Reviews of Coombe Country Park
M. F.
Didn't go round the house, but I'm sure the inside was grand and spectacular. The park was excellent. There a river that goes to house. Bird food is available to buy at the park. Don't feed them bread! Great for young and old of all ages. Lots of trails to walk. Plenty of places sit, benches are dotted around. There's a Go Ape facilities. Plenty of toilets. Cafè, and ice cream parlours around the site. It is a working park, so watch out for tractors and other moving vehicles.
A. E.
Not much to dislike about Combe Abbey Country park. The grounds are kept clean and the paths are smooth enough for a pushchairs or wheelchairs. The park could do with some table benches and perhaps another building comprising of WC facilities. It's nice for some fresh air and an afternoon walk.
A. F.
Lovely place for a walk. Dog and people friendly. Easy access paths for disabled people. Parking reasonable (card only now) Indoors cafe and shop.
Walk has forest area so good shade for the hot summer days.
Would recommend for walks whatever age.
A. R.
Very nice park for the family.
There is a few activities for children and adult, tree climbing, play area, throwing axes, nice lake with alot of ducks, big green space and trees, small shop for hot, cold drinks and delicious ice cream.
There is toilets if need.
I did not book in the hotel but I will try next time.
I really enjoy it and recommend every one needs to have nice time with family go and enjoy it.

When the weather is like this you can really see the beauty of Coombe Abbey.
Wildlife, nice walks and perfect weather, what more could you ask for ??
Always nice to walk around here and think of nothing but the beauty of nature.
The paths are always looked after, the grass is always neat.
The facilities are good, multiple kiosks to buy food and drinks.
I'd say the pricing for food & drink is reasonable on par with most places.
Been coming here since I was a kid with my parents and now I'm able to take my children around and have adventures in the wooded areas, building huts and pretending to hunt bears lol
Glad this place is still goimg strong.

Coombe Country Park is a wonderful place, especially for kids who love Go Ape doing different activities. It may be a historical building when you see it, but don't that fool you, in reality it is actually a hotel. There are 2 separate car parks, the hotel and in the country park. Really recommended.
M. R.
A fantastic place to go for walks with beautiful scenary, the garden are spectacular and the woodland area is great too. The bird house is fantastic and provides a great viewpoint of the birds. Lots of things on offer here perfect for a day out with friends and family. Great day out.
P. M.
Beautiful biodiverse environment throughout the seasons - calming, rejuvenating, exhilarating. Great place for walks, bird watching (especially nesting herons), picnics, fun. Close to Coventry and Rugby; hourly buses (#85) to the entrance gate.
J. A.
Lovely place to take the kids and go for a walk for several hours. It is better in the dryer weather than wet though as it can get very muddy there. Has large open areas and lots of woodlands as well. The GoApe that is there is also great for the kids and the Hotel gardens make a nice contrast to the wild forests to walk as well.
S. V.
A great place to visit any time of the year with its 500 acres of parkland consisting of lakes and woodland a haven for wildlife, Large car park thats not free and a seperate disabled car park that is free to Blue badge holders. Coombe is always busy with lots of people escaping the city. Accessability for wheel chair and disability scooters is very good although some of the woodland paths can get tricky to negotiate in wet weather, The only toilets are at the visitors centre, Go ape and the ice cream parlour by the small lake, I was dissapointed when told none of the kiosks (not sure about the cafe) no longer take cash payments.
h. g.
As always, a great mix of semi wilderness and beautiful lawns. Big old trees, water and wildlife. Great children's play area and a greater one for big kids too .
P. P.
A lovely park to visit. Has lots of wildlife and large grounds just to sit and chill out. The park also has the Coombe Abbey hotel
J. M.
Lovely country park with lake and many different types of wild fowl. Large visitors center housing shops and a cafe. Payments by card only.
M. P.
Delightful parkland with beautiful walks around the house and hotel. Dog friendly, with areas set aside to exercise your dog of the lead. Cafe open 7 days a week with good variety of food available. Cashless payment at parking area.
A.
Large open area right outside Coventry.
Plenty to walk around and explore the open area.
Several activities for kids & toddlers are also available on site.
A. C.
One of the best country parks i ever been. So clean and well organised! Can t wait to come back
L. J.
A gorgeous country park not too far from the hustle and bustle of Coventry city centre. Beautiful colours and a variety of trees and nature to be enjoyed. We did the 2 mile walk and went into the bird house. This secluded piece of serenity allowed us to absorb the peaceful birds and scenery. Also saw Standing with the Giants NHS exhibition by Dan Barton here in Autumn 2021.
A. F.
Coombe Abbey is my happy place whether I'm staying in one of the unique and luxurious rooms or have popped in for a reasonably priced lunch in the bar. This hotel and restaurant is unique, there is nothing else like it in the world. The staff will accommodate your every need in a quintile traditionally English manner., and the decor and historical aspects, make this location an utter pleasure to visit
T. Z.
Beautiful park especially on a hot day. Amazing walk and wildlife. Nice walk with a loved one.
C. N.
It's a very nice park/place perfect for a sunny day or a Sunday walk.
J. D.
It was great so so much fun we brought the dog and they enjoyed themselves so much there’s so much space to let dogs run around but there’s also space for children to play to . It’s absolutely incredible I enjoyed my self so so much such a great place for photography so much to explore to
J. S. S.
Good parking facility, and a well maintained paths.
I didn't get in time to try the Go Ape adventure but it looked fun. I'll definitely visit again.
I. T.
Lovely place for a walk with beautiful scenery and nice variety of routes to take.
Nice place to get snacks and drinks. The lotus biscoff ice cream makes a perfect on-the-go treat :)
J. B.
Great country park. With lots of scenic walks around the lake and the main grounds which is great for dog walks or mountain bikes. There is also a go ape and a zip line which is great for kids.
D. “. B.
First time here and it was absolutely beautiful!
The upkeep of the park is flawless especially considering the herds of people who come to drink and have BBQs on the sunny days.
We went on the trail to get a feel of the natural environment which I highly recommend if you want to get away from the crowd.
So much history and natural preserved scenes like the duck pond and streams.
Can't believe it's taken us so long to go but we're major fans now!
S. K.
What a venue, 10/10s all round. Manor House maintained to a very high standard. Staff were excellent and handled all enquiries with great efficiency.
B. O.
Beautiful place to go. There is a boat that u can go on. Fantastic experience. Lovely staff.
T. L. F.
Really nice country park, lots of space to get out, explore and even when busy you can escape the crowds. Lots of parking and reasonably priced, nice play area, two sets of toilets which were clean for the children to use and a couple of places to buy drinks, snacks etc. We got cones of chips (£2.50 each) from the Top Pool Kiosk, which were very nice for a treat on the walk.
K. C.
We visited the park rather than the hotel. This is a gorgeous park with a nice mix of manicured gardens, parkland and arboretum walks. The landscaping was done by Capability Brown. There is also a Go Ape on site. The car park fee is quite good value considering the level of upkeep the park requires, £5 gets you a whole day. You can take a picnic or there are cafes on site. The hotel offers afternoon tea. You may take dogs on a lead. BBQs are not permitted.
The lake has a large population of waterfowl but expect to be mobbed by pigeons if you attempt to feed them (bird feed is available from the cafe). There were lots of grey squirrels and we also saw a young rabbit. They were very confident and close to the path so I'm assuming visitors have kept dogs under control and don't bother the wildlife.
The pathways are wheelchair and pushchair friendly. The playgrounds will entertain adventurous children.
I've given the park 4* even though it should be 5 given how gorgeous and well maintained it was. The loss of star is because there were quite a few spots where visitors decided to abandon their rubbish. I don't think grounds keeping staff should have to clear up but maybe there should be harsh penalties for littering. There are bins on site.
I would definitely come back again. Really looking forward to visiting the hotel and having afternoon tea.
K. W.
This is a delightful park with clearly marked and easily navigated pathways through mixed woodland, often skirting the huge lake. An abundance of wildlife if you are quiet. Never yet seen it too busy and a nice cafe to end your walk with a hot chocolate!
J. M.
A lot to be happy about, literally nothing to complaint.
ideally go here with a vacuum flask of hot coffee/tea and some snacks.
have a seat on the bench's or the grass and have a quite time.
if you see ducklings consider that a bonus.
the water bodies re quiet while the birds are chirpy. you can take your dog for a walk/run as well.
parking is paid ~1Pound per hour.
L. T.
A nice place for an afternoon walk
Cheap parking. Pretty views. Places for refreshments.
j. x.
Nice walk round , not very busy once past the main cafe /visitor area .
More peaceful out in the wooded areas .
J. C.
Great place to go will plenty to keep the kids entertained
J. T.
A great place to go and be outside with your family and friends! There's plenty of open space, a field where your dogs can be off lead, and then a couple of nice walking trails around the park. Lovely wooded areas and some water too. There's a kiosk near one of the ponds go buy ice creams, drinks and bird food - you can also buy food and drink at the main visitors centre too, where you will also find the toilets.
Payment for the car park is currently card only I believe, and you pay before you get back to your car. There's a children's play area by the visitors centre, and there is also a play area in the woods near the kiosk.
At the moment for Easter there is a little trail around the park for children to find bunnies with letters on - you can download the map online for free.
