J. B.Cairns & Hickey is a brilliant little local shop which I visit regularly. In contrast to some of the reviews, I have found the owner to be very attentative, friendly and approachable. I consider myself to be young (20's) and have received a great deal of unjudgemental advice and recommendation throughout the course of my custom, regardless of my price range. Although the selection on offer isn't huge I have found it difficult to purchase a bottle which I have not enjoyed. I couldn't recommend enough.
S. S.I had a great experience, just walking from one place to another and found this shop easy to look around and I found person serving very helpful. I bought a great bottle of french wine at this store much cheaper than the not so good french wine in the supermarket. I preferred to shop at this store rather than the supermarket after that.
M.I've been going here for years and always find the folks very approachable and it's a good selection. I just wish they'd open a little longer in the evening, and perhaps vary the selection a little more often. But well worth a visit.
