Reviews of Holyrood Distillery

We booked last minute tickets to Holyrood Distillery during our stay in Edinburgh, we were pressed for time but we really wanted to visit one. We were delighted with our time there. Our guide, Elsie (hope I got the spelling right), was very knowledgeable and fantastic communicator. She explained everything in detail, with plenty of examples, gave us tips and suggestions and made our visit a memorable one. We’re looking forward to being back and being able to taste their first batch soon. Wishing you all the best!

Fantastic whisky and gin distillery with the very knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide, Marko. Very good price for the tour where you get to try some whisky and gin on the tour with the option of getting a flight of 4 gins or whiskies after which includes cocktails. Would definitely go back and do it again.

Great tour and experience well worth a visit. Our guide Stuart was very friendly and informative on all things Whisky and Gin. Very enjoyable.

This is an urban distillery transformed from a listed 19th century railway building, a part of St Leonard's Station which ceased operations in 1968. The regeneration design touched lightly the original building and retained its industrial essence, with a new 2-storey new structure accommodating the retail and tasting area offering the view of Salisbury Crags.
The informative tour led by an enthusiastic guide was great for beginners like me. Samples of gin and whisky were included and one can pay extra for a flight of 4 at the end of tour, which definitely worths it.

Visited this distillery on a Sunday morning. The distillery is located very close to the centre of the city and has onsite parking. They're relatively new so it has a very young and vibrant atmosphere and staff. This reflects in their approach to their products to.
They pay tribute to their lineage and heritage in the name of their product "Height of Arrows" (any guesses?)
The tour is done by friendly staff and they are very generous is their tastings :)

Took my dad here for a special birthday. We had a great time doing whisky tour. Staff in the shop were awesome very friendly and helpful. Really made my dad's birthday. I would have been bit comfortable if we were spaced out further but great time. Marcus from the tour was very good.

We originally booked this for 2 years ago but were thwarted by the start of covid. The customer service since then has been fantastic. So many companies have merely extended any vouchers they provide for a fixed length of time, but Holyrood basically said they'd honour our tour whenever we could make it. We booked a stay in Edinburgh 2 weeks in advance & were immediately accommodated by them. On the day we were travelling up, we were hit by major travel delays but again, they couldn't be more helpful & moved us onto a later tour.
We eventually made it & had a great tour by Stuart, very engaging, entertaining & educational throughout. I thought the gin was delicious but took a bit more convincing on the whisky, which I've always struggled to drink. However the cocktails served on the whisky flight at the end were a game changer. Absolutely delightful. Thank you very much for accommodating us & being so helpful throughout.

Paid a visit for a private tour of the Distillery and what an amazing wee place. Lots of history and character, despite only being open for a couple of years. Sounds like there are lots of exciting new plans for locals too. Watch this space 👍🥃

Had a lovely time on the distillery tour. Our tour guide - please forgive me for not remembering her name, she gave the midday tour on Tuesday 10th - struck the perfect balance between being professional and friendly, informative yet amusing. You get to pick your drink at the start and then you get to have a little taster of both, and you don't *have* to drink anything you don't want, so if you're only there for either the gin or the whisky that's fine. I'm not going to give away too much of the tour, but I will say I learned loads and it was fascinating to see all the equipment up close. Wear light clothes, it's warm in there owing to the distilling process!
I can't say much about the whisky (since I'm not a whisky drinker therefore couldn't really appreciate it) - but the gin might have been the best gin I've ever tried. I normally either have to have a pink/fruity flavoured gin or add fruit or flavoured tonic water but I could drink this stuff neat. It is SO smooth, with a citrussy, berry-like, slightly piney flavour from the juniper berries. Gutted I only bought one bottle, I can't imagine any other gin will ever live up to it. The flight at the end was a lovely finish, that cocktail with the apple and honey was mind-blowing.

