Reviews of Laylocks Garden Centre
B. B.
Excellent garden centre and restaurant to visit. The owner has continued to improve both of these and Laylocks has become our favourite in the area for plants and coffee and something to eat. Visitors are always made to feel welcome and can be sure of being given good advice for their gardening needs.

Nice helpful staff and a very friendly service really informative on what is best with what plants shrubs and such Nice place to go look at stuff and have a coffee loverly area would recommend a visit
K. R.
Lovely location and enjoyed meeting the rescue donkeys, fantastic selection of bulks and seeds, we visited with our dog before heading in Worcester center, pet selection could be better, very good pricing on pots and soil
T. H.
Went to laylocks today. Haven't been there for 10 years. Nothing has changed really... It's still a great garden centre to get everything you need. It has a lovely coffee shop which serves home made quality food. Service is quick and staff are very polite and helpful. If your passing you must stop off here. There's a children's play area and two lovely donkey's to go a see... A must.....!!!!
E. B.
Garden centre was fine got a lovely birthday gift for my sister in law but the cafe side was a little disappointing as we waited twenty minutes for two drinks but will certainly go back again
P. S.
Really well thought out garden centre. Plenty of parking. Lovely cafe with outdoor play area for those with young children. I'd definitely go back..
G. P.
A very good independent Garden Centre with a good range of plants and products. Dog friendly cafe good car park.
S. H.
Haven't been since before lock down and boy has it changed. They have had a refurb and it's massive now, you need signposts to find your way around. Lots of lovely new things and more of the outside undercover. Will have to go again as need time to browse properly and maybe try the restaurant out.
M. F.
Went for lunch. Service was good as was the food.
The garden centre and shop was very well stocked.
Will come again.
T. S.
Disappointed with the quality of the plants that were available to buy when we cane to buy specifically for a gift. Also thought the information re the garden centre being dog friendly was misleading. Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, the website isn't clear, nor is there any information as you enter the indoor part of the restaurant. It was embarrassing to be asked to move. On an aside, the service from one of the younger members of staff in the restaurant was great, always smiling with each customer she served.
J. a. S.
Good range of plants and outdoor furniture. Café closed for refurbishment when we visited.
S. J.
Well stocked and displayed shop and excellent cafe.
G. E.
I have not been there before and I found this place very good. IT'S very safe, good for families to get around , Good for disabled people to go around. Lovely restaurant and good food. There is a safe place for children in the playground which next to restaurant where you keep eyes on them .The staff are very helpful and friendly also good Atmosphere there . Car parking is free that's good.
Thank you Graham
H. S.
Good cafe, plenty of choice re. plants, gift ware etc. House plants rather expensive
T. C.
I have never been to Laylocks before but when with a friend. Great range of plants maybe people would say a bit expensive next to the some of the place. But you get what you pay for.!! The customer service is five star the two lady's at the checkout I believe one lady was new they brought box's to put our plants in and over all were ambassadors for there. The cafe has a lovely out door sitting area where you could hear the birds singing and clean and welcoming I shall return 🎶🐦
S. G.
Excellent service after returning a garden parasol with a faulty opening and closing mechanism. Staff extremely helpful and polite on the phone, and when the item was returned to the shop. It was exchanged immediately without any problems. I can highly recommend Laylocks.
M. G.
Beautiful garden centre, great products for all garden requirements. Lovely cafe, will visit again in the near future. Cleaning stations around and toilets available. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Plentiful parking
H. W.
Great range of plants, gardening equipment, gifts, clothes etc.
Excellent restaurant. Wonderful range of indoor plants and beautifully presented throughout. Thank you also to the very helpful and friendly staff.
M. G.
This is one of my favourite garden centres. It's not the largest but it has a good range of items. I also think it provides the best value for money in this area. If you need something for your garden or just want to kill some time it is definitely worth a visit.
S. F.
Nice centre friendly staff great choice of gardening products gifts, and greeting cards.
Well worth a visit
J. W.
Visited for the café primarily - nice food but with average service.
A. B.
Had lunch, it was good food, mix up with green tea, but was immediately rectified, lovely staff
B. D.
Large choice of goods. Cafe okay, service desperately slow. Seem more people behind the scenes than people at the front desk serving customers with their needs.
