Reviews of Jam Museum
L. H.
Small museum, however the tea room and gift shop make it worth visiting. I ordered a houllumi toastie and had 2 scones to take away for later.
The gift shop prices were amazing. I stocked up on condiments from brown sauce to jams and spirits.
B.
Lovely little museum and free to enter, but we did support them by buying lots of unusual jams at the shop next door. Our favourite in the museum was the bottle of "traffic jam"! You can see it in the display of old bottles.
T. B.
Nice place to visit, large car park, ample indoor & outdoor seating, we opted for outside, but a couple that came in after us, were served before us & a group that was in front of us (irritating).
Food was nice, museum was very interesting & free. Shop was a bit pricey.

Slight wait to be seated in the large tent beyond the main café and museum, but very quick service for lunch thereafter.
A companion's request for carb-free food was met with grace and easily fulfilled.
Our lunches were hot, fresh and very tasty.
Enjoyed a quick browse in the shop afterwards and came home with some chutneys and jams/curds (of course!). The Thursday Cottage cherry curd is particularly good 😋

Friendly and helpful staff. Dog friendly outside (marquee for if it's raining). Big portions for food, and all very tasty.

Very small but charming. The attached cafe is very expensive for average food but the cream tea scones ate fantastic.

Didn't go to the museum just the shop.
Regular visitor there as it stocks Tiptree products not available elsewhere.
G. E.
Very good worth the visit has a cafe and a shop to by jam
H. L.
I really liked the food, checked out the museum pretty boring since it was just about making jam. The service was very robotic and no one would talk about if we went there before and that upset me. Overall, would not go again. Food WAY to expensive, but that is it really. Didn't go to shop because the queue was way too big, we thought that in the shop there would just be jam.

An interesting room of artifacts, shame the factory was closed. At least got to buy some lovely jam in the shop. Why they have so many toys though makes it hard to visit with young children
J. W.
Lovely cafe. Stopped for a toasted tea cake and a flat white.
M. O.
lovely place to visit and a bit of a revelation seeing all the jam etc you have eaten in a cafe restaurant or hotel in the place where its made
S. S.
Interesting but smaller than we expected but it is free.

After a Lovely Tiptree Cream Tea we popped into the Free onsite museum, very insightful and interesting indeed! Great to keep places like this going, a slice of local history. Our lovely waitress had no issue with me changing the jam choice to Blackcurrant as I don't like strawberry either. Recommended

Friendly staff and good food.

Very pleasant lunches quite pricey but good quality and service. Museum very interesting and the shop sold lots of nice gifts. Plenty of jams to buy including reduced sugar jams.
J. H.
Lovely cafe with delicious food. The shop has a great range of spreads especially looking forward to trying the chocolate mint spread! Museum was interesting.

Went with my boyfriend looking for something to do near Chelmsford. Sad we didn't go on a tour, but the museum bit was alright, we see these jams pretty much everywhere and today I had the pleasure of seeing where they came from. The shop bit was really good, especially the 3 jams for £1 offer. We didn't get anything to eat, but a pot of tea was only £2 which was very decent. Would definitely come back, hopefully with my family next summer for a good day out. I'm surprised I could jam this all into one visit 😉.

Really lovely place and really informative. Cream teas were lovely and the scones were fresh. A great afternoon to be had, shame the farm tours were not on.

Free entry, toilets and car park. Video about the history of the factory. Some dressing up for kids. There is a shop and cafe. We didn't go on the tractor tour of the farm.