Great small distillery. The visit was a birthday treat for my partner, and as I don't drink whisky, I just upgraded him to the tasting flight. They were all so friendly and our tour guide was great and we felt like we could ask her any questions throughout. My partner enjoyed all the drinks (which there were a lot of) and learning about all the processes. Would definitely recommend this place, even if you don't drink spirits. Learning about the process of it all was really interesting.
R. N.
Absolutely loved the tour. Very nicely done and such happy and friendly team. Very informative and answered all the questions plus more. The whiskies are great too. So good that I ended up buying 2 of them - didn't plan on a single purchase when I initially walked in. Highly recommend.
a. g.
Lovely distillery tour, good value. It was refreshing having a gin and whiskey tour in one.
X. Y.
We had a very good experience in this small but very lovely distillery. The staff are all welcoming and nice. The tour guide Stuart is very informative and has answered a lot of our questions through the tour. The cocktails at the end were truly lovely!
M. T.
Had an amazing experience getting to know how gin and whisky are being produced. Our tour guide Stuart had a great knowledge of that process. And of course we could try excellent gin and whisky from Holyrood Distillery
G. S.
I booked a tour and tasting for my boyfriend’s birthday and he absolutely loved it. Was amazing to see the whisky making process and taste each step of the way - from the barley to the aging spirit. Our guide was very informative and friendly. It’s great value for money, I highly recommend it!
W. W.
Great whisky tour - Stuart was a fantastic guide. Interesting to see a brand new distillery doing something innovative!
M. M.
We had a great time doing the whisky and gin tour. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The tour guide, Stuart was amazing and have a great knowledge. We upgraded our tickets to whisky and gin flights to complete our tour and it was delicious. We learned some much and it was a pleasure to do this tour at Holyrood Distillery! Keep progressing.
M. H.
Knowledgeable, highly motivated, young guide giving a nice presentation of the process of making whiskey. Fun to watch live production and taste their new products. Great location below Arthur's seat and just a short walk from downtown. Recommended.
R. O.
Awesome little local Distillery! Cant wait for your whiskey when its ready! The Gin is 5/5! Keep it up!
M. A.
it’s a City-Distillery so it’s Limited in the processes. You won’t see „real“ casks that have whisky inside and also there is no own mill. I would recommend the tour for beginners. Our guide was fabulous. The gin is pretty good. Pricing for the new-make and the gin is boutique and not really reasonable. Thank you.
M. T.
We did the more expensive tour on a weekend evening. Not worth the cost. The tour guide was pleasant and knowledgeable about the distilling process. The distilery is nice but new so no Scotch yet to sample. Instead we got three small samples of gin and some Sherry. They did give us a nice tasting glass to keep. If you want to taste Scotch try a different tour
M. J. B.
Fanatic place. We did the Whiskey & Gin tour, our guide Marcos was amazing. Great experience and very informative. Definitely recommend it.
J. C.
Really recommend the tour. Our guide Stuart was really good and made the experience really interesting and entertaining. The price of the tour is good as you get a few drinks included and even a little whisky glass!
L. F.
Amazing experience. I like gin my partner likes whisky so the two in one tour was perfect. Highly recommended this tour ❤️ (very good gin as well)
R. Z.
Amazing tour thx Stuart ! Your enthusiasm and knowledge about the topic has made our experience even more dynamic and interactive than what we imagined.
J. R.
An amazing immersive experience on the distillery tour! Very insightful and fun at the same time. Can’t wait to try their whisky’s in the future
G. F.
we did a whiskey tour, for £25 each we visited the distillery, how it works, we tried three different types of whiskey
Also in the store, we bought a majestic gin
T. M. A.
What a beautifully presented sensorial experience is the tour at the Holyrood Distillery. Our guide, Stuart ‘Piney’ was excellent. Thank you for a great tour Stuart. You were informative & entertaining. Definitely do this tour visitors, it’s right in the city & we left with a bottle of their Dry Gin. Im sipping as I type.
D. C.
This is a young distillery. We enjoyed their Gin & Spirits tour and had a very informative and fun time with Marcos. We especially enjoyed the free time and the relaxed atmosphere. We'll definitely order one of the Whiskey bottles as soon as it is possible!
V. R.
It was very interesting, we learned a lot about the process of distilling and the tour guide was amazing with us. Highly recommended...
