Oh my, what an angel! We were stuck when the Airbnb washer did not work. Weeks of travel laundry. Joan fetched it, washed it and returned it. Delightful service, I can’t recommend too highly.

Convenient, reliable, affordable! My son and I ended a 2 week trip to England with a few days in London. I contacted Joan at The Empress of Smooth to see if I could bring my laundry in. Actually, we didn’t have to spend any of our holiday time doing our laundry! We left it at the hotel desk and Joan picked it up and delivered it back the next day. I left the payment at the hotel desk. Nothing could have been easier. We received our clean and folded laundry which made getting back to our home countries and back to work immediately, so much better. I highly recommend this service. And the cost was very reasonable!

After two weeks of traveling around the U.K. our family had run out of clean clothes. At first I was just going to give them to the hotel but it would have cost more than 200 pounds! We gave our laundry to Joan from 'The Empress of Smooth' everything was washed, folded and perfect all within 24 hours - this lady is impressive. All for 68 pounds ( Three hug bags of laundry ) I would 100% use this company again and I highly recommend it.

This is possibly one of the best laundry services we have found during our trips overseas. Joan was truly accomodating, punctual and detailed in her service. Laundry for 3 was picked up from our hotel at 7 AM and delivered same day in the evening. Prices are fair and service is right on point! Keep this business in your list if you find yourself in London in need of a quick turnaround!

I found Empress Smooth ironing to be very helpful and professional. The quality of the ironing was brilliant and there price's were really good. I would recommend them to anybody.

It's not often I review a service but I just had to this time. I was recently in London staying at an upscale hotel for 2 weeks. My partner and I don't particularly like to use hotel's laundry service as they charge way too much for what it's worth. Joan came to our hotel to pick up all our laundry and returned it the next day all washed and ironed. Exceptional value for money and would actually encourage her to charge more for such a premium service. Great value and wonderful, courteous and efficient service. 5 stars!

Impeccable Service. I contacted Joan from the Novotel BlackFriars because we had lots of laundry to do during our travels. She picked up our clothes from the hotel, laundered them and delivered them back to the hotel by 6am the next morning (I had left payment in an envelope with the hotel staff the night before). Reasonable rates too. I could not recommend her business more highly. Yet another good reason to stay at this hotel.

We were on a 16 day vacation and needed to have laundry done at the mid-point. One call to Joan and had convenient pickup and drop off times arranged. She picked up and delivered right to our hotel! I’m impressed with the quality. We stayed at a hotel and needed two weeks of laundry washed (price depends on weight, but was very reasonable) and men’s shirts ironed (£2 each). Our clothes were tightly folded. Shirts were well ironed, no creases. Joan coordinated with my hotel reception, as I could leave my laundry there for pick up and she would drop it off at reception. Accepts cash or PayPal. Would definitely recommend.

Oh my god, what a truly amazing woman!!! We have all had that problem when the washing machine breaks down and you've got a load of stuff that needs cleaning, and there's always something in there that you need cleaned ASAP. After franticly ringing round to get someone out to fix the washing machine, only to be told that the earliest would be in a couple of days. So I needed to find somewhere to get my washing done, and WOW did I find one!! Not only was my washing picked up at a time that suited me, and delivered the very next day looking and smelling good, the price was good as well. Joan you are not just an Empress, but a Goddess and I cannot thank you enough!!

In general, very nice service: a) Price for washing/ironing is very competitve (average of 1.899 pounds per shirt, if you give at least 10), below the market average, specially having in mind that delivery/collection cost (you don't need to carry your items) is already included. b) Washing & Ironing is very good. All my shirts were well ironed. (and I am quite demanding on this topic). c) Delivery and pick up of clothes is quite flexible and can be arranged directly with Joan. She was able to come early (before 7am) to deliver my clothes during the week and to come on Sunday to collect them. d) easy paying: cash or paypal. I definitely recommend using Joan's services.

I was staying at The Mondrian and needed a lot of laundry done at short notice, picked up that night and delivered back the following day. Joan did all of this at very short notice. She was exceptionally friendly, punctual, reasonably priced and with perfect communication even though I was using an Australian mobile. Highly recommended, will use again when back in town. AAA+++!