It's a really beautiful place to go, especially in the sunshine!
C. D.
I love coombe Abby. Take my two Jack Russell’s here pretty much every week. Meet friends for a walk there as well. It is an incredibly beautiful place to visit. There are a number of other facilities as well for you to enjoy. The Abby itself is a fascinating building steeped in history along with the grounds themselves. It does get busy on bank holiday and half terms so bear that in mind but well worth visiting this place.
A. W.
It's such a pretty place to go for a walk, whatever the weather. There are some good, stable paths, lovely spaces (like a mini bluebell field), a pet cemetery, statues..
For those with pushchairs, I'd be wary going too far into the wooded areas as it gets hilly and the path gets uneven. Carriers are probably better!
A. S.
I go every weekend with my son who loves the walk round round the woods etc. Place is pleasant and nice but lately dog meets are causing a concern as dogs are let loose and running havoc in packs. I nearly got knocked over by one protecting my son and covered in mud. Plus not picking up dog mess either. At this rate we may go elsewhere till these people and their dogs go elsewhere!!!
C. D.
Fresh air and refreshing views one can enjoy and be one with nature. Strolling or picnic with family Coombe Abbey is the best place to be.
I. L.
If you have not been there yet, you should definitely go because you will not regret it and you will remain impressed by this amazing place. It is a large park with lots of fun activities for kids and adults as well. Beautiful views and plenty of space to relax and enjoy a quality time with your loved ones.
P.
Beautiful place to lose yourself in, great for the kids and plenty to do, picnics, Go Ape, bouncy castle and merry go round, great for the dogs too and can finish off with a coffee and ice cream and also treat the dog to a scoop 😀
T. “. M. D. K.
Went with our 5 year old son who took his bike. Beautiful place for walks and picnics.
We arrived at 10:am and had a lovely breakfast in the cafe.
D. W.
I'm at the bushcraft show 2022 and what lovely grounds abd woodlands
s. m.
The play park is disappointing. I have a 5 year old granddaughter. There were no swings for her. The zip wire is only suitable for very small children due to baby style seat, I struggled to lift her in and she struggled to sit in it, it was so small. The climbing frames are ok but she cut her hand while using the climbing wall. All the seats face away from the swings and it was hard to sit and be able to see the children. Not very relaxing. I'm sure alot of money was spent on it, it looks very nice. My granddaughter said she didn't like it, the other play area was more fun, she missed the little shop she played in. She loves swings but the ones there are baby swings and she didn't fit in well and again I struggled to lift her, they are high and I am not tall. I am a youngish Nana and am usually able to lift her in and out of things but not this time. You needed to consult with parents of children who are beyond babyhood.
K. Z.
Highly recommend this park. Well maintained and plenty of space for picnics, great place to spend the whole day.
Plenty of parking spaces and prices are reasonable as it helps keep the park maintained. They accept cash and card.
Toilet facilities provided.
Visitors seem to forget that we are in the middle of a pandemic and not wearing masks when in close contact with other people they don't know, especially in the toilets. Please use a mask when near other people 🙏🏼
Only one negative comment. Extortionate prices for ice cream. Taking advantage of people as there is no competition around. I hope a good portion of that profit goes towards the employees salary and not in the owners pocket.
S. F.
Very nice and well maintained country park. It is one of the few places in the UK, where I felt the smell of the pine trees. It is a good place to walk around and admire the squirrels or the swans from the lake. Also there is a large car park, hotel, two cafeterias and a dedicated area for BBQ. Highly recommended if you are a nature lover!!
F. G.
Nice nature sights, I like crossing it from the city and going through Bibles woods.
Z. S. M.
Parking charges, great pleace to visit , very relaxing, great punting as well.
N.
Very beautiful park and the hotel just adds to it. I recommend the go ape activity centre which you can pay and pre book. Had multiple visits there and love coming back there every month or so.
C. T.
This was a very enjoyable day as it was the 1st weekend we could meet up with other family members after lockdown. We were 7 adults & 4 children. All family. We started with a lovely picnic at the top small playground at the side of the buildings. The children, 10 & under, played on the playground whilst dabling with the food whilst us adults sat & chatted. We spent 2 hours here before we moved round through the woods till we got to the big play area where we spent another couple of hours. Much to do for the children with the adults helping the younger of the children (aged 5 & 7) maneuver round the ropes etc. As I said, a very enjoyable day & the forecast heavy rain held off. It was warm if dressed for the weather. Would fully recommend the park to anyone with children, or anybody who just wanted to walk round observing the lovely scenery. The end.
I. W.
The park is a very nice place to go for a day out. Unfortunately the day can be spoiled due to the annoying amount of wasps. I am pretty sure that the owners can install some form of wasp deterrent (as other places have) for a much more enjoyable experience.
P. R.
Coombe Abbey Hotel and Country Park is wonderful to visit any time of year. The park grounds are superb and the hotel deserves its 5* rating. The afternoon tea is amazing and so tasty. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
J.
Nice tranquil place near coventry. Family friendly with really nice forest and some activities such as Go ape and axe throwing. Parking is not expensive, so definitely worth a visit
r.
Popular with dog walkers and grandparents/parents with young children during term time.
Coventry's best park land offers stunning views including the beautifully maintained hotel and the vast variety of trees.
A brand new free children's play area has opened for the under 12's and free bike repair facilities too.
The Visitor Centre and cafe are worth visiting.
There are toilet facilities at the building and in other places.
Parking charges apply at reasonable rates, cash or cashless options.
No BBQS allowed but picnics are.
O. L.
Large open manicured gardens. The trees are magnificent Plenty of benches to sit on. Great for walking and relaxing. There is a cafe where you can purchase food and drink. There is a children's play area. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
H. M.
Wow what a beautiful place.
We had afternoon tea. There are a few choices. To name a few, there is the Abbot s tea, the knights tea, which is my favourite. The shepherds pie is by far the nicest, tastiest food I've tasted in a long time.
The Abbey itself is a functional hotel and restaurant. I cant comment on the accommodation as we never stopped overnight.
The gardens and lake are in such a wonderful setting. Plenty of swans, ducks etc.
The park has a huge wide open space big enough to play cricket, football or many other grass games.
Food and drinks are available all year round. Public toilets are in the main grassed area.
Wheelchair accessible parking.
Plenty of car parking. At present its £2 for eight hours or £5 for hours.
A must visit place and dont forget to have afternoon tea. Smart casual dress is required.
Enjoy
K. E.
Grat places to enjoy nature.

Had a lovely day out at Coombe Park. The site is huge and there are lots of places to walk. Visitor centre Cafe staff are really friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend it. Parking is really cheap too, only cost us £3.50 for about 4 hours.
Nb. Some of the facilities are limited due to covid-19. The parent & baby changing room is shut. They told us its because the council felt it would have to be cleaned after every use.
j. w.
Hadn't been to Coombe for a very long time... Both me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful autumn walk through the woods.... My dog absolutely loved the rustling and running around in the leaves..... We cannot wait to go back
A. B.
this is truly a gem. I will definitely come back
P. H.
Beautiful place to walk and lovely cream teas served by really nice staff. There is also a wooded area where you can zip wire, a kids playground.
S. K.
Perfect place for a Sunday morning walk. So peaceful and quiet. Good place for cycling too.
N. M.
The great outdoors. There's nothing more relaxing.
Walking through the woods, sitting and watching or feeding the ducks and swans.
They also have a go ape and if you go down the path it leads to a little but where you can see the river and all other animals.
Amazing beautiful family fun.
I love it💟💟💟
Taking my grandson is perfect place to go. We have so much fun😁
M. S.
One of my go to places since childhood. Lots of amazing memories here as Coombe Park has lots to offer.
During the summer season you can bring a Bbq and have a picnic in a huge designated space for all visitors. It has 2 kids play areas including a new attraction GO APE!.
Coombe Park also has a picturesque hotel and stream going through the park. You can feed the ducks along the way. The park is very big for walks and for learning opportunities for kids about wildlife and plants.
You do have to pay a small fee for parking. They also have a cafe on site for visitors inc public use of toilets.
Highly recommended!
N. B.
Beautiful experience Knight's Afternoon tea.
N. W.
Had a very nice birthday lunch here and the kids spent time playing in the grounds. Lovely place with lots to do in the good weather.
M. A.
Busy , b warned
Very nice place with pools for wildlife plenty of seating and paths to explore the woodland and park. Great for couples or with the kids
S. A. N.
Nice open space to spend a day out. Brilliant for families and dog walkers. Clean toilet facilities. GoApe for a fee (not sure how much), £3 all-day parking, enough space for BBQ parties, beautiful hotel grounds.
S. P.
Beautiful gardens. Be aware that some parts of the grounds belong to the Coombe Hotel located within Coombe Park. The Hotel is set in a Gothic setting and reputed to be haunted. Has a moat and manicured gardens. Old fashioned tea with scones and cakes are quite nice and popular with outside guests.
R. s.
Wonderful place. We arrived early and got a shady spot in the carpark (charges apply - a max £5 for 4hrs+ or all day). Headed down into the woods for a walk then made our way back upto the visitor centre cafe for lunch, discovering a little pet cemetery near the abbey hotel. After a couple of hours in the play area Jack was hot and tired and ready to go home. The carpark was overflowing when we left.