A. E.
Absolutely mega experience. Stewart was a fantastic host, he was very informative and knowledgeable, even recommending excellent venues to attend after the tour.
Quotes from the tour
"I don't like gin, but this is great."
"I can't believe how nice this is"
A. L.
We really enjoyed the tour and the tasting that followed. Rachel was an excellent tour guide, and gave us a lot of tips on what to explore in Edinburgh, as it was the first day of our holiday there. The gin is fantastic, and we can't wait to return for a proper whisky tasting.
A.
Really lovely tour. Knowledgeable and nice guide and looking forward to the first whiskey.
J. V.
Great place very clean and tidy, had a tour booked which was very informative had a few shots of Gin too which made it even better. You get the opportunity to see and taste the new Gins and Wiskey which will be hitting the stores in a few years time. We'll worth a visit staff are very good at what they do.
M. J.
If you like whisky & the good lady likes gin great place to try. Can't wait for the whisky to be old enough to try properly. Good luck 👍🏻
M. L.
Such a great day here at Holyrood Distillery. A young bunch of staff with pure enthusiasm. 10/10 tour and tasting experience. Highly reccomend. Danny was great, genuinely keen and interested in the technical aspects and the wider business too. A must if you are looking for something to do in Edinburgh. Looking forward to enjoying the batch 001 Gin.
A. H.
Excellent trip. Really interesting and informative tour. Big thanks to our charming and charismatic tour guide. Would definitely recommend for novice gin/whisky drinkers.
S. B.
WOW! My friend and I had booked the tour followed by the gin flight. Both Danny and Peter did our tour - lovely, friendly staff who were extremely knowledgeable. No question we asked was a problem. They are an asset to this business. The product itself is worth trying - the gin flight allows you to taste the 4 main gins. These are worth trying! The building is lovely, the set up impressive and good value for money. The only thing I would have changed was to browse the shop at the end but this was probably because we took so long enjoying drinking the gin in the nice bar! The staff were even kind about us staying until closing time. Brilliant - cannot recommend this enough.
L. W.
Very good distillery tour, unique tasting experience. Very friendly people.
J. W.
We came here for an accelerated whisky tasting during the mental Scottish weather. Really nice atmosphere and helpful staff. Great views from the bar, too!
R. Z.
Amazing tour thx Stuart ! Your enthusiasm and knowledge about the topic has made our experience even more dynamic and interactive than what we imagined.
A. G. D.
Booked this for an afternoon lunch and from the website I thought it would be a wonderful experience. I was very disappointed. The covered seating did not have enough heaters, the tables are flimsy, the food served in carton boxes and plastic cutlery and 15p a sachet for condiments. You cannot order food and drink from the same website and the link to download the app does not work on the website. We had to enter all our personal information to be able to order. Once that is done it is very easy to get your drinks and food so that is a positive. The staff are friendly and helpful though. The portions were small but the food relatively tasty.
I expected a lot more and I don’t understand how people can get outdoor dining so wrong, especially when the weather is so awful in this country. Take a look at France for some ideas on how to keep your outdoor area warm: two heaters are not enough.
A. H.
Excellent trip. Really interesting and informative tour. Big thanks to our charming and charismatic tour guide. Would definitely recommend for novice gin/whisky drinkers.
E. S.
Had a fantastic time being shown around the distillery by Stuart. Funny and informative with a few drinks along the way and a free whisky glass at the end as a thank you. Highly recommend it!
S. K.
Great tour of the distillery very informative and fascinating. Would highly recommend 👌 👍
B. S.
Very very nice and friendly. Stunning good Whisky and Gin. Impressive Distillery.
E. S.
Amazing friendly and knowledgeable staff. One of the best tours I have been on in a very long time. We'll worth a visit and fully recommend.
K. M.
Had a lovely tour of the distillery which was a whiskey and gin tour. It was very relaxed and informative and included a number of drinks and samples! Highly recommend and their gin is great!!
B. F.
Really good tour. Stewart was good fun as a guide and very knowledgeable. Gins and new spirits (pre-aged whisky) we’re delicious. Would definitely recommend.
A. A. R.
Super nice spot to have some beers and snacks. Haven't try the tour yet.
J. S.
Really fruendly tour guide, interesting tour, drinks provided along the way were very very nice
M. G.
This was an awesome experience - one of the highlights when visiting Edinburgh for work.
