Prior to us moving house we needed to clean up the carpets - a three year old and a seven year old living in the house with us for three years creates something of a messy carpet as I'm sure you can imagine! Enter Nigel! Very friendly and exceptionally professional, Nigel came and measured the carpets, checked their types and discussed the best options available for us. We booked him in for a few weeks later and he arrived on time and ready to go. Apart from his cheery attitude and his clear knowledge of all things carpet related, it was his tenacity which really came across; He wasn't about to let my kids get the better of him and worked tirelessly to return the carpets to their former (pre-child) glory. Nigel was extremely professional, he cleaned a carpet and stairs at a house we had just brought and to say the difference in the stairs and bedroom carpet were so obvious would be an understatement. I was so pleased with the result that I booked him there and then to do my stairs and all my carpets which he did a few days later and again, a great job done and although I didn't think my carpets were particularly dirty, I realised they were when I saw them once finished. Nigel was on time, got on with the job and was very informative by explaining what he was doing and why. Have already recommended him to family and friends.

I moved into my bungalow in December, a week before Christmas the only thing that dampened the experience was the smell of dog and cigarettes from the previous occupant. I want to thank Nigel profusely for his exceptional and free advice when I contacted him a fortnight ago after tripping on my beige stair carpet with a bowl of homemade beetroot soup! Yes, it did look like a murder scene, and yes it did stain significantly. 😱 Nigel was fully booked and so unable to come to remove the stain but so kindly and generously shared his stellar knowledge with me to remove the dreadful stain. He didn’t ask for a penny for the professional advice when I asked. His suggestion was not to use any of the products famous for stain ‘removal’. The solution was gentle, and gradual, and repeated. I’ve used Nigel many times, always with equally good results at a good price and so useful not to be left with soggy carpets taking a age to dry. This time The Dr cleaned 3 offices with carpet tiles and 3 adjoining small vinyl floors, it wasn’t until he left I even realised said vinyl was imbedded with mini sparkling crystal bits that now shine! Friendly, professional and as Nigel himself might say “The Dr can see you now!”

Nigel Lay is a complete professional in every way, from the initial quote (which was spot on, by the way) to the very thorough service. He moved our furniture as needed and not only cleaned the carpets but also treated them with Dupont anti stain and also thoroughly brushed the pile back into the carpet. Also cleaned our leather furniture, now like new and shampooed our patio cushions. Such a nice man as well, who explained as he went along. Extremely good value for money, highly recommended!
