Lovely wine bar in the heart of Dalston. With a focus on Austrian wine (and neighbouring countries), there’s always something new and special to try. Natural only, the well curated wine list will please any cravings!

i’ve been here a few times to dabble in their weekly curated by the glass list and came for the christmas party newcomer held this evening. the service is always consistently super informative and personal - whether you’re choosing just a glass after work or a bottle to take home or for a gift and whatever night of the week the staff are ready to help and spinning some great tunes from spotify.
the christmas party this evening though was worth mentioning, a lively community feel with specials including delicious hot dogs (which may become a main stay!), chestnuts and absolutely delicious mulled wine, which itself was on the house! delightful atmosphere and as ever lovely service, and particularly fun this evening.
props to the guys who run this place for a lovely evening and generally a lovely place to go for a relaxed drink. i will be back, and you should too!!

Amazing selection and friendly, intelligent, patient staff that know exactly how much you would like to learn about the wines on offer. Every time I go in I am impressed.

Newcomer Wines, just opposite Dalston Junction, is everything you need from your local wine bar & bottle shop.
Offering a weekly curated by the glass list, as well as a plethora of bottles to drink in it take home, this is a welcome addition to the neighbourhood.
From crowd pleasing classics to super funky skin contact naturals, there really is something for everyone. If you are unsure, the friendly and knowledgeable staff will be more than happy to guide you to your perfect wine.
In case you are feeling peckish, the bar snacks are simple and high quality - German meats and French cheeses, and, wait for it, they are trailing some pretty damn good hotdogs.
Lastly - killer tunes. Go and drink some wine, it would be rude not to.

Beautiful little jam in Dalston. This Wine store hides a lovely garden in the back. The set menu is really tasty albeit expensive (around 50pp). They have a great selection of wine, including very interesting oranges! Glasses are around 10-12£. Perfect environment for a date. Really recommend it.

Great selection of 'New Old World' wines, helpful and friendly staff

Quaint wine shop with a delightful and wholesome selection of organic wines, largely Austrian. A pleasant atmosphere, and very helpful staff, including the very friendly and knowledgeable Austrian owner. Recommend!

Great wine bar and shop for Mid and Eastern European wines. Not cheap but have a great selection and nice staff.

Have been here several times and have been so thoroughly impressed by quality of service and the selection. Have had some Austrians and Loires that have been truly wonderful and eye opening. Not just due to their uniqueness in some cases, but often just due to the beauty and their being a classic but bold example of a style.

We are local and have been a few times. We enjoy good wine and they do have this. However, about 75% of the time the staff are not at all welcoming and they make you feel like you have rudely intruded on their night. Shame, because if it wasn’t for the unwelcoming service it could be great. I should add that this is not the case with all of the staff - some of whom are very friendly. A few let down the lot.

Really impressive range of Austrian wines. Staff were very knowledgeable and great at recommending different wines. Really nice atmosphere too and not overly expensive.

Austrian wines shop and some eastern europe wine selection. I needed a white wine to pair with a Chinese dinner - i received great advice the pairing was excellent. the prices are not cheap but i will defo go back for their wine tasting evenings

Amazing wine bar specialising in sustainable Central European wines. You tell a lot of care and consideration has gone into the place. The staff are lovely and really know their stuff (and better yet not pretentious)

A great establishment that specialises in introducing exciting Austrian wine producers to the UK (but they also sell nice non-Austrian wines of note). Good knowledge of everything that they have on for offer, so you can expect to discover not only good wine, but also food. Food is usually limited to nibbles, but they occasionally have guest chefs.

My favourite wine shop anywhere East - specialists in Austrian wine. Great for a few glasses in or to grab a bottle or a few cases ... they'll do a private event s well. Go here and drink wine!

As a seasoned Dalston and Clapton wine bar junkie, this one is great. The staff is so charming and open.. everyone has a nice vibe and makes you feel very welcome. Much less rude than other places I have frequented in Dalston and much better prices. I hope there bring more food and wine onto the menu! I would love to see this place flourish. :))))

Good selection of wines. Nice cosy garden and knowledgeable staff.

Stumbled across this place with a few friends and had an absolutely excellent time. If you are a lover of wine, it's hard to do a lot better for the money. There is an excellent selection of wines, but they really focus on Austrian wines, which are outstanding. Corkage is only £10 and there staff make excellent recommendations based on your kind of wine preference. If you like your red Burgundy/Pinot Noir, the Christoph Edelbauer 2014 Pinot Noir is fantastic. Certainly will be going back soon.

Very good organic and natural wines. Lovely and relaxing atmosphere.

Adventurous place to have a glass of wine. Varied selection. They had a pop-up Chinese for food today, but did not try this time. Normal food menu is more conventional. Would certainly go again, and very likely get some food too.

Great place to have a few glasses or grab a bottle for takeway. Focus is mostly on Central and Eastern European natural wines (Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Slovenia etc) with some French thrown in. Not much food, but some charcuterie and cheese to go with the wines.

Let's face it....Sometimes you cannot turn up at a dinner party with a bottle of Jacob's Creek, and Tesco's finest doesn't quite have same impact. Don't be afraid to admit you need help as you wont know much if any about their German/Austrian wines. And staff always are happy to talk and educate. Don't just grab a bottle and run as you will have no backstory to tell your dinner guests.
You might not replace your 3for20 weekly shop here, but you will get INCREDIBLY good wine here and you owe it to yourself to engage with staff.

One of the best wineshops in London. It's apparent how much work and love went into this place. The wines are fantastic and Peter has a story to tell with each and every one of them. Highly recommended!!

I just spotted this wine shop today. I was looking for a red wine. I was amazed about the service. I could taste 2 red and 1 white wine. They have a very good collection of good quality austrian wines.
I bought a "Groszer Wein" which is the best wine from Austria I ever had (including the non-austrian wines from south tyrol) plus a bottle of "Grüner Veltliner".
Check out the hand made wine glasses. Very expensive, but I bought 2 of them anyway. Lighter then air ;-)
Will come back again.

Great little wine spot.

Lovely spot for discovering special wines from Europe, predominantly Austria, Germany and Hungary. Their amazing food is sourced from independent artisans and is simply delightful.

Very friendly and surprisingly quiet hangout with great wine, some good beers and other drinks. Super friendly staff and not obnoxiously hipster like many of the places around here (albeit not a local old man's pub, but marginally less pretentious than most!)

Great selection of wine, super friendly staff. I love drinking wines which surprise me and this is what happened at the Newcomer Wines :) Can’t wait to come again.

A little Dionysian cave on Dalston Lane. Here the cult of the grape is celebrated in tones of awe and faux expertise. Wine geek heaven.

Great place for a glass or wine, or two. Lovely staff. Clean modern design with a relaxed atmosphere. I did not eat, but the food looked very nice.

Lovely little wine bar just outside Dalston Junction Station - cool décor, good atmosphere for a catch up with friends and a good selection of wine by the glass.

Fantastic wines from Eastern Europe. Guaranteed to bring an interesting bottle to a dinner party! Also serve wine in-house and have WiFi.

Happy to see so many Austrian wines on the shelves! They are always exciting!

Ok but a bit pretentious and expensive, which is especially strange if you are sitting out in the garden and it just feels like sitting in some London flat's garden, PVC doors and all!

This is my top choice in dalston for buying wines for friends / as presents.
