Reviews of Ryton Pools Country Park
R. N.
Really lovely walk with my almost two year old. She loved the play park and loved walking freely. We took some seeds and fed the ducks which she was excited about. I highly recommend this place.
A. C.
Was a lovely walk, easy to get lost but the trials can be retraced and a new path can be taken! So was more fun then a bother! Would 100% recommend for dog walkers but there will a lot of open water routs that can be harmful to dogs so don’t let them swim or drink it!
c. l.
The miniature railway which is open on Sundays and bank holidays is a must do for kids. £1 a ride (cash only) and great people running it makes it a fun thing to do. The rest of the park is lovely, there is loads of parking, bikes for hire, playgrounds and a cafe. You do have to pay for parking but you can pay by card. It's a great day out
S. B.
Great place to take the kids and dogs. Pay and display car park, cafe on site and a big play area for the kids. We always take a picnic as plenty of places to sit and eat. Lots to explore around the pools. Great for all the family.
S. H.
Visited here in mid October to photograph fungi in Ryton Woods. Well waymarked trails and interesting walks.....plus a fantastic variety of fungi!! £4 for 4 hours parking, but could easily have spent longer here. Lots to see and do. Highly recommended.
A. W.
Dog friendly. Lots of trails off the main route. Today we went on a stroll round the figure of eight walk. Plenty of parking and the café to get some refreshments.
J. F.
Really nice place, excellent made up paths and great play grounds. You can also hire self peddle carts.
D. S.
Great time with the family, lots of parks and the bikes are worth a go, rental for 30mins for one for the kids to sit in and 3 bikes was under £20 which I think is reasonable and more than enough time, will be back to go on the model railway soon!
Update 15/04
Decided to go for another visit to Ryton Pools, with it being a bank holiday (Easter Break) it was quite busy, but not so much that the kids had to wait for anything or couldn't have a turn, we rented out 2 x carry on bikes and a ladies bike because the kids are getting bigger and they were great as usual, the seats are a bit hard so have a few breaks to take in the scenery to break it up, we had 30 mins again which is plenty time to get round a couple of routes.
The train was also working and was only £1 each and worth a go for the kids, parking was £3 for 2hrs and think that was plenty of time otherwise I think it increases to the next bracket for another pound which would be 3 -4 hrs. Will be back again when the weather is warm and bright.
S.
The foothills play area and Pirates play area are great and full of fun. Rent a bicycle for a quick park round is very nice.
M. W.
Lovely place to wall your dogs, grass and paths, children's play area, pools, cafe, you have to pay for your car parking 4 hrs £4
T. M.
Good place for walking nice cafe great play ground doggy 🐕 freidly if you want an extended walk the woods are good 👍 😀
A. S.
Took my little boy last weekend and he loved it as haven't been there for years. Easy parking and contactless parking was easy. Loads of picnic tables dotted around and play areas so plenty to see and do. Haven't given 5 star as not tried the cafe and shop as heard a lot of negative reviews. But overall very happy and going again this weekend. 👍
S. T.
Nice little walk, paths are nice and good for buggies and most for wheel chairs (depending if the weather has been very bad). The play areas are very good with a variety of things for kids to do. Plenty of wildlife and work has been done to bring more in.
A. R.
A pleasant shirt stroll probably walk was more suited to young children and those who are not keen on walking. Play area was very impressive. Toilets were well used!
B. W.
Great for walks around the lake with various routes.
Also excellent for riding bikes around with cycle hire available at certain times.
Reasonable parking charge.
There is a small cafe too and toilets along with a couple of play areas.
T. C.
The perfect place to spend a day out with your friends and family... Cycling is a must...
M. J.
I have just bought the season ticket for the car park as it works out cheaper as I use this a lot during the summer. Harriet, my UNHINGED owner takes me for my daily walk (TECHNICALLY DRAGGING ME). I don’t get to decide where I go as I am normally the one you see being dragged around the pool, chasing ducks, trying to swim and then gets freaked out by the Massive dogs in the field next door (Harriet does not know what a horse is!!)
The staff in the Information very nice and helpful. Same about the cafe. The rangers were very helpful when I needed help about parking. Great for kids too. I have taken my son up there a few times and he enjoys it (Not when he’s holding Harriet)
I ride my bike there too and it offers a few routes. I did come a cropper as I went into the local woods (Offsite from Ryton Pool) and went on a bike path that got slimmer and slimmer the further I went and when I stopped because of the stinging nettles I could not turn my bike around. I had to reverse and now I have stung ankles as I wore shorts (NOT LYCRA).
It’s quiet and has plenty of stops and I’m sure people are not aware of how big that place is.
Fully recommend it.
j. o.
This was a lovely place to walk, and we went it it was very nice and quite. There is a lovely little cafe and lots of interactive bits for kids, and a huge adventure playground. I would highly recommend to anyone.
D. “. F.
Come here quite a bit. Various lengths of walk and mixed parkland, woodland and waterside. Access to wider routes through the woods and often take my camera for the wildlife. Parking is reasonable.
h. l.
Lovely walk! Ideal for pushchairs, bikes and wheelchair users as there is a path the whole way round. Car park is £3 for up to 2 hours, or 2-4 hours is £4. There is a cafe and toilets too.
L. S.
We went for Warty's Halloween family fun night. The play areas were fab with lots for all ages. There were lots of other pirate themed thing's scattered around a lovely scenic walkthrough. The train ride was lots of fun and there was plenty of time to enjoy it as well. The event itself was so much fun. We've had Ryton Pools on our go to list for a while and will definitely be returning for a day out.
D. D.
This is a great place for a short visit. There is plenty of parking and a good cafe.
We especially like exploring Ryton Woods where you can which are quet and full of wildlife
A. H.
One of our favourite places.
The playgrounds are well maintained and the kids enjoy them, the walks are plentiful and beautiful.
