Reviews of Van Gogh Bristol: The Immersive Experience
j. r.
I took my (almost) 4 month old here and it was such a great experience. It’s very visual so she was really stimulated by all the artwork, and I was able to read all the history on the walls.
Really loved taking her to the sensory room. It was also a great place to breastfeed or put your baby down for a nap lol
If you have an active little babe there are carpets to hang out on as well but we sat in the lounge chairs.
There is a bar but I didn’t notice any food. There is also a photo booth at the very end for £2
D. D.
Great experience. We weren't sure quite what to expect but it was really engaging. The immersive room and the VR experience were very well done (VR experience costs extra or you buy the VIP package which also includes a free poster)
L. R.
Amazing experience and so informative.
Great place to spend a few hours and can be combined with a lunch stop as a large space set aside for refreshments
H. K.
I'm not sure what I was expecting, and there were certainly some brilliant bits, but after reading all the reviews I think I was hoping for more magic! The best bit was absolutely the big light show in the huge room... get comfy on a deckchair, on the floor, maybe take a cushion or yoga mat and lie down, and become a part of Van Gogh's paintings. I also enjoyed the wall of sunflowers, great to see them side by side and compare and contrast. I'd have loved more of his blossom paintings, but I'm biased and love those 🌸
T. M.
Fantastic immersive experience. Brings another dimension to Van Gogh's artwork.
D. W.
What a truly amazing experience. What a beautiful tribute to this wonderful artist. It’s all so well done. The show at the end with his paintings projected onto the walls is breathtaking. Definitely worth doing the VR experience just after show. It costs £5.00 but it is really worth it. The staff are really friendly and helpful. We left feeling like we had met and are good friends with Vincent Van Gogh. If only he was here to see it. This exhibit is not in the town centre. We found parking along one of the roads which was within walking distance. Bristol Temple Meads train station takes about 11 minutes to walk to the exhibit.
J. G.
Although not cheap the overall experience was excellent. The VR activity was an extra cost but worth it. Would recommend.
D. B.
It's an emotive, uplifting experience for all ages. A must see. Your day, and your mood, will be better for it.
A. T.
I wanted to share how fabulous we found the Van Gogh immersive experience which is now booking in Bristol, Leicester, London & York. My daughter age 8 loved it. It doesn’t gloss over his mental health issues or death (and so that might be triggering). The art work is big and bold and well explained. We had opportunity to create our own masterpiece after the exhibit and half an hour watching fabulous wraparound scenes from a deckchair.
J. C.
Well worth being a VIP - VR experience and free poster! Whole family enjoyed it
B. S.
Absolutely brilliant exhibition, from the classy starry night lanyard, the measure of shared information, to the amazing special effects, through the VIP virtual journey ...... it was stunning
R.
This experience was wonderful. A good balance between information, display and immersive experience. My 3yo enjoyed it too. Don't forget to put your colouring in on the 'gallery' wall at the end!
j. r.
Excellent experience, an interesting and innovative way to see art. The kids loved it too
B. H.
A great way to spend a couple of hours. The VR and the immersive room were the highlight of the experience for us. Would certainly recommend and go again .
S. J.
Our visit was really enjoyable. My 11yr old said it was "epic" and rated the VR experience as his favourite part (extra charge for this). Well organised, no queuing or over-crowding on our Saturday morning visit.
S. E.
I recently took my daughter here , it was a surprise. She loves art and I knew she would love it. What surprised me was how much I loved it. What an amazing experience and everything was perfect. The staff were super friendly and a brilliant time was Thank you. .
O.
Bit overpriced for what it is, the drawing part was the best part of the exhibition for me.
m. b.
Amazing experience, would recommend the VR tour also
M. D. W.
What a totally amazing experience!! Our minds were well and truly blown. We can only dream of the skill, expertise and hard work that went into crating such an outstanding event. It was worth every penny of the ticket price! We are now going to ‘spread the word’ to encourage, even non Vincent fans, to immerse themselves asap!
All staff were really helpful, friendly and cheerful, adding to the joy of the day.
Looking forward to future experiences such as this. Well done everyone!!!
T. T.
Amazing experience. Good for all ages! Love it!
K. S.
Fascinating, inspiring and thoroughly entertaining. A must to see and experience
T. C.
I loved this. Wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, you know it looks good but the reality? The reality was even better than I imagined. Sitting back in a deck chair surrounded by Van Gogh’s work so cleverly brought to life - wonderful. Thank you.