M.
Its a great centre, but today the cafe was closed because of staff shortages. It was very quiet. They did not have the herbs we wanted so had to go elsewhere.
S. P.
A good variety of products, mostly undercover, clean well presented light and friendly staff. We always buy our solar lights from the store they have a good choice
E. R.
Lovely garden centre with decent prices, definitely worth a visit on a day out.
b. N.
All the compost and grit for our alpines. The selection of Alpine plants is very good.🥰
R. N.
Tables were filthy with ground in dirt. Not good in these Covid times!
V. B.
I have used Laylocks for years ,watched it gradually grow and evolve and wouldn't go anywhere else. The new look is great and enhances and extends one's shopping experience. .Lovely food to eat in or buy to take home ( frozen and fresh food and drink on sale impressive and yummy cakes) Staff are friendly and experienced and one can always get advice from them unlike bigger nurseries where staff are just salespeople and know nothing about plants or gardening. A comprehensive range of plants, shrubs, bulbs and seeds available as well as everything else one needs for the garden.
My only criticism: the toilets! Please update and bring up to the high standards everywhere else.
A. B.
Hooray, Laylocks is open again ... our proper nursery and garden centre.!
I love Laylocks! I always find what I went for ... and more!! The plants are of excellent quality. They NEVER fail so your money is not wasted. I have restocked my little garden over the last five years and have had so much pleasure from it.
Thanks too for the staff who invariably have lovely smiles and cheerful helpful manners. It's wonderful to be able to go there again now 'lockdown' is less stringent. We felt totally safe there this afternoon with the efficient social distance measures that have been introduced there.
Looking forward to taking friends to the coffee shop for delightful coffee and cakes when it safe to do so. It's always such a treat with a relaxing environment both inside and out.
Hope your Robin is still there too.
Well done, all of you!
W. A.
Lovely garden centre with a great giftware and home section too. We always use here as a stop when visiting family in Hereford - just a short detour from our route - and have refreshments in the cafe. Also provide takeaway too. Very rarely leave empty handed 😜
G. R.
Lovely garden centre with a nice restaurant, wheelchair accessible.
P. G.
Very helpful staff and wide range of Christmas present ideas.
M. C.
Well laid out facilities, Rreasonable prices. Pleasant eating areas, both the restaurant and adjoining marque.
R. A.
Very wide selection of goods. Current bolstered with many christmas items of food, wines etc and many speciality festive foods. Bought some nice top up presents and stocking fillers, as well as the usual bird foods and bulbs etc.
Maybe not the cheapest but very acceptable. Nice, easy abd not too cramped layout plus friendly, helpful staff.
Easy parking.
A pleasant shopping experience .
M. R.
The garden centre was very nice well laid out. Bought some plants. Had a coffee and scone in the cafe. latte was nice, scone was not, dry and unappealing. Staff very friendly. Good covid 19 safety measures
J. D.
Really good Christmas shop. Clean and friendly.
I. F.
A more individual garden centre than many of the corporate sites. Well worth a look.
L. B.
Very nice products, nicely displayed, but a little pricey..
W. B.
Nice coffee and cake in small garden area
S. H.
Beautiful remodelling of a traditional garden centre. We went for food which was lovely. Garden was really pleasant to sit in with a great kids play area.
J. H.
Great garden centre, well worth a visit
H. I.
I really like this garden centre, the plants are good quality and more reasonably priced than some places...they have a good array of gifts, books, gardening items..but did seem abit run down generally in places (some stock was faded or possibly been there a while). We went on a Tuesday which was very busy and there was quite a long queue at the till as only one open. The cafe is lovely...but again staff were very stressed as only seemed to be 2 staff and it was busy...people were having to get up for cutlery and sugars etc as none brought and a couple of orders were wrong...but didn't feel it was the staffs fault as they were rushed of their feet. This place could be some much more and I hope it's a blip due to the covid issues as I really like the place!
R. P.
Laylock's has recently been refurbished and is much better for that. It appears that there's much more choice now.
We ate in the ladybird cafeteria and although the menu was limited (due to the current Covid-19 restrictions), the quality of the food was very good and reasonably priced.
