G.This is a great little shop with a very fine selection of wines (many not easily available elsewhere) and an excellent selection of craft beers (now including some pretty good alcohol free ones). If you are a sherry drinker, don’t miss their Leith amontillado. And take with a pinch of salt the complaints about rude service. Never experienced that myself from any of the staff. I find that if you are polite and friendly to people they respond accordingly.

S. M.Beets is a wine and beer merchant located in Leith near the shore. I am so glad to have cute little wine and beer shop near my home.
Every time I want a nice bottle of wine, discover something new or even enjoy a delicious piece of the chocolate from the Chocolate Tree, I know I will find something in that shop.
They have so many import and local beers, sometimes I don't even know what to choose. I particularly like that you can choose from so many funny and design bottles as well.
I will go again and again but it would be nice to have a nice advice or conversation about the product with the owner... She is not the most friendly and helpful person.
r. k.Brilliant Shop, lots of craft beer selection, chilled. Oddly sells spirits but not lemonade/cola so you need to go next door to Sainsburys. The woman who seems to be the owner is a tad scary, might help to smile at the customers!
l. m.Brilliant gem tucked away in Leith. Finally found a decent bottle shop for some of my favourite Australian red. Coerced by the owner to try the gins and am now moving through the wide selection....Love it!

S. C.Beets is not an off license, though it is a shop that will sell you beer, wine and spirits. It is a wonderful, cosy shop, where someone knowledgeable can help you find the perfect bottle and, if it is gift help you find the perfect bag to wrap it in too. The port, beer, wine and other spirits are all of highest quality and it is actually a gem of a place. I feel lucky to be able to pop in and try to as often as I can!

A. G.Beets has changed and adapted to survive the arrival of a chain supermarket right next to it. The pleasant little shop now specialises in an interesting range of alcohol.
If you want to pick up a bottle of wine, even champagne, that no one else is likely to bring to the party (or guess how much it costs) then Beets is for you. Want to try a new beer, ale or larger? Then Beets is for you.
It has a pretty decent range of spirits and has stocked Kraken rum in the past but the independent really specialises in wines and beer. I make the habit of buying a new beer whenever I go in and I try and go in as often as I can. This is a local shop that has earned the trust and support of the locals.
There’s been times when I’ve been stuck and unable to decide what sort of wine would be suitable for a party or dinner. Without fail the owner has been able to help, has been happy to do so and shared impartial advise. I’ve been persuaded to buy less expensive wines. I wouldn’t have a second thought in asking for advise again.
Beets is normally open from Tuesday to Saturday. The only trouble I’ve had with the store is when I fancied something for Sunday dinner and they’ve been closed.