Additional shaded seating would be a great addition to the place and my parenting would be easier if I didn't have to face the ice cream Van by the park but otherwise a great day out.
h. l.
Lovely park to walk around with the family, with a good play area, walk around the perimeter and lakes, toilets and cafe.
O. I.
It's a nice walk. It was pretty muddy today but most of the path alright to walk. Nice for family and there are 2 play areas for kids. The lake is nice to walk around and feed the birds. There is a miniature railway that takes people around the country park but it was not operational today.
N. S.
Lovely to walk around especially as sunny weather helps, cafe open and although car park was busy, majority of paths were not too busy
T.
Fantastic Country Park with nice walks and welcomes dogs. Has a small cafe that does sandwiches and cakes. Car parking is £3 as of Jan 2021 for all day. Would recommend a visit, is open during the lockdowns too
K. C.
A superb facility for Dog walkers... or just walking in general. Lots of play areas for the younger children and eating and drinking facilities on site. Excellently maintained throughout
S. S.
Gorgeous walk, ample play areas for the children. Dog friendly and can be off lead for most of the walk. We saw swans and other wildlife. Plenty of parking (we ended up here after trying Coombe Abbey that was full). Would definitely come here first over Coombe in future. Great spot, a real gem of a find. We visited in November, during lockdown, and the cafe was still open serving hot drinks and an array of food (from a window, observing social distancing rules).
P. C. A.
Good all round park... Great for taking the kids out for a few hours or taking your dog for a nice scenic walk.
The cafe on site is a little expensive, I advise to take a picnic/snacks if you plan on staying for a longer period.
Small train ride for the kids and 2 play areas.
Plenty of wild life and ideal to jump on your bike for a nice cycle around.
A parking fee for of £3.50 for vehicles
Free entry on foot or bike.
B. A.
Great place to visit. Lovely walks, good for all year around. Miniature train was running on new years day. It has 2 parks/play areas a lovely cafe and in a shop with information centre in. Whole place is looked after well, toilets in good condition. We'll definitely be going back again in the spring and summer!
D. C.
Ryton Pools is a lovely place. We went in the evening so it was very quiet.. hardly anyone around. There were a lot of cyclists around (not on the cycle route) we had to keep moving ourselves and our dogs out of the way for them 🙄
It gets very very busy at weekends and school holiday times..too busy infact!!
But well worth a visit. There are plenty of kids play parks and a cafe and lots of picnic places.
N. T.
Really nice park for all ages and activities.
If you want to take young children on a nice walk to feed the ducks by the lake, fancy going for a quiet fish, want to walk the dogs, off road bike ride this is the place for you.
You don't have to root around in your wallet for coins to pay for parking either as you can do it online before you get there, really convenient and handy.
E. T.
The park itself was lovely and well kept. The only disappointment was that the Cycle place was shut despite the website and voice message saying it would be open. One disappointed child.
a. h.
Great place. Here’s a tip for the moaning 1-2 star reviewers on here; take your own food and drink if you want to avoid paying the cafe prices. Also parking.....Show me a place run by a local council that DOESN’T charge for parking? You will also notice that the cost of parking goes directly back into creating and maintaining this wonderful space. And there are plenty of places to picnic - and the woodland ‘figure of eight’ trail is highly recommended.
If you are the type that resents paying just £4 to experience Ryton Pools and you cannot be a***d to cut a few sandwiches - do yourself a favour and stay at home and watch the telly.
R. E.
Lovely country park with two good playgrounds. Cafe on site isn't too badly priced and the ham sandwiches we bought we're tasty. Duck food available to buy which was a nice touch. £3.50 for all day parking.
C. B.
Lovely walks, good places to sit and rest overlooking the lake and along the paths. Beautiful surroundings, there is paths that run alongside roads which disturbs the serenity, but serene and calm nonetheless! Cafe which serves hot food and drinks, and a couple of children's play areas too. Also bike hire is available, but pricy.
M. M.
A lovely place for a very frosty walk! The woodland trail was lovely, and really quiet (Saturday lunchtime)
T. S.
Have visited here since my kids were tiny, it's been developed and improved over that time (35years) My friend was visiting for the first time and was impressed.
D. B.
Enjoyable time with family there. Lovely park, but cold and wet in December! 😂
S. B.
A very nice place to have a walk round and explore, also there is a cafe and a bike hire place.
c. w.
Nice walk with playing areas for kids, cafe & restrooms definitely go back
Dog friendly
N. H.
It's so well kept and there's lots of wildlife to be seen there. After getting your ten thousand steps in admiring the stunning scenery, The Courtyard Cafe offers some lovely refreshments.
J. W.
Beautiful place for walks and bike rides. My son had an amazing den building party here! Ranger George and Ranger Courtney where amazing with the 16 kids they had!
B. B.
Grounds well maintained. Friendly staff. Bike hire and cafe little pricey.
G. N.
Brilliant place for a walk. Wappenbury and Ryton woods were a great addition to the walk around Ryton Pools. Walked 6 miles.
s. g.
Went today with a toddler and pre teen and we all loved it equally. Parking for 4 hrs for £4 reasonable enough. Hired bikes and had great fun exploring the area. My toddler loved feeding the ducks. There are two playing areas one near the car park and other one little further with lot more rides. The queue on the ice cream van was bit long but worth waiting. Only sad bit that miniature train was closed today
P. B.
Lovely place for a walk. Set out beautifully, plenty of routes, lovely pools and good play areas for the kids. Car parking a bit expensive but when the park is as well maintained as it is you can't complain. A real asset for Warwickshire
R. P.
Gorgeous visit walking through the woods on the figure of 8 trail .....
S. T.
Looked a fun place for young families with lots of things to do. Visitor centre with cafe.
G. M.
Great place for a family walk, dog friendly. A variety of wide gravel, grass and woodland paths. Several playground area's also within the park as well as a Miniature railway which operates at weekends. Has a great little coffee shop and gift shop.
