Aqua springs is a great spa day on a budget option. There are several different spa experiences like the hydro pools, saunas and steam rooms. The theming of the spa is lovely. We paid for the spa escape packages which included the facial, manicure and back massage. The therapists were friendly and the treatments were great. There is a couple things however that would make it better , as it is linked to the leisure centre I believe their members can come anytime which can make areas crowded and feel less luxurious. The other patrons especially those regulars talk quite loudly in the saunas etc and it takes away from the relaxing environment. The other thing is there is a real lack of seating and loungers and if your on a spa day you expect to be able to leave a towel and a book somewhere for you to come back to and relax without having to go in and out the changing room and finding a seat. There's only six loungers ( 2 were broken). The spa was clean and had good changing facilities however around the pools etc the water seemed to settle and make it very slippy. Lastly we had lunch at the cafe. The jacket potatoes and smoothies are lovely but the Panini's aren't worth the money. The cake however and hot drinks were all very good. Overall you get what you pay for and it's a lovely option for those looking for a bit of pampering on a budget.

Nice steam rooms, sauna. Cold plunge pool & small pool also a couple of Jacuzzis. At a reasonable price £16 for the whole day . Food n drink on sale nearby. Relaxation area too. Treatments but book early prob days b4. It's just noisey people who think there the only ones in there, no consideration for those who want peace. Well, that's my small gripe which is not about the service as such. I had nice steam.

This spa is GREAT!!! What a wonderful day out... It has pretty much everything one would desire for a day spa, hydrotherapy whirlpool, aromatherapy steam room, salt inhalation steam room, cooling pool with waterfall, plunge pool and more and there's a well thought out eatery on site. I visited yesterday (Saturday afternoon) the cost is cheap as you pay once and stay as long as you like. Yea, great day out would absolutely recommend this place. Oh, I forgot to say there is so much space; approx 6 steam and sauna rooms, 2 massive whirlpools and a big cooling pool so the Spa never felt over crowded.

Best place to relax in Colchester. 3 hot water pools (different tips of jacuzzi), 5 sauna/steam rooms and 2 cold water pools (different temperatures) to cool dawn after the sauna. Perfect place.

Amazing place to relax. £16 per person in the week, no time limit and no need to book. Jacuzzi, cooling pool, steam room, saunas and a salt steam room which is my favourite! There's also a sunbed area and little cafe inside. So glad we found this place; when I get time off work, this place is 1st on my list of ideas where to go!

Bring your own towel! Towels are not provided! Certainly more on the leisure centre spa side than a relaxing and calm spa. The building is very large and everything is constructed on a large scale, in order to cater too many people at once. Example: the hot tub is more of a hot pool in which 20 people could comfortably fit (though not comfortably sit or lie due to the odd seat/beds). The spa rooms (sauna steam aromatherapy etc.) are all good and serve their purpose well but there is not a lot of seating or relaxation space in general. The reason for the three stars is based on two factors: - This had the trappings of a spa, but feels more like a leisure centre recovery area - At £16 per person and no towels offered, this is entirely overpriced! I've paid less for month long gym subscriptions AND got a towel included with every visit. The price might be defensible if this was offered as a luxury spa, but as mentioned, its more of a leisure centre recovery area than a place of relaxtion and recharge.

A lot of potential but after paying more then £17 it is very difficult to justify the money when you look around and see all the wear and tear with tiles missing and dirty saunas. .It really needs a good refurbishment and refresh. I would be happy to pay this price for new clean steam and sauna rooms.

Lovely little place. It has 2 jacuzzi pools, various versions of sauna and steam rooms, aromatherapy room and a small pool. It has a little coffee place inside so you can leave the pool and have a snack there or a drink. Price is very reasonable.

What can I say. Been going to this place for over 20 years. What makes this place a special Gem for me is a Therapist call Carla. Embarrassed of having therapy because I have PD and shake like a leaf, she made me feel like a normal person and was not fazed by my condition. A true professional. One of her massages gives 45 minutes of not shaking, bliss. I'm sure the other therapists are all great too, however I only reccomend Carla to my other shaky friends. Only thing I would ever change about Aqua springs is personal membership for the Spa only. All round a great place.

