Reviews of Northern Ireland War Memorial Museum
Excellent exhibition showing the impact of the war on Northern Ireland as well as the stories of those heroes who sacrificed themselves (some to the point of losing their lives) to save the others. Packed with interesting items and staff were really knowledgeable and helpful. Went with my 5 year old and she was thoroughly stunned and amazed after going through the exhibits. Highly recommended 👍
A powerful thought provoking museum with beautiful art work and interesting exhibits. A truly harrowing experience. The woman at the desk explained a lot and was friendly and really very informative.
Excellent presentation by an articulate young man. Nobody rushed our group. As far as I know no money transacted hands - nor was there any mention of voluntary donations. Interesting WW2 letter were on display in the archives section. Songs from Vera Lynn. Tea, coffee and biscuits were provided. 90 very profitable minutes.
Small but very informative museum about Northern Ireland's contribution and experience during WWII. Staff were friendly and able to answer questions. Spent about 35 minutes here total.
Very friendly lady, spent time telling us back ground storys really interesting.
Small museum, but definitely worth a visit. You will get much information about this peace of WW2 history of Belfast here.
Great exhibition but rather small museum. We went during the week and in the morning apart from us and the security men there was no one else there.
Brilliant visit & superb friendly staff
Great collection and wonderful staff. Amazing to have right on the door step of the art college especially. Worth a visit.
Small, but very nice museum. Very informative and nice collection. Good for small groups for about 30-45 mins.
Well worth a look. Some interesting insights into Northern Ireland's role in the second world war.
Staff were very good & very knowledge. All real authentic items from war times. Only downside is the actual museum itself is quite small. But definitely worth checking out
My Grandson loved it and he asked very relevant questions
Well worth a visit. At the going down of the sun we will remember them .
No time to see it in length will need to go back for more
If you want to know more about Northern Ireland’s contribution to the two World Wars, this is the place to go.

Some heat in this place
Great experience!
Lovely place just found it by chance friendly staff and was amazed to find the roll of honour book just happen to be open at my relations names ..even my granddaughter of 8 was so interested.
Excellent museum
Great lerning
Historical place.
It is a small museum that fits in a room on the ground floor. It gives the most notable details about Belfast's involvement during the First and Second World Wars. There are also original reproductions of articles, soldiers and other objects from those times. Depending on your knowledge, it takes a couple of minutes (for locals) or thirty minutes (for foreigners).
The museum only has one large room and a few exhibits. In terms of history, there isn't much to be found here other than the Blitzkrieg
Small free museum about Irish involvement in the two world wars. It is worth stopping and visiting as it does not take long, is informative and concrete.
A small museum but worth seeing if you are interested in war, and it is free.
Beautiful, very special museum
The employee was knowledgeable about the war history and eager to answer any questions that we had.
Interesting insight into Belfasts' ww2 history.
Very small, but worth seeking out.
Small museum but very interesting. It’s worth a stop if you’re interested in the history of Belfast during the war. You can see it all in about 20/30 minutes. And it’s donation based.
Fantastic little place, we had it all to ourselves so we could spend a good long time looking at the exhibitions. Very interesting information and a great way to spend an hour or so. Would recommend if you are interested in this sort of thing.
The tv that shows the names and ages of people who died in the blitzes really hits home.
A fantastic place to spend an hour learning and understanding the impact of war in Northern Ireland. It’s a place of education, and a thought provoking exhibition that gives you a glimpse into life in years gone past.
Excellent exhibition and put together with care and passion...staff are extreamly helpful and will be more than glad to answer any questions you may have.
although the exhibition itself is small , the heart moveing history behind it is very real, while your there pick up a free booklet on The Belfast Blitz where you then scan a bar code to your phone and it takes you on a visual tour of the blitz starting from the front door of the museum.
Admission is free and donations are welcome.
Group bookings advisable.