S. T.
Great experience. Well worth the money. Paid extra £5 per person for the Virtual Reality experience too. This was brilliant! Took around 2 hours to go round, which was about right. Only issue is with parking. You need to find somewhere to park in a sidestreet (there is accessible parking for Disabled visitors) Would definitely recommend this to everyone.
C. S.
Loved it! Well worth the money. The immersive part of the exhibition is breathtaking and it was all so interesting. Took us about an hour and a half to go round. Would definitely recommend.
J. H.
What a breathtaking experience. So much thought and heart has gone into every aspect. I can’t recommend it highly enough - just wonderful!
C. R.
What a lovely way to show art in this modern world.
It was beautiful, loved all the lights on the walls and floor. The way it moves and changes, so colourful! Great staff, very helpful. Thank you :-)
M. F.
Really beautiful tribute to the artist. Seeing his work come to life with digital enhancements and music adds such amazing layers to the experience... goosebumps for sure! A nice surprise at the end, there were blank printouts of a few key pieces that you could color and scan to be displayed at the venue or take home and complete! If I had known in advance, I would have set more time aside to do so.
J. Y.
Absolutely fantastic. Friendly helpful staff, lovely relaxed atmosphere. We'll worth every penny.
Allow plenty of time for parking. Street parking was a bit of an issue.
M. F.
A truly beautiful experience. Mind blowing. I would highly recommend.
All staff very friendly and helpful
s. r.
Absolutely loved the experience. It was really well laid out and the information was very thorough. The atmosphere was brilliant and the staff were very helpful.
Y. Y.
well organised & informative - definitely recommend the VR experience.
G. A.
One of the most incredible exhibitions I have ever been to. I left feeling not only like I had a great time but also inspired to learn more. An amazing experience.
D. W.
It was wonderful. Very moving and so relaxing. No hassle or hurrying. We didn’t have the VR at the end as my sister has a medical condition but the rest was fabulous.
M. G.
A truly emotional experience…. Brilliantly pulled together and presented in an amazing space. It was very calm, the balance between the visual and audio feeds was just right for me. The quality of the visuals and the sound was fantastic. Learned so much about the artist with out detracting from the sensual immersion. What a way to spend a Friday evening!!!! Perfect!!!
M. W.
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I would strongly recommend you do the VR element too.
I would recommend to others. We spent a lovely Sunday afternoon with friends there. 😊
S. C.
Absolutely amazing experience from the greeting from the staff at the entrance to the moment we left. Fabulous! Highly recommend to anyone who is thinking of going!
M. P.
This was a unique and amazing experience that brought art to life. I cannot recommend visiting this amazing experience highly enough.
N. W.
This is a must see experience. Even if you are not in to art, you cannot fall to be impressed by the quality of production and creativity. I was educated, moved and blown away by the end!
R. B.
A very enjoyable experience, especially the VR and the large effects room. Some of the displays were a little wordy so maybe more audio would be good so you weren't stood in one place too long. Overall a really good attraction.
J. T.
Amazing experience. Lots of information displays.clean and well presented. The immersive room was amazing. Friendly staff. Great bar/cafe. Be aware that there is limited parking. Free parking is available on the street but youay need to walk a little way.to.the venue.
A. F.
This was brilliant. The Virtual Reality experience was amazing. Highly recommended. Only downside is no parking. I recommend any Park and Ride to Temple Meads, then walk through the pedestrian precinct to Avon Street/Feeder Road
j. b.
Absolutely brilliant! You don't have to like art (I'm not an art lover!) to enjoy this experience.
m. g.
A fantastic visual experience. There is a very informative exhibition preceeding the main visual experience. Brilliant. Don't miss this.
B. L.
Everything about the experience was great.
All.membwrs of staff, including security, were helpful and friendly.
The exhibition itself was quite emotive and enjoyable.
I plan to go again!
M. J.
This was a fabulous immersive experience and I would recommend it to everyone. However, the car parking is limited. We took the train so had no problem but if travelling by car you might want to check out car parks nearby.
E. M.
Excellent experience, highly recommend a visit. My 8 year old really enjoyed the experience too 😊
A. C.
If you get the chance to go and see this, please go. It is absolutely amazing, I've never been to anything like this before. You have to see it to believe it. It takes you on a very emotional journey. The Propyard is an amazing space too.