N. C. M.
Very nice and vast park with lot of nature. It’s a bit away from the city noise hence a good detox of you want it.
D. f.
A lovely country side park on the outskirts of Coventry. A great place to spend a few hours for a local and a must see for any visitors!
E.
Lovely place to have a walk round and maybe a picnic, the grounds of the hotel are very scenic and there are wooded areas and lakes surrounding it. You can take dogs on the lead for the majority of it but there are also areas where dogs are allowed off the lead. You don't have to pay to enter but pay to park. Nice place to go in nice weather, I am keen to try the afternoon tea in the hotel.
B. B.
Very good park to spent time with family also there are adventure sports, parking is available, nice shops in case we are hungry all over good experience
L. S.
Lovely country park with plenty of space for dogs :) if u have a dog you will love this park. It has go ape in it as well 😉🙊
N. G.
Lovely day out, nice walks, quiet early on with lots of parking. Only had to pay for parking, so a surprisingly cheap family day out
C. E.
Beautiful place to visit fun for all the family, reasonably priced car parking.
W. E.
Probably my favorite park in Coventry! Its absolutely beautiful, breath taking and great for families with a nice and clean play area.
T. J.
I have never visted Coombe Country Park before and I was not disappointed. It's free to visit you just need to pay for car parking which is very reasonably you can stay for four hours for £3.80 anything over that then its £5. For a family day out you can't complain!
If you've brought your own food there are plenty of benches for you to sit down and eat. The benches are quite spaced out so you don't feel like you're on top of everyone else! There are two play areas one for younger children and another which is based off the ground similar to go ape but on a much smaller scale.
There are a variety of ducks, geese and swans to feed. You can walk through the woods if you want to explore and there are lots of different walks you can take. You can walk up to Coombe Abbey itself up to a certain point and you view the surrounding gardens.
If you enjoy nature, walks and want to view natural beauty then this place is definitely worth a visit.
M. M.
Amazing place to visit...you have a lot place to see, activities and make photos... fantastic
Relaxing place , you are in nature 🏞️
J. D.
Coombe is always a great place to go but you cant beat a bank holiday Monday walk on the grounds.
Since I last went it seems they've made improvements to the walkways and signage, and it's overall more interactive and engaging for all ages
Definitely a good place for spotting water fowl, and you're likely to see geese, Moor hens, ducks, swans and herons. The pigeons are also very plump, lucky them.
There is a choice of trail to embark on, in addition to checking out the estate itself, and 2 places to get refreshments and relieve yourself
The park is dog friendly and you'll see plenty of happy puppers getting a good bit of exercise.
A caution, the parking is not free and can cost a bit if you stay a long time. It's also not well signposted, although there's more space to park now. Make sure to pay attention to where you need to turn in to find a space. The car park is also cashless, so bring a card!
Enjoy this amazing overhead shot of the old tree we got!
E. B.
We stopped on our way from Norfolk to Wales, it was ideal, lots of space to run around and a nice playground.
I. H.
What a wonderful experience. I organised a day out with the family. At first family complained its just like war memorial park. But after walking around, they realised there's much much more to see. Lived in Coventry over 20+ years, not once visited here, now regret why didn't I. Car park charges £3 all day. Bring your barbecues or picnic. Can get hot meals here too. Fun day out for all the family. If your Muslim, plenty of spaces available to read in the park, just bring your prayer mats. ENJOY!!!
V. J.
Very good place to spend a day in Coventry.
r. p.
Very nice day. Lovely walk round. Kids enjoyed it. Car park well priced for what you can do.
S. O.
This place has a lovely scenery. I went to the pub in the park for a wedding reception and the environment was great. Outside the pub in the park there was an open air cinema taking place. It was pleasing to see it was packed full with families despite the fact it was a bit chilly. The only parking here is paid parking ie, ticket in and pay before leaving. I didn't have the opportunity to see all the park has to offer but from the little I saw it seem to be a great place for families and activities.
P. G.
Lovely place, beautiful walks, go ape not cheap at £33 each, will be going again.
R. R.
Artisan country fair today. Really well organised. Lovely grounds. Refreshments available.
M. Z.
Amazing garden good for a family day out
T. r.
Lovely place! Some very nice walks. Was very busy, but isn't normally.
C. W.
Nice spot for a walk, though only for an hour's walk. Flat paths. Busy even on a winter weekday. Parking charges crazy. I arrived 10 mins before my friend and had to pay £3 for my 1hr 10, my friend only £1 for his 1hr 2. Slightly annoying.
M. P.
Best for family 😉 nice place for walking, biking and picnics. Kids will enjoy the woods and play area.
M. P.
Great for family walk and view of the Abbey that is now a hotel and slightly separated for the large grounds to the estate. Looking slightly run down in places during the woodland walks but has Go-Ape for some tree top fun.
M. P.
Overcast day but a nice visit. Lots of land and areas to either sit and have a picnic, play some form of sport or just go around for a walk. Great location for people of all ages
S. K.
Great place to explore, walk & play. Go ape was great fun and not expensive.
S. G.
Lovely place to go for a day out. Loads for kids to do and dog walk ways.
S. C.
My self and my wife love visiting Coombe Country Park! We visited last Saturday as it was a gorgeous 18 degrees outside. All though it was very busy in the car park and cafe, as you venture into the woods it tends to get quieter and more peaceful. We soon found our selves enjoying the peace and quiet of nature. I especially enjoy the large Redwood trees, they are magnificent! I would recommend you give Coombe Country park a visit one weekend, especially if the weather is nice.
G. B.
We stopped here to break up a long journey and were disappointed to not have more time here.
You pay for your parking on return to your car. The park itself is free to explore. Dogs on leads are allowed in most areas and all the routes are clearly labelled. There is a field where they can play off lead too.
The grounds were beautiful and full of ducks, swans, geese, pigeons, herons, egrets and squirrels.
The food in the café was delicious, with huge portions. Even better, our dog was able to join us in the café and there is doggy ice cream available if you want to treat them.
The toilets at the visitor centre are open until 8pm, when the carpark closes. There are others behind the kiosk in the centre of the park, that close earlier.
The play-area is great for young children and there's plenty of space for older kids to run around and play football, climb trees etc.
The thing we found most impressive were the provision for cyclists of a bike pump and tools, outside the visitor centre.

Coombe Abbey is a great place for a day out or walk. Great grounds, with café and shops. Lots of different walks. Adventure play areas. Reasonable car parking charges.
D. A.
Place to rest surrounded by nature. Great place to have a picnic, BBQ, walk with dog and rest from the city noise.
T. W.
Beautiful place, very busy on a sunny Sunday afternoon
E. F.
Just been to Luminate and loved it. Very well organised, didn't feel busy or rushed. Highly recommended
M. P.
Beautiful old building now a hotel.
Go ape now a feature in the woods
A lovely ramble in the woods with lots of wildlife. In cluding a Heronry and a hide so you can observe them without disturbing
I. C.
A great place to relax for children and adults, and even pets.
A. B.
Fantastic place for all the family pet friendly. House and grounds are beautiful.Go ape in the forest area for the daring. Every 2nd Sunday of the month there is a Artisan market.
T. M.
Lovely park on the edge of Coventry. Ideal for walks, picnics, dogs and kids.
The grounds are lovely and very colourful, lots of wildlife trails for children to follow.
A large lake has a bird hide for viewing.
Refreshments are available.
The hotel is lovely, and nice for a drink on the terrace.
H. N.
I love coombe abbey park, shared a quiet stroll with my daughter in the sun and green. Lovely.
F. E.
Afternoon tea experience from previous year. Gluten free option not very exciting. Runny raspberry jelly no fruit. Scone bit small. No substitute for quiche . Mine ok not rushing back. Park lovely staff helpful
L. R. L.
I love being here. It's large park, perfect to hangout in afternoon / evening. Love the fresh air and enjoying picnic here.
H. W.
A lovely walk, past the shop and playground and then the duck pond. Then through mixed evergreen and deciduous woods to the adventure playground.
Lots for kids to look at and play on and amenities like toilets, shops, cafes and plenty of benches for adults.
There are also big grassy areas which are perfect for picnics.
Dogs can go too as long as they are keep on the lead (there are ducks, sheep and rabbits all over the place).
There is now even a HUGE Go Ape, for large and medium sized kids, be warned, it's very high.
T. B.
Never been her before, it was lovely very busy however probably due to weather. Great for a stroll in the dappled shade. Nice ice cream
N. C.
Great open spaces and woodland walks. Taking forever for the children's playground to be revamped. Parking space adequate and machines efficient.
R. H.
Beautiful park with a peaceful ambience. The park looked well kept and has some beauty animals to take delight with too.
S. C.
Place is good.. they have benches, toilets and food stalls… you could click good photographs… also they have a collection of red wood trees and they are amazing… ❤️
A. W.
Really lovely stay, lots of Covid-19 safety methods in place. Afternoon tea was yummy!
A real treat! Thankyou staff for being very accommodating and helpful.
S. T.
At the weekend I had an astonishingly fabulous time at the Coombe Country Park. Taking away the return to work hours by going for a run round the tracks. The park was nicely busy with parents and children enjoying the last day before returning to school term. What a delight.
