E. B.Visit on free open days. I've been to two. Once in 2012 and again recently in 2018. Stocked full of items that Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery has no room for in their main museums. Also public artworks that used to be outside but now in storage. That need restoring. Also vintage vehicles and items from the old Birmingham science museum.
P. S.A great opportunity to visit the normally unseen items of the museum. Lots of industrial and engineering artefacts that can't normally be displayed plus many others!
T. A.Birmingham Museum Trust main store facility housing 80% of the collection. Limited opening to the public for guided tours. Large natural history and Birmingham social history collections from huge machines to tiny shells. A number of important bequests housed in their entirety.
If you, or a parent have lived or worked in the city, perhaps in industry, you will find it fascinating, and perhaps you have an oral history which could be captured for future generations? Special interest groups can visit by appointment.

A. S.Brilliant hidden treasure. Well worth a visit on the handful of days they are open during the year. So many varied exhibits some nostalgic, some reminiscent, some poignant. My most favourite item being a Raleigh Chopper bike from when U was 9 years old! Good activities for younger visitors during the open days. The collection of vehicles is also superb, look out for the electric dustcart...!

b. d.Really great to see behind the scenes as it were, great exhibits, well run, friendly staff, plenty of parking in the street. The only fly in the ointment was the youngish large posteriored woman with about ten kids and a double buggy hell bent on blocking up the very narrow Isles in the first exhibition hall for most of the morning, not moving to the rest of the exhibitions. There is always one isn't there.

H.All I can say is what an amazing place full of every type of historical item things from my childhood like the so cool "chopper bike" to proper bars of Cadbury chocolate as they used to be big and thick lol. I could spend hours here and still not see it all if you get the opportunity then take advantage of seeing this Birmingham Gem I will definitely go again given the opportunity
L. K.So interesting!! Shame it's only open once a year. Really enjoyed wandering around. Shame there's little information around, but I guess that's why you go to the museum! I'd like to know what causes an exhibit to be demoted to here.
R. J.The HP sauce sign, over 800,000 other artefacts that won't fit into Birmingham City Council's other museums. The rotation is in real evidence as items I've seen in BMAG within the last two years were here. Machinery, old computers, motorbikes, bicycles, Egyptology, jet engines, medical equipment. Endless wows for all the family. Book in advance but don't touch anything. Asbestos risk. Truly worth visiting. Sadly, the paintings weren't available today which would have included Pre-Raphaelite items.

A. S.An opportunity to see museum items of all kinds without charge which are not currently on display. Although some of the exhibits from the old Science Museum are on show at the ThinkTank, there is a considerable entrance fee, unlike the original museum and the Collection Centre.
J. G.Full of stuff from Museum and Science Museum for all those who remember Newhall Street. Only open last Friday of month with prior booking. Worth a visit or three.