H.
Too expensive if only there for less than an hour.
Cafe expensive so picnic good idea if going for a few hours. The walks around are tidy and clean and obviously having work done with new viewing and seating area. Park area is good for children and big field to fly kites and ball games.
B. S.
Stunning place perfect for group walks especially as there are pushchair and wheelchair accessible routes. Stunning views. Not suitable for dog swimming though due to blue algae
D. C.
Great place to visit with children and adults of all age groups, wide pathways and electric scooters are available to hire. Also able to cycle, plus plenty of picnic tables around the area. Dogs are also welcome
D. P.
A fabulous place for a quiet walk around the trails or in the woods.
S. h.
Nice place ,great to walk the dog around .I have a yearly pass and go a few times a week.2 good parks for the kids
D. R.
really nice place, the furthest part of the lake if you enter by the main car park, has no fence and could be a bit dangerous for children as they could fall to the lake, this might sound a bit extreme but not impossible
L. H.
So peaceful and clean. Parks and walks to go round. A wonderful ice cream van around the lake, the best ice-creams you'll find anywhere.
S. M.
Beautiful park, the pools are absolutely stunning, especially on a sunny day. Great for a run, walk, or to take the kids for a play in one of the various parks.
T. C.
Fabulous green space , park, pools , bike hire, shop, toilets and ice-cream van. Pay to park by card. Enjoyed our visit. Would recommend.
G.
One of the best walks around Coventry one could ask for. It takes a good hour to circle around the park, there's a lake, there's a bird watching shelter, rabbits and it's quiet.
Therenare running trails, bike trails, picnic spots, a playground for kids and a coffee shop.
Plenty of on-site Paid parking available.
P. D.
Really lovely place for nature, even saw a friendly horse and donkey. Great for all ages. Cubbington village (local) is really posh too.
D. P.
Lovely area for a walk, feed ducks, and look at wildlife. Bee wall was dead. Butterfly areas were dead. Still a lovely walk!
K. B.
Love this place, such a lovely dog friendly park and a great walk, with lots of things to see. If you have children equally as amazing, lots of parks and things for them to explore
S. B.
Great day out for the kids and dogs, lots to do and see, ice-cream is quite expensive but the bikes were great fun and the train ride is fun and not costly.
K. C.
This is a beautiful walk, suitable for families even with pushchairs and wheelchairs. The main paths are wide and sandy but children could run through the smaller, more exciting woodland paths. There are also bikes to hire on site. Parking seems to be ample and you can pay by card. I have attached a photo of the bike hire options.
G. B.
Well maintained country park. Lots of parking, assessable tracks for cycling pushchairs and wheelchairs. Plenty to do and see.
H. D.
Just as wonderful as I remember from childhood. Lovely walks and very family friendly. Will be back soon.
C. D.
A very relaxing place, good for nature lovers too.
Whether you're in for a good walk or go on cycling it is best to enjoy with friends or family.
K. B.
Amazing park and very clean. Good facilities and lots to do. Being money for the ice cream truck rather than the ice cream shop in the cafe. They're a very good price on the truck and so much choice!
R. H.
Really a lovely place to ride bikes with the family or just enjoy a country walk. Bring your own picnic though as buying anything to eat and drink there is very expensive.
A. A.
Supposedly a good carp spot but limited carpy feels to it .....one side of lake is caterered for match anglers seat box areas
The rest are random pegs more suitable for a carper .....again its just a day ticket water so no over night fishing
The place is well bailiffed
Parking onsite and full country park to get lost in i am yet to fish this so will update my review when ive wet my lines
I. C.
love Ryton Country park.it is my most favourite place to go...
S. G.
Plenty to see and do, with great walking trails for the family, as well as two childrens play areas
A. F.
A nice place for walk. Parking can be tight on ocacions.
A. S.
Verrrrrrrrrrry beautiful pub. Born and raised in Coventry but never knew about this until recently. Wish the car parking was free/cheaper but I guess that helps limit the number of people that visit...Definitely worth a visit, got bike rentals which is fun too and a great cafe and lots of space for kids to play on swings and such!
E.
Parking on the high side £4.50
Annoying scooter/bikes that are available to hire (only because riders go too fast on them)
Having said that if you go off the main paths and follow the wood signs, you can end up at the bluebell woods during the Spring
T. D.
A beautiful walk in the park. Good to see maintenance has been undertaken, also the Sand Martin nest building that we haven't seen before. It was very busy but we found parking wasn't a problem and everyone seemed to be having a good time on the play areas or just enjoying a stroll.
B. F.
A lovely place to walk around with friends and family or even cycle if the choice was made. There is an opportunity to hire bikes, tandems and even recumbents too for the more adventurous cyclists. The playgrounds are a fantastic place for children to venture and explore. Not to forget the miniature railway that runs every Sunday. Plenty of activities for all the family. Enjoy your day out there.
J. O.
Visited the first time this week with a friend. We have a 5mth old and 1yr old. Walks seemed varied, pebbly pathways, little one still slept. The foothills Park looked great and want to bring my 3yr old so she can try the climbing wall. Looking forward to finding the children's wood next time too. Will be visiting again.
M. V.
Lovely place to bring your family. Quiet and relaxing with lots of spots for a picnic.
S. W.
Me and the dogs love this place. The cafe has gluten free options and friendly staff. The people seem nice and respectful, always a good day out with plenty to do. Lots of parks for kids to play in with activitys dotted around the park, bike hire available at reasonable prices, and some nice picknick areas,
If your in the area it's worth a visit
J. H.
Took the dog for a walk round. It been for 30 years. Very clean and tidy. Did see a few dogs off the leads, eoth owners getting funny when I asked them to put them on a lead. Carpark charges are a little high. But overall a nice place to walk the dog.
