My first experience of buying a motorcycle after my CBT. Incredible customer service, as soon as my foot stepped through their door until after the bike was delivered. Had a small technical problem with the bike after delivery but was sorted very quickly. Cannot recommend Portman Motors enough!

I bought my Royal Alloy GT 125 in May, it had a slight hole in the seat, called up and got changed under warranty no fuss. Had its 1st service on the 7th July and scooter going well, wee issue with fuel sender, again no fuss ordered under warranty, Brian - Service Manager was excellent as was Irene who dealt with my sale. No issues with using Portman's, despite what I had read.

Used them a few times and every time I couldn't fault the service. Prices are decent but just sure you top up the tank fully before taking it back. All the vans I have hired have all been relatively new with no running issues.

I have nothing but praise for the Portman motorcycle team. I had read and heard some negative reviews so I was bit wary of buying a Bike from Portman. However I found my experience positive. I wanted a 125 cc motorcycle for commuting I went to Portman too look at Thier bikes with a mate . I met Irene who was very friendly and helpful I looked at the bikes. I was left alone to look not harassed and any questions I had were answered with a smile . I spoke to Irene about my options and she was brilliant not pushy with sales not what I was expecting she told me about a new bikes and she told me about second hand bikes they had. Again this was not pushy or aggressive . I had not made my mind up and said I like to think about it. This was met with a smile and let us know reply . I had a think and took the plunge on a hanway 125 I ordered a bike online and Portman motors kept me informed through the whole order to arrival . When my bike was ready Portman delivered my bike to my house without any issues as I was not ready to ride the distance. The delivery was reasonable priced . Unfortunately not Portman motors fault there was an issue that my bike developed This was covered. Under manufacturer warranty I spoke to Irene and Brian the service manager and the manufacturer. They sorted the issue under warranty . I asked for the first service to be done while the fault was been done . This was a competitive price for the First service not over charged . I also had a new chain fitted again reasonable price . Brian kept me up to date from the warranty claim been put in to the new part arriving , repair and service been carried out to completion with phone call updates . All through this I got nothing but a warm friendly helpful service from both Irene and Brian and the rest of Portman team. I would happily to continue to use Portman motorcycle for future service and if anything needs done to my motorcycle or if I wanted a new motorcycle I would call them first . The Bike: I bought the Hanway 125 SC furious . I am in my 40s, weigh 15-16 stone & I am 6ft.2 tall. I use the bike to commute a round trip of 35 miles on rural A roads and part town . I have used the bike early morning 5am starts in rain , winds and occasionally sunshine lol then rush hour traffic home. I cannot fault the bike . I normally used my car and the fuel savings with the bike are over half . I average 60mph for the most part of my commute on hilly twisty A roads and dual carriageway . The bike does not struggle despite my size on the A roads even on hills . In town it's great for nipping about. I have cut 15 mins of my commute because I can filter through rush hour traffic to the front of queues. Fun wee bike

So on my search for my first bike Portman came up on Google. I decided to go have a gander. Upon arrival I was greeted by the very lovely Irene who made the experience very welcoming and answered any questions I had… brilliant. It gets better. I sourced my own financing for the bike and Portman were happy to start securing and preparing the bike for me on the word that I wanted to buy it. As I wanted to finance the full amount they were absolutely fine with this and made that side of things easy and allowed me to focus on my cbt etc without worrying about securing my bike, it gets better. I had never purchased a brand new vehicle before so was quite nervous about it and due to this forgot to do things like get L plates, bring fuel etc however none of this was required, I arrived to collect my bike and again greeted by Irene who congratulated me on my cbt results and my purchase helped me find an insurance company that would insure the bike due to it being a brand new model and not in the drop down menus for most companies all whilst my bike was being prepared to leave… finally my bike comes out and what do you know. The lovely people at Portman decided to put L plates on, tax the vehicle and put plenty fuel in for my journey home. NOW THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE. If I could give more stars I would and I will certainly recommend this dealer and hopefully use them in the future for a bigger bike

I've been riding bikes from portmans for 3 years, i started off with a sinnis hoodlum for my first bike which i absolutely loved, and then decided to get the Hyosung Aquilla bobber, which was a definite step up. unfortunately it developed a few issues, as these things sometimes do in our unforgiving climate in scotland with daily use. Both portmans and sinnis worked tirelessly together during these challenging times to help me fix the issue, but decided instead to give me a brand new 2021 model just in time for Christmas.! Many thanks to you guys, in particular to Brian, John and Irene and the good folk from Sinnis. You have made a loyal customer very happy.! I highly recommend buying and dealing with the guys in the new year, if your a new or returning rider looking forward to the 2022 season.