Our tour guide, Rebecca, was really knowledge and very friendly. The hour long tour was exactly what we were wanting - a thorough look into the process of distillation and what the distillery staff are aiming for in terms of taste and quality. We got to taste some really awesome gin and a lovely guest whisky since they're so new and currently have no whisky mature enough to taste. I genuinely hope to visit in a few years time to see how their products have been matured and refined. They're doing some very interesting and experimental things with their alcohol and I can only imagine it getting better with time.
Can't recommended highly enough!!
C. M.
Some friends and I ordered whisky for a friend and we were accidentally sent some gin - I enailed someone called Jenny who replied so quickly and got us our correct order sent out straight away and told us to enjoy the gin too! Such great customer service and our friend loved the whisky. We're saving the gin for when we can all meet up after lockdown to enjoy it together. Thanks for your great service and great products!
E. C.
Highly recommend a visit to the distillery and doing a tour. Our guide, Stuart, was very informative, helpful and made us feel very welcome. I really loved the tour and I don't even like whisky! We then stopped for a gin&tonic at the distillery's bar and it was the best I've ever had. I hope I get to come back some day.
S. F.
Great experience especially since for a couple who is divided with regards to gin vs. whiskey you get to experience both. Marcos the tour guide was very friendly and engaging. The tour itself is an exercise in smell and taste; you'll understand once you visit. I recommended it without any hesitation!!
D. M.
Excellent tour with very amiable and knowledgeable hosts. Really recommended and best of luck in the future.
H. H.
We loved our tour here from start to finish. The hot toddy on arrival was most welcome given the temperature outside. We were taken through the gin and whisky distillation processes and particularly enjoyed the smell test at the beginning. This is a new venture with a very modern twist and enthusiasm for a unique addition to Edinburgh’s attractions.
Full marks go to Eoin for the approachable, professional way he conducted the tour.
I would thoroughly recommend this tour to all whisky and gin lovers. The shop’s pretty good too!
M. E.
FAB distillery to visit our tour guide Elsie very knowledgeable and great presentation skills welll recommended!!
A. F.
Great time being shown round the distillery, with drinks throughout. The tour guide was friendly and informative, and the gift shop is fantastic as well.
S. B.
Had a great time being shown around the distillery, learning how gin and whisky are made by a very informative guide named Owen. Plenty of drinks as we went around and a free whisky glass at the end.
F. H.
Really worth a visit. A new Distillery (open for only 6 months) for Gin and Whisky, but don't be put off by that, they are really doing things in the right way. Interesting, involving and informative tour... and also educational without too much teaching! Well done guys and Good Luck for what looks like a very bright future.
V. P.
The distillery tour was excellent.. and the guide was an amazing person.. we purchased a Gin which is really awesome
M.
We did the Whisky tour which was very good, but you also have the option of a Gin tour. Unfortunately they have not started to Distill the Whisky yet, but don't let this put you off, our tour guide Douglas was very knowledgeable about Whisky making and answered all our questions. We found it very interesting as we had very little knowledge beforehand, the sample Whisky's were a good spread of tastes which help highlight the effects different stages of Distilling have on taste. Very good value for the price, and only a short walk from the Royal mile!
B. S.
Very very nice and friendly. Stunning good Whisky and Gin. Impressive Distillery.
M. M.
Having lived across the road/garden from it's building site for over a year, was delighted to finally step foot in the premises on Sunday. The tour is well managed, interactive, the staff helpful and enthusiastic and what they've done to the building itself is lovely. Would highly recommend to any visitor to the city.
The only downsides are that despite a discount, 14 quid for a whisky tour at an unestablished distilerry seemed a bit step, especially as they did not have their own whisky (obviously) to try. Two tasters (one gin, one whisky) was a also a bit tight, given they have five or six varieties of gin.
Otherwise a great afternoon out.
J. M.
Great afternoon! Went on the brewery tour was really good! Learnt alot, also drank alot, and the host was really nice. Defo recommended for the £25 each price, well worth it
A. T.