L. B.
Really nice park for a good walk with the family . New forrest trail open - we really enjoyed it
D. B.
Great morning out in the November sunshine. Excellent facilities too.
N. C.
Some great country walks, lovely lakes/pools ,lovely play areas for the kids, nice little restaurant and bathroom facilities, you can easily spend the whole day here, lots of benches and tables for picnics. Great for dog walkers, look online for fishing permits.
C. M.
Loved walking around Ryton. Did all of the walks to burn some of my sons energy. Beautiful settings. I live south Leicestershire but worth the drive.
j. j.
We take our grandchildren regularly. They live the freedom and feeding the ducks. We have done the toddler Trundle a few times but don't feel it is value for money so we do our own thing and have a great time.
D.
Love this park 😍 there is a handful of play parks located around the park 🙂 you should definitely try bringing little kids. There is a few car 🚗 parks also dotted around
C. M.
Mobility scooter friendly .prefer tarmac to gravel ...but hey ho! Nice to have cup of tea at Cafe.
P. B.
Very good Country Park especially for children with cafe, ice cream van, miniature railway and play area. Also fishing for Leamington A.A. members and Wildlife.
c. g.
Great staff! Amazing events for little one! Would highly recommend it.
I. L.
Great place to spend an afternoon with the dog and grandkids, lovely walks and a great playground for the kids. Just a shame there is no concession for disabled drivers
M. L.
Nice walks but £3 2 hour parking is steep.
T. O.
I had never been here, despite only living a few miles away for years. A lovely walk with woods and water and a great little cafe
A. L.
It's a nice walking space to get out there for some fresh air.
E. N.
Lovely walk and parks scattered beautiful place. We all had a fab time
K. D.
You can take a some really nice walks around ryton pools and the surrounding area. They've got a little cafe which is pleasant.
I. R.
A good place to have a walk. Kids park is too good and the miniature train is just for a pound, a long trail is amazing. Worth for a pound.
S. G.
Lovely place for walks, and picnics.. kids loved to build dens and play in the fabulous park areas x
D. B.
Lovely place for a walk. Lots to do and see with bike hire and parks for the kids. Had a jacket potato in the cafe wasn't great a bit dry.
S. N.
Great family NYE get together enjoyed by adults and children alike - and not forgetting two dogs! Lots of space, lots of puddles to jump in or run through - ideal if you're wearing wellies or have paws!
Ice cream van a welcome sight as was the cafe.
We tend to forget it's on our doorstep! How do we manage that?!
P. M.
Took a walk on a Saturday afternoon, pleasant walks, with marked trails. Very scenic for former gravel pits! Lots of dog walkers, with warnings posted to keep them on lead or under control. Toilets and refreshments available at the Visitor Centre , and car parks not overly full
R. R.
£3 to park and very well kept. Paths muddy through winter months
L.
Lovely place. My walking mates reckoned the Latte in the cafe was the best they had ever had; nice and hot and not all froth. Nice, friendly and helpful chap running the cafe too! Perfect. My cup of tea was excellent as well. Great place to walk. Well worth a visit.
C. P.
Lovely location, some spots for the dogs to wet their legs but keep an eye out for the blue green algae warnings
S. K.
Great nature views and walk around the lake with kids.
N. K.
One of my favourite places to go for a walk. It's about 2 miles to go all the way around the two pools but there is so much more to see than that. The forest has multiple trails to go through and many things to see. The park as a whole is home to many creatures and makes for a truly wonderful day out.
L. S.
Great food ' great family park ' shame about some thoughtless litter bugs ' best icecream we've ever had ' lovely staff .
G. W.
Superb miniature railway, open every Sunday afternoon and bank holiday Mondays from April through September, and beautiful lake and walks. Good for kids too.
Carpark a bit high but the miniature railway is still good value at £1 a ride. The kids love it.
B.
Went on a trip with the school, lots of help and very useful information from out guides. Went pond skimming and managed to catch a small fish. We than built some den's and a good play in the park. What a lovely day.
A. C.
Lovely job on the new paths and areas for den building.
The visitor centre/ shop was a bit disappointing.
The food from the café wasn't bad but not great. We had 2 panini and for the money was very disappointed.
Glad I had my credit card too as didn't realise that the car park was credit card payment only.
M. A.
Great place for kids ,plenty of play area and nice walks. Lovely autumn colours.
Only issue is parking charges have gone up
S. M.
Excellent morning out with the granddaughters. Two excellent play parks, lovely walks, great café and a little shop. Just enough!
T. M.
Lovely place to visit nice walks and a go ape.
P. H.
This is the first time I've been here. I went on a weekday morning at the end of September, so it was very quiet. Nice place to wander around by the lakes. There's a mix of paved routes and others that go through the woods, and those are just dirt tracks and were pretty muddy in places. There is a charge to park (pay and display) and you'll need a debit or credit card as the pay machines are cashless. The charge was from £3 to £6 for all day. I didn't use any of the facilities, such as the cafe. There were several children's play areas, and there was a miniature steam railway, but I think this was closed while I was there. A good place to walk your dog, and several people had their dogs off lead.
N. T.
Lovely cycle ride around the pools little cafe tea ,coffee ,lite bites etc, parking reasonable ,lots for the kids to do ,we found a lovely ancient wood to ride around not for the feint hearted. Hard ride .
j. e.
Great play parks and nice walks, perfect place for kids and dog lovers alike
M. L.
Beautiful park for outdoor activities. Family and friends day out with nice routes and a pond to view ducks and swans. Definitely recommend for a visit. Parking charges apply but card payments are now accepted.
N. R.
Lovely atmosphere and nice peaceful walks
R.
10 minutes from Nina's grandmother when we visit from Edinburgh. Mini railway, great walks, ducks to feed and funtastic play areas. Amazing!
