So this is an odd place. Entry through a shop and then a winding passage to the outdoor / indoor where you drink your choice of tipple. An array of beers n lagers etc to choose from. Feels a bit rustic and chucked together but I don't mind that. Liked it.

If you love ale, live to the north of Newcastle and haven't been here, you're missing out! Drew and team run a community based, unique experience food and drink venue. Try it! Update April 2022: for a while now, also running a small but perfectly formed deli. Great provender, amazing prices! Tasting might even be available!

Had our cheffed up street food van here tonight and what a venue 👌 drew and the staff amazing 👏 cant wait to go back and cook up a storm again and most of all go back and enjoy on a day off the selection of ales on offer from tap to cans and bottles wines you name it coppers have it. Drew was evan kind enough to let us take a bottle of his looper ale home and its bloody fantastic. Highly recommended

Impressive beer and wine department, with a bijou little outdoor dining area at the back which can be booked for gourmet events. A good little deli fridge, and useful Co-op brand groceries. But there is a whole aisle given to crisps and sweets. I would rather see more groceries. Perhaps more tinned/dried goods to increase choice without risking wastage.

Very friendly staff. Good beer selection, some raraties you don't find at larger shops or that are regularly out of stock. Also does quite reasonably priced take out draft beer. Definitely worth going out your way to drop in.

This place is quite incredible. You have to go to fully appreciate the secrets it holds. Amazing beers from around the world and fresh food in store along with all the items you would expect from your local store. Family run and with an amazing bunch of staff you will come out with a smile on your face!

My local shop with the best range of beers and ciders in the city. They are dog friendly (well behaved pets) and they take time out to chat. They will also order stuff in for you if it goes out of stock and keep it for you until you collect it

It's a great bottle shop, they have a huge selection of really lovely beers. On top of that the shop itself is great too. They have the essentials and some great pastries and other fresh food as well.

We have been using Coppers since the lockdown started and we will definitely continue to use them in the future. The staff at Coppers are very knowledgeable, very helpful and I cannot praise them enough. The range of beers is great. Delivery is very helpful since we can’t get out of the house. No doubt this sort of review will go down in history after we eventually get back to normal but I really can’t thank Coppers enough for being there for us

Great choice of beers from around the UK and the rest of the world. The staff are very enthusiastic and helpful and you can even drink in the social area at the back. A great place to find new beers. They also have a grocery store if you need to eat as well!

Coppers is the best off-licence I’ve ever visited. The staff are so helpful and knowledgeable about their products it’s unreal. The selection of alcohol is staggering with ales, beers, porters etc from all over the country and the world. I read on other reviews some mention the prices but I have to say that it is more expensive than supermarkets but this is a local shop and prices are never going to be that low and there are beers (etc) that you’ll never find in any supermarket or have the enjoyment talking to the staff. They also have drinks on tap which is a great touch. Ask to see the secret bar area out the back. It’s very special.

Coppers. Takes stock from local suppliers and business and sells them at a fair price. You can find Geordie Bangers here (unbelievably brilliant sausages), along with Mandala Express curry sauces (incredible flavours made locally) both of which I discovered at Tynemouth market. They also have an incredible selection of alcohols, pale ales, IPA's, even my favourite Lindisfarne Dark Mead. Absolutely crackin, can't go wrong!

You come here for the beer. Yes they sell other stuff like food but if you don't at least look at the amazing selection of beers they stock then you're really missing a trick. Probably the best stock in the city. They also have beer on tap that you can take home with you. Limited parking is available outside. Friendly staff that are always happy to recommend the right beer for you.

Excellent selection of ales coming in on a regular basis, Local, National and International. From the ever easy going session beer down to the big hop hitters you will find something here. Staff and service are spot on too, very knowledgeable and friendly and will find you a section of beer to suit your taste. I've not really used to shop for anything but beer, but there's the usual selection you'd expect from a local shop alongside much more such as local produce.

Great place for beers and a chat. Needed some help with ordering beer for an event and they helped. Wasn't sure what to buy and they helped. In general they really are just very helpful and passionate about beers and good quality local products.

Really is a hidden gem. Best selection of real ales I've seen in Newcastle with a very knowledgeable and friendly owner. Apparently they also do tasting sessions! If you are after something a bit different then get yourself there and have a browse - you will not regret it!