I also saw on a bench a wreath, albeit placed pre-Christmas the sentiment on the card was lovely.
Additional work going on with some crafty handiwork - converting a old tree stump into an owl work of art ... Using a chainsaw! Fabulous! 😃
J. H.
Lovely grounds for walking/picnics. Ponds and Lakes, nature walks, bird hide for viewing. Beautiful building, now a hotel I believe. 'Go Ape' treetop adventures with mammoth zip line available. Inexpensive car park charge.
1st visit this time, will revisit from Leicester.
G. L.
Nice and quiet place to spend the day with family and friends.
K. M. Y. M.
Very nice and beautiful place
Kashi Malik
D. H.
Beautiful place to walk around. Ample parking. Can get busy but the walks I usually quieter. Go Ape is a new feature looks really fun.
I. B.
£3 a day to park, good value with a large estate to walk around and some nice woodland play equipment for kids to play on. Dog friendly too.
G. B.
Lovely park and great walking
H. T. T.
Had fun with the ducks and geese and a fun ride around on our bikes. Very clean well kept Park.
A. O.
Wonderful place for get together…
E. M.
Fantastic park, miles of paths, great things to do with families and very dog friendly - including ice cream for dogs 😘
M. T.
Fantastic park with a lot to do but absolutely awful in terms of number of pay stations considering the size of the place. Allow an extra 10-20 minutes to just pay.
B. K.
Verey beautiful and calm place deffo will visit again
K. W.
Beautiful country park with nice trails to follow, newly refurbished park area for the children to play
D. T.
Went here to go for a walk with a friend. The whole site is very impressive and was clean and tidy. Stopped in the bird hide and it was very nice and quiet. Had some lunch in the cafe which served good food and was reasonably priced. Overall a very nice day out.
R. G.
Stunning place for day out. During weekends is pretty busy however during weekday is so peaceful and quiet.
A. A.
Lovely park on the outskirts of Coventry. Onsite parking, visitor centre and a murderous Swan that was trying to drown a duck on the day we went.... fortunately someone stepped and separated the swan from the duck (So a happy ending all round)
E. P.
This place is amazing. They have a park, restaurant and so many activities. If you love Go Ape, walking in the woods, nice scenery then try this place. I will definitely return...
H. G.
Great place for kids.. can buy duck and swan food from the shop, there's a lovely play park, you can stroll around the manicured lawns and into the woods, plus parking is very cheap. There's a Go Ape there now which is interesting to watch with little kids... It can get quite busy at the weekend.
p. y.
Just had a wonderful weekend there ,a little expensive but well worth it 👌
R. S.
Lovely place does get really busy.. great walk good park 4 the kids toilets if needed big pond to feed the ducks to..
S. P.
Coombe Abbey is a great place to walk I spotted the Christmas Reindeer 🎄 taking a lie down by moat. Cinema 🎥 is coming soon.
S. S.
I hadn't been here for years and the only thing I didn't like was the fact that the cafe and car park was card payment only, I don't have a credit/debit card so for future use it will be picnics
A.
Lovely grounds for the family to enjoy the trails and surrounding park area
V. D.
Beautiful park, go place to go for walk..
Е. К.
Nice place to spend a sunny day with family, huge park, bbq area, and kids playground, Recommended!
K. R.
Park is nice but it lacks of bins. We had to carry our rubbish around there wasn't any bin by the paths.
J. B.
Was a great day out with the kids, enough for a 9 year old, and a 18 month one.
R. J. F. (.
Great staff, great location and the venue is perfect for a little commuting getaway. A leisure centre would make it 5/5
K. W.
Fabulous had a great day with granddaughters
P. V.
A lovely park to go and enjoy a day out. Stayed for 4 hours walking around the garden, under the trees and playing with the kids.
T. T.
A beautiful country park , unfortunately there are instances of some people too lazy to find one of the many litter bins located in ground's . Apart from that , it's a great location to spend time just walking .
A. L.
Amazing. We had a private room for mothers day and a 3 course meal for 11. Really relaxed, great food lovely surroundings and fantastic service. Really reasonable price.
S. &. T. P. P.
A really lovely place to take photos of dogs. Great for walkies that fill your soul as well as your furbaby's. There are fields and wooded areas where they can run and play. All on & off-leash areas are well sign posted.
It can get busy at the weekends, so I've found it better to visit during the week, very early morning or after the lunchtime rush leaves as the best times to bring dogs which are more uncomfortable or easily distracted by children, people or other dogs.
There's a path as you walk along the river that can get quite muddy so be prepared for pups potentially needing bath times if you're walking in the Winter.
Aaand you'll even a dog friendly cafe as you come in/out through the carpark which even sells doggy ice cream!
K. S.
Had nice walk in the woods great place highly recommended
I. A.
Brilliant for family day out and activities lots of walking involved
A. P.
I highly recomend going. I first went to coombe when I was little. Whenever I went to my grandmas she would take me and my family there so this place means alot to me. Its beautiful and its for all age groups. Theres an amazing park and cafe. There is a gift shop and if you go be sure to take birdsead to feed the ducks, pigrons and swans. We had the joys of seeing baby swans this year and I cant wait to go again.
Please note: you do have to pay for parking but you pay by card. You can pay with money but you have to go to the parking machine inside coombe and you scan the parking ticket on the way out.
C. R.
Great park. Big an spacious. Beautiful scenery. Café here too, although the hot drinks are rank except the tea (which you make yourself any way) and the hot chocolate.
D. T. N. (.
A wonderful place to spend the weekends with your loved ones. The track is about 10,000 steps to get through with numerous spots to explore.
g. a.
Good place for family out.
P. O.
We love Coombe, great dog walking. Beautiful space. Great facilities, toilets, coffee shop and go ape. The hotel is also pretty special.
j. g. j.
Walking around the park was lovely but when I wanted a soft drink after waiting in a long queue they had no water or coke only sprite, which I can't drink. It was not that late in the day, on a warm bank holiday and they didn't seem to be prepared for a busy day
H. T.
Beautiful, clean space with a number of different walks. Suitable for kids as well as they have a playground for both younger and older children. Have to pay for parking but can pay by card. Go Ape is also situated here.
R. m.
Disappointed with cafe in the park. Very quiet but no staff on duty other than a girl stocking display. Asked if anyone serving. She replied that someone would be along soon. Nobody came so after 10 minutes decided to go. Went outside and saw the 2 staff having a cigarette. Annoyed.
L. W.
Love coming for a walk around the grounds at coombe abbey anytime of the year, it is always beautiful
a. b.
Lovely stop off M69, lots of parking, great visitors centre and brilliant woodland walks.
M. H.
This a great place for all the family, views and walk abouts and children have a good play area, go there in summer and it's a twitchers heaven
R. A.
Lovely country park with nice trails and good childrens playground. We visited on August bank holiday on a very nice day (weather wise) so it was obviously very busy. Parking is reasonable at £5 for the full day and less if you visit for less than 4 hours.
D.
Great place for all the family. Dog friendly cafe, lovely country walk.
S. U.
We enjoyed the day! Can you have adventure time or relax…,we have both.
D. H.
Negative windchill today, but still beautiful walk, good to see herons, wild rabbits and occasionally deer.
D. P.
Beautiful place to spend a day, adventure acctivities are nicely blend with nature.
F. R.
Lovely place for families to walk, enjoy with young children too. Many were there with dogs and nice to see them on lead which made it fun for all. The flowers are nicely kept too. Parking however was not clear as we paid before leaving no card or number plate needed and no gates at exit so not sure if payment was needed or not.
y. v.
Great walks with the toddler. Good value for money carpark. Not to busy but that was a week day. Lovely safe play area
E. R.
Beautiful park!
Very looked after.
M. N.
Great park however parking is pricey if you can get parked this lets the park down as it is a bit of a pain if you have the grandkids in tow and you get turned away due to no parking. Other than this the park is worth a visit and the walks are well laid out as for coombe abey I have never been in it so cannot comment.
K. M.
It's nice place to day out with family.
s. r.
Been here few times so lose 1 star because no bbq now and another star for parking charge rate.
S. W.
Enjoyed a lovely stroll around the Luminate trail.
J. M.
A Great day out for all ages. Lots to do and see. Loads of picnic benches and secluded seating. Great for Lots of outdoor activities and Go ape is fantastic with fun zip wires and lots of tree top climbing adventure features . Walking trails and cycle paths, a great little funfair and kiddies play areas.
M. I.
It’s a good place to spend time. However, sometimes on weekends, you may not be allowed to enter because the car park is already full.
B.
Amazing area to spend time with family. A lot of things to do. Playing areas for kids, barbecue and a huge car park. Lovely forest paths.
M. F.
The park itself is beautiful, it really is. But the car park and facilities are woefully inadequate. The car park despite being barrier controlled seems to have no idea the car park is full and continues to let cars in causing mayhem.
The cafe at the visitors centre is no where near adequate for somewhere so busy, especially as they only have one person serving. The queue was over 30 minutes and then items were sold out.
The kiosk cafe was closed, so we're the toilets there despite them displaying opening times that day.
Beautiful place, hopeless management.
L. L.
I always love going here on Sundays with the family!! I love the little dog friendly restaurant there plus if you want to go there as a day trip its perfect for the family or their pet!!