I love, love, love going here. I went with my sister and arrived as they opened. They let me know to put my vehicle registration in the system so I wouldn't be charged for parking and were polite. The facilities were wonderful and we left there so relaxed and rejuvenated. The saunas and eucalyptus room were my favourites.

Overall it’s a really good facility here especially for council run . Steam room is big inside as is salt inhalation room , there are various saunas from mild to very hot and very spacious hydration pool . The jacuzzi can get a bit crowded , it’s clean enough as well , I went during a weekday and it wasn’t to busy but I imagine during a weekend it will be really busy . You can easily spend all day here and there is a nice little cafe and wooden au beds to rest for a while if you want a bit of shut eye or to read a magazine , also water fountain is a good touch in order to stay hydrated . So a really good facility here

I love coming here to relax after a full week of work and it's always a welcome visit with chilled vibes and friendly staff! The facilities are always clean and tidy and there's plenty of space for all to enjoy. My only criticism is the showers are a little small to fit around the door with a handful of shampoo etc. Other than that, it's a great place for the adults to get some peace and quiet.

Haven't been here before, but loved it! All the facilities of a spa at a fraction of the cost! My favourite room was the aromatherapy room, great clean space, beautiful lighting and heated stone benches. A variety of jacuzzi's to get in, nice decor, would of been 5 star had the service in the cafe and staff been better, waiting times for food were a bit excessive when it was quiet!! Would still go back though.

So invigorating we stayed 4 hours and loved every moment - jacket potatoes and fillings were excellent and cake slices were the best quality. Saunas offered at various temperatures and humid or dry air. Small shallow pool for safe swimming and a cold plunge pool.

Good for private bookings. I can only recommend that as I have not tried with other unknown guests. Enjoy treatment rooms such as aromatherapy. Very helpful for sinus' and the such. Interior is better than the outside would suggest. Lovely friendly and helpful staff.

It is a great facility, looks good with a good range of different saunas. Unfortunately lacks towel regs (To sit with back, bum and feet on your towel) degrading hygiene on seats. On the whole, great staff and a relaxing day out. I would also recommend the monthly ticket of £53 as often as you wish. I saved a fortune normaly visiting 3 times a week at £13.50 a day. To top it all off, they have a fantastic offer for Armed Forces and Veterans of £28 pound monthly.

Lovely therapist and enjoyed the treatment, but the whole place is a bit shabby! It's not very restful being able to hear the noise from the pool whilst being massaged etc. either. It's a shame as I'd go more often if it was more of a luxurious experience. After all they charge the same price as more salubriius spas.

Very clean facilities, helpful staff. If you are new to spa's, note the salt inhalation room is extremely hot! Although that's probably the point, it was much hotter than the volcano sauna or the steam sauna. All in all very pleasant and relaxing.

Had a wrap treatment which was a bit underwhelming. Not the usual all out pampering, just missing lots of different details, lighting wasn't nice, room was too cold, no hot towel for the feet, needed more communication yoo.

Nice spa with large bubble pool, several sauna and steam rooms and too other pools. All these facilities can be used for £13 - £15 per person (dependent on day). No treatments needed. Also small cafe in which we enjoyed so nice smoothies. Great way to relax the hours away. Only downside is the changing rooms which are outdated and very basic leisure centre style. Overall a great experience.

As for the spa it was massively busy with almost every part so full you couldn't get it them. I highly recommend this place. I could stay here all day. I believe one needs to book for the beauty treatments but there is no need for booking to use the spa. They have 5 different types of saunas, and nice food for a quick grub. It is a place very well looked after. If you plan a day out and are willing to travel to Colchester, this is the place to go.

We came here for a relaxing experience but found the atmosphere generated by a minority of the clientele spoiled it. The bad language and generally disrespectful behaviour was rife despite a sign requesting clients to keep noise down and to refrain from using bad language. Otherwise the facilities are well provided and maintained. Choose your visit times carefully is my advice.