The staff were friendly, though the lady at the checkout was a bit stern. That said, we'll certainly visit again.
D. T.
really lovely friendly garden centre, they've spent a lot of money renovating during lockdown, nice extended, large covered cafe outside, for covid regulations..
food as good as ever..
AND YOU CAN TAKE THE DOG INTO THE CENTRE...😁
N. R.
Good sized garden centre. The donkeys are so cute.
C. A.
Visited today for the first time. Pleasant enough garden centre with a good selection of stock and plants. Quite an old fashioned establishment and certainly dated in some respect.
The Cafe / restaurant was nice enough. Shared a baguette with my partner and it was tasty enough. Tea was good and the hot food looked quite appetizing.
Certainly a quiet place and was lacking in atmosphere and a warmth unfortunately. Would visit again.
J. B.
Beautiful garden centre, been 3 times, a little gem! A huge selection of goods on sale, well worth a visit. Beautiful little cafe with outside seating as well... A perfect day out.
r. G.
Have always loved Laylocks and I never feel like it's summer until I have my plants from here, thanks again, my baskets and tubs are looking lovely 👌
A. H.
Nice food, but a bit expensive .
Toilets not clean
J. B.
Great for a cup of tea while the grandchildren play..
P. H.
Very good. As usual . Lovely scone etc.
L. P.
Been up again this morning wonderfully laid out now just how I imagined it to be this time last year plants are good and reasonably priced compost is nice q4 I Really like using staff are always friendly and helpful pleasure to go there
Thanks team see you again
C. D.
I had a very nice breakfast. Very tasty and a cappuccino coffee. Lovely
J. “. J.
Found this place very expensive lots of things that can be found in the high street for a lot less the cafe was very overpriced a jacket potato with prawns and a cup of tea for over £11 pounds seemed a bit exssive and the potato was burned not a good experience
T. R.
Great service and reasonably priced cafe. Lovely donkeys to see and a good play area for kids.
J. J.
Situated outside of Worcester on the Bromyard Road an independently run garden centre which also has a cafe. Plenty of parking and a new addition of an impressive indoor area that is full of all the usual items from tools through to clothing, indoor plants, books, interior ornaments, home made cakes and drinks. Outside is an array of plants that you would expect to see in most garden centres looking healthy. Currently a very good selection of salvias and grasses. Winter annuals such as violas, pansies etc all available. I went to get some peat free compost but unfortunately was disappointed. I did buy a salvia and some very nice tulips. Laylocks is following the current Covid requirements and I felt safe there. Fully accessible to all and all viewing areas are on the flat with nice wide aisles and automatic doors.
D.
A great selection of outdoor and indoor plants and vegetables. There are a large variety of brands of seeds and the prices are quite competitive - I've purchased quite a few seedlings and they have all survived and grown well. Its location is a little far out, but a good selection of other places to visit depending on how you wanted to plan your day. The section just before the tills (at the very end) has a good variety of cacti and succulents if that's your thing.
M. L.
A nice family run business. The garden centre isn't the biggest, but there are some quirky items and a lot of home made produce, most of it locally sourced. The restaurant was friendly and the food was wholesome and sensibly priced. Again, much of it is locally sourced. I enjoyed my visit.
J. W.
Great place, friendly staff, plenty of parking.
Prices are not to bad either, with great selection of plants and shrubs.
O. T.
Lovely place to wander round. Very therapeutic going round and looking at all the lovely specimens of plants and flowers they have there.
G. H.
Went to get an ice cream on a hot day. Had a quick walk around. Seems very organised
R. J.
Lovely breakfast. Helpful, friendly staff.
A. W.
Lovely garden centre with everything you need. Very gift orientated. Lovely cafe. Friendly staff and a great day out. Toilet facilities clean.
J. W.
Lovely garden centre with good quality produce and gifts. Look forward to the cafe opening again as food was a rummy when open 😁
p. j.
Good range of plants and local produce. Easy parking. Friendly staff an a nice café.
B. A.
What a great place. So much to see and buy. Gifts for any occasion. Coffee fabulous. Staff so nice and personable. Defo go there again. X
G. H.
Very nice coffee shop. Good size portion for cakes. Good value for money.