J. W.
Nice park, 3 different walking routes with different lengths. Semi-gravel paths so doesn't get too muddy with diverse weather. Dog friendly. Parking £3 for up to 2 hours. Cafe prices are a little expensive, seems to be the norm now in family friendly parks unfortunately.
T. B.
Great place for the kids, train is fun... Not finished yet however looking to
k. p.
Great Park for the kids and lovely views around the lake
O. A.
This park is absolutely beautiful. I go on weekdays and it’s so quiet in the mornings. Especially great if you have anxiety like me. There is a beautiful big lake and if you go downhill you can sit by the opening and just watch the water. There’s also another smaller lake near the main trail. I love how peaceful it is, perfect place for a picnic. There’s lots of wildlife and woods and great places to take pictures. Parking is decent considering £3-£6 depending on time spent there. It is quite a big park so At first it was hard to find my way around, been there 4/5 times now and I know my way around. Highly recommend
H. V.
A great place to take the kids and/or you dog. Great walk, beautiful scenery and excellent amenities. A regular place for me and the family and dog to go to spend a few hours, definitely recommend
L. L.
Beautiful watching the sunrise across the lake and walking through the woods. Lots to see and do for all ages. Good information boards and maps. Shop and cafe looked good but we didn't go in.
d. n.
Very big place, went off the main path got lost for a while but found civilization once again
J. M.
Nothing spectacular but a nice walk. Sensory walk is amazing, lots of things to interact with
S. p.
Lovely afternoon with a gentle walk and a lovely picnic with my wife and our dog around ryton pools
a. b.
Nice place to take the kids for a walk, feeds the ducks and go to the kids forest
C. K.
Lovely place for a walk with the dogs. The cafe was good also. Great place to see a variety of birds.
N. P.
Parking a little expensive... But scenery very nice! Very relax! Will come again. Thank you
J. M.
Whatever the time of year this is one of my favourite spots within the Warwickshire countryside. Not a large area but big enough for a great country walk, play area for the kids and plenty of wildlife. Well kept and good amenities.
B. D.
Great place for a walk in the woods near Coventry.
D. h.
Lovely country park, play areas for kids, wheelchair and buggy friendly. Bike hire available and on site cafe. Plenty of car parking and card payments available.
a. o.
Great place for a nice long dog walk with lakes, woodland walk (or not-you can choose). Nice Park for the children, toilets , cafe, education centre. Lots of parking.
A. R.
Lovely walk around the trail. Lots of little things to look at, good little park, tasty treats at the cafe, friendly staff and clean toilets with good baby changing. Pay and display machine in the car park was having issues but that was the only issue.
A. C.
Nice place to walk around, there is plenty of marked trails, and at the visitor centre there's lots of things for the kids to do like see bugs, there's a play park too. £3 parking for up to 2 hours is a bit steep though but other than that it was an enjoyable walk. You can even go walking in Ryton woods which too has a marked figure of 8 trail with lots of birdlife there.
A. J.
A great place for family walks and play with many interchanging routes, it is assessable for everyone. Popular at the weekend but there are many carparks upon entering. With a couple of play areas and a café. Lovely for evening walks too as it stays open later in the summer. The site also holds events for charities and clubs.
With many areas to sit and take in the naturally sounds and great landscape. It is a place to visit more them once
h. w.
Great place for kids, brilliant playground. The reason for the lost star is carpark payments only by card.........no android pay, Apple pay or cash I was stuck as only got cash or phone, luckily a very nice lady paid mine on her card and I gave her the cash.
R. J.
Wonderful place for a walk around in peace and quiet. The trails are pram friendly and arranged in loops so you can do a little or a lot. Parking is by card(easy to use), but the cafe accepts cash only
D. F.
Varied scenery. Spread out with different areas for different activities. We enjoyed walking our furry dogs through the woods.
Car parking fairly expensive: £3.00 for 2 hours. But you can pay by card.
L. I.
Absolutely lovely place to g for a nice peaceful walk. The biggest problem I have is they have no baby swings in the two separate parks which meant my 8 month old couldn't go on hence the 4 stars not 5. Parking was jam packed so had to go all the way to the third car park from the exit. Well maintained picturesque walk non the less a definite must visit if you are fairly local 👍
J. P.
Wonderful countryside park; good for a shorter walk or picnic and lots to keep younger children entertained too. There are several carparks, which you have to pay to use, but the machines accept card payments. Other facilities include a cafe, toilets and visitor centre. There are benches and picnic tables around the park. The model railway is not in operation at the moment due to social distancing regs but still looks well maintained.
P. B.
Loverly country park well worth the visit. Only reason I didn't give it more stars is the cafes a bit expensive and you have to pay to park.
J. M.
Lovely place for all. Great for dog walking or just chilling with a picnic. Nice play area for the kids. Cafe and toilets near car park. Large meadow for families. Xx
M. E.
Went Christmas eve to stretch legs. Lovely place
D. M.
A lovely tranquil area to walk, sit on a bench or in the car and enjoy 'duck therapy!' A friendly café, ice cream man called Dave who sells hot drinks (as well as ice creams) and a visitors centre / shop and a miniature railway. Go there!
G. M.
Beautiful place ...Bird House look out..
J. G.
Great family afternoon out. The only negative is we thought the cafe was expensive. A panini costs £6.95 and a bottle of pop was £2.50 so, you're looking at near enough £10 per person for a sandwich and a drink. Other than that the park is fantastic with plenty to do and see.
c. w.
Went for a walk around on Sunday real good morning out
T. M.
Weather was against us today & while we managed a short walk it was not as planned. Will be back though.
B. B. G.
Nice scenic walk, good dry tracks ,can hire bikes.Nice cafe and seating area ,plenty of car parking.
G. V.
Great place to bring the kids, loads of space and loads to do. Visitor centre is lovely and the cafe isn't too bad either 😂. Adventure playgrounds are ace, the pirate treasure trail great, will definitely come here again and again!