B. C.
They hosted a huge gathering of Citroens. Nice cars, nice owners and nice surroundings
M. J. P.
Beautiful park and wooded area. Fantastic area to go for a walk
G. K.
Great little walk around. Havnt seen Go Ape yet and will deffinitly have to try one day.
G. J.
I am now a local to the area and visit here on a regular basis. The park is more than you could ask for, for your weekend stroll or dog walk. I have since brought several members of family and friends to have a wander, incluing my 4yr old neice who loves the ducks! That hoise itself is historically faultless and definitely worth a wander around.
A. P.
Very nice picturesque park. Lovely walks. Cafe , and artisan Market at entrance. Most enjoyable, even on a soaking wet day like today.
K. I.
Been lucky enough to enjoy the trail of lights tonight Wednesday.Just by chance came the night before official opening. The lights were amazing and varied all along the trail. They had a maze you can walk through made of lights.Stepping stones that light up when you stand on them.Plenty of very friendly staff at various points along the way.The snack bar was open and I had marshmallow on a stick( 2pounds)but you can toast ithem on an open fire.taste so good.Had 4 year old granddaughter with us and she loved it all
N. B.
Our first visit and we loved it. Very busy and kiddy friendly nearer the visitor area and play areas, but didn't see a grumpy face all day. We could walk far enough into the woods to completely break away from the crowds and have a private picnic. The £3 to park was definitely slow for money, and we'll be back, soon.
K. P.
Park was beautiful but the cafe staff were not very friendly, they slapped the sandwich together and slammed the plate on the table no smile or a thank you. Very rude staff... Like I said the park is lovely
R. b.
Very nice place for a day out. There are three 2+ mile walking routes. Car park with reasonable rate with cashless payment option.
B. m. m. S.
Great park nice to walk around has a park cafe shop
C. J.
lovely walks, ideal for a picnic..lovely place for a drink afterwards
J. G.
Had a fab day here would recommend this park highly , if I was you I'd take a picnic because cafe prices were high
V. S.
Beautiful park. Pay attention at the parking lot when it's full, you might end up paying the fee twice, as the person before you might scan the code and not pay the fee, waiting in their car that you pay for them.
Y. C.
Lovely walks, scenery and wildlife. We'll worth a look
M. C.
I had a brilliant time at the Medieval Banquet. They catered for dietary requirements such as vegan and vegetarian food and it was delicious. The entertainment was brilliant and had everyone laughing. The only negative was the drinks were very expensive.
M. R.
It's sad to see coombe lake in such a terrible condition I used 2 fish there 50yrs ago and it was awesome. People would travel miles to fish it but not any more ,its covered in weed with a few weed free areas. Approximately 30 years ago anglers suggested that it was in need of dredging but what did we know it's ok we was told .I have been told that bales of hay (I think) have been put in to reduce the weed (apparently the reaction kills the weed) also I see that they are getting on a boat to cut back the weed .which will not solve the problem!!! Yet again the people in charge are avoiding the problem and that is so disappointing. Well I've been back and fished it apparently the weed had gone ???but to be fair I caught 4 BIG BREAM and missed a few so hopefully the weed problem has reduced and fishing can be restored
R. G.
Great place to have a family day out, good facilities and always something to do. Great for a walk and loads to do for the kids. Go Ape is brilliant family fun but quite pricey for what it is and how long it takes to complete the activities.
C. L.
Great place to come for a leisurely walk, lovely grounds and wooded areas to explore. Kids love it for adventure, climbing ropes, play park, bouncy castle and ice creams.
Go Ape is a new addition but in good weather booking is essential or will be sold out. Huge picnic area in the sun but some shady areas for the little ones.
J. V.
Lucky enough to visit on a warm day. Lovely views all round. The children loved the river with the ducks and swans. Chips were cooked to perfection. Great place for plenty of fresh air, long walks and picnics. Was exhausted and worn out all round with the day out... children enjoyed the park area afterwards to use up that excess of energy they had left.
The covid testing area at the entrance is quite off putting... not a place o would recommend for a beautiful setting this place is... maybe find a more secluded area.... especially as some may have covid and be the reason for testing and so close to the main entrance.
C. P.
Beautiful grounds & walks & plenty of things to do.
S. M.
Love this hotel which is unique and definitely has the wow factor. Wouldn't suit anyone who likes modern as it has feature rooms with 4 poster beds and its rooms are dark and dimly lit but this is what the hotel is about and it is a one off. Lovely conservatory restaurant and dinner was delicious though breakfast wasn't as good. Food not topped up and eggs were cold.Possibly not enough staff.
A. B.
Nice.
J. W.
Great place to visit on the outskirts of Coventry and do plenty of activities or to just relax.
L. H.
Came to the Artisan Market.. really enjoyed it, lovely weather, great stalls and friendly people.
Will be attending again
C. M.
Cheap parking. Disabled access. Picnic site or on site cafes and ice cream huts. Great walks for different abilities, bikes, walking and wheelchairs. Beautiful scenery with lakes, ponds and Woodlands. Good day out with Social distancing easily achievable.
O. A.
Park is absolutely beautiful. If you want to take pictures I suggest going there bc the scenery is stunning. I love how peaceful it is on a quiet weekday term time morning. There’s usually not many people there at that time. Especially during colder seasons. There’s so much nature and woodlands, a nice lake which you can walk past and ducks to feed. a big opening to sit for a picnic, benches and the bathrooms when I went were relatively clean. There was also an icecream van.
m. f.
Brilliant place to visit, most facilities are open now. And with the go ape course now, a great day out.
A. F. C.
Just the best place for a walk a picnic and just for getting healthy
J. S.
Beautiful place for a special occasion.
Unfortunately the service was very slow with some of the 18 family members finishing their food before others even got theirs.
p. a.
Beautiful place..just check the weather first as there's little cover
c. b.
Nice place for a day out there is a cafe for snacks
W. E.
Nice family afternoon out, enjoyed walking the grounds.
J. C.
Great place to meet up with family and friends. Decent length walk, kids play areas, and picnic benches. Cafe is a bit disorganised and service took ages plenty of parking reasonably priced.
L. I.
If you haven't been to coombe abbey before you simply must it is a stunning example of a beautiful abbey surrounded by beautiful grounds. Makes for stunning backdrops for images
C. L.
Amazing venue. Plenty for the whole family
E. T.
We always enjoy the park at Coombe but went to see their Santa's grotto yesterday which we enjoyed a lot! Fun crafts with the elves and then Santa was really lovely to my boys!
D. L.
Lovely place to visit. Beautiful day out.
N. K.
It's ok. Plenty of parking but not enough apertures for the children play area. Kids have to wait to long when busy. We had a picnic and found it difficult to find a spot to sit. Grounds are great.
T. P. J. (.
Beautiful park and great Halloween trail for the kids.
S. M.
Love this park! Amazing visit as usual!
S. F.
Nice place to take in a walk and a picnic with the family
B. F. A. C.
Great park for a stroll with the baby.
R. G.
Loads of space and excellent walks. Scooter, dog and cycle friendly. Great for family picnics. Cafe and did outlets available. See website fit special events throughout year.
G. B.
Wonderful place to visit, excellent savoury and sweet afternoon tea; would highly recommend.
r. p.
I love this place, gorgeous grounds, let's the kids imagination run wild
A. A.
Lovely place for families with kids, nice for walking dogs as well.
D. J.
Great place for family walks and also perfect for a morning of photography
C. J.
Love Coombe, they have "recently" also redone some of their paths (can only confirm the paths we have been on) so this makes it a great place for everyone to visit. Beautiful and with great facilities. Something for everyone, 2 legs or 4.
D. T.
This place is amazing. We had a family day out here & took a picnic with us. Plenty of space to tire the little ones out & easy for a pram too. I can't wait to go back.
I. E.
Great walks with family, busy, but go in the woods and it is amazing how quiet it gets.
G. L.
Lovely park and plenty of seating around the walks. Car parking nice and big with reasonable price with contactless pay on the way out. Really yummy ice creams :-)
V. K.
Great place to take young children and big kids. The park is fun and it extends to accommodate older activities. The trees here are worth walking around so many red woods to look at. The lake has ducks, swans and gulls to feed if you care to. Apple car parking with ticket you pay at end of your stay. Will visit again. There is an abbey however was happy to walk around the landscape. There is a small kiosk sells sweets, cones of Fry's and sandwiches. Also hot or cold drinks. There are tables in and around parkland.
C. B.
Held the Citroen 100yrs of manufacturing celebration's there. Beautiful house and grounds.
A. N.
Great place for the family to visit any time of the year.
P. B.
Get out there and get some fresh air!
R. B.
Never been before and was pleasantly surprised. Vast areas of the park open and people taking blankets and picnics. Used to be able to take BBQ but no more, so be warned. Go Ape looked amazing for kids and adults alike for taking to the trees on a harness and wire with great zip wire slide too. Cafe open with just and shop but all great and well organised in these times. Hotel looks amazing, a must stay, if you can afford it. Thoroughly recommend the park and walks.
c. m.
Went into cafe for coffee dogs allowed and sell dog ice cream.
S. W. (.
Some areas are beautiful others are in need of a desperate tidy and clean. The bird pond and Brooke nearby are particularly disgusting.
A.
