The Customs House of Belfast stands opposite the Lagan Weir and The Big Fish Sculpture. The building is closed to the public, but even from the outside, it's a magnificent and elegant building in the Italianate style.
The front of the building contains a bronze statue of a man talking to an empty crowd as a reminder that the Custom House steps were once a speakers' corner. On the waterfront side, the pediment has sculptures of Britannia, Neptune and Mercury.
Definitely worth a look if in Belfast especially as many of the landmarks of Belfast are in this area.
What a great venue. Stiff Little Fingers, The Stranglers, Ruts DC and The Outcasts. Great show in a great town!
Brilliant seen the lady boys here was amazing. Ive been going for the past 5 years and each year it never disappointed.
Great night's entertainment at the Ocean Colour Scene gig even with the rain!!
Central location for events in Belfast - so if you go to many - you will definately be here one day...from food festivals to concerts! The building is impressive..not sure what you have to do to get inside!! Very interesting history...a good place to arrange to meet people - right beside the Cathedral Quarter - or over to the Odyssey. The Big Fish is just around the corner as well and Albert Clock - so plenty to see!
Great space for smaller open air concerts - easy access with plenty of portaloos provided and a range of beer tents at £5 a drink.
Great night at the chsq concert. Food and drink a bit pricey for basic items but enjoyed the gig.
Was at the craft beer festival here and it was great craic my only wish was more flavoured beer instead of just alot of ipa's but still great craic
It was a fantastic music concert here and its capacity plus sound capabilities made it all the better.
