Alan’s service is simply impeccable. Phoned to make an appointment for a quote on a non-urgent repair/ opinion on the issue I was having with my door and locks, within fifteen minutes Alan was at my doorstep as he was “only having lunch between jobs”. After describing my issue Alan undertook a thorough examination of both door and locks identifying issues with each (some of which I was already aware). Painstakingly he rectified each issue as well as some cosmetic and functional problems we hadn’t even discussed, just because they were not to his standard. On completion of the work, he checked and re-checked the functionality of both door and locks, whilst constantly making little changes to ensure that their full operation was one hundred percent prior to declaring the job complete. Throughout the process Alan demonstrated a high degree of professionalism and perfectionism. The big question as always is the cost, which is always a concern. Not to kiss and tell on what I paid, however the invoice was exceptionally reasonable considering the extensive work undertaken and the length of time Alan spent at my property compared to information gleaned from the internet on standard charges for locksmiths. I cannot recommend Alan’s services highly enough.

I had a double glazed door that decided to fail in the closed position. Not an emergency but needed fixing. We have not been able to lock our french doors for 6 months, whilst we have had a couple of people out to look at it over this time, they have not been able to offer a permanent fix and one said they would order parts and did not return! Alan arrived on time, he quickly assessed the issue and explained in simple terms what was wrong, what he would need to do to correct and fix the problem and how much it would cost. We called out Lockforce due to a broken handle and bent hinges on our upvc front door .We was told by another company that it needed a new door at a cost of around £800 and we would have to wait 8 weeks but Lockforce come out on a bank holiday and fitted a new handle and lock and new hinges they re aligned the door and left the door working. I can’t recommend this company enough they are truly one of those companies that gives you faith in tradesmen where so many fail. they were quick to respond and it was a challenging repair but they repaired it to a very high standard . He managed to fix our lock and make our home safe again within another 20 minutes despite having to completely change the gearbox of our lock. I cannot recommend Alan from Lockforce Locksmiths highly enough. I had the very unfortunate experience of shearing off the handle of my front door on a Friday evening. By Saturday lunchtime Alan had repaired the handle and more importantly found the root cause of the breakage and repaired the alignment of the door itself. He also took the time to re-adjust the locking of my back door which I had thought was beyond repair! All this for a very reasonable price. Not surprisingly I will have Alan service the doors and windows annually from now on. I only wish my front door handle had fallen off just after I had moved in last year! Oh how I've struggled with these doors!

This morning my the lock to my flat broke. I was on my way out to work & was in a bit of a panic. I called Alan at Lockforce - he picked up the phone after 2 rings and was at my flat in 20 mins. It turned out my whole lock system for my door had broken. He talked through the different locks, and went through in why my last lock system had broken. Alan replaced quickly with a new locking system - which is way more secure than the last lock I had. Alan also provided 3 keys - all provided in the cost (which was very reasonable price) This was all done very quickly and at a very good price. Alan was very friendly and professional. I cannot recommend enough. He really saved the day!

On Sunday morning, I called Alan and asked him for a quote and I was surprised at how much cheaper he was to all the other numbers I had called around Colchester. I asked him how quickly he could get round as my dogs were trapped inside (I had left the keys on the inside of both the front and back door) and he was round within 10 minutes! He was very friendly and honest about everything and tried his best to ensure he didn’t have to drill through the lock (and save me another £60). His persistent paid off and he eventually got us in without drilling! I would highly recommend this locksmith to anyone around Colchester or Ipswich!