Lovely day out, the goape is a nice new addition, the grounds are lovely, and there are a lot of wildlife, only drawback is that the rolls Royce factory is noisy sometimes, disturbing the peace of the edge of the park.
S. H.
Beautiful place
J. H.
Pukka place to walk your dog mega early its quiet etc etc
h. o. l.
Probably the best park in the Coventry area. With Go Apes, lots of footpaths in the forest, visitor's centre and really cool play ground for the kids, there's plenty to do for every age group. BBQs are not allowed anymore but perhaps it's for the best.
H. L.
First time visiting and had a lovely walk through the woods. A good solid path, but still very muddy in places so be prepared!
p. D.
It was a lovely tea party ( my birthday)🥰
J. M.
Far side of the meadow found some lovely patches of snowdrops. Xx
K. B.
Beautiful place. Has a host of cafes and toilets. Go Ape is also situated here along with a host of duck ponds for the kids. Nice wooded walks along with very large flat open grass areas for playing with family and friends. A nice day out for the family. Be aware the car park isn't free, but you can pay via contactless with your card.
A. R.
Nice area for a walk with lots of woods, the abbey itself and now there's a tree top adventure place as well so it's nicely developed. Good place for a picnic but no BBQs allowed.
G. V.
I love the park! It is huge, lots of paths to walk on, there is a cafe selling all the ice cream and other naughty snacks you might want and they have toilets. Ducks, swans and other birds on the little like in front of the pretty hotel. I cycled there on a quiet Saturday morning while my husband did a long run. Plenty of tables and benches for a picnic or you can just bring a blanket and sit on the grass
R. W.
One of my favourite venues to capture beautiful weddings, certainly one of the grandest. See my website for more.
A. A.
A place of real beauty, ideal for picnics, medieval banquets held her and great place for wedding receptions
J. W.
Good safe walking, good for dogs.
Needs a indoor cafe .
d. e.
Lovely place to visit, young or old.
A. S.
Nice country park. Can be very busy at weekends, visit during the week for maximum enjoyment and relaxation.. There's a wide range of children's activities available and a GO Ape centre for the Bigger Children. Coffee shop to get warm drinks and a the Abbey it's self is a luxury hotel with beautiful architecture.
J. M.
Great place to stretch your legs, chill and wonder around. Good for kids to burn off a load of energy. Clean, easy to get to and cheap parking.
M. H.
Great for walks with and without dogs,
I. S.
A lovely scenic country park. There its of room for kids to play, and for families to walk around to explore. They also have a Go Ape here so you can book your places to do some climbing, and zip line fun!
S. M.
Beautiful park with scenic views. Lovely play area for kids. Have been going to this park for 10 years now.
During term times, there are bouncy castles and slides for the kids.
Nice cafe with minimal items on the menu.
There a lovely pond with ducks, goose and swans.
Climbing area for bigger kids too inside the park.
A. S.
We do enjoy the park but as it is a little out of the way we have only been a couple of times since the first lockdown. We always came to do some lovely relaxing pottery painting at the Crafty Cat, then a walk around the grounds and a hot drink or ice cream. So we were so pleased that the Crafty Cat reopened today. It's such a business genious for Coombe Abby as you have to come back to collect your fired wears! And indeed it kept us coming back pre- pandemic and looking forward to many visits now it has reopened!
The 4 star is because the parking is getting too much now and the Cafe is expensive. Near Costa prices for a machine coffee is just plain greedy Coomby Abby and prices out many. Country parks are for all to enjoy and benefit from, not just the well off.
Hope that next time the wood work studio is open as well as the Crafty Cat. Bring such crafts to the experience makes this a place to go despite the pricey parking and cafe.
I. M.
Beautiful outdoor space. Lots of trails of varying lengths for all ages to walk or cycle; plenty of space to run around and things to do in the woods; a nice playground and a cafe (which we didn't try). Parking was easy and reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning
J. S.
My experience here was like a dream trip walking over 21000 steps and not feeling it with the pleasure of my partner who’s idea was to come here I like to thank her for this as she’s got great ideas
N. P.
Great outdoor space for adults and kids. Wheelchair access available. Go Ape facilities, however I personally haven't used this myself - looks fun, though. Easy to navigate a pushchair around. The café remains open throughout Covid but the little souvenir shop is closed. Ice cream, donuts and hot drinks available. Card payments only
J. D. A.
Very pretty to have a wander around. We arrived as there was a fun fair on, making it extremely busy. We had a lovely hour or so there. Only has one parking machine that accepts cash, all the rest are card only.
K. r.
Lovely walks, beautiful grounds. Lots of space, plenty of parking. Great cafe, nice clean toilets! Kids especially loved buying bird food and feeding the ducks, swans, geese and pigeons!
R. M.
New Park is brilliant and such good fun for kids.
J. C.
Always have a lovely day out here, beautiful place.
I. B.
Beautiful building in glorious surroundings.
M. L.
Although there were a lot of people and initially you had to walk through quite a crowded area, once past that the expanse of Coombe was enough to make a long walk quite secluded. We hadn't been there for a while, so did not know that "go ape" was there. It looked very impressive and everyone who had booked for it seemed to be having a fantastic time, we enjoyed watching their antics from the safety of the ground! Don't think I would be brave enough to try it, but it looked great fun
c. b.
Plenty of parking and nice walks. Play area for younger children.
Had picnic in Nice setting. Shop open for drinks, snacks and ices.
T. L.
Lovely park with play areas suitable for a wide range of age groups. Lots of space to walk and signposted trails to follow if you want. Great for dogs, jogging, and cycling alike. Easily accessible and quite cheap parking. Nice visitors centre. Toilets in a couple of places around the park.
G. C.
Lovely place for a walk ✨
D. S.
Stunning place. Full of character and a great ambience. The service was impeccable. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've been in and the food was delicious.
J. w.
Good day out with the family but wasn't too sure about the prism of mushrooms or the multidimensional timewarp of avian wildlife.
A. V. (.
Big park, lot of space, but in COVID time is little boring, because all attractions are closed.
W. a. C.
Lovely place to relax and take a nature walk.
M. C.
Loved it, something for all ages
J. D.
We had afternoon tea in the conservatory which was very enjoyable
E. K.
Our first trip out after lockdown. Big open spaces, green fields and fresh air.
Very clean and well maintained with reasonable parking prices. Lovely stuff!

Great for walks and adventures, days out or just a quick visit
S. P.
Nice short country walk 👍 dog friendly

AMAZING place to go for a stroll or long walk or bike ride with the family! There's quite a few to do, play park for kids near the shop/cafe area, and other places to play as you go into the woody area. Quite often busy but well worth going. We've always gone in spring, autumn time, lovely place for a lovely day out!

Accessibility - ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ambiance - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Cost - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Accessibility - Although one might not be able to access all of the trails in the forest, a good percentage of its parklands has manicured pathways, and many of them are concrete even. Be aware some areas have dirt or loose rock paths. There are also disabled bays in the parking lot areas.
Cost - Free! (There is a charge if you do park your car in the parking lot, but the actual parklands are free.)
Tip - A romantic opportunity to take a walk through the woods or manicured gardens with a loved one on a budget.

One of the two best and beautiful parks in Coventry to spend nice by yourself or with friends or family. It's well looked after and a nice getaway in the city. Has open areas but also a forest type area, nice for a reflective stroll or cycle.
M. T.
Great place for a walk
D. C.
A beautiful setting to spend a afternoon at.
G. T.
Always a good place to go nice walk around the woods,

Very nice place for a family outing.

First visit. Go Ape was great - such friendly & enthusiastic staff. Cafe had good affordable food with fairly quick service. Parking charge reasonable. Rained PM so couldn't explore further but trails look great for walking, running, cycling, scooting. Looking forward to returning to explore!
R. P.
I love it here. So beautiful. It can get very busy in school holidays and on weekends though. The parking isn't cheap but the park is huge and the facilities are decent. Great for bird watching as there's a hide, as well as the play park for young children and the higher one for older ones. There is a GoApe set up starting here soon, plus a cafe, shop, visitors centre, ice cream van and two lots of toilets. 2 lakes, formal and informal gardens, a myriad of trees, plants and wildlife and you might even see a grass snake if you're lucky. Enjoy!
C. B.
Lovely grounds! Beautiful place to go on a summers day with the family. Take a picnic and a football and enjoy the outdoors. The woodland area is great to see the wildlife. I was even allowed to let my guide dog off the lead for a run in the long grass, which he loves. Amazing day out!
W. S.
No visible management. Many errors made but the property and grounds look good from the outside. Managed to get my bill from£126 for extras to the £75 I actually had. Maybe they should check the room cards of the people ordering the food and drinks rather than taking a person's word for it. BTW no one objected to all 8 people queuing to check in with no masks on. Glad to get back to civilised Worcestershire.
T. I.
Great day out or just to pass an hour or two. Plenty of fun to be had on the playground or the woodland play area or just going for a walk through the trees or feeding the ducks. Cafe with reasonable prices, and just around £3.50 for a days parking.
C. D.
Aah, this is a genuinely lovely, peaceful, quiet and serene place to visit if you ever want to unwind and relax and enjoy nature sounds and smells and reconnect with mother nature. 🌲🍃🌳🌞🏞️😎😋😊
S. N.
Great place to go and have a lovely walk also great spaces for children to run. There are 2 play areas here aswell. I never get bored of going here.