I had a fabulously informative, personalized tour (I was the only one in the tour group at 10am... lucky me!!!) with Douglas while on vacation in Edinburgh. Friendly, approachable and knowledgeable staff who really are passionate about spirits! The gins themselves are original with unique flavor combinations, and the gin liqueurs are not to be missed!! Because the distillery is located so close to the start of the hiking paths up to Arthur's Seat, you can kind of "bundle" two attractions: local gin distillery + hiking up to Arthur's Seat!
A. E.
An exciting new drinking hole, tucked away behind the houses in newington. The staff are friendly, accommodating, and have a good knowledge of the gins and whiskeys they have to offer, all made by the Holyrood distillery themselves. They also sell full size bottles in their shop, and mini tasting bottles the you can mix and match, to make the perfect gift for any gin or whiskey lover.
M. D.
Only recently found out about the newly opened distillery from a YouTube video by The Broonfords. Only about a 15min stroll from the Royal Mile. Rather than doing a general tour we booked for the Whisky tour and received a warm welcome with some mulled gin while waiting for the tour to start. Our guide was Douglas who did a fantastic job of describing the process in a very informative and fun manner along with answering questions from the group. He made it a really enjoyable experience helped by a few samples along the way. As it's a new distillery they don't have any of their own yet to try unfortunately. Next time we're up in Edinburgh we plan to go back and try the gin tour as that looked a lot of fun with with stations set up with different botanicals. Can highly recommend a visit and looking forward to sampling their own whisky's in a few years time.
L. M.
Best gin distillery tour yet, new and fresh. Danny was great as the tour guide, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We had great help from Holly who sorted out our booking via Itison. In fact everyone who worked there was brilliant. Well worth a visit.
E. S.
Amazing friendly and knowledgeable staff. One of the best tours I have been on in a very long time. We'll worth a visit and fully recommend.
C. R.
Great whisky tour - excellent indoor activity for visitors. Whilst you don't get to taste their own whisky yet (it's not finished!) You don't miss out. Plus their gin converted me - I thought I hated the stuff! Now I've run through my bottle of gin liqueur lockdown has for a harder!
L. M.
We went on a tour through the distillery and had such a nice and interesting time. The guide seems to love his job and explains the process of gin and whisky making with joy and passion.
I highly recommend to just go to the distillery and join a tour. It's one of the highlights of our city trip.
S. B.
This place is great! Very interesting regardless of how much you like whisky. Our tour guide Eoin(?) Was very knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. I've been on a few distillery tours and this one tops the lot.
Loved the shop also! Xmas presents sorted!
K. B.
This new and - at the moment - only single malt whisky and gin distillery offers you a full experience about their Holyrood whiskies and gins. We had a tour with Stuart (as in the mouse) as our guide. A fluent, easylistening and funny person (and he can now almost pronounce "jenever" correctly ;o)). During the tour you learn how to smell and taste the whisky and the gin. You learn about the production and have a taste of their whisky, gin and gin liqueur. At the end of the tour you can have another drink at the bar and you can buy things at their shop. It was a lovely experience and we liked the total concept.
M. T.
Lovely evening in the courtyard. Great beer, great food, and fantastic service from Stewart who made us feel very welcome. Will definitely be back!
P. M.
Fantastic tour with Stuart, very knowledgeable with forward thinking ideas on gin and whisky, generous samples to taste along the way 😁
L. S.
Brilliant tour with Rebecca. Loved the interactive sensory elements such as discovering whether you are a super taster, smelling smoky or sweet barley and sticking your nose into old casks. Enjoyed the fiery flavour-filled tasters along the way and the lovely bar at the end of a memorable experience. The whole place already brimming with atmosphere. Will be back to see the stills in action and grab a few presents from the shop which is well stocked with quirky gifts and lots of cool gins! Definitely worth a revisit.
M. R.
Only Day 47, but I have nothing but gratitude for the quality of the tour, thanks to Stewart. It was an excellent sensory experience, full of smells, sights and tastes. I loved the gin, and look forward to coming back in a few years to taste their first batches of whiskey.
A. N.
Great cocktails, superb guide. Would definitely return when the whisky distillery is fully operational.
B. S.
