This was a quite expensive venture, the space was good but access was a bit of a problem, a large storage facility with only one lift just doesn't make sense. Spent ages either waiting for the lift because it was in use or stuck somewhere. And when paying for removals at an hourly rate that really pushes up the cost... At the prices they charge it should be better. I unfortunately got very short notice on a rental availability, so didn't have much time in the sense of giving notice to safestore, got charged a 14 day fee even though the unit was exited. I don't know that it is something I was told when taking the unit, but they insisted I would've been told. Also be aware that they charge on a 28 day basis, not an actual normal month, another thing that wasn't mentioned. It probably just depends on who you deal with when you take a unit. Regardless, not a very pleasant experience.

Leo gave us a great quote 1 year ago, so we signed up for the special 12 month contract. Fantastic value for money. Leo or one of his team always opened up on time, and were available for advice (and packaging tape!) The place was always clean and tidy, and the loading bay was very handy.

I had a small storage locker there for about 18 months, possibly longer(?). No problems at all during that time: staff were friendly and helpful, facility is as good as a converted space can be I guess ( some wonderful bits of the original Art Deco bldg. visible if you use the stairs). The reason I moved my stuff was a simple economic one: the fees were due to rise recognisably from around now, my income is fixed so I moved to a cheaper, though less conveniently located, storage facility.

Booked this storage from overseas and all would say it was the most professional company I have ever dealt with. Very helpful, knowledgeable and nothing was to much bother. When I arrived there to move my items into my storage room it was the same. Mark the chaps name whom I was speaking to all the time was like a personal contact was there and after seeing the unit the paperwork was completed. A very clean and tidy unit. Would highly recommend them .

Size of the space was good, however, the loading area is small and the lift is small/ takes a while to go between floors - two door system tends to cause a delay if one of the doors hasn't locked properly. What I would also say is make sure you realise it's security 24/7...... not access! We came unstuck when clearing Daughter's flat on a Sunday - only available between 10 and 4. One more thing...... Southampton Uni Letting agents..... everyone has to swap on the 1st of July......leads to a number of trolley shortages and a delay in getting access to the lift. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

It does what it's meant to do and does it well. Helpful staff, clear-cut rules (posted where you need to know/obey them), an elevator and loading bay make it a smooth experience. The trolleys they have, while old, are useful and a bit quirky (which only makes the experience more fun, IMO). The biggest downside of the place is their schedule. Opening times barely leave you with little time to do anything if you have a 9-5 job (closes at 6 every day apart from Thursday, when it closes at 8).

The customer service was fantastic. I had booked a smaller storage, when I removed all my belongings in property I realised a bigger space I should order, luckily I got it and a better deal from safe store. The reason why I couldn't give full mark because only a lift was in the store, it wasn't convenient to move the things into storage.

Decent pricing, especially for students. Unfortunately the lift was broken at the time and my storage locker was on an upper level so it was quite a workout lifting heavy boxes up and down flights of stairs. My belongings were safe and as I left them when I came to move out, and at the end of the day that is what matters most with storage companies.

Kept my items safe and dry for about 6+ months. Ease of access could be a bit better, but I guess they don't have many options to change layout apart from main lift door positioning (could be from the entrance door). One thing to note is, that when you give your 1 month's notice, do not expect to get a refund if you remove your stuff earlier due to money leeching policy. I know most places use to disgusting tactic, but that doesn't make it any better. Hotels don't charge you when you move out, neither should places like this. Period.

I had initially reserved at the Crawley location in early October, plans changed and I reserved in Southampton. No problem cancelling my initial reservation and it was quickly followed up by a confirming email. After sending my second reservation, I rec'd a phone call from Pete the store mgr, confirming my space needs and time requirement. When I arrived to do the paperwork and take the locker, the whole process was seamless and I thoroughly enjoyed Pete's upbeat personality.