J. D.
A magnificent park with plenty to do for a young family. My kids loved the climbing forest and the freedom to explore the vast open areas. Logs to climb and dens to build make this a venue at which we will be spending many long, happy days.
R. H.
One of the best park in Coventry to spend time with your family. The amazing part of this park is the designated BBQ area. You can do BBQ with a large number of people. There is a massive parking area which can be paid at the end of your visit. After 10 mins walk inside the park you will find nice place to sit down and lake to take pictures.
L.
Visited at around 10:30am and the park had some activity with people visiting. The new Go Ape site is looking good but you can see the visible impact it's had on the surrounding woodland.
Me and my partner walked around the park and actually encountered some rabbits and a fox, which was a pleasant surprise! Also spent time in the bird hide which seems to have quite an abundance of small birds and mice again.
Overall an enjoyable place to take a stroll in the earlier hours but if you want to encounter wildlife I would recommend visiting before lunchtime when lots of families tend to start arriving.
D. R.
Brilliant country park with something for all ages. You have children parks and now Go Ape, but also have beautiful varied walks for dog walkers and a true paradise for the bird watchers and naturalist. Once you have enjoyed the play area or country walks there is a cafe that does snacks or hot food with a licensed pub up stairs in case you want a refreshing beverage. Coombe also has a craft shop, visitor centre and regularly put on special events during bank holidays or school holidays. Excellent place for all
A. H.
Love this park, great for children of all ages as it has something for everyone. Also has really nice walking trails and recently a go ape facility has been launched which looks exciting. Can get a little busy in the summer however that just shows how popular the place is. Beautiful views of the abbey by the water. And please people don't feed the ducks I know it's cute but it's like giving junck food to a child they may lick there fingers and give you a nice smile but it's not doing wonders for their insides.
M. S.
Great day out, we walked all the way round the lake
C. J. A.
Great place for children and young families to have some good family time for just price of parking there facilities and ice cream parlours around the park there also some awesome fun for the older children with some high tree top zip lines overall good place for families to enjoy life together
C. L. (. L.
We often visit Coombe Abbey it is just such a lovely park. There is lots to do for all ages and an abundance of wildlife. There are two main parks one for younger children and one for teenagers. There is a cafe and shop and at weekends the parking is usually £3 per car which for a family is a great day out. Lots of seating for picnics and lots of different walks.
D.
Nice walks, some parts the dogs have to be on the lead and other places they can be let off. Some dog walkers adhere to this others don't, maybe because it's not so clear where you can. Car parking isn't free, I think for the first 2 hours it could be free like Abbey Fields or just be cheaper.
N. D.
Stopped briefly for a family gathering. Good car park, easy to pay. Toilets, a play park and lots of walks. I think we only saw a bit, so will definitely be back.
J. Z.
Perfect for a late autumn walk. Cafe a bit basic - drinks are serve yourself from a machine. Park itself has a lot of 'dogs must be on leads' areas so as I have a dog I avoided those as she likes to run free. Well maintained public areas and of course the hotel is fab - looks very spooky!
C. B.
Playpark for kids .Hotel and gardens .Toilets open now and cafe. Ducks geese and swans on pools
s.
Perfect day out! Irrelevant of age this is a lovely place to visit. Wether you're young, old,in a group, with the kids or have the dogs there's plenty of options and plenty of choice. there's meadows, woods, play area, cafés, stunning scenery, water and history all rolled into one. We will be back.. that is for sure!
S. J.
Beautiful place
A. P.
Had a excellent time... Went for lunch.. value for money in the cafe.. then we went for a walk.. then headed back for scones and lattes!!!!! Great afternoon.. recommend too anyone.. 5 🌟!!!!!!!!
T. D.
A great place for a stroll, play on the park or picnic
A.
Considering we are in lockdown, ud never have thought it this afternoon at coombe abbey. There were hundreds of people there, and the carpark was full. It was a nice afternoon, and it was nice walking round the grounds. The only downside was the cafe. The food was nice enough, but way to expensive. Very poor value for money, and I wont use it again. Next time I'll take my own.
A. T.
Great place to bring children. My two pre-school children love the playground and seeing the water birds, and always end up managing to pester me for an ice cream too somehow.
The only problem with this place is that the car park is nowhere near big enough at peak times. On busy days, there's often a huge queue waiting to enter the car park.
M. b.
beautiful place
P. K.
Nice place to go with kids. Very big and spacious should go early in the morning and spend your whole day this is what we have done . My daughter love to go coombe park
Y. P.
Amazing place to visit for a day out! With kids or just adults 😊 loved it. It's so peaceful in the evenings too ☺
m. g.
A beautiful place that’s perfect to introduce little ones to nature and local history.
P. B.
Lots of open spaces to walk around, plenty of parking, cafe and toilets.
G. S.
A lovely open space. They’re happy for you to have your own BBQs so long as you’re safe with them and all rubbish is cleared.
It has toilet facilities and in the summer there is an Ice cream van as well as the cafe and other things.
It’s a great place to go in the summer.
B. D.
So much for exploring!!!you have to go there
M. U.
One of the places we visit regularly for summer as a family but because of lockdown the public toilets and play area were unavailable and bbq was prohibited, unfortunately. Its a beautiful scenic park with good play area and a water canal.
M. B. R.
Nice place...good for relaxing
G. S.
Gets a bit busy at the 'obvious' times like Sunday afternoons and Bank Holidays but the ice cream is to die for. Parking £3 for up to three hours. BBQs aren't allowed.
K. P.
Wonderful wooded walks.
Lots of wild foul to see....annoying that a lot of people were ignoring the do not feed them bread signs :(
GoApe looks amazing and we will have to go back and try it out sometimes.
Maximum for parking is currently £5 for all day (over 4hrs)
P. R.
Went for nice walk around the grounds the route we chose was just over 2 mile along the side of the lake up to the heron reserve and back along the path through the woods quite nice with a dusting of snow
A. R.
Stunningly beautiful but it's very popular parking your car can be an issue. Very popular so it can get rather busy be aware if you're thinking of grabbing some peace and quiet it may be too busy for that.
J. B.
Absolutely great place for picnic long nice walk with kids dogs etc. Hot food breakfast lunch. Playground for younger older kids. If you not scare of highest can go on rope park for younger and older kids adults. It's fantastic place to all day go out recommend.
J. J.
Lovely place. They only charge for parking.
D. W.
A delightful park which really comes into its own when the sun is shining.
With a visitor centre, shop, activity centre & restaurant. There's great facilities to take advantage of.
The park offers a variety of walks of varying lengths, and the views of the House from the waterfront, are picture postcard ready.
S. Y. S.
Really nice. Relax highly recommended
A. R.
Lovely park to visit with the kids. Fair was on when we visited which was great fun. Generally the grounds are kept very clean. Parking is reasonably priced. There is also a GoApe there which is very fun.
L.
Beautiful park and well maintained. Its worth checking out the activities during the kids school holidays (mainly summer). We went to a fishing for beginners morning and had so much fun. They have experienced staff supervising and loaning out the equipment so you dont have the headache of buying everything.
W. P.
Lovely natural woodland and park for walking dog and great walks.
A. N.
Beautiful place. Great for long walks. Different activities to enjoy. I enjoyed my visit and would strongly recommend it if you haven't been.
M. M.
It is absolutely stunning. So picturesque. Loads to do. Good food or place to do your own picnic. My si loves it there. Plenty of parking too.
M. P.
Wonderful place to walk and do recreation activities
S. W.
What a lovely afternoon, beautiful surroundings the cream tea was well presented, the bread was fresh and the fillings were varied the cakes and scones melted in your mouth. The service was perfect staff were polite friendly and very smart thank you all for a lovely relaxed afternoon.
I. R.
Great walks nice cafe also go ape there
F. R.
Great place! Visited on a super hot day and couldn't have had a nicer time. £3 to park all day with good facilities. Lots of places to picnic/bbq and kick a football about too. Great family and couples day out.
M. S.
This is a great place for walking, playground for the kids and Go Ape tree trail for older children. Car parking reasonable at 2.50.
b. k.
Best place in coventry for family time.
M. D.
Lovely to walk around most of it but in my opinion its being destroyed by the go ape park they are setting up in it which is very expensive also in my opinion. Starting at £18 for the basic layout. They have shut off the park across the wooden bridge as u cross the dam which lead to the bird hut. Has some lovely memories of the park as I proposed to my wife there. Luckily that part of the park will stay there but it's going downhill.
K. H.
Amazing park to go out with family and friends, good place for BBQ as well although not allowed at the moment due to Corona. Parking is £2-£5 per day depending on whether you get discount.
D. M.
Love the place, little pricey on the food but has forests to walk around and great park for kids to play on
S. S.
A lovely place to spend the afternoon with the family. Great play area, lots of open space and good facilities.
A. D.
Such a great place to have a good walk
w. p.
Great Park space close to Cov city centre. Free admission but parking is charged at £3 per day. Great for children and adults alike.
g. g.
Lovely walk lovely sites
A. S.
The park grounds are good for walking round all year round. Lots children to do too. If they could sort out the car park charges then it would be a 5 star review.
