Reviews of Cefn Cribwr Ironworks
A great place to visit so much history. Also a lovely river running through the woods
Lovely walking area lots of birds abc things to see
Wonderful part of history.
I wasn't able to walk around but sent the drone up to get some shots.
My quiet spot! Very pretty, you can walk to the front of the Ironworks or use the paths at the sides and behind. Paths can be tricky especially if it's wet, however a cycle/bridle path runs along the front of it that's accessible to pushchairs or wheelchair users. Enjoy, but take your rubbish home.
Lovely place, shame I couldn't get closer.
Peaceful, calming, just relaxing, considering all the history of this place, it should give you the collywobles, but I find it restful. A nice walk through country side, a decent car park to start from. Pubs for grub or drink and a playground for children nearby
This is a lovely place that I have often enjoyed visiting but sadly it is all locked up now so the local community and any visitors to it are unable to appreciate its history, although the natural beauty is still very much apparent.
Loves this place kids have been going since they could walk take my dog quit alot plus its our own little history rite on our front door step
Nice historic and peaceful place. Starting to look neglected with all the rotted fallen wooden fences and sign posts. Quite a lot of dog poo on the paths
Lovely walk, great little bit of history, plenty of little places to stop and picnic or walk through to Kenfig Hill. Will visit again
Following some of the other comments, the ironworks has not closed. It’s been fenced in to prevent vandalism. Opening times are between 10am and 4pm. Unless things have changed since my last visit.
Visited on many occasions and enjoyed the serenity, but this year the gates have been locked. Could anyone tell me why and if there are plans to re-open them?
Today's adventure
It's a shame that access to the iron works is denied due to ongoing (2 years) safety concerns although the walk around Bedford Park is very pleasant
Great little Ironworks for exploring, although last time I visited the top gate was closed, but the bottom entrance gate was open for access.
Great place to visit!
Great walk if you've got a dog
Excellent place for a long walk. Beautiful.
Lovely peaceful walk
Interesting video commentary if you have a smartphone while going round.
