I have just been at the receiving end of the best service i have ever came across. I am a trainee paramedic due to go on nightshift and I stupidly locked myslef out my flat, my uniform and kit were in my flat and I was unable to contact my out of hour service. I called Beni from Keys4U Locksmith ans he was here within 20 mins of me calling him and explaining my dilema. He managed to pick the lock within 20 mins and needless to say I was jumping around with excitement as I really didnt know what I was going to do. Was initially told that the locksmith would arrive within 30 minutes but then received a call to say he would be at my address in over an hour. My lock did not need replacing ..it only had to be opened using a plastic sheet of card..and for this I was charged 59 pounds plus vat which equated to 70 odd pounds. I would recommend to the company to charge lower rates if no hardware is actually being replaced as 70 pounds for a 2 minute job is a complete rip off and unjustifiable in today's economy.

We locked ourselves out with our 3 year old boy on Saturday evening. We called a number of locksmiths but had no joy. We called Keys4U Locksmith and Benn arrived within 15 - 20 mins. He explained the costs to pick the lock over the phone upfront. On arrival He also explained there were no call out charges. It wasn’t an easy lock to pick and hence we agreed to get the locks changed. It wasn’t any easy to change the lock but Jon carried out the work with great workmanship and patience. This company Keys4U Locksmith network helped us by making a key for our home, it was such an amazing experience they were there in 35 minutes, made us a key and charged us only £120, thanks to them. The bill was £170 because they don't include the 20% VAT and they charge £89 for a lock you can buy in a shop for £20. I guess they bank on desperate customers! My job was not urgent anyway, but they said the costs are the same on a week day. Also, the extreme sarcasm of the locksmith was quite amusing to us, but may appear confusing or rude to other customers. Problem is that the website I used gave a different name for the company so you only see these reviews after you get your invoice!

Rang here and the person i spoke with was friendly and upfront about cost and time it would take. They was on time and was back inside in seconds. Positive: I locked myself out and the locksmith opened my door quickly. Negatives: 1) I was quoted on the phone a minimum of £79, if the easiest method worked (which was the case), however the 'quote' didn't include VAT. The actual minimum was £94.80, which I was charged. I had to call the company to check that their technician wasn't ripping me and them off. If they had given me the correct minimum quote initially, it would have saved me the shock and confusion and allowed me to more accurately compare the quote with other companies quotes. 2) I prearranged a time, but was left standing in the cold for 38 minutes - perhaps expecting too much, but this could have been managed a lot better with clearer communication from the company.

I have no doubt he was efficient and knew his job, but I found him patronising. He made it clear that he thought the problem with the lock lay with me, telling me I needed to calm down when opening the door. It required a second trip on his part to install the second lock once it arrived, which he did with no additional charge. Quick service; the locksmith was with me within the hour and was quick and tidy. I was a little disappointed in the price though, which I why I have given 3 stars. I was told on the phone that the cheapest lock would be £20 (with the £69 labour and VAT to be added). However the locksmith told me the cheapest he had with him was £40 (?!), which was obviously different to what I had been quoted. I ended up paying £117, when I wanted it under £100 😞 I know its only around £20 difference, but that every penny counts; especially this side of Christmas.

That didn't work so we made an appointment for the following night and he texted me his (reasonable) charge for the job. He showed up exactly on time.
