Tokyo is always fantastic, great for a quick bite or a full meal! The menu is brilliant and varied with curries, ramen soup bowls, rice dishes, stir frys etc They have loads of vegan and veggie options and the prices are really fantastic! It's one of my favourite places to eat I'm Liverpool and its a two minute walk from Liverpools famous Bold Street

Best Dim sum ever! Have never had a bad experience here and I've been coming for years and fairly frequently. If you want some really really affordable food at the best quality and enjoyability, this is the place from you. This place is for people of all walks of life - student, night out, casual, family, couple, friends... Absolutely love it and love bringing family and friends to introduce them to the place. The staff are always so so nice as well, and even when being swept off their feet busy, they try their best to take a second to have a chat always with a smile! The satay chicken is always IMMENSE! Lovely spring rolls, honey ribs - wow, even the seaweed is beautiful. Amazing 😉

I've been a regular customer for years and the food is normally great. Recently I placed my usual order over the phone. When I went to collect, rather than charging me the usual £15.60 the guy tried charging me over £18. When I queried this he said it was because I ordered by phone, rather than using their app. The app sometimes does not work properly so I prefer to order over the phone and have never been charged extra for this 'privelege'. I said this was unreasonable and he agreed to charge me £16.10 which is the app price including service charge and snapped "next time order on the app". A little tip regarding customer service: don't try and overcharge your loyal customers just because you have to pick the phone up, or they might just go elsewhere in future.

Love all the food especially crispy roast duck with pancakes, friedrice, sweet and sour chicken and also the shredded beef. Best restaurant in Liverpool. Ordered takeaway but the food still hot and tasty. Stuffs are so nice and the price really good worth all the money.💖

A cosy little restaurant that is great value for money, truly a hidden gem. The staff are very friendly and had good customer service. The food portions are very generous and is good value for money. A wide selection of food and drink, everything came out together and with good time, I'd definitely come back again.

Honestly, the best Chinese I’ve ever had. I would even go as far as saying some of the best food I have ever had. Me and my friends are there so often that the workers have started to recognise us. I always order the sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice which is just amazing, one of my favourite meals. I have also tried the salt and pepper chicken which I would also recommend. The staff are super friendly and the food comes fairly quickly. They also offer delivery/take away which I have had before, the containers are great; 15 minute walk home and the food was still as hot as when you got it. There is also a upstairs area with dessert, I got a Macha Waffle which was just fantastic and it came with some fresh strawberries and ice cream on top. Overall, I would certainly recommend this place to everyone. For £10 or even less you can have a full meal and a drink which is just amazing. A must go for anyone in Liverpool.

Really, really great food. Don't be put off by the simple surroundings. The cooking and ingredients are first-rate. Big king prawns were cooked perfectly retaining a lovely texture and flavour amid a subtle ginger and spring onion sauce with really lovely firm vermicelli. Service is super-efficient and polite. My only issues were that the portions were enormous and the prices way too cheap!

The service is very quick, all staffs are very helpful and friendly. The portion is very generous for the price. Although the ramen might not taste as authentic as you would expect from the restaurant name, but it's decent enough for the price. They have a dessert store called Upstairs which is located upstairs of Tokyo Noodle Bar but they will serve desserts downstairs too, just ask the staff for more details. Also, the desserts menu kinda change everyday so ask staff before order.

Just outstanding food everytime at prices that are rediculous for the quality. You're paying chipshop prices for amazing authentic food and great portions. Service is always A* and food is brought to the table promptly. The drinks menu is small, but also cheap. £2.70 for a bottle of beer! The picture is of mixed meat noodles in bone broth, costs about £8 and will feed 2 people easily, also highly recommend the salt and pepper squid. Exquisite.

I don't even know where to begin for this, this place has been a staple for me for a long time. First time coming back in 5 years. The staff were absolutely lovely. New guy served me but he was still learning, he mentioned that so i was happy to help him too to make it easier. Onto the food. The chicken and sweetcorn soup was exactly how I remembered it (when it was called tokyou) you literally cannot knock any part of it at all. Even my missus loved it so much and she doesn't have soup. Obviously we got prawn crackers too 😂 Now onto the main, we both had sweet and sour chicken and egg fried rice. The portions are incredible!! Make sure you're hungry for this as they're very generous with their portions. Big plus The sauce and chicken worked perfectly hand in hand. So crispy on the outside and tender on the inside just like it should be. If you're near the area this place is a bloody big must!! It's super nostalgic for me going back there. Oh and it's pretty quiet in there so if you're other half comes with you it's ideal for dates or family meals. I gladly tipped them too. Only regret I have is not doubling the tip I gave. Thanks lads!! You definitely nailed that meal for me and the missus 💯💯👌

Best place for asian food at affordable prices in Liverpool! I love the satay chicken with egg noodles, and always get some sides like salt and pepper chicken, chicken satay skewers and chicken balls but just a main is enough to fill one person as the portions are big! My favourite place to go before a night out in Liverpool, nice selection of alcohol and even do milkshakes like their oreo one which I love!

