Reviews of waterintobeer
D. M.
Was made to feel welcome, drank many awesome craft beers at reasonable prices, say outside in the sun. If your into craft and passing it's well worth a visit. Something for every taste.
R. D.
Incredible beer selection. Great live music. Cozy and friendly
T. C.
An absolutely fantastic shop with an amazing selection of beers and home brewing stuff. The guys are always super nice and it’s a nice place to sit outside and have a drink when it’s warm enough.

Lovely addition to the area. It serves a wide range of bottled and canned ale. Their specialism is bottle conditioned and northern breweries. Drinks are ordered by type in the fridges and by Brewery on the shelves. They also sell home brew equipment and books. The staff are very knowledgeable about their products and very warm and welcoming. The decor is wonderful and it also has tables and chairs inside and outside the shop so you can stick around and enjoy your drinks. It seems popular with the locals already. Nice touch with the complementary popcorn too. The prices are exceptionally cheap for London too. Get yourself down and pay a visit.

Best place in the area for proper beers, the selection is so wide. If you find it hard to choose you could end up spending quite a lot of money.
The online shop is handy and easy to use too so I often get some homebrew supplies and a fancy beer or two and prices are pretty reasonable.
K. S.
Fantastic selection of beer with extremely knowledgable staff. This will be becoming a regular place for a good beer. They have so many local and small breweries.
They suggested a Grapefruit beer that is outstanding! Also, free popcorn

I absolutely love this place. I wanted to take up home brewing as I’m a big fan of beer. A friend suggested I try the grainfather kit and found water into beer as they offer a trial at a small fee.
Tim and the team are really friendly and approachable. They guide you through the beer making process in a relaxed and fun environment. This venue really brings people together and makes a positive contribution to the community. Anyone who is keen on drinking and / or making beer should certainly stop by.

This is an amazing place. The owners are super helpful, friendly, and welcoming. I went in for ingredients for a home brew once and was hooked. It is a 14 mile cycle ride for me to get there, but well worth it. With a good selection of beers in the chiller, it is far too easy to go in for something quick and before you know it, have spent hours there chatting with Tim and drinking far too much! If you are a home brewer, beer drinker, or just know someone who is, this shop is well worth a visit!

Probably the best brewing supply shop in London. Great selection of kits, hops, gear and yeasts, way cheaper than a lot of alternatives as well. If you compare price to quality on whatever random Amazon search, Waterintobeer always wins out. Service and reliability is also top notch. Many times I've had questions and Tim gets back straight away with expert advice and all orders are shipped asap. This place has allowed me to stockpile hundreds of litres of delicious homebrew during the lockdowns and have a a reliable and affordable supplier for every step forward in the process of learning how to brew.

The shop is about half homebrew equipment and half posh cans / "craft beers". You can get some really rowdy stuff here that I haven't seen anywhere else locally, and they were pretty helpful when I asked about brewing equipment. Also they always seem to be playing mid 90s punk when I go in, so there's that. Hope they can survive the 4th lockdown, looking forward to drinking there soon!
P. H.
Extremely knowledgeable and friendly owner. Only recently discovered waterintobeer and it's my new goto. Huge selection of yeasts for beer and wine making - including a few funky and wierd strains. Wide selection of malts, hops and equipment too.
Superb range of craft beers - ambient and chilled if you want to have a beer at a table outside.
O. R.
Tasty beers of all kinds and from all over. It has a lovely atmosphere - warm, sociable and laid back, not trying hard to be trendy like most craft ale places. Great vinyl being spun. Love the touch of the free popcorn being served. The owners Tim and Helen are ace!
D. F.
Brilliant place, you can always come for a calming pint. Love this place
F. L.
Fantastic little shop for brewing supplies and advice. Kind and knowledgeable, in a cosy relaxing environment. They have a great variety of craft beers for sale as well, stocking all the latest releases for drinking in or taking away. Can't fault this little gem at all - it's perfect.
C. P.
Spent a lovely evening there drinking way too high volume beers. Great selection, and quite a lot of cans refrigerated, the beers include a couple of drafts. Good vibe, nice tunes. The owners make you feel welcome and you just end up spending a lot more time there than initially planned.
S. G.
Support your local beer brewing and wine making shop!
They are still open for mail order, and you can pick up your items from shop door.
Although no phone number, Tim does answer emails very promptly (even past hours!).
Where would my elderflower cordial be without their Campden tablets & citric acid?
G. F.
Great place for a wide variety of beers, ales, and they also sell my new found favourite drink, mead. Knowledge staff, friendly and supportive towards home brewing. Love coming of an evening to listen to some classics on the record player and drink in hand and chill.
G. O. S.
Brilliant shop, helpful staff, tasty beer, and an almost full selection of home brew ingredients and equipment, if they don’t have it, they’ll order it for you! Prices a touch higher than online for some things, but it’s a physical shop. Perfect for regulars and emergencies. Highly recommended