C. C.
Beautiful, breathtaking! Worth every penny!
My girl who is 2 years old...loved it!!!
Parking is a nightmare though! No parking on site which is a shame, otherwise I'd give it 5 stars.
N. S.
What an amazing experience!! I have really enjoyed the show, all done so well such as, the painting, the documentary and the wall show but the room was really impressive, I have really felt immersed by the place.
A. B.
We throughly enjoyed this experience , very different but really got drawn in with the way it was presented, amazing.
L. S.
A good mix of interactive and immersive. If I'm honest it was a little overpriced, especially when you add the booking fees on, they were steep. But in saying that, I am really glad we paid for the VIP tickets as it just made it better.
L. R.
What a truly amazing experience! We especially loved the main hall spellbinding well done to all involved.
First ever experience of VR …. Wow fabulous
B. W.
A stunning and beautifully crafted experience. The background to his life was informative and well laid out.
The immersive and the virtual reality experiences were both wonderful.
Credit to all who worked on realising the exhibition: it was stunning.
Thanks too to the cheerful and courteous staff throughout.
M. H.
Amazing experience overall. Displays were well thought out & informative, & the immersive room show was impressive. VR headset at the end was well worth the £5 extra. Only downside was trying to find parking in the vicinity.
S. J.
As stated really impressive exhibition.
Easy entry with very helpful staff and great atmosphere.
Good shop and on site catering facilities.
R. Y.
Fantastic experience, well worth a visit .on such a high after the experience. The virtual for an extra 5 pounds is worth every penny ....
J. D.
Amazing experience, would highly recommend! Took my very young daughter, very accessible to families.
C. H.
Absolutely amazing. Should be viewed by anyone with the slightest interest in art. Wonderful music and quotations included.
J. W.
It's not really to my taste as it's not my sort of culture, and was interesting, and on the technical side, it's really very good.
Parked in the fruit market, an easy & short 10 min walk, paid for the VIP, which when all worked out, you only really get a free poster.
The main event is done very well, with projectors and a continuous 360 degree masterpiece which must have taken a lot of work.
The VR experience was worth it, though be ware if you suffer from travel sickness!
I wont go again, but recommend it just to say you've done it.
L. R.
Didn't know what to expect when I booked this, so glad I did, it was amazing, so informative, and sitting back in a deckchair looking up got you fully immersed in every painting.
c. l.
Just got back from Arles so that was fortuitous! Absolutely loved this exhibition. It was so cleverly put together and the last room was pure magic.
P. P.
Wasn’t sure what to expect but was absolutely thrilled by the whole experience and would love to go again.
K. W.
Wow so interesting to read about his life and see all his iconic paintings become interactive. The final room with the display on the walls was amazing!
J. B.
Absolutely AMAZING!! What a fantastic experience!! Make sure you get the VR experience at the end......mind blowing!!
S. S.
Amazing experience! Great venue and a fantastic way to see Van Gogh's work, including indredible video projections and a virtual reality exploration of the landscapes that inspired his art.
V.
a memorable afternoon spent learning lots and experiencing a show I couldn't have imagined. Well run with no queuing and friendly and helpful staff.
m. d.
Well worth a visit. Staff are very friendly, exhibition is really different and information is nicely presented and pitched well.
C. C.
The way they exhibited the paintings is very good and the way they have done the whole experience is well worth seeing ,and amazing
C. K.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Van Gogh experience! It was unlike any other exhibition I’ve ever been to and truly immersive. I went alone and enjoyed every minute of it!
K. R.
Superb experience. Exceeded our expectations. Very well pout together in every respect of the actual exhibition.
J. P.
What a fabulous immersive experience!!! Highly recommend this to everyone and not just art lovers. The VR (virtual reality) experience was something else. Still buzzing from it 😀 We paid £5 extra, on the day, for the VR and it was the best £5 I’ve spent in a long time !!!
T. H.
The experience itself was very entertaining and the venue quite impressive. Age range in our group was 2 - 66 and we all loved it. I can't give a 5 as the process was stressful. Our tickets were cancelled just days before we were all meant to attend, despite having pre booked months ago. No explanation was given. Also, the parking suggestions are incorrect ( Coach Park was closed) so we ended up running 1.5 miles with toddlers in tow.