Went for the first time last week for lunch. Decently priced and massive portions for the price. Around £6 for a main dish. All very tasty. Chilli beef was perfectly cooked and not chewy unlike some takeaways. Toilets clean. Good service from friendly staff. You can see the chef's cooking through a window to the kitchen which was a nice touch. I would return and recommend to friends for a cheap filling lunch.

Excellent service, very good food and extremely competitive pricing. Embarrassing to say the staff are starting to know us, but there you have it (we live literally two minutes away). The vegetarian options are suitable for vegans unless egg noodles or fried rice are involved. Great for a quick tea after a day in town or before a few drinks of an evening.

As a very picky eater, I'm always delighted when someone will cheap the food option (take something out) because I can't eat it. Unfortunately this usually leads to the quality of the food decreasing and my being left with an inferior product. This does NOT happen at Tokyou. They have a nice set up, good for a few friends to sit down and chat after (or during) a night out and have some delicious food in great sized portions with oodles of flavour. Brilliant value too. Recommended to me by a friend and now I recommend it to everyone.

I've always loved Tokyou and was gutted it closed for such a long time. I'm really glad it's back open and the food still tastes great. It's a shame the prices have gone up but they do need to make money! I do hate the fact that you can only pay cash now and this is a big pet peeve of mine. In this day and age where you can even pay with your mobile phone it's not difficult for companies to provide other easier options of payment. Especially as you could pay by card when it was first open!

Been to this place a number of times over the yrs.. I was advised to try it by one of the door men of near by bar .. The decor is a bit rustic looking , but the food is delicious, huge portions and very reasonable price .. if you can't manage to finish the meal they'll be happy to put it in a tray to take away .. I normally give mine to the homeless, the genuine ones really appreciate it .

I had the chicken teriyaki and while the chicken katsu was amazing, the rice was unimpressive. In general the experience was heavily westernised with the miso soup having no seaweed, the rice not being traditional Japanese sticky rice, and there being no sushi on the menu. The portion sizes were extremely generous though and the price was very reasonable. Overall, I would recommend it, but only if you're not looking for authentic Asian cuisine.

I have ordered food from Tokyo twice over the space of the past week. Both times as delectable as the other. My orders consisted of special fried rice, duck spring rolls (4) and either sweet and sour sauce or black bean. I was also sure to take the prawn crackers for a test drive. I will begin with the sides, and will save the main course of the meal for the main course of the review. The prawn crackers were on a level comparable to humans and a higher being. I have never had such perfect prawn crackers before. Each and every one was a piece of crispy white joy. The crunch bites back and does so with vengeance, the flavour of the prawn encapsulated perfectly. Much like a tube of Pringles, once you pop you cannot stop. The duck spring rolls were no different, the sweet plum duck flavour shining through the crunchy exterior, take joy in the fact that there will be no soggy rolls here! Only a solid crunch of satisfaction, much like the cookies grandma used to bake. And what would a meal be without a main course?! Special fried rice coming right up. Normally when ordering any seafood at a restaurant, I'm hesitant and I feel at times they can be also due to risk of something going awry. However, my special fried rice had more prawns than Bubba's Shrimp in Forrest Gump and by golly gee does it pay off. Each mouthful containing a different type of meat, its an adventure down tasture lane (that's a combination of taste and texture) worth experiencing a hundred times over. Pair this with a wide range on sauces that Tokyo offers and you'll be on your travels to a better place of edible delights as it makes the flavour even more dominant. Once the meal had been consumed, not only was I satisfied with the flavours and the quality but also the quantity. If I were able-bodied then this would have disabled me. The portions left me feeling like I'd just eaten a Christmas dinner - content and lathargic. I looked back at the container lovingly like a Sheila after a one-night stand, enjoyable and memorable. I will definitely be ordering from here again and would recommend everyone to give it a try.