Fantastic Distillery - a must if you’re in Edinburgh to experience all the ‘touristy’ things! We had a very knowledgeable tour guide, Rebecca, who was clearly enthusiastic about what she does. Plenty of samples along the way, make sure you pay extra to get the Gin flights at the end as it really finishes the experience 🍸⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
D. D.
Super nice staff!! We happened to be there on Wednesday on our way to the arthurs seat, a man told us that the shop would be open tomorrow, so we walked there again the next day. They were closed due the rain, but when we told them our story [that we are on our honeymoon and wanted to go on a roadtrip through Scotland with our motorhome, but in the middle of England the motorhome broke down, so we spent a week in Edinburgh and will leave tomorrow] they kindly made an exception so we could buy gin and whisky, we thank you so much <3
G. M.
This is an outstanding local distillery offering exceptional tours (and tastings) just a short walk from the city centre. The tours provide an immersive insight into malt whisky and gin production - the team are all incredibly friendly and knowledgable and really make you feel so welcome. A true highlight and an absolute ‘must see’ Edinburgh attraction.
T. S.
A new distillery with a bunch of experienced folks running it. The tour is worth it and do enjoy your drinks! Cheers!
D. H.
Fantastic tour with very knowledgeable staff. I was here as a whisky drinker but tried their gin and liked it (first one yet). Will definitely be back to see what they are up to in the future.
M. M.
Really great tour experience with Ali. Our other whiskey tours in Scotland were nice but all very similar; this was really something unique. He's clearly really into whiskey and answered some pretty high-level questions from home brewers on the tour really well.
I. d. M.
We had the opportunity to have Stuart in the gin tour and tasting by ourselves. We had an amazing time and really allowed us to understand better the history of gin as well as tasting their marvellous products!!
I am sure i will come back!!
Nacho
R. C.
Found this place wandering back down after hiking up Arthur’s seat - my friend and I are not big whiskey fans so what brought us in was the gin display from the street, and I’m glad it did! We were able to taste most of the gins, which are all delicious and Rachel was lovely - above and beyond helpful! Would definitely go back next time I’m in town!
A. C.
Excellent tour, knowlegable, friendly guide (Stuart) and we'll worth a visit.
G. M.
Very open Terrace, covered and uncovered. Great reuse of an old building, well stocked shop with a good selection of drinks. Tours are available.
A. A. R.
Super nice spot to have some beers and snacks. Haven't try the tour yet.
D. D.
Brilliant. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and learned alot about whisky
M. v.
Very good experience you should not miss it. The staff is very nice!
C. S.
This new distillery was a lovely find. The tour was intersting, getting visitors engaged in the difference sense that go into tasting gin and whiskey. The space was suprisingly small, due to the historic nature of the site, but well designed.
D. N.
Would definitely recommend the virtual whisky tasting/tour. Our host, Peter, was really friendly and knowledgeable. Generous sample sizes too!
M. B.
Some nice cocktails. Food is not worth it. Bratwurst was a tesco sausage. Charged us an extra 5p for a tiny packet of salt... laughable really.
A. S.
Enjoyable visit in a tour party of 4. Good to see a new start up business & enthusiastic staff. Got to return in 3 years time to sample their own whisky rather than their blends of others
S. R.
An excellent visit and tasting session. Our tour guide was very funny, very informative and amusing making the whole visit more enjoyable. So piney (stuart) well done. Piney was his flavour which displayed on his badge. Well worth a visit.
B. J.
Very enjoyable tour with an enthusiastic tour guide. Excellent views from the bar too!
C. E.
An informative and relaxed tour style. Great architecture. Outdoor and indoor bar areas too.
J. C.
Excellent tour of the distillery. Interesting informative and interactive. The tour guide Stuart was both friendly and funny. We'll worth a visit
A. O.
Amazing gin!! Recommend to all gin lover's! Need to taste it!
G. M.
Great and knowledgeable guide. Quite small but focuses on the process of making whisky and gin and the tastes.
Have adapted to covid well.
F.
Ali was awesome, really insightful experience although a new distillery they have a fun tour. Would recommend the whiskey tour with tasting!
m.
New distillery so tours have just started. Good yo see how the gin and whisky are made. Good range of different gins they produce in yhe shop.
Good luck to the team for the future
D. P.
Tour was really great and tastings throughout the tour set this apart from others I have been on.
E. S.
Everything was spot on. It was clean, fast and friendly service and great tasting beer. Recommend to make a tasting session of the tap beer.

