Brilliant store. I visited several times over two days to buy tools and bits of ironmongery (including some bolts which I had to return & swap because they were the wrong size) and get some keys cut. Staff were really helpful & friendly. I will be back!

Basically Dockerills is just brilliant.
The staff are always really helpful, they know what they’re talking about and will do what they can to assist. They went above and beyond cutting a tricky key recently and persisted when many would have just said no.
They’re my go-to for everything ironmongery and definitely worth a visit.

I was so happy with the amazing service today from the dockerills team. Jo and Tracey were so helpful with organising a locksmith quickly, and the two locksmith gents were so efficient and friendly. Thank you so much. I will always be a regular at this store :)

Terrific family run store full of all things
Hardware. The sort of place that invariably
has exactly what you need. What shopping
Local is all about. Wonderful friendly staff.
Great display fronts the length of the shop.
Use it or lose it.

This is the very historical and traditional tools shop that you can find in Brighton. You can find very useful hand tools, accessories, paints..... and everything there. Sometimes you may find the vintage spare parts in their small corner. The staffs there are very experience and helpful. If you need to buy some tools in a convenient location, then you should visit this shop.

A huge thank you to Dockerills. I recently visited Dockerills as I needed to modify a part for a bird feeder and was hoping they would be able to help with a different fitting. Unfortunately, this was not possible as the types of fittings they stocked did not match the threading on the feeder. I explained what it was for and why I needed it and they said, that if I was willing to risk it, they would try to adapt the fastening themselves. I readily agreed and yes, it worked. I was over the moon. What marvellous service, everyone was so friendly and helpful. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dockerills, we are very fortunate to have a store like this in Brighton. providing such a great service!

Knowledgeable staff, great range. They have things in stock that hardware stores ten times the size have no knowledge of.

Remember when there used to be family-owned hardware shops that stocked just about EVERYTHING you could ever need, whose expert and friendly staff guided you through all the necessary bits and bobs that you need to do your DIY tasks, whilst charging you a very modest price? Everything, from a door hinge (of just about any and every type) to that difficult-to find little screw fitting? No, me neither. Dockerills stands alone in my experience. I hope they live forever.

Everyone is lovely, helpful and will do everything to help you with your DIY project. I'd never done any DIY before and thanks to their help and advice I just finished building my own bed. Mildred the dog is an 11/10 employee.

Absolutely incredible service. I'd bought some items from ikea and some of the parts were missing. Ikea aren't very descriptive about the names of their parts and I didn't really know what I needed but they were so helpful and knew exactly what I needed with the little bit of information I was able to provide. Glad that they're able to stay open during lockdown and thanks again for the help.

Dockeralls said that they would send a man over to repair my lock at about 9.30am.... Well I got a phone call 'on the dot' that he was outside waiting for me... A great service so well done you!

I cannot heap enough praise on Dockerill's! A really friendly and knowledgeable gentleman spent a very long time finding me just the right door furniture, phoning different suppliers and arranging delivery to my home. A truly caring family business...long may you thrive, all at Dockerill's!

A truly excellent shop. Well stocked with friendly, knowledgeable staff. The business has been in the same family since it was founded, and is now in the fifth generation. I bought my very first tools there 51 years ago, and it is just as good as it always was. In fact, I have just bought some more tools there (I still have some of the originals).

Simply the best! I've always had friendly, reliable and honest service here...the staff are great - especially Martin, who helped me (hopefully) resolve an issue with a faulty screw covering the motor Hub cover on my bile, potentially saving me hundreds of pounds. Other Ebike specialist shops snubbed me, the only people prepared to help are the locals, so thank you once again, I'd be screwed without you! (And so would the plants at my allotment, an 11mile round trip from my house) =] Prices are also very reasonable and the shop is just old skool and cool looking

I don't live in Brighton but have come to use this place when I have visited from over 20 miles away. This store exemplifies what retail service should be. Yesterday I spent all of £3.30 in there but I was treated as if I had come in to spend a million. Every time I have visited the staff have been like this. It will be a sad day if this shop ever closes. The best hardware store I have ever come across.

Why do we forget store like this when we need something? Just went to B&Q to get screws eyes for curtain rail thinking it was the cheapest place to go. How wrong was I. Nearly £4 for 10..... convenience. no. Dockerills price was under a quarter of that. Always check your local hardware store first. Quality and service great Bx

They are super helpful at Dockerills! You can take in any random nut or bolt and they will match it for you. Two of their staff recently spent ages filing down the end of a pipe I bought there, so it would do the job I needed it for. Fantastic service!

Simply the best customer service in Brighton. Friendly, polite and really helpful staff. Always a happy experience. Helped me so many times when I have been let down by lazy online retailers. Quality products.
L. W.
Very welcoming staff and knowledge with all the amateur carpentry and DIY questions that I had. Good range of wood and hardware related items and accesseries, as that is what I visited for. Great window displays too, my father and I enjoyed looking around.

Great customer service by the family run team and decent prices too! A "proper" ironmongers and hardware store located in the Lanes. I am sure they would have the right four/fork candles/handles for you!
M. W.
These guys are master Locksmiths. Superb job. I'm so glad I found them. Gary did a fantastic job fitting out new night latch and left the place immaculate. Highly recommended.

I work for Wolseley Plc @ Sussex University and we deal with Dockerills all the time for years and find them over the top helpful and polite... as mentioned by someone else any bad review must be someone who has given staff cause to defend themselves. Unbelievable choice of goods available and what they don't have in the shop they can get for you. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
G. P.
A fabulous family run business with a huge knowledge of their products, always a warm & friendly welcome. I would highly recommend Dockerills for any hardware products, they literally have anything you ever need!

Really satisfying shop. Well staffed by knowledgeable people and everything I buy seems well sourced and of quality for a fair price. Feel fortunate to have this nearby.
M. G.
This shop stands out due to its high level of customer service, the staff take the time to listen and advise and help you no matter what the project you are undertaking. It does get very busy in there however so it's advisable to be patient.
