I went to Mike on a Friday afternoon to fix a problem I had with the throttle. He fixed it on no time and have haves good look at the bike as well. Very good mechanic.

Mark has helped me out a couple of times now, most recently when someone tried to hot wire and steal my scooter. It was quite badly damaged but Mark came and picked it up and had it back up and running the same day! He is an honest person who is running a great business and I can’t recommend him enough :)

Where can I start with Mark, fab gentleman. Replaced my engine due to my old one blowing up. Took the bike In without ordinarily being booked in aswell. Been going to Mark 1 Motorcycles (roughly 7+ years) Only downside I would say that my wallet wasn't happy with the amount I had to pay. Quick YouTube search and genuinely wish I had just did it myself. I did get the impression from the lads that it was/maybe hard to do so hence bike was stationed/at mark's. Been a few other occasions lately / past few years where I've been charged mega for minimal work. For example, replacing studs and bolts on my previous bike which bolts were only removed from. £60 for this job, another time when I needed a single front bolt installed for my disc which I got charged £25 for a bolt to be put in... Another last example but there's many more, had a little accident and handlebars were slightly bent to the right. Took bike into Marks and an hour later, bike was fixed but got charged £240 or £340, I can t remember the exact number but was a bit of a shock. I'm a laid by dude and I rarely want to have any negative encounters but I do feel sometimes leaving Mark 1 Motorcycles that I've been ripped/played with. Had quotes from other garages for a much lesser price after work was already completed. I understandable from a business point of view of why the amount I was charged for. However, a quote would be very helpful/useful as most other garages I've spoken to has happily quoted for how much the work will be or at the very least, an "estimate" so I would know how much the job will be & would it be worth taking bike to get fixed etc

Mark is a bike Guru. I can never go past his place to get work done on my bike. By far the only guy I will let near my bike. The guy really really knows his stuff. Reasonably priced too 😊

Very friendly and honest. For the MOT and repairs I got quoted a bunch of money at another place and the guy in the front was quite good and said better to go elsewhere the repair isn't gonna be worth it. So I went to Mark and he's discovered stuff on the bill that wasn't even right (repair for a different type of brake for example) that lead to higher cost. Marks final bill was 40% of the original bill, when I thought it was gonna be 60-70% of the original sum going by the job list of the first place. I would never have known. Mark's a gem 💎

This was my first time.using Mark and the only thing I can say is that he is fantastic. My xj600 was hanging on for dear life until.Mark was able to get his hands on it and has breathed a second wind into an already old bike. He was upfront about everything, was reasonable with the price and was wonderful to deal with despite me being a particularly annoying customer asking for last minute odds and ends to be checked whilst he had it. Overall a great service from a great guy. Highly recommended.

This guy do good job what is worth to appreciate but he didn't listen to me at first service. I've asked to repair my indicator which wasn't done after first full service but got it done week after. I've been charged way too much for labourer which could be done at first visit

Went there after a bike accident due to issues with my forks. Mark helped a huge amount and sorted them fairly quickly and for an incredible price. A few months ago I had a nail in my tire which I also got fixed there again for a great price. Great place and friendly owner, will definitely use again.

Mark is a top mechanic, if not the best in Edinburgh, who is always professional and gets any job done quickly and efficiently. Beside that, Mark is always friendly and as a first time motorcyclist I found it very helpful that he would always take the time to show me what was up with my Motorbike (especially as I got stung with a bad Gumtree purchase which two wheels wouldn’t go anywhere near...). Had my KTM990 in with Mark for a service, pre MOT check and tyre change. All completed in one day and for a fraction of what KTM dealer wanted. The bike is running like it has new engine. Top service from a top bloke and cheap. Highly recommended.

The engine of my 2016 Lexmoto 50cc Milano completely crashed out on me 5 days ago requiring an AA roadside rescue! Engine obliterated sadly. After sourcing a second hand engine on Ebay as recommended, it was delivered yesterday evening directly to the garage, Mark had it ready for me to pick up less than 24 hours later. Super communication, friendly and highly recommend. Thank you so much Mark for getting me back on the road again super quick.

New bike. 1st service. Great job. Sorted side stand problem and wasn't going to charge me for it. Gave him extra for a beer or two for the extra work. Would recommend. I will continue to use him for any further work needed on this and future bikes.

I have used Mark 1 Motorcycles for the past 15 years and can honestly say that I have never been let down by him. I have had all kinds of motorcycles in my time and when I have gone to Mark, it has never mattered what the model, engine size, motorcycle type was. From small engine size run-arounds, up to the larger Honda Blackbird that I currently run, I can't think of any single occasion where an issue was left unresolved. Mark has helped me out of a tricky spot on numerous occasions where I've had attempted thefts on my bike, punctures and other misfortunes which have left me unable to move the vehicle or transport it to the garage. I've always felt that his pricing has been reasonable. Knowing that the job is going to get done, and get done right by someone who knows what he's doing goes a long way. If anyone has had a bad experience with any of the major motorcycle dealerships in and around Edinburgh, paid too much or wasn't confident about the work carried out.... I'd thoroughly recommend giving Mark1Motorcycles a try!