Just wanted to leave a quick review as I visited Aqua Springs today and had a very enjoyable visit. 26 weeks pregnant, I decided to take myself off for a spa day as part of my birthday treat. I wasn’t sure what to expect as reviews are quite mixed, I ordered my jacket potato for lunch when I arrived at reception which I took note of from a previous review. (Pleased I did as none were left later on) I told them when I would want it and they kindly took note of my order and said they would save one for me. The lady brought this over at 1pm and it was massive, fluffy and full of filling...perfect! The facilities were lovely and had all different types of saunas, two large jacuzzi’s, a cooling pool with plounge pool and loungers. I spent 5 hours here today and would happily return..the only reason I didn’t give a 5 out if 5 was because of the showers in the changing rooms as they were a bit dirty, however I spent a total of £20 on entry, lunch and a latte..can’t say fairer than that..I will be returning 😁👍

Positives: The steam and sauna rooms were really nice. Treatments were fantastic. I had the full body exfoliation, upper body massage and facial. Reception staff were lovely. Negatives: Spa itself was quite noisy as there were a few groups of people there together. The ladies changing room was quite messy and did not seem like they were cleaned regularly. Overall, I would definitely recommend Aqua Springs just make sure you take flip flops and a towel.

Great place for a relax, the faciliites are good had a refurb not long ago. Shame the mens changing area hasn't changed. Its quite small and the floor is always wet; its difficult keeping trousers from touching the floor upon changing. Worth adding some mats, so water runs through to the floor?

One of my favourite places to relax and unwind, Aqua Springs is fantastic value for money and with the latest renovations they now have some great saunas, steam room, salt inhalation room and of course lots of pools with different intensities of water jets. The cafe has a good range of food options (book your jacket potatoes when you arrive as they can sell out!) and there's an area to chill out, lie and read for as long as you like! Treatments are very popular and book up a fair way in advance so it's always a good idea to call ahead if you intend on booking one.

I do really like going here and go almost every week, but in the past have had problems with people taking photos in the changing rooms (single gender), staff didn't seem sympathetic at all. They have now put up a sign after I complained several times.

Me and my partner have a full leisure world membership the spa, sauna, and steam rooms are great, usually we start with the spa, then to a sauna, then either the steam room or salt room, then into the cooling down pool. Its great to come here after being to the gym.

I love going to aqua springs, although it can be a bit crowded at times, especially in the evenings. Good facilities, friendly staff and a wide range of treatments available too. Be careful with your belongings as I had an expensive waterproof coat stolen during my last visit, from inside my locker.

Parking is free, you give your car reg when paying to go in. Changing room is small and no individual ones. £1 pay lockers. The round Jacuzzi is warm and large but if you are short the pre-formed seats are difficult to keep seated on. The hydrospa is great. One side has seats and jets all the way along, the other is for standing and has a large water jet in the middle and smaller ones round the side. We spent most of our time in this. We experienced seeing a disabled person being lifted into the hydrospar and we were horrified to note that no equipment was used and the poor man fell quite heavily. There are multiple saunas and spa rooms. The volcano sauna was far too hot for us. There is a salt spa, a small sauna, an aromatherapy room and a large steam room. All very good, especially the aromatherapy one. There is a cold pool and an even colder plunge pool. There is a bucket of cold water you can tip over you. There a a few lounge beds, not enough. There is a small caffe, I ordered a jacket potatoes which was stone cold. However, they did go to the adjoining cafe and got me another. There is a hair dryer, showers and toilets all in the ladies changing area. It was a good day relaxing and pampering

If your a gym bunny and want to relax your aching muscles this place is for you, if you just want to relax this place is for you, and if you like to be pampered this place is for you. Aqua springs is a lovely facility for of jacuzzis, sauna's and stream rooms where you can also book massages, facials and other treatments to spoil yourself. We didn't have any treatments just used the sauna and jacuzzis etc. There is still loads to do and enjoy and you can easily lose 2 hours plus and feel great afterwards. It's not perfect it could do with a makeover and the price is creeping up (£16+ at peak time) and if you can avoid the peak time then you will avoid the fact it can get really busy.

Fab choice of Jacuzzi's and saunas. They have salt sauna, volcano sauna, lavender sauna and a phew more and a lovely shallow cool down pool to cool yourself off in after. They have a lovely food bar there that provide a range of healthy foods and smoothies. You must visit to gain the full experience.
