Quite embarrassingly we required CMS to let us back into our house a second time yesterday (remembering to bring keys with us is apparently hard work). He was with us within 10 minutes and we were back in the house within 15 minutes, the first time we rang was late at night and even then he was with us within 20 minutes! Chris came out really quickly and spent a huge amount of time trying to fix my gearbox so as to be able to over me the best value for money, however when it couldn't be salvaged he found and fitted it all within an hour. He also realigned my door so it wasn't catching and damaging the lock. Absolutely brilliant, it's just a shame he doesn't do plumbing and electrics as I would call him for everything.

We contacted Chris to look at a lock which had suddenly stopped working after 23 years - and of course was locked when it failed! Instead of taking the more expensive, and I suspect easier, route Chris opted to remove the lock, take it apart and inspect it to see if it could be made serviceable again. Couldn't open my own front door at 5pm on Christmas Eve! Aaaagh! Phoned in increasing desperation a number of locksmiths and Chris was the first to really pick up meaning I could speak to a human rather than to a machine. Immediately he couldn't have been more helpful, even calling me back within a few minutes to say he was now on his way. 10 mins later he arrived... Problem was the day before we had left a key on the inside of the front door and one of our party had tried to push it out from the front with a little wooden stick. That day we had been saved by us having a back door key but no such luck on Xmas Eve. I had told myself to check the front door was OK and that no little pieces of wood had got stuck inside before going out the next day but clean forgot to do so before heading out to do some last minute Xmas shopping.... ….within a couple of (worrying for me) minutes Chris managed to effect access through the front door. Initially he couldn't then get the wood inside out to clear the lock for future use, but rather than just quickly fitting me a new lock for a more expensive price he spent quite a few minutes with WD40 and his toolkit cleaning the lock innards out for me and eventually the malign bits of wood dropped out. The price charged for opening the door and saving our Christmas was really reasonable and I was happy to pay. In the circumstances Chris could not have been a more personable or likeable guy and I now carry his number with me in case of any other future ridonkulous incidents. All in all CSM Security Locksmiths gave me a better 2019 Christmas present that either Santa Claus himself or - ha - my wife did!. The lock now not only works fine it works so much more easily and smoothly than it did before So thanks so much Chris for saving our Xmas and best wishes to you and CSM for 2020. 366 more opportunities to help people locked out of their homes each day!.
