This is a large store selling military surplus supplies and old style uniforms and essential army/navy stock for camping and general survival tools. The staff are very helpful and informative, I was just buying old style army bags, but they sell a wide variety of military paraphernalia. The only problem is they're only open in the week and during office hours. Check their website or call them before visiting.

Brilliant old fashioned army surplus type of a shop. Browse for hours. They have army surplus gear and retro motorcycle stuff including budget helmets. There is camping stuff and great quality clothes for the outdoor types. You can buy Redwing boots here and lots of high quality branded work clothing. They sell a lot of survivalist type stuff. I'm sure I saw some airguns and pellet guns as well as hunting shooting and fishing stuff. Well worth a visit if you're down the Mile End Road. I'll give it a four stars.

I first visited this place years ago when it was a kind of warehouse where you asked for something at the counter and a grumpy assistant would disappear behind the scenes to get it for you. The staff had a reputation for being rude. Imagine my surprise on my recent visit! You are now able to stroll around the premises, inspect the goods and try them on. The friendly and helpful staff are happy to advise and to fetch other sizes from the stockroom. This place has a really good selection of Army & Navy stuff as well as other gear and I'll definitely be making a return visit soon.

I purchased a Cabot Watch Company (CWC) G10 Sapphire watch as well as an additional NATO strap having been eyeing one up for a while. I wasn’t sure whether to go for the regular G10 or the more expensive sapphire version and I’m delighted I opted for the sapphire for a number of reasons: The crystal itself is incredibly durable and scratches will never be an issue. The screw-down crown goes hand in hand with the increased water resistance (200m!). Furthermore the battery life on the sapphire version is significantly better. My model has a date function which for me is a must-have! All of this for me justifies the price difference between the sapphire model and the standard model. That said, the quality of CWC watches is so that no matter what model you choose, it’ll serve you brilliantly. I’m based in Dublin, Ireland and my order was dispatched to me at a rate of knots! The delivery service was brilliant and I was really impressed by how fast it got here and by how well packaged it was. The watch itself is incredibly beautiful but also rugged, tactile and capable of anything you can throw at it. Be that in an office or out in the field. The CWC NATO straps are fantastic, easily interchangeable and of great quality. It operates with a quartz movement and is incredibly accurate and should you need to adjust the time or date, it’s incredibly quick and easy. The lume on the watch is spectacular and it’s legible even in total darkness which is really handy for during the nighttime. I had to reach out to CWC/Silverman’s regarding one of my straps and I dealt with Dan who was fantastic and helped me out super-quickly. I know I’ve written an essay here, but I really want to highlight how great an experience I had with CWC/Silverman’s and how fantastic the products I received are. I absolutely will be buying from you guys again as there are more than a few pieces I have my eye on!! Thank you, Ross Collie.

Store is easy to find, staff are helpful and not pushy sales people like in some other places. I got some motorcycle kevlar pants for a good price. Quality seems ok for daily short distance commute. First time buyer at Silvermans over the internet. My items arrived very quickly neatly folded and well boxed. Everything as ordered and complete. The Snugpak Elite Jacket fits perfectly and was ordered L based on their sizing charts (I would normaly buy XL). The price was very competative. The other two items were new, slight second, jacket liner and waterproof boot liner which look perfect to me at a low price. Recommended

On my first visit mid week came acros rude and condescending staff. Not helpful and have no idea about the prices and stock availability, when asked if I can return the item as I was purchasing a present said there will be a restocking charge of 10% of the cost.. I wanted to buy a pea coat for my husband costing £250 so to pay £25 if returned within a week unworn i thought is a bit much! By the way 'restocking charges' are not mentioned online. Very disappointed and left the shop feeling quite offended and upset…… however had to update my review.. as had to came back to the shop at the weekend (unfortunately spoiled the surprise) but was rather amazed as the shop was full of staff members and much more welcoming and helpful ( made sure to avoid rude gentlemen who 'served' me before) - ended up buying a different coat to what originally planned but even got a little present at the check out - a very happy customer now!!

Army gear outlet. Great assortiment. I had earlier that day visited 4 outdoor shops in London looking for a sleeping bag that keeps me warm at -20C. None had one in stock (Cotsworld, Snow and Rock, Blacks). One of the attendants of Snow and Rock recommended Silvermans as that he buys all his gear there. They didn't just have 1, but 3 types in store. One even went to -40C.