R. A.
Much improved over the last couple of years.
A. B.
Very nice small garden centre, but prices were higher than our local garden centres
d. b.
Smaller garden center but lots of very nice items, good selection. They have a cafe and 2 donkeys too :)
M. V.
I bought some bird food here for the birds in the garden. I asked them for their opinion of it as I can hardly be expected to eat it myself merely for the purposes of producing a Google review, and this is what they said: "Tweet tweet tweet tweet, chirp chirp, tweet, chirp, tweet tweet." So there you have it.
C. W.
Excellent well run centre with loads of stock
J. L. S.
Love this place! It's my local garden centre as we've just moved near here. Great to browse and mooch about in the shop, plants and everywhere else. Got a couple of new house plants but will be back to buy for my new garden!
J. W.
Wasn't aware of this place until a farm shop 'ROTS' told me about it. Plenty of plants etc but unfortunately not what i was looking for but it has some donkeys which the kids loved!
C. D.
Friendly staff, good breakfast, but dirty tables and food-remains on supposedly clean cutlery. Toilet floor and toilets, left a lot to be desired. Really needs a visit from health inspector, to give the cafe a shake up. Such a shame, because I would like to come back!
D. C.
Always great for a bargin and a fantastic lunch
C. C.
Have been out to Laylocks today and I am delighted to say they have done a fantastic job of organising the store for the current situation. Felt perfectly safe and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Thank you All
s. c.
Good selection at average cost, well laid out, good coffee shop come eating establishment
M. G.
My local garden centre always full of lovely plants and a great cafe too.
T. H.
Very dated, coffee shop nice
M. B.
Average garden centre, café is a disappointment, so only worth a visit if you really only buying some plants. Range of products is small and not competitively priced. Best part is the donkey at the end of the car park.
M. B.
Very good food but a bit expensive in the other sections.
W. R.
Love this garden centre. Good range of products to choose from for not only the garden but gifts for family & friends. Love meeting our friends here for coffee and bacon rolls.
E. W.
What is there not to like about this garden centre reasonably priced and a very feel good place
R. T.
Coffee was good, cake was a little old ! The cafe area has been re arranged which is an improvement, the shop however still looks dated which is good if you don't like change !
J. C.
Pleasant enough but doesn't carry the quantity or diversity of stock that other garden centres do.
N. C.
Lovely garden centre, always tidy.
Great selection of gifts and Garden furniture.
m. m.
We went to the tearoom here today just for tea and scones. The inside of the tearoom is very nice laid out, the choice of homemade cakes is very good. The staff seemed quite friendly. However as it is a very hot day today we decided to sit outside. Now this area has the potential to be really nice, and I am sure a few years ago it was, it has trees and shrubs a paved area and a gravel area even a trampoline. Unfortunately, though, it is now very neglected , at 1.30 pm on a Sunday the paved area had not even been swept, and was covered with what looked like the debrit from winter. Now in my opion there is no excuse for this, a simple sweeping for the summer would have made so much difference. There is great potential here, ideally the patio and tables and chairs needs jet washing, the wood tables and chairs need to see some varnishing, and the ash trays need emptying. This is in a garden centre after all so why is not some pruning being done? Unfortunately this area is a total let down for Leylocks, the potential is there but not being used. Would I go there again for tea on a hot day? The answer is obviously no, come on Leylocks do something about this.
L. P.
Easy access, great products. You can buy pretty well anything there. From plants, bulbs, clothing to cakes. Laylocks also have a restaurant which is very reasonably priced. Great food.
C.
Beautiful garden centre a hidden a gem, the restaurant is lovely as well.. Well worth a visit even if its just to look around & plan your next project.. Finish with a visit to restaurant for a drink
g. s.
Nice place. Visit was married by desperately slow card connection. The queue would be horrendous on a really busy day
K. S.
A great small garden centre.
Lots of choice of indoor and outdoor plants.
They also have nice gifts and cards.
They also have a cafe which sells some lovely food ,also a small outdoor area.
J. D.

Good range of plants and great staff on the tills. The café isn’t bad, but I wouldn’t recommend it - the food was good, but the person on the till was clearly having a bad day.