Brilliant staff got what I wanted absolutely over the moon with the bike

I bought a Zontes ZT125-U from here and it's been a little bit of a saga originally but Portmans' sorted everything out. I thought I would share my experiences with them on here for potential future customers: First was when I was buying the bike to begin with, I came in and they let me sit on a Lexmoto LXR (which is what I originally wanted) but I didn't like the feeling of the seat position. I noticed they were bringing in the Zontes and I got a seat on one and it instantly felt better and lighter. The next stage was applying for finance, my particular circumstances mean my credit rating is trash because I made defaults on several accounts in 2016 and my rating is tanked until they fall off my report in 2022 despite the fact I earn a very good income. Anyway, that wasn't a problem for Portmans: they found a finance provider who was extremely flexible and helped me out (First Response Finance, who themselves were actually very good to deal with - but that is a separate issue). When I got the bike it ran great but then the engine warning light came on and I had to take it back to Portmans to be fixed. The bike went back three times for replacement parts under warranty and to be honest both Portmans and Clements (the UK Distributor of Zontes) were very easy to deal with. Ultimately all the problems have been fixed under warranty and I am really happy with how they handled things, especially with Brian (their parts and servicing manager) who was really on top of things and always happy to help with questions and e-mails. The girl with the American accent that answers their phones (I don't know her name, sorry!) is also fantastic: very polite and professional. Next is the servicing and I didn't have any problems with this either: just put it in first thing in the morning and got it back just after lunch the same day. I have no complaints and I like the dealership. I am doing my DAS in May so I will probably be back there after that for either a Sinnis Terrain 380 or a KTM Duke 390. I don't know what I want though. When I was down there picking up my bike after servicing there was a SuperDuke on the lot and it is an absolute unit of a bike. 10/10 from me.

Bought a bike from them end 2017. Whenn I took delivery of the bike it had a few dents on the tank and was set in km/h not in mph. Had many issues with the bike so is now sold. Good points they prepare the bike quickly bad points after sales service could inprove

Popped in for a quick look at 125cc bikes. I was given help and friendly advice without any sales chat or pressure. I don't like being followed around a dealership - I like time to look myself, and this is exactly what Portman did. When I did then want some info., they didn't try to push me towards more expensive bikes, they just listened to what I was after and let me sit on a few bikes, offering any insight they had without any hard sell. I'll be back for a 2nd look because i felt valued but never pressured 👍

Great place to buy a motorcycle Friendly staff

Just bought my first bike Lexmoto LXR! I couldn’t be happier with the bike and how I was helped by the staff from Portman motorcycles. Staff even took the time to go over how to look after my bike before I left as I’m a complete novice. Definitely will be going back after I get my full license.

Brilliant - completely hassle free experience hiring a small van for a 24hr hire. Pricing is very reasonable and they were very friendly and efficient which really helped during a busy move weekend. Wouldn't hesitate to contact Portman next time I need to hire and highly recommend.

Hired a van for four hours, to help my brother with a flitting and have nothing but praise for the service I received. Firstly the prompt personal email reply late on on a Sunday evening meant I could confirm everything easily and quickly. The van I collected was in good condition and was no hassle at all when I then had to extend the hire for a few hours. Will definitely use Portman's again next time I need a van.

I want to apologies for my previous review. A couple of days ago I took my motorcycle to a friend of mine who is a bike mechanic and he said that he couldn't find any particular problems with it and that the job carried out at Portman motors was excellent. The bike is still stalling sometimes, but I guess that could be a problem with some bikes of the lexmoto brand? I don't know really. Anyway, my apologies and keep on the good work.

Great motorcycle dealer in central Glasgow. Recently bought a Sinnis Terrain from them, and the customer service I recieved was excEllen. Friendly family run business. My bike was constructed to a high standard (I checked for any loose nuts or bolts). The sales team were welcoming and I was given a talk through of the features of the bike, before being left to admire my new purchas. I will be visiting again for my first service soon, and look forward to speaking to the team again. I have every confidence in them so far.

Was sceptical at first due to hearing horror storys of this company but i can honestly say I will be back again in the future to buy another bike i got a lexmoto lxr 125 on finance the process was a walk in the park applied on the monday was out on the friday with my brand new bike cannot fault the staff at all in the slightest they let me check over all the stock to make sure i had picked the right bike for me (5ft 4) even with the current conditions and having to keep a distance due to covid i still felt like they where there for me and where extremely helping , i had 1 tiny issue where my front right indicator was facing slightly upwards nothing major didn't affect the bike at all i went back down on the monday within 5 minutes i was back on the road problem solved , [EDIT] 300 miles in bikes got a fault which makes it die in traffic and refuse to start again *great fun* now waiting to see what the damage is not too impressed starting to wish i'd just bought a yamaha R125 instead