N. A.
Fantastic. Artistically and technically very well worth it.
No public transport and limited parking nearby .
Publicity could be better and supervised childcare would be an improvement.
R. H.
Splendid event with ability to wander at will and soak up the quality and quantity of the layout and display format alongside the artworks. Immersive a chance to see animation of the stills and to wonder at the skill of computer adapted graphics. Thoroughly good value for money. R
L. P.
A truly spectacular exhibition, brilliantly curated. Would highly recommend a visit.
N. E.
Great afternoon out my two boys 5 and 4 really enjoyed it too. It was a great experience and very relaxing 😌
G. S.
An amazing experience.Staff very friendly and helpful.Easy wheelchair accessible, and Blue Badge parking.
J. P.
Absolutely blown away by this event. A truly amazing experience. We all loved it.
L. B.
An excellent experience. Definitely do the VR but don’t move the head set once it’s on as it will restart. .
J.
It’s hard to put into words how amazing this experience was!! You will not be disappointed.
m. c.
An amazing experience, well worth it . A must see.
L. B.
A really excellent, informative experience of Van Gogh's art. Superb graphics and animations of his works. Highly recommended for all.
C. M.
A seriously impressive example of how art can be displayed.
Even if you're not an art lover you'll likely still enjoy this.
P. M. H.
I would absolutely recommend this experience. We had an absolute fabulous time; staff are service excellence ready and the Bristol site has available great food and drink!
L. H.
Absolutely brilliant in every way. Van Gogh is one of my favourite artists, but even if he wasn't, as an art lover, I would have loved it too. ❤️
A. W.
A very interesting Experience. There is only a drop off area & no car parking available. You have to park elswhere on the street nearby
j. h.
Such a fantastic experience, I will do it again as each room has hours of potential engagement.
Wonderful!
S. E.
A fantastic experience, really enjoyable and very well managed.
A. G.
Out of this world exhibit! My autistic son enjoyed every minute! A bit pricey but we did enjoy it!
S. P.
A remarkable exhibition, innovative and creative, the room where you are immersed in the paintings was spectacular and actually very moving, beautifully done by people clearly passionate about sharing Van Gogh's talent. Thoroughly recommend.
J. E.
Really good, but they don't make enough of the bar/eatery attached at the back. Fascinating exhibition.
C. W.
An amazing experience and such a wonderful way to appreciate art.
S. O.
Absolutely fantastic, wonderful experience and very well organised. Would totally recommend
K. F.
Words cannot fully do this event justice - you have to see it for yourself. It is a totally joyous celebration of the life of an artist - he painted more than just sunflowers. This event is beyond amazing.
M. W.
Really wonderful experience. Lots of information and graphics of the paintings of the Master.
V. D.
Amazing experience. Loved it. Would definitely recommend.
P. F.
Great experience. Would recommend. Probably not for small children.
J. P.
I was inspired to have a go at painting Starry Night when I got home! Can't wait to revisit with my grandchildren.
A. E.
Fantastic exhibition, however, we found one spelling mistake in one of the pages (witch, instead of which) and the 3 bedroom page showed the 3 bedrooms as different locations to what was on the wall. Overall a lovely experience.
J. B.
This Immersive stuff is like nothing you've experienced before.
Allow time and just get immersed in every bit of the journey about Van Gogh. Score 100% for me and my daughter.(the deck chairs is a great idea.
G. J.
Great couple of hours especially the stunning VR section.🎨🎨
Only downside no parking and today Pizza 🍕 place wasn't open.
C. B.
Wow, what a wonderful experience!
The only downside was being distracted by the children climbing over what I assume was the air conditioning unit in the middle of the room whilst trying to watch and experience the paintings projected around the room, maybe a suggestion would be to put signs on the unit asking for children not to climb on it.
C. F.
Really enjoyed relaxing on a deckchair and getting immersed in Van Goghs paintings. The VR experience at the end was well worth it.
S. J.
Brilliant experience get there early on street parking only.
R. H.
Really great experience. Worth checking out
A. F.
Great experience for all ages. Thoroughly enjoyed by all xx
J. G.
Had the most wonderful experience at this exhibition ❤️, it's a must see.
K. J.
The exhibition was amazing just wished somewhere on the web site you advised there was disabled parking available, my disabled wife had to walk miles
S. W.
Amazing and way better than we had expected. Thankyou for a wonderful time.