S. M.
Great place for family walks. Cafe is closed at moment for refurbishment. Car parking is charged at £1 per hour to a maximum of £5.
Hard paths which are suitable for buggies but when wet a mobility scooter would struggle in places.
N. T.
Park was nice, not too many people or rubbish. Car park is a nightmare only one machine working so had to queue for over 30 minutes to pay to get out. Terrible.
C. N.
Such a beautiful path with so much to do.
They have a great little cafe, a bird watching hide, a lake, and my nephew went to go ape on Sunday. Not sure how often its on, but he loved it.
W. H.
Lovely place for a good walk. Suitable for families too. Have been going here since I was younger and never get bored of the place.
S. E.
Very nice park the down fall is the cafe it's card only there are not thinking of the people who don't have a Contactless card Some people have a standard Bank card where is just a hole in the wall card Not a contactless
S. B.
Love this park!
Bring your own oats to feed the ducks. Play ground, cafes and more attractions.
L. G. (.
Always one of the best parks to go to. £3 car park is worth paying to go and have a long enjoyable work with family. Feeding the ducks (£1 food at the shop) and then a great walk through the woods. Here's hoping Go Ape will give even more value to Coombe Park.
R. P.
As always they keep the park in lovely condition. We like it here as not too taxing pushing Mum's wheelchair round. One complaint, maybe I missed something but it does say Disabled Blue Badge holders can park all day for £2 but couldn't see where to advise the pay machine.
S. W.
Coombe is a nice place to go to walk the dog or just a family day out. Lots to explore and do for all members of the family. Grounds are lovely. Car parking is not to expensive either.
K. M.
There's a bit of everything here. .Woodland, lakes, good play area for children. And! a new addition that I know my grandson will love. Go Ape, for those that love to climb.
A. B.
Very nice park.
M. C.
Went to the medieval banquet and stayed over. Arrived and reception was busy, maximum of two people can work at the counter at one time, so took too long to check in. Room not in the main house, had to walk 100m to a separate building, not ideal, but room was nice, shower and bath on a mezzanine floor. Bed was excellent and slept very well and no noise. Banquet was basic but fun, the entertainment staff were great, the table wine was awful and needs to be reviewed or buy it from the bar. The “out of the room” by 10:30 on a weekend is not great, the morning just felt a little rushed. Would I go again, to hotel yes, Banquet, no but thats because I have now been twice.
A. E.
A wonderful day out for families in beautiful surroundings. A safe adventure playground for ages 1+ years. Good, reasonably priced food in the cafe. Highly recommended!
C. D.
Great walk round last week, weather was good. Everyone self distancing. .coffee shop not open but half way round little kiosk was open. ..icecream to go. Drinks to go all practicing social distancing. ..yeah really good
J. A.
Loads of stuff to do for a family day out... If your wallet's big enough. Go ape arriving has spoiled a lovely area of the park and turned the land into a profit oriented place instead of a beautiful wildlife park full of animals from Muntjac deer to Herons. Thankfully due to lockdown this place is currently closed and you can see the wildlife again if you're quiet.
I have no problem with places like go ape, but to build it in an SSI seems a bit ridiculous.
C. V.
The park was very nice. Good walking though the trees.
We had cream tea at the Abbey Hotel. Two scones with the cream tea fine, but only one with the Monks Savoury tea. Tried to get another one but they refused. Disappointing as I had loads of cheese to eat alone. Also the menu advertises loose leaf tea which come in a tea bag. £14.95 is a lot for one scone.
C. R.
I've been coming here since I was a kid. Plenty of parking, plenty of open green space to let the kids loose, cafe is being refurbished so they have a hot food van on site for drinks and burgers etc. Morris dancers were there, they have some new parking machines so can now take card payments, £5 for up to 24 hours. Can't fault it!
T. I.
What a nice walk after so long stuck at home on my own like many, many others. Coombe looked as it has on so many visits clean and tidy due to the work of the park rangers.
J. C.
A really nice walk in the woods. The walking route isn't massive, but it's very peaceful and scenic, along with the beautiful backdrop of the hotel. Perfect for killing an hour or two with some fresh air.
A. G.
Nice place for a walk, lovely surroundings and a playground for the kids. Unfortunately the day we went there were LOTS if wasps near the playground as it was next to picnic tables (so we moved on as they were bothering everyone) but I don't expect that would be the norm. There is a pond with swans/geese/ducks, a house with landscaped gardens, so lots of places for nice photos. There were also people providing pony rides and a company that had set up inflatable slides, etc... Overall a very nice place to spend the day.
A. D.
Beautiful country park where you feel close to nature. Parking is not free. And I couldn’t find any toilets or cafe. As it was closed because of COVID.
A. B.
Brilliant place to take a walk in the woods. Absolutely funtastic place for the whole family. Huge expanses of green where you can sit and have a picnic or play any sport.
L. B.
Busy at weekends. Arrive early to get parked. Good playground; area to feed the ducks; cafe and go-ape activities for older kids. If good weather plenty of areas to picnic.
C. G.
Always a lovely place to walk. Affordable car park too which is now cashless since covid.
r. b.
Great day out for all the family plenty of space for the kids to run around. Beautiful scenery and walks. A great play park. Take a picnic or Bbq and you will have a great cheap day out.
D. D.
Very good
S. D. M.
A stunning country house and park, paved trails wind through open fields and the woodland walk provides fantastic views of the lake. There's a BBQ area, while kids and adults alike can play on obstacles built around the grounds.
A. G.
Lovely place with plenty for the family to come and do! From bird watching areas to the new 'Go Ape' facilities, Coombe abbey caters to a host of age groups and hobbyists, it also serves as a nice place to just come out for a walk or take the dog for a stroll!
In terms of access it's easy to get too right off the A47 and A5, the place is disability friendly with no steps at all, I can't speak for the hotel however the park itself is very open with paths wheelchairs can easily get down! The visitors centre is a little outdated now however the hub does boast a lovely little cafe and gift shop for the kids to enjoy!
Whether you want to come and have a bbq (not disposable though remember!) Or have an enjoyable day out with the family you'll love it! Plenty of pubs down the road too in case you don't want to eat at the abbey so it has a nice central location.
All in all a lovely place however I would suggest perhaps updating the visitors hub and giving it a 'modernization' if you will; to keep up with the increase in visitors numbers and add to the experience further!
A. G.
Great fun at goapp and kids park
N. B.
Nice walk, good gardens, dog friendly cafe and the cashless parking that let's you pay for just 1 hour (if you only need that) is nice to see.
S. C.
A great day out, lots of people barbecuing, picnicking and enjoying what is a wonderfully kept ground, the Abbey itself is now a hotel but there is a cafe on site. It is all accessible with prams/wheelchairs great play areas sometimes donkey rides usually an ice cream van, the different landscapes provide good walks through the grounds. If the weather is right this is a great day out.
T. S.
Great place for a walk with family. Ideal for young children on bikes. Lots of parks to entertain them as well as woodland exploring.
K. D.
Great park, lovely walking areas, beautiful house. Just watched Bohemian Rhapsody on the out door screen, absolutely brilliant!
A. B.
Lovely day. Lots of kids now they have go ape there but it does not interfere with the walk and coombe Abbey itself. So so suprised there was no bins . We walked around for quite some time with a cup that had ice cream in it and no where to put it until we reached another eating area with toilets .
S. G.
Great day out in the countryside. Several well laid out and easy to follow routes around the park provide great views of the local area. Great amenities and the birdwatching hide is a great spot to stop off got a while
J. C.
A great place to take your dog for a walk during the week. To be avoided at the weekend because nobody who goes there seems to understand the concept of social distancing, even after four months practice.
C. S.
Amazing place, arrive early it does get busy. Lovely walks in beautiful scenery. Very clean considering the sheer amount of people who visit on a daily basis. The staff are certainly on thier "A game"
l. m.
Parking prices were ok and spaces were spacious, the grounds have beautiful scenary and lots orlf diffferent routes you can take for a long peaceful walk.
M. R.
Lovely place on our doorstep to pop for a walk & some lunch. Even more to do now GoApe has arrived. Car Parking doesn't cost a bomb either. Would recommend!
A. S.
Beautiful surroundings great on a warm Autumn day. Car park £3, great for families with kids under 14. Not fantastic sign posting around site but great to explore and for cycling
M. P.
Nice and quiet place perfect for kids to explore.
B. A.
A stunning location for a great day out. We were there for the Citroen Centenary events and it was the ideal location with ideal weather. We couldn't believe the fee was only £3 for day visitors per car. A bargain in my eye.
R. M.
Lovely place to go for a walk, even though the car park was packed there was still plenty of space once you got out into the park
E. B.
A lovely place to visit and riam around the woods and gardens. There are zip lines added to hav a go on for the enthusiast. Plenty of picnic areas and also a sealed area for the small children to play on swings, slides climbing frames.
A. C.
The park is lovely, the cafe is terrible, dried up cake, then tried to get tea with scones eurgh at least jam and maybe cream, don't do jam and only margarine available. Nobody cleaned up outside tables so had to move trays to the floor to get a table. Very badly managed. It's a pity for such a lovely park.
P. G.
Absolutely stunning place. Love sitting, listening and watching....