A. W.
Great place to walk round. Glad to see cafe open... great for kids to run round... 2 great playgrounds for them. Icecream man does hot choccy drinks at the large playground ... plenty of wildlife to see even in winter....
E. P.
What a wonderful mid week day out. Despite it being march it was open and the cafe and ice cream and toilets were open (necessary if you have small children) great walks, great parking, very well kept area. Good mix of play ground for all different ages. A good out door den area which would be good for many things. Could not recommended enough
J. G.
Lovely place for a walk, so glad to be back again. Cafe open too so able to celebrate with ice creams 😀
G. M.
I love this place, there is a pirate theme playground for the children and a pirate walk with picnic area for the kids. The walk around Ryton Pools is natural, flat, easy walking, very well marked directions. There are observations areas over the pools and rivers, and a bigger kids playground. The cafe is spot on with its selection of food and beverages and very reasonably priced, staff are caring and polite. Will add more when everything opens up.
N. H.
Can be busy almost all year round when open. But plenty of parking spread across the grounds. 2 kids areas for smaller and older kids to play, little cafe, bike hire and toilets. Different trails to walk with more nature or a lake to walk around. Plenty of benches to sit on and scattered family picnic benches. Great place to visit, will definitely go again
M. W.
Clean ... Green ... and there was even an ice cream van ( -10°) and not many people making it a great experience
G. g.
Nice nature country walking, lakes, trails are well shown and described. Long walking for 2-3 hours trails.
Depends on weather and seasons conditions.
M. M.
Amazing place must visit! Me and my wife went to see this park and it was wonderful. There were so many different places to explore. One of them being a pirate cave. We would definitely be coming again.
O. C.
Great place with lots of space and picnic benches. There is also an amazing play park!
P. T.
Nice enough to walk around, fairly open with some good spots to look over the small lakes. The car park was £3 for 2 hours. A number of rats running around outside the shop that sold overpriced drinks.
Small playground for children and a pirate themed walk.
J. C.
Good day out with the family and wheelchair friendly in places.
P. D. H.
Always a good place to be in. Family-friendly, easy walks, clean and quiet
C. T.
Great place to walk the dogs but the woods this time of year will get incredibly muddy so wellies will be needed. In the winter, pay and display parking is only £3.00 for the whole day. The toilets are still open at the moment and the cafe is doing takeaway. Large play areas for children.
M. T.
Lovely variety of walks with a nice cafe.
B. S.
Lovely walks and a great little cafe
S. J.
Nice place for a walk. Suitable for families with young children. Has a cafe and toilet facilities.
A. J.
Great park for a walk, cycle or with the kids. Not too big. They have on site cycles available for hire but it's hidden ....
J. D.
Local walk for me with bird life, pools, woodland and a coffee shop.
C. M.
A lovely family walk with plenty of activities for the children. Dog friendly as well. A cafe at the end of your walk that does delicious coffee.
R. M.
Beautiful park. Loads of outdoor space and reasonable cafe. Great for people who love walking.
S. L.
Quite busy but good number of parking spaces. Very clean, no litter, impressive given number of people. Staff unfailingly polite in office and grounds staff.
Watch out for high speed low down cycles. Fitting bells or honkers would help.
P. M.
Lovely country park which played host to a walk in aid of the MND Association. The Park staff have worked hard to offer a great experience, with many varied activities to enjoy. Great facilities and reasonable parking.
N. P.
Excellent place to visit as a family. Good amount of parking which is charged upto a maximum of £6 for the full day. Toilets and a cafe near the first car park. Plenty of benches and grassed areas to sit if the day is lovely. As you walk around the place, there are also a lot of places to stop (and sit with all the benches everywhere) and admire the lovely things to see there. The lake is a bonus. The play areas are also outstanding. They are well thought out and have things for small children and bigger children too. The day we visited, there was also an ice cream van near the lake and play area. There is a hut which offers bike rental, which we didnt take up. Our children are still rather young so we brought out own scooters and bikes along. The path is relatively easy to walk and scoot/cycle on. Pushchair friendly too. We will definately be returning here very soon!
T. N.
Truly Fabulous Family Venue.
Great for walks with family, friends, dogs and children. Mini train and adventure playground for children and a fabulous day ticket fishing lake containing specimen tench plus carp, roach, bream and pike. Also very good for birdwatching etc. There is also a very clean cafeteria and spotless toilet facilities.
However it is a vast area with lots of trails and first time visitors can very easily become lost.
There is an information centre on site and usually plenty of rangers and support staff if you need help or advice.
J. F.
One of my favorite country parks in Warwickshire. Has several car parks all with contactless pay and display. Will be very busy during peak holiday times. Visitor centre, cafe, WC, children's play area. A mixture of hard and soft paths so will cater for wheelchair users and families with pushchairs as well as those who like to explore the woods.
Ice cream vans and a narrow gauge railway in the summer months along with ranger led children's activities as announced.
In the quiet seasons, a good place to blow the cobwebs out and get some fresh air for a couple of hours.
S. W.
Nice place but the forest path needs a bit of tlc, could easily be paid for by providing overnight parking for campervans and motorhomes, it was a shame not to be able to stay and enjoy the other trails in the morning
H. V.
Lovely park and 3 trails to pick so good for what ever size walk you want.
W. d. F.
Gorgeous place to visit, lovely play areas and woods for kids to play in. Beautiful walks. Make sure to wear decent walking boots or sturdy shoes and take some bird food for the birds. Oh and don't forget to visit the bird hide 😊 only thing is, it could do with the pathways having some new gravel put down, very sparse in parts, leaves you walking through sheer mud. Take £3 for car park too. That's for all day parking.
W. J. (.
Nice place for a walk. Quiet and calm. With a little surprise for train lovers
L. H.
Always nice. Well maintained parks (there is two) and great for kids, got a pirate theme going on too which feeds their imagination. The park at the visitor centre is better for younger kids, whilst the top park is good for older kids. Also has a nice forest to explore that's easy to get lost in.