E. B.
Really interesting, well organised and novel experience. All art galleries should take this approach.
H. Q.
Staff fantastic very friendly and helpful. Great venue great exhibition x
K. E.
Amazing experience! The whole exhibition really brought Van Gogh's work to life.
T.
Really enjoyable, immersive experience. Parking is a bit of a nightmare mid week.
A. C.
Loved this experience, particulary the immersive room which really made you feel close to Van Gogh's emotional states.
We were particularly impressed by the young staff; they were friendly, welcoming, and extremely helpful.
A wonderful, enlightening experience. Loved it.
T. B.
A mind blowing thought provoking experience. Absolutely amazing and highly recommended.
A. W.
Really enjoyed this experience, the journey through Goghs early life, influence’s and troubles.
The sit down art experience was amazing, really relaxing and thought provoking. Made me want to find out more about Van Gogh….
L. T.
Absolutely amazing. Could have spent all day in the 360 degree room.
A. J.
Excellent. Thought I knew Van Gogh but learnt and appreciated so much more. Go and visit.
D. B.
This was a great experience with stunning visual displays and graphics - not to be missed.
R. B.
The limit on attendance numbers meant no overcrowding, giving time and space to enjoy the occasion. The displays were very informative and the immersion room and VR were awesome
S. E.
Fabulous exhibition, well worth a visit. The VR is a must, absolutely amazing.
s. p.
Excellent experience, a very enjoyable 2.5 hours, you should definitely do it!
s. s.
Wow, speechless what a fantastic experience, loved every minute of it now please do a Monet one next
A. K.
Amazing experience, would also recommend the VR, loved it.
B. S.
Really great experience!! Learnt ALOT! Would recommend
P. N.
excellent experience - very emotional and moving. would highly recommend
R. W.
Well, that was different. Some parts brilliant, some disappointing. The paintings at the start, which were very well done, were somewhat spoiled by the amount of light being shone on them so you could only really see them from the side where you could avoid the blinding glare reflected back in your face. The big room with 360 imagery was at times awesome, although would occasionally descend into the realms of a twenty year old educational computer game. The VR bit was fantastic, although how much of that was due to it being my first go with VR and how much was the content I can't be sure.
To sum it up, I'm glad I went. And at the end of the day that's the only test that matters.
R. L.
A very engaging experience, well worth the entrance and the extra £5 for the VR section. Can’t wait for them to do Turner.
E. D.
Amazing. The most beautiful and emotive way of experiencing Van Gogh art. Moving to hear about his troubles with his mental health and how that is projected through his work. The immersive experience is exhilarating and I highly recommend this for art lovers!
I. P. S.
Amazing exhibition! I got to understand Van Gogh and his art on a deeper plane and really enjoyed the displays!
A. G.
Fabulous few hours spent here. Highly recommend. The VR was brill too
S. R.
A solid exhibition, it’s small but intimate. If you’re a fan of art and Van Gogh you’ll love it. If you don’t enjoy it you can always head out into the main area and enjoy some sourdough pizza and a drink. There’s also a bbq section also.
I would definitely recommend taking some time to try and take part colouring in/replicating some of his drawings with crayons. A fun experience for both families and couples. Only thing I’d point out is to bring headphones! You can scan each section and take a guided audio tour to some parts which I wasn’t aware of.
J. T.
Fantastic experience! Exceeded all my expectations
H.
The staff, the refreshments and the wonderful static and the immersive displays made this a most uplifting and memorable, perfect experience. Parking the only problem in the rain!
M. F.
Well worth seeing, the VR experience is really good
K. H.
A must do with children. Very immersive and engaging introduction to the painter, his inspiration and life presented in a unique and fun way.
L. C.
Absolutely worth seeing. We loved it!
G. P.
The most amazing visual experience, I shall remember this day forever, thank you
b. s.
Actually sat in the exhibition while writing this relaxing and beautiful experience worth a visit
L. C.
Brilliant experience - loved it. Highly recommend.
M. S. F.
A superb afternoon’s entertainment. The Van Gogh experience is fascinating, moving, educational & incredibly beautiful.
n. h.