Awesome place - trekked from West London to get here and wasn't disappointed. Tim had been very helpful via email before I got to the shop and had my homebrew supplies waiting for me when I got there. He was very friendly and very knowledgeable too. Also - awesome beer selection which I had to partake in.
M. H.
I've come here a few times to purchase brewing ingredients, the staff are super friendly. Both times the bloke that works there sorted me out with both a recipe and the ingredients, when you're first starting out in all-grain that can be really helpful. They also have kit beers and a small but eclectic selection of beers to drink either on premise or to take away. Including some interesting beers such as to øl's Yellow Belly. I live in hackney and cycle all the way to brockley because the service is so good.
M. W.
Great place, lots of home brew equipment and ingredients and plenty of beers too. Tim is knowledgeable and very helpful
A. G.
My daughter, who lives locally, sent me a beer "care package" back oop north to Yorkshire from waterintobeer. Very impressed with beer selection ! Will have to visit post lockdown when in Brockley
P. T.
Great choice of craft beer from all over the UK and some overseas breweries. Perfectly connected with music play from records. What's more, there homebrewing supplies store in the same place with a choice of malts, hops, brew kit and brewing equipment.
D. F.
Everything an aspiring homebrewer could need in one place. Excellent advice, selection of ingredients and equipment. THE most welcoming atmosphere . If you feel like hanging out the music and selection of beers both on tap and packaged will further enhance your appreciation of WIB. Needless to say I'm a fan.
B. N.
Very good selection of beer, amiable service and reasonable prices. Often has some of the same stock as competition across the road, and sells it cheaper.
C. R.
Great local craft beer and homebrew shop. Friendly and helpful staff and a great range of beers.
P. M.
very good selection of beers plus everything you might need if you feel like start brewing your own at home.
Every now and then there are also good gigs and, if you are lucky enough, a very nice cat wondering around.
M. W.
Lovely selection of beers and super kind and friendly staff !! Well worth a visit if you’re in Brockley. When the weather’s nice it’s a great place to sit in front of !! The man who owns the shop always brings out little complimentary bowls of popcorn to snack on whilst you drink ! They have music and quiz nights - Water Into Beer is ace !
W. C.
Excellent beer selection. Extensive kit for homebrew. Same day local home delivery. Not sure what else to say.
T. B.
A unique beer shop perfect for the enthusiast of traditional brewing. A wide selection of traditional beers plus all the equipment and ingredients for the home-brew enthusiast. Sit in and sample the wares to an eclectic soundtrack of vinyl LPs played on a two-speed deck.
T. D.
Awesome place with a massive selection of beers to drink in and take away. Tim also has a great choice of homebrew ingredients and equipment and has plenty of knowledge to offer too!
B. 5.
I wanted to pick up a few beers on way home and was impressed by the selection, not just in variety but some unique and reputable beers that you simply wont find at your average supermarket or offie. Even better is that you are supporting a local and independent business, run by someone passionate about their trade.
A. C.
During these unique times and the difficulty therein in getting home brew supplies these guys were great. I had an issue with an order which without any fuss the guys put right straightaway. Big thanks to Tim!
H. F.
Well-stocked homebrew supply shop and excellent craft battle shop & bar. Friendly and helpful service - Tim is always on hand to help whether you're a first-time brewer or an established enthusiast, and can order in just about ingredient or equipment if it's not in stock already (although a very wide range of grains, hops, yeast, and sundries are always available).
Also a lively drinking den and hub for community events and activities from acoustic nights to comedy, quizzes to vinyl record nights. A bewildering array of exotic craft beer cans and bottles, and usually 2 on draft as well. Some gin, no wine, no cider. Hosts a thriving monthly brew club, where local homebrewers bring their wares to share, taste and discuss.
Not a fancy place, but very homely, and free popcorn provided.
Full disclosure: I'm an active member of the monthly brew club.
M. E.
A great place to buy beer, drink beer in house, and Tim and Helen are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Also run a great range of music/brewery and other events. A must for all beer enthusiasts!
F.
Really loved this place.
Very relaxed vibe with the owner spinning some wax and doling out free popcorn in charity shop crystal.
