Visited on Saturday morning and got 24 bottles. A wide range of ales and IPA, small batch ales and staples/favourites. Knowledgeable woman in the shop offered a friendly welcome and talked me through the range with enthusiasm but no hard sell. I left happy with the beers purchased and would happily recommend a visit. Good prices as well for a quality product.

The Durham Brewery offers some of the finest and most exceptional beers you will find. I am a big fan of their strong ales/stouts (note you should respect their strength and drink them as you would good wine). The stand out high end products are their barrel aged beers/stouts. I've just received 6 bottles of Bede's Moscatel Barrel Aged Tripel (ABV 9.7%), and 3x 2 bottles of Imperious Stout: 2 aged in Bourbon Barrels (ABV 10.5%) , 2 in Rum Barrels (ABV 12.8%) and 2 in Whisky Barrels (ABV 11.5%). I also retained 2 bottles of their previous Imperious Oak Aged Stout (ABV 11.8%) from a previous order and one Temptation Imperial Russian Stout (ABV 10%), so look forward to hosting a small scale stout tasting once COVID tiers permit. I've also still got 4 bottles of Redemption (ABV 12%) with a best before 2028 date. These I originally bought as part of a case nearly 2 years ago, and so far they have remained incredibly stable retaining the original toffee and vanilla flavours with the whisky cask finish.

Bottle beers are nice but keg wasn't all that and on the flat side. I would recommend the different ales, stouts and lagers as they have some nice recipes.

Ordered Sunday arrived perfectly packaged Tuesday, mixed case of 12 some my husband and son have tried before and a new one bounty hunter they are looking forward to trying. They have done the brewery tour and visited the shop in the past but covid restrictions don't permit travel at the moment so it's great to get a perfect delivery to Essex to tempt their tastebuds until they can come again

The Durham Brewery, is a North East England brewer based in Bowburn, just south of Durham City. They launched in August 1994 at the Durham CAMRA Beer Festival and were awarded beer of the festival with Celtic, an achievement that was to be repeated the following year. They do a fabulously wide range of bottle-conditioned beers ranging from low to high gravity beers to suit all palettes. Excellent! They also brew a great range of Cask-conditioned and keg beers. These are from 3.8% abv to 10% abv in all colours and styles. Traditional hand pulled beers and craft kegs. Delicious!