Really good! Definitely worth a visit. 💙
J. M.
The exhibition is superb highly recommend. We lunched afterwards at don giovani which is just 10 , mins walk near the station which was excellent. The propyard is in an industrial estate we managed to park the car on a side street though be wary it's very congested. Parking at the venue is for disabled only
S. S.
This is a fabulous immersive experience , it is informative and inspirational for any budding artist, the venue is close to the train station with a cafe too, try the ice lolly’s they are very good!
B. S.
Really good little exhibit. Learnt a lot I didn't know about Van Gogh and the immersive hall experience was awesome. Definitely worth giving the vr a try too.
a. h.
It would have had 5 stars except that it was overcrowded.Spoilt the experience a bit,and the static art exhibition was so crowded we couldn't get near it
K. W.
We really didn't know what to expect but it far exceeded our expectations. We found the whole experience fully immersive, beautiful and calming. The virtual reality was a great bonus. We already loved Van Gogh's art but have learned so much more about him and his influences from today. Such a sad story. We really felt it to be great value for money.
D. P.
I wasn't sure what to expect from the Van Goch immersive experience but it had been widely advertised, we like to try different things and this was within walking distance of home. The display exceeded my expectations and I felt it was worth paying in advance for the VIP card to go straight into the Virtual Reality section at the end, which was stunning. It seemed as if I really could have gone for a drink in the café/bar by the sea wall.
The only let-down was the real café where drinks are still being served in cardboard cups. Cakes supposedly gluten-free were uncovered on the same board as gluten-containing cakes, and the same serving tongs were used. We waited in the queue cash in hand only to be told curtly at the point of being served - "no cash, cards only."
If you don't like cardboard cups, take your own reusable ones and Coeliacs take your own snacks.
Unsure why there was an online booking fee when everything was electronic. It wasn't as if tickets were posted to you.
s. t.
Absolutly worth the money the great Hall does what it says on the tin and Totally immerses you in to the world of Van gough and the VR was very impressive.
The whole experience was interesting and informative from start to finnish and a great new way of looking at art.
Unfortunately there was a couple of things that let it down so no 5 star review.
The first area you walk into was unorganised and annoying not the exhibition but the lay out it's a free for all people wondering where they like and pushing in front of each other. There is alot of reading in this part of the experience explainling Van gogh's lifeline state of mind ect but as there is no one way system in this room people obviously read at different speeds but there was so much congestion and people pushing past or standing in the way it was a very frustrating start and to my mind needs rethinking.
Secondly like most people that book the VIP ticket we are a couple so have two tickets however part of the VIP ticket is that you get a free poster with that ticket but there is only one poster option why do I want two of the same poster in one house? The family of 4 in front ended up with 4 posters all the same and ended up giving them to other people which then ment they didn't buy anything in the shop so the event lost money. a choice of different poster is a must at least two options.
M. W.
would have been a 5 if it was not for the security guard who made my wife show the contents of her bag inc opening her toiletry set for no good reason on entry. far too invasive for an art exhibition on bristol!
M. T.
A very different experience. Go with an open mind, relax, enjoy.
E. J.
Loved the different interpretations of Van Gogh's artwork. The main room with the immersive projections is a particular highlight.
Would definitely recommend this experience.
Parking is tricky so best to walk from Temple Meads if you're able to.
J. W.
What a wonderful exhibition this is. A great location a short walk from Bristol Temple Meads station with on site parking for Blue badge holders.
The exhibition is a lovely mix of the traditional with copies of Vincent's paintings, a short biography of his life, along with those people of import to him. From there you enter a room the size of a basketball court with all four walls covered in screens showing a continuous reel of Vincent's life and his paintings in a spectacular show. The setting is nicely laid out with deckchairs, benches and rugs so everyone can relax and enjoy the show that runs for about 30 minutes. From there you have the option to do the VR experience and it's well worth doing as you walk with Vincent from his bedroom, through the beautiful French countryside to a small town by the river, coming across the scenes that inspired the great man.
All in all I found this a truly wonderful exhibition and terrific value for money. Highly recommended.
G. C.
Went here with the family today and loved every bit of it. The app was great so you didn't have to stand infant of people reading the synopsis of each phase of his life. The immersive hall was so tranquil and atmospheric and the VR headsets blew our minds. Will be back for sure
D. B.
Absolutely 1st class from start to finish.
The staff we encountered were top draw.
The exhibition itself was mindblowing, especially the last bit with the deckchairs.
Very very well organised, extremely well put together from start to finish!
