Gauntley's of Nottingham are an excellent place to buy spirits, cigars and wines from. I have bought whiskies from them for several years. What I value most of all is the integrity of advice, in depth knowledge and self-evident passion for what they're selling and customer service they provide. Further, a unique aspect of Gauntley's is that they have actually tried everything before deciding to put it on their shelves. Yes, that's correct! As a whisky drinker for instance, I know whatever it is I might want to buy, it has already been assessed by the whisky buyer as being good enough for him to recommend it. Quite simply, if he is not able to receive a sample to taste and assess, it is not even considered for purchase. For me, this approach adds to the integrity of advice, knowledge and passion that gives me confidence as a customer, to comeback to Gauntley's time and again.

Dear Gauntleys I just wanted to send my appreciation for the service and product I received. I’m a business owner myself and with the chaos year we’ve all had I promised myself when I wrapped up for Christmas I’d treat myself to a nice tipple and good cigar. After trolling the internet I found it’s a mine field when it comes to buying a cigar. I came across your website and it was so helpful, regarding advice and recommendations and found it very easy to order. I ordered a Monte Cristo and I must say, along with a nice southern comfort, you finished my year off perfectly. It was a fantastic smoke. Always get excellent service from Eann and the rest of the staff at Gauntleys. I attended a virtual cigar event last night which was an incredibly enjoyable experience. I got to smoke a couple of cigars that I probably would not normally choose and was very pleasantly surprised. All of Gauntleys events are very relaxed and you do not feel intimidated or under pressure during the experience. I like to sit and listen to those who know more or who like to chat and ask questions. There is never any pressure to join in more. Love this little cigar shop!!!! Great selection of excellent cigars and always have a few special sticks in the back room. Tons of cool accessories as well as a killer selection of whiskey and other spirits. Worth the drive if you are anywhere near the East Midlands. I only wish they were open on Sunday.

A great place to buy whisky and other spirits. A stunning selection of independent bottlings of whisky including old collectable ones. The staff on hand are very helpful and very knowledgable so you can buy with confidence. Better than many independent whisky shops in my experience. I'll definitely be going again, and again.
