Had my first Hijama experience done at Qaya Clinic, Birmingham. Like many first-timers, I was sceptical and nervous. But Sana was a wonderful therapist; putting me at ease from start to finish. The clinic itself is modern, but not hospital-like (a nice, apartment-homely welcoming feeling), the treatment room was hygienic and comfortable. After explaining my ailments (physical and psychological), she was thorough, attentive and understanding in her level of experience, that she would explain both the physical/medical and spiritual Islamic aspects and benefits of the treatment. Sana and the team really tailor your cupping experience in the first (and even second) consultation so that you don’t proceed with anything incorrectly. The treatment itself can cause discomfort, quite a bit of tightness and manageable pain from cup suction and incision cuts (esp for slim bodies like me!), but the relief felt immediately after the entire thing was like a burden being lifted from my entire body; it felt peculiarly lighter. So long as you are honest about your conditions and have faith in the treatment, they will be honest with you! I would definitely recommend Qaya Clinic for first-timers, and I myself may actually consider future treatments with them as and when needed. Thank you!

What can I say, I've only had 2 sessions and it's literally been life changing for me. I've suffered with back issues for years and Alhamdhulila more or less straight after the first session I was pain free, it felt weird not having an ache or twinge in my lower back. After a couple of days I could feel an energy boost too. Sana is such a professional and loving therapist. I was nervous at first but she made feel relaxed while I was there. The experience itself was fine, my back and neck had a lot of knots etc, the cupping massage was slightly uncomfortable the first time round but once I relaxed it was fine. The wetting cupping I was scared at first but it literally just feels like little scratches. The session lasted about 40/45 min. I will definitely be making this as part of my routine, every 6 weeks. Amazing experience! Haroon was very knowledgable about his work, I’m a very attentive person and even though I like speaking to people as a personal trainer he made me feel relaxed and comfortable! You can definitely hear the passion in what he does. The cupping treatment was relaxing and I felt very light after. The only negative side was when I sit back against something the bruising which lasts for 7-10 days is really sensitive, so watch out and don’t shift to much when resting your back against something. The treatment room was immaculately clean, and Haroon explained the cleaning process and the type of instruments to be used. He is quite educated, gives good advice and brings in Ahadith and scientific analysis to describe the benefits of Hijama. He does take care when using blades on skin at first i was very apprehensive about scarring but he reassured Me. Haroon was very knowledgeable about Hijama and is a great practitioner. This was my first time having Hijama and he put me at ease and told me exactly what was going to happening at each stage. I had the hijama because I have issues with my knees - after any sporting or walking activity, they swell up and i feel a tightening around my knees whereby I walk like an 80 year old for the next 3 days (very gingerly and unsure of my footing). The Hijama helped reduce the swelling on my knees and I am more mobile as a result. The real benefit was seen after 24 hours. This weekend I have played cricket and my knees have not swollen up and I am much more mobile. As part of my session with Haroon, I also had Hijama done on my back to de-stress and help me relax. Again that has contributed to my feelings of well being - but my biggest focus was my knees and mobility, and this is where I saw the most benefit.
