I had a lovely experience at Kalmatherapies. Both Giovanna and Noel are warm, welcoming, knowledgeable and professional. I left feeling calm, grounded and renewed. Well worth the experience!

Giovanna is welcoming, empathetic, professional, intuitive and extremely talented. The bath ritual and massage takes you to unrivalled depths of relaxation and peace. I visited Kalma for the 120 minute version of the water bath massage treatment. As others have noted Giovanna is amazing and the environment is magical. The experience was comforting and revitalising and just what I needed after a particularly traumatic period. Why then withhold the fifth star? Only because by the very highest standards that Giovanna sets I think there were some easily remedied shortfalls or inauthentic notes. Firstly the format of the experience has changed - probably for the better - but it is no longer as described on the website. Giovanna has minimised the use of colour therapy because it was proving distracting within the treatment experience. The website description needs updated in this regard. Secondly, perhaps because of inappropriate behaviour by certain clients, Giovanna seems to have almost lost her nerve around some phases of the therapy. The beautiful bathing ritual which is meant to be a true ceremony of innocence and rebirth is slightly undercut by the required placement of a face flannel over the private parts. The massage elements although beautifully delivered are similarly compromised by a towel technique as rigid as any beauty spa aromatherapist. Finally and most seriously the chakra crystal mapping ceremony is rendered inaccurate due to a perceived need to avoid the root chakra. It is a great shame if a genuinely brilliant therapist has been pushed off the fully authentic path by some inappropriately attuned clients. This feedback is given based on my own perhaps purist previous experiences of tantra guided therapy and chakra balancing. Whether or not Giovanna adjusts her approach I will certainly look to return - if she will have me - for a further healing session.

I recently visited Kalma Therapies, and had the Bath Ritual Massage, Giovanna provided a warm welcome and this massage experience was exceptional, it took me to a level of calm and peacefulness that I have never felt before, the whole experience is something else, so healing and tranquil, you feel like a new person when you leave and don't want it to end. I felt truly enlightened after experiencing a massage from Giovanna. Not only from a relaxing point of view, but on a spiritual level too. She was able to read me like a book and made uncannily accurate suggestions on a way forward which only I could know. I will be following her advice with a deeper sense of purpose. Giovanna is a deeply spiritual person and has the gift of healing hands to take you to a place in your mind that with such busy & stressful working lives, we often tend to neglect. I’m a 40 year man who sought to cure a simple headache with a deep tissue massage but found myself opting for the keenly priced bath ritual, and was suddenly confronted with being at one nature - and what I mean by that is I found myself on regressive trip back to a time where the mother is so profound. Giovanna’s magical touch makes you feel safe and protected as you close your eyes and float into unchartered waters, triggering memories that you didn’t really think you still had. The subconscious takes centre stage. The senses awaken, confused, disoriented but in a calm and welcome way. Combine this with the fluctuations in light and ambient sounds and it’s hard to not wish that 90 minutes was not 900 minutes. If you are lucky enough to also enjoy a connection with a Giovanna then this is something you’ll definitely be happy you tried out.