Just a couple of notes
Dogs: very dog friendly with plenty of bins and water bowl at cafe. But avoid letting your dog swim in any of the lakes or ponds as has blue green algea which is dangerous for them.
Parking: contactless available but Google/Apple pay currently not working, remember your card. If you intend on staying late use the lower car park as the top bit is locked at dusk. Do not park on the main road as you will get fined.
R. L.
Wonderful walking path through this country park
J. L.
Great to take kids or dogs for a nice walk and an ice cream. Would be careful with dogs off the lead around the water as there is Blue-Green Algae there which can be harmful to dogs, so just keep them out of the ponds. There's some fun plaques detailing what the landscape and wildlife might have been like during the ice age as I think they dug up some remains. Forest walk is really lovely
M. t. D.
Plenty of parking with 4 carparks.
Good wheelchair access and good surface. Some slopes but not steep. Just would need a little support pushing.
Dogs allowed off leads.
3 miles circular walk.
Good picnic area near carpark 3.
Cafe area is very pleasant. A children's play area near too the cafe. There is only one bench to sit on in the play area, they could do with more.
They have put a few tables and chairs outside the cafe for customers only.
The toilets are right next to the cafe with a disabled toilet.
They have no picnic benches in that area because of covid 19. The visitor centre was closed.
They have a large tree 🌳 in the cafe with several bird feeders on with a bench near by to sit and watch the birds feeding.
This is such a lovely park.
J. S.
Great place to take the children and the dogs for a country walk. Keep them both occupied.
s. b.
Lovely place to dive into for refreshments etc whilst walking around the pool and surrounding woods..
A. B.
Its great here why?
A great miniture railway for railway enthuses and railway modellers and a senic ride
Great places.to walk or cycle
Two fantastic play areas for childen
Located near Coventry leamington Spa and Kenilworth
There the ressons enjoy it here
L. R. (.
Great place to get your 10000 steps in!... Good parking with cafe and toilets. Two children's areas and lots of activities for children but think you need to book for some. Good place to walk dogs too.
R. M.
My family have been coming to Ryton pools for years. It is great for all ages with two fantastic play areas, a cafe, a lovely route to walk dogs or cycle round and the ice cream van is almost always there! It can get busy on a weekend but during the week quieter and lots of places to explore through woods or just relaxing by the lake. Parking prices are reasonable and it takes contactless payment. Highly recommend.
A. M.
A nice experience with mountain bikes extremelly cheap and fun!
R. L.
The park is lovely but the cafe well 2 cakes and two drinks £14.50 is not good at all so be sure to take your own.
R. G.
Great for a not to strenuous walk and exercise during the day. Cafe with friendly staff, also other facilities like play areas and bike hire. Recommended, (but parking charges do apply).
C. S.
A great place for family & friends fun ... excellent recreation park for kids for different ages. Always very well maintained. Highly recommend it
H. B.
We had great fun hiring bikes or go carts, we rode round and round the paths. We also been to the make a rocket activity and launch. We been to the evening wildlife walk and activities, starting of with Jacket Potatoes round a fire, having a go at pond dipping, bat walk and spotting, moths. It was all great fun, and educational engaging for children and adults. The playgrounds in the park are great especially the main one at the bottom of the park.
G. B.
We had a lovely time, no litter , plenty of parking and a happy Dog 🙂
C. V.
Really like the playgrounds here, good range of obstacles for children of all ages. Didn't explore the rest of the park further on this occasion but looks like plenty to do another time. Reasonable parking charges and plenty of space.
G. K.
Fantastic walk , great cafe , very child friendly
M. R.
Great for a nice walk and a coffee
A. S.
Such a lovely place to spend time walking with the grandchildren. Then off they can go to the play area (in some need of attention and repair) and use up some of that energy 🙂
E. C.
Great Park facilities for kids young and old. The younger play area has a range of pirate themed play equipment. It is near the cafe and toilets so really good for parents. The parking is 3.50 which if you can't stay long is excessive. Wish there was a two tier option. The pools are great.. Kids loved feeding the ducks and fish with food from the shop. Nice selection of walks ranging in distance.
G. M.
Great place to walk with family or friends. Lots to see and do. Cafe is very nice and so is the food. All staff were friendly and helpful ☺️
P. M.
Family orientated. Push chair friendly. Great play areas for kids, and nice cafe and picnic areas.
R. P.
Excellent! Lovely afternoon with Mum in her wheelchair. It wasn't too difficult at all. A shame about the car park charges but the money goes to maintaining the park so can't complain. Great cafe serving a good range of light food and very good coffee. Overall a really nice place for all ages.
A. T.
Nice stroll around the park. Paths are wide and well paved, suitable for our pram. Be aware there is little shade, so we got a bit warm in the bright sunshine.
H. G.
Nice walk around the lake, not too far. The pirate trail was great for the kids to follow. Small playground next to the cafe good for younger children. Large play area a bit further round ghe lake for bigger kids. Parking not too expensive at £4 for 2-4 hours.
N. B.
We are regular visitors at Ryton Country Pools for the simple reasons that we can take our lovely dog for a great walk and the kids can either take their bikes, scooters, walk or rent little go karts. Our visit today was only a short one (just over an hour) as we had my daughters friend with us and had an hour to kill before a birthday party. The kids all love the play park and the dog is able to walk off his lead and have a splash in the lake so he was happy too. The parking charges have gone up, but it is still only £3 for up to 2 hours. It is obviously more for longer but still only £4 for up to 4 hours which is incredibly good value for money for a family car. The kids played in the park, then enjoyed an ice cream. The dog enjoyed a walk and a swim and I managed to keep them all entertained and outside, away from computers and TVs by myself. If you are looking for a longer day out, pack a picnic and either make use of the many picnic tables or bring a blanket and make a day of it. There are open spaces for games, there is a miniature railway (check for open times of that though) and there are also activities on all year round for the kids to take part in. There are several walks to enjoy, again depending on how much time you want to spend there. I highly recommend for anyone with dogs or kids or even couples of all ages who just want to walk. You only pay the parking charges so a bargain too.
