I ordered 2 glass carboys on Monday afternoon 2pm and received them on Wednesday morning 10am. Amazing customer service, the carboys had comprehensive tracking and communication from the shop and delivery service. The carboys are perfect Italian glass and came super carefully packaged. Some places will say they have these in stock, take the money then source them. Not these guys. Many thanks, I’m so impressed.

Since my local Homebrew shop closed down in 2020 (they were forced to shut, got used to the idea and decided to retire as when the shop could open on a limited basis it was far too much like hard work) I have had to buy online. Initially I was in a crisis as I couldn't get S30 gas cylinders anywhere. The Hop Shop not only had stock but were very helpful and speedy. They also are very competitive on price. I used to do my own brews so I have some understanding of the quality of the starter kit and pressure barrel and extra hops I bought. Pleasantly surprised at this and the lightning speed of delivery of the whole order. This had been packed with care that seemed excessive at first but is really care enough to prevent any possibility of transit damage. Prices are as good as anywhere I could find. All good.

All the items were of the highest quality, as described in the website. As another point of merit, I forgot to order a cork for one of the demijohns, and I asked them if I had to raise a new order to have it added to the original one: they kindly offered to add that item to no extra cost to save me the hassle. I have used Hop Shop for about a year now since I started home brewing last January. Then, I was a complete novice, and relied on the excellent team (especially Peter), to give me advice on all ale and wine brewing related matters, expecially solving the many early problems that I faced with the process. I have been using hop shop for making wine for many years now, their wine kits are fantastic. You try buying a bottle any where for £1.50. The white wine 30 bottle kits for around 50 quid are great, but you need to spend around 70-80 quid to get a really good quality red. Anyway I will be buying for years.

A hidden gem and Aladdin's cave of brewing paraphernalia! I get all my kit and ingredients from here, and have never been disappointed. The staff are so friendly, approachable and always willing to advise. They supply locally produced malt (Tuckers) and offer great support to local homebrewers/winemakers, which in an ever increasingly impersonal digital age is what really puts the Hop Shop an the top of it's league. For years I wondered how such a niche shop in a low footfall area survived. Then I got bought a beer making kit. The owner of this establishment provides EXCEPTIONAL service. As a newbie, he was more than happy to provide me with as much advice as I wanted. Explaining everything without making me feel stupid or patronised. Now here is the 5 star: I went in with a particular product in mind on one visit, he actually advised on a far cheaper product, suggesting it would be more appropriate. He probably made less profit but resulted in a returning customer. He sells a huge array of products from cheap to premium beers, wines etc. Top tip: if in doubt, ASK! He really does seem to value his customers.
