I took in a bridesmaid dress which needed to be altered urgently for a wedding this weekend (cut and hem). We took the dress to Sam, who was really friendly and professional and he managed to finish it for me within five days, including the weekend and a bank holiday. The dress was a tricky length and material and Sam did a wonderful job. The tailoring is beautifully done and I am so thankful for his high-quality and efficient work. I would recommend Sam’s services in a heartbeat and will be taking more clothes to him!! Thank you again Sam 😊

I recently pulled an old and beloved winter coat out of the cupboard to find a massive rip along multiple seams below the left arm. It amounted to a gaping hole. This is a thick leather coat with a thick fleece lining. I've had it for 25 years and it wasn't new when I got it. The rip looked horrible, something I had no chance of repairing myself so I Googled local leather repairs and Bushey Tailoring came up. It turned out to be really local so I took it to Sam and he said he could do the job using a thick leather patch. He said it would take two weeks but four days later I got a text saying it was ready. When I inspected the work, I actually couldn't find the original tears and Sam showed me the neat, discreet patch he'd inserted to save the section becoming too tight to wear. The work was incredible. Sam demonstrated how strong the seams were so that the same thing couldn't happen again. I'm so impressed with the speed and quality of the work and would recommend Sam to anyone wanting a repair. I feel the shopfront could do with a little TLC to give it a bit more 'kerb appeal' but honestly, that part of Bushey Arches wouldn't get a lot of passing foot trade anyway. Sam is open until 6.30pm every evening, even Saturdays, so it's really easy to fit in a visit around work schedules. I'll certainly be using this business again.

I cannot express my gratitude to Sam. With less than 3 days to go until my wedding he managed to fix the poor alterations that were done to my wedding dress, by another bridal store. I went in on Wednesday just before closing and my wedding was on Saturday. On Thursday afternoon Sam had asked me to come back in to try on the dress after making the alterations and he did it exactly to specification, he even steamed my dress for me before I left. Ali was great. I went to him on a Friday with a 3 piece suit that needed tailoring. Jacket sleeves lengthened, jacket tapered in the body, jacket shortened, waistcoat taken in at the body, trousers taken in at the waist, leg and also lengthened at the back to sit nicely on my shoes. Everything looks great, stitching is tidy and it looks like a custom made suit. I've had many compliments on this since wearing it too! This was a very large job and he completed it all for me within 2 days and I collected on Sunday. Ali is extremely friendly with great customer service and knows exactly what he is talking about. Pays attention to the finer details which I like. For my job, it wasn't necessarily cheap however if you are looking for a job to be done properly then he is your man. Well worth the price I paid to get exactly what I wanted. The suit fits perfectly now and I will be using him for all of my tailoring in the future. Thanks again Ali.

I've always dreamed about an open back wedding dress but couldn't find anything modest that wouldn't cost me a fortune. I ordered a classic dress online and brought it to Ali to see if it's possible to create something similar to the one I dreamed about. It was the very first time I used Ali's service and I was amazed by his proffesionalism. He explained to me in details what needs to be done and what he needs to change so it would fit perfectly. It was quite a big job to be honest but I trusted him with my dress and was so happy with the final result. The dress was zipped all the way up at the back, he removed the zip so he could cut out the back and shorten the dress without touching the bottom (it was very important to me as it has detailed hem), sew in new, shorter zipper, lower the neckline and took in sleeves. Dress was ready in no time and he basically changed the whole design so now I've got my dream dress at a fraction of price! Ali is an excellent tailor, always happy to help and I highly recommend his service to anyone. He's passionate about his job, definitely got the skills and knows what a top quality is!

Ali was amazing! I needed to get my wedding dress altered and was recommended to go to him. Obviously I read Google reviews first and they where all right he is great! He was polite... considerate and took the time to understand the changes needed. My wedding dress is very delicate tulle with alot of beading. He was able to add some additional material to the decollage that not only matched my dress but was beautifully tailored. His workmanship was impeccable. I would definitely recommend anyone to go to him. Easy to get to just a quick 3 minute walk from Bushey rail station. You can also park under the arches in bays 1-5. Will definitely be going back..thank you for doing such amazing work to my dress!

I would highly recommend Ali for anyone who needs a dress altered. Our bridesmaid dress supplier unfortunately made a mistake with our order, so two of the dresses turned up far too big for two of the bridesmaids (the two either side of the bride in the photo). Obviously, we were worried this was going to ruin the bride's big day - but with Ali's help, our dresses fitted perfected and you couldn't even tell they had been altered! He went out of his way to find what adjustments needed to be done to make the dresses fit perfectly (on one, he removed the zip and took the dress in at the back, on the other, he decided taking it in at the sides was best) and his passion (and skill) for his work is obvious. I'm definitely going to be taking any dresses that need alterations to Ali in the future and highly recommend his services.

I can't praise this service enough. I have had items of clothing hanging around for months which I love but they simply didn't work anymore; work dresses with hems which refused to stay in place; leather and pleather skirts with sexy splits which had gone wild due to too many nights out; amazing dresses I have found in charity shops which in all honesty... just didn't fit! Rather than throw/give these away I took all these items in, not expecting too much, other than a telling off for not being able to hand see a hem efficiently! There is a roomy changing cubicle so I was able to try the clothes on to be pinned which is great. It didn't take long and he knew exactly what he was doing in terms of how tight the strapless dress should be (it was a C cup and I'm an A (!) so it needed some serious alteration. A week later I was delighted to see how they had all been transformed and all for the price of say, a new dress. The resized dresses fit perfectly and they actually look stunning on now. The splits have not only been stitched back to their original position he's reinforced the split with a T-bar of material so it's not going anywhere! I am a very happy customer : - )