Great interactive tour in a newly opened Gin & Whiskey distillery.
Highly recommended

Amazing service with friendly and knowledge staff. Can confirm that their new gin is superior✨
Thank you for the great help today!

Great tour, personalized, and very close to Edinburgh. My wife loved the Gin and i loved the representation of their Fruity and Spicy Whiskey.
M. H.

A. I.
Upgraded to the tasting at the end well worth the money. Tour guide was brill lovely place will visit again. Xx

Stuart is great, we really enjoyed our tour and our flights afterwards!
E. L.
Great tour today with Sophie, only 4 of us on the tour but it was enjoyable, even as someone who doesn’t like gin or whiskey🤷🏽♀️
M. S.
Really enjoyed this place. Tour guide was very good and friendly. The gin was to die for and I'm excited to what they have next to create
B. W.
Perfectly organized visit, nicely balanced between accurate information, well explained tasting and a good sense of humor. Sir Piney, you're a natural born distillery guide.
G. C.
Did the tour and Rachel (spicy girl) was great
The flights were lovely but the gin is better for the uneducated like us
J. w.
Very friendly, knowledge staff. Lots of variety of whiskey and gin. Greeted with a mince pie and a mulled gin drink. Worth a visit, very close to the park/parliament.
J. S.

The food and drinks were nice, but the app you have to order through is a real pain, especially as you have to get drinks and food separately.

Really good outdoor seating area...and good choice of local draft beers.

Good wee beer garden. A little pricey but that's to be expected when they only serve Innis and Gunn and their own whisky

(Translated) The Hollyrood distillery is very close to the city about 1km. It is made by one hour guided tours and all in mother tongue. In the explanations are accompanied by the tastings of gin whiskey and liquor. At the end of the visit there is a bar and downstairs a shop for purchases. Admission costs £ 16 whether you are a consumer or not. it's worth visiting

(Translated) Very interesting distillery, in the heart of the city, 2 stills with very high necks.
Very nice project, our guide Stuart was very interesting.
Hoping to taste their whiskey in a few years.

Distillerie très intéressante, en pleine ville, 2 alambics à très haut col.
Très beau projet, notre guide Stuart était très intéressant.
En espérant déguster leur whisky dans quelques années.

(Translated) New Destellerie, yet to test its own whiskey, since he still has to store at least 3 years. But they also produce different gin, which you can test and surprisingly tasted, although I do not like gin so much. Also we could test whiskeys, of course Scottish. The price of the tour is worth it, is highly recommended. Also there was a "smell test", which was very enlightening. Another small, "family" distillery.

(Translated) Very well presented how to make whiskey and gin. Worth a try!

Foarte bine prezentat modul de preparare al whisky ului si ginului. Merita incercat !👍

(Translated) Extremely educational and clear visit (even in English), with lots of humor. A great time to understand the different types of whiskey. I was not a big fan of this Scottish national drink, but by understanding the universe, it changes everything! During a weekend in Edinburgh, do not miss this distillery, which is worth much more than all the tourist "tours" that can be found in the heart of the city.

(Translated) Nice shop and visitor center from which excellent tours in this new distillery are started. You can taste the produced gin. Since the distillery has been in existence for less than 3 years, there is no whiskey to taste, but they have solved that by making a blend about how their whiskey tastes.
(Original)

(Translated) We had a great tour with a dangerous-looking, disguised Dan on Halloween afternoon. It was really interesting, we learned a lot and had fun doing it. Dan has answered all the questions a team of engineer and pharmacist can provide. For us, the subject of gin was completely new.
Really recommended, also because of the appropriate for us tastings (gin, whiskey, gin liquor) for guidance and especially because of Dan's enthusiasm!

(Translated) Nice visit of the distillery, very interactive. With tasting to implement what we are shown.
But it is sometimes a bit superficial.
The visit is a good experience, which I advise visitors to the region.

Mais c'est parfois un peu superficiel.
La visite est une bonne expérience, que je conseil aux visiteurs de la region.

(Translated) A distillery without a story, since only 6 months old. The whiskey still needs time. Hopefully the idea works. I'm more critical.

Eine Distillery ohne Geschichte, da erst 6 Monate alt. Der Whisky braucht noch Zeit. Hoffentlich geht die Idee auf. Bin da eher kritisch.
