This is our favourite escape.often take a picnic and it's peaceful and beautiful.The occasional cyclist will pass through where trains used to pass. Thankyou to those of you that maintain these station

Lovely small station. No longer used with seats and benches. You can stop and rest have your picnic or a drink that you have brought with you. Listened to the birds singing heard a chuff chuff. Very restful

Unfortunately the sign seems to have disappeared and the history board shows 2 different versions of the history and neither were complete. But it otherwise was amazing good walk and good wheel chair access if you can push up hills.

Lovely place to relax on the North Dorset Trailway

Mostly of interest to people interested in the history of the Somerset and Dorset railway. We stopped off for our lunch while out walking. The guys there have done a good job opening the area up and also has sign information boards giving you some history of the station

Had a fantastic walk along old railway line starting at Spetisbury Station. Really nice to see a community taking pride in its history. Nice place to sit for a picinic.

This volunteer maintained station sits on the old Somerset and Dorset Railway. Now mostly wall and chimney brest on the old up platform there is not much to see but the 2 platforms give you some idea of the old layout. There is also a play area on the down platform. The trackbed is now the North Dorset Trailway and is a great place for walks and bike rides. It runs for several miles and there is a website for both the station volunteers and the Trailway. Walking along this section of the line takes you through a lovely part of the countryside, rich in history. Parking is limited and you have to negotiate a flight of steps if you are accessing the station at this point.

Fantastic place to stop for a break on a walk. Lots of things for children to look at and play on the train. Excellent views over the village too.

It didn't have any shelter for rain and not much really there. There is an interesting story to it though and a lovely view.
