Fantastic historical heritage right in the heart of ancient Bridgend that you probably didn't know about. Make a point of visiting on one of the open days. Check the Facebook group for details

Well worth a visit, very interesting, bigger than expected and dog friendly 😃. It was advertised as open on the Saturday on Facebook, 10am till 4pm. So check dates so you don't get disappointed.
This is an interesting local gem and one of, if not the, oldest houses in Bridgend. Originally a house owned by the Knights Hospitaller of St John, it has an outer metal gate showing their white cross on a black background.
The trust’s job is to keep this building in good repair and out of the hands of developers. They host open days on the last Saturday of every month at which anyone is welcome. These days often include some “living history” that can involve bread making, candle making, archery and suchlike. Definitely worth a visit. I suggest you take follow the link above, to their website. It really is interesting reading.
A tranquil, spiritual, beautiful and fascinating place - one of the shiniest historical gems of Bridgend town and county.
St John's House is run by a local charity and everyone involved is a volunteer. The team is extremely friendly and welcoming. The tours are informative, professionally delivered and insightful, there is a well-stocked gift shop, and you can sit and enjoy a decent filter coffee and light refreshments.
A programme of events is also put on, including arts and crafts, plays, live music, storytelling, historical/archaeological talks, and poetry.
Lovely historical building maintained by local, passionate historians. Worth a visit to support when they reopen.
Love this place! If only the walls could talk and we knew the building s full history!
Lovely to see these old buildings being preserved . Fantastic welcome and talk from Ken also.
