Initially I started working with Craig when I had signed up for my first marathon and needed some advice and help to prepare. In the first consultation he was able to help me to identify what training I would benefit from which included strength and conditioning work alongside improving my running endurance. The sessions were individually tailored to my needs and flexible. I noticed marked improvement in both my strength and running form. Craig has since adapted my sessions to fit in with my changing goals and has made each training session interesting, challenging and enjoyable. He is able to offer sensible nutrition advice which is sustainable and realistic, again, adapting for personal requirements. During the difficulties within the past year due to the pandemic, I have found that my motivation to improve my fitness and eat well has increased and would put this largely down to Craig making the sessions realistic and adaptable if the gym is not accessible. Craig is very personable, professional and knows what he is talking about. I trust Craig’s advice completely and would recommend him to anyone who is looking for advice no matter what their goals.

I have been going to see Craig for sports massages for nearly a year now. Craig is friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. Before my first appointment with Craig I had awful lower back pain which was preventing me from training. Now, with regular sports therapy massages, I don’t suffer with any back pain. I have been going to Craig at Active Performance for a number of years now. I am an injury-prone runner and working with Craig, and the techniques that he uses in sports massage, have been vitally important and very effective in keeping me running and more importantly, running pain-free. I am no marathon runner, but the miles that I do achieve each week are important to me, so the effectiveness of Craig’s work has been essential. I strongly recommend contacting him about any issues that you are experiencing, as he has resolved a number of different (but somewhat related) problems that I have experienced in my knee, hip, and foot. Easily accessible through the Enderby Leisure Centre means that it is also very simple to attend appointments (no issues with parking etc).

Craig is a great coach - we worked together to develop my Olympic lifting technique and build a strength and conditioning plan for Triathlon. Craig is very knowledgeable, professional and always polite but very friendly. His massages sort out injuries and tight muscles but don’t go in thinking it’s a relaxing experience!! But well worth it.

Review on massage treatment:
I've found Craig to be professional and deliver highly trust worthy services, treatment and accurate assessment that makes a real difference.
For example I currently have a shoulder issue which has long term discomfort and limitation. I've had multiple physio, consultant and chiropractic consultations with little success. I brought this problem to Craig attention and he conducted a thorough assessment and applied treatment which regained my mobility and relieved my pain.
I have bought bulk massage sessions and will continue to use Active Performance. I'd recommend to others for one time treatment or regular services.

I have received personal training with Active Performance for a number of years now. I first met Craig over 15 years ago when I wanted to lose weight and get fit and strong. He got me lean and fit for my wedding, then helped me lose the weight I had gained after pregnancy and more recently has helped me get strong again since working from home and becoming lazy during the pandemic!
Craig is a fantastic coach. Really motivational, friendly, encouraging and never intimidating. He is results driven and takes pride in personalising programmes to meet individual needs.
I have recently enjoyed (maybe not enjoyed haha) a very good sports massage. I suffer with pain in shoulders and hips and he really helped ease tension and improve mobility.
I would highly recommend Craig. I really enjoy working with him. Cool, calm, collected. But definitely performance driven!!

I started having PT sessions with Craig just before Christmas and what a fantastic experience it was. I’ve been going to the gym for many years now and have always done classes as lack confidence in the gym and using the gym equipment. Craig set up an initial consultation with me to gain an understanding of what I wanted to achieve, he set up a great program which did push me out of my comfort zone but gave me the motivation that I needed. Craig gave me such support and was so reassuring when I thought I couldn’t do something and with his support and encouragement I realised I could. I continued to to focus on the areas we had worked on and was able to push myself and gain the confidence I needed to go it alone too. It felt great to be able to go into the gym and start using the equipment the correct way with confidence.

If a hard-working, highly motivational, knowledgeable, holistic, supportive, no nonsense, but equally funny and friendly PT is what you are looking for then Craig is your chap.
He has been my PT for over 15 years and consistently ensures that I never get an easy session (apart from when I was having treatment a few years ago - they may have been a tad easier!).
What started out as a push to be leaner and fitter for a significant birthday has morphed into training to run half marathons, complete sprint triathlons and learning front crawl to (one day) complete a half ironman.
He knows his stuff and makes sure that you are rarely in your comfort zone as no two sessions are the same ; the aching limbs and sore core muscles the following day are testament to that.
Craig may push you to your physical limit and then a bit more but he is always happy to offer words of support and advice if you are struggling with your mental health. He has helped me through some hard times over the last few years and I am happy to call him my friend.

If you have a PT goal I highly recommend Craig. I started cycling PT sessions with Craig as I had a team charity event that I needed to train for and I didn't want to let the team down by being slow.
Craig got to know me quickly and found ways to push me to a higher level of cardio fitness than I've ever had before. What I didn't realise was how much mental stamina training I would get too!
We completed the event as the fastest mixed team on what must have been one of the wetest days of the year. I like my PT sessions so much I've carried on even after the event.

Three years ago I damaged nerves in my foot running and haven't been able to since. After two years and two stone, Active Performace's IronMan Craig Twigg sent me to see Claire at PhysioSynergy. Between them they have literally changed my life. I weighed 92kg (14.5 stone) back then, was unable to walk or stand for more then an hour and .. not nice to live with.
Between them, they not only showed me how to manage the pain but also fixed my gait and all of the related [back] pains (which I'd thought was me just getting old).
Craig got me spinning and training properly for the first time in years, to the point where I'm now 80kg and fitter and stronger than I've ever been.
I need an operation to fix my foot properly, which I imagine will be a long time coming under COVID, but thanks to Craig and Claire's amazing work I'm finding new ways to work through it, keep strong, and be nicer to live with.