D. W.
Brings so much together and so much to life. The VR walk in the Arles of Van Gogh’s eyes is a remarkable achievement.
J. S.
brilliant exhibition. about 30 mins walk to the venue from the Hippodrome.
A. G.
An amazing experience, bringing the work of Van Gogh to life and helping to achieve a better understanding of how he worked and what drove him to create his masterpieces. The main event, the immersive experience, is truly incredible and just wonderful to behold. Thoroughly recommend this event.
A. M.
Fascinating exhibition - well worth a visit and the VR was mind blowing!
F. G.
The experience is truly magical. I'm a life long lover of Van Gogh but this experience allowed me to see his paintings in a new way. Do not miss this, you will be sorry.
H. W.
Wonderful and mesmerising. Artistically beautiful and historically enlightening.
P. J.
Just be aware absolutely no parking but on sides streets. We didn't know this and I did not wear appropriate footwear.
L. T.
Amazing exhibition, so glad I went to it. I learnt more about Van Gogh than I knew and the VR headset experience blew me away. Deliberately I took no photos as they would never capture the essence of what was perceived and felt whilst there. It's a 10 from me. Go do it, simple as that.
L. T.
Wonderful immersion into the life of Vincent. Take a deck chair and enjoy the show. Definitely try the reality headsets, you will love it.
A. S.
Brilliant! A fantastic way to experience culture.
A. F.
a fantastic experience that everybody should visit.
L. M.
An enthralling experience! Do not miss it 👍
T. A.
A great time but definitely too expensive, especially as it costs more than the actual Van Gogh experience in Amsterdam
C. F.
We enjoyed the Van Gogh Bristol experience today and would thoroughly recommend it, whether you are a fan of the artist or not. It was really different, enjoyable and informative.
K. A.
Fabulous engaging exhibition which brings new light into much loved works. Really engages and inspires, especially great for people who don’t traditionally go to art exhibitions.
D. V.
Bit chaotic to start..people not very considerate of others. Shouting at times!
E. M.
Informative and accurate scholarship, accessible imagery, well produced to a high technical standard. Dark room with mirrors not so successful.
R. L.
Didn’t know what to expect certainly not what I experienced. Excellent information about Van Gogh’s life and many paintings I had not seen before. The immersive experience is highly therapeutic.
E. H.
Fabulous exhibition of this great artists work. You can sit on a beautiful deck chair and be completely surrounded by a video presentation of his most famous paintings. It certainly is immersive. Suitable for all family members, even the toddlers who were there seemed to enjoy it. It's worth spending an extra £5 on the VR experience.
Gift shop a bit pricey, eg £2 for a postcard and there is no signage to the exhibition so you'd better get Google maps fired up if you're unfamiliar with the area.
Overall a great experience.
T. C. S.

Recommend going to the Van Gogh immersive experience in Bristol. Easy to get to, about a 15 min walk from Bristol Temple Meads railway station. You learn a lot about the artist and sitting on a deck chair with his paintings beamed around you to music on massive screens was a totally unique and thrilling experience.
G. C.
Highly recommended - original and superbly done.
C. B.
Fantastic exhibition, would highly recommend.
C. A.
I am no curator of art, I merely seek new experiences and this was a great one. I could only dream of having the creativity and imagination required to bring this artists work to life. Both striking and emotive, the whole family found the immersive experience a wonder. I recommend the VR at the end as well.
I am hoping for the Frido Kahlo to come to Bristol next!

Always loved his art, learned so much about him today, his mental issues, his talent, his determination to produce fine art, the final hall had the most artistic depiction? of his talent, whoever designed and set up thiis marvelous display, deserves the highest recognition, it was stunning, a must to visit for art lovers!

I have been to Van Gogh museum in Netherlands which was fantastic but This exhibition was on another level… super fantastic, phenomenal. The VR experience was a big WOW, feels like I was with Van Gogh himself! Well done to whoever arrange this exhibition and hope to see something similar to Gustav Klimt and Pablo Picasso
H. H.
Superb! From the pavement stencils from Temple Meads to the colouring activity and friendly staff - Just Superb!!
K. A.
(Translated) The place is wonderful, my imagination went on a journey of colors and brushes with Van Gogh, the painting room is wonderful, and the sitting room to live the paintings. I was another soul inside it, but vr is the most beautiful thing I spent in the exhibition