G. B.
It's a good place to enjoy some woodland and other outdoor things.
Parking is chargeable.
J. W.
This is good for a day out with the kids. The adventure playground was good and the woods were very interesting. Car parking is a flat £2.50 for all day.A good day for those with young children! A new playground near the biggest lake is fantastic for children of all ages. There is a small train ride but it only runs on Sunday and bank holiday monad afternoons!
K. G.
Nice play area, but there is no clear map of the park anywhere and the big part of it is a big field, which cannot be accessed, so a pretty boring walk.
J. O. A.
Ryton Pools Country park offers scenic countryside, with wildlife and lakes making for a varied and enjoyable walk. The going is easy underfoot, with footpaths that are fairly solid even after heavy rain.
If one has time and the inclination, there is a large area of ancient woodland adjacent to the pools that is worth exploring.
A cafe is a useful amenity situated close to the large car park. The food and drinks are good quality. Excellent veggie sausage sandwiches!
Of interest is the fact that part of the site was once used for landfill from Coventry, Rugby and Leamington Spa. The organic matter deposited there has created methane gas. This is used to power a generator providing electricity which is fed into the national grid.
We had some enjoyable hours at Ryton Pools and I recommend it.
J. S.
Really beautiful Woodlands and play areas. Walks of up to 6km are easy to accomplish by following the many paths through the woodland areas. Great place to go for bluebells in season also. Parking is well organised if limited and it can get very busy.
J. W.
I like this place, very nice layout but when I went it was absolutely packed, had to queue up to go on playground equipment. They rent out go karts and bikes but it's relatively expensive so bring some money if your looking to do that. Overall Good park to be fair
J. E.
Lovely place to walk the dogs, jog or even pootle around on bikes with the kids. Enough space to sit and eat, kids to play. Only gripe is the coffee from the guest center is absolutely terrible and the pricing is aimed at making you pay a little more than you intend to
D.
Lovely walk but car park machines will not take cash only credit cards this is bad if u have travelled there without card and have cash only.
E. P.
Lovely place, loads of paths in the woodlands to "get lost" in and explore with kids, could wander for hours. If you don't fancy getting your boots muddy, there are nice paths suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs and bikes. Loved the playground and an icecream van man is very friendly
R. F.
A lovely park with great party areas and nice walks round the lakes and a number of activities for children. A small railway runs in the season.
Particularly look out for the Halloween events which are great fun.
Main gripe is the parking is quite expensive for short stays, but if you're bringing the whole family and staying for a few hours it's not bad.
J. M.
Took granddaughter for a wonderful trip to Ryton Pools, fantastic day, the play parks are great fun, lots of open space to run around, a chance to feed the ducks. Only drawback at the moment the train is not running. Great day out x
S. R.
Never visited this place before and ending up going back on consecutive days. Love area for walks and cycling and the parks are really good for children. Good bike and Go kart rental too.
A. P.
Great place to come, due to Covid-19 you have to prepay parking tickets £3.00 good value really.
We visited to cycle there and the local bridleway route, as always clean & tidy, not too busy either, plenty of car parking spaces. And very friendly staff, who if course social distanced.
A. D.
Lovely day with me boys!
J. H.
Lovely country park with lots of things for the kids to do. Great parks and a little pirate walk which my daughter loved. Would absolutely recommend for a day trip or morning/afternoon out. (Don't wear your nice shoes, the paths are quite dusty/chalky)
A. C.
Well kept nature reserve, good walks with viewing areas for bird watchers. Dog friendly. Small cafe and play area. Picnic tables available.
S. B.
Great place for a walk around paved paths most of the way round but some of the trails through the woods can get very muddy so wear good footwear
D. W.
Great place for an easy walk, playgrounds for the kids and a small railway on Sundays.
H. M.
The park is great for dog walking, plenty of poo bins.
The pathways are rather muddy, when it's been raining so wellies or at the least stout footwear is advisable.
But in the summer the car parks get rather full, so best to get there early if possible.
But there's plenty of places to sit for picknicks and the like.
Nice little cafe, if a little expensive, toilets are clean and tidy, but a little pongy.
Nice large open space for the kids to run around with footballs or frisbees and the like.
Safe secure kiddies playground, and a lovely ice cream van nearby.
Would heartily recommend for a nice day out.
D. M.
Nice place to go. I and the family took our dog out for the day and came here. It was slightly overcast but dry. Parking charges are £3.50 but that's for the whole day. Their is a cafe which serves really good food and their is an information centre. Their is two or three walks around the site. All easy going. Play area for the kids on one of the routes. Also on site is a miniature railway. It wasn't running that day due to maintenance. All in all its a lovely place to go.
D. F.
Great walks around and the orienteering keeps the kids quite!
A. F.
Great family day out. Excellent play areas. Nice walks. Good footpaths. Great views of lakes. Café let's it down a bit in terms of quality but overall very good. £3 to park all day.
m. f.
Great woodland walks make sure you take your 👢
U. (.
Great place for a short or long stroll, especially for dog owners. Car parking don't allow short stays. So it's currently £3 all day even if one just wanted a 1hr visit with kids as there's a playground and some shops serving hot food there.
S. L.
Beautiful location, the surroundings are very peaceful and well looked after. Nice little cafe and great bike rental.
D. M.
Lovely park for a day out with kids or a quiet walk around. Very popular with dog walkers. New playgrounds. Connected in walking distance to Ryton Wood SSSI and Bubbenhall Wood and Meadow (Warwickshire Wildlife Trust). Parking charges to park for the day. The parking supports the running of the park and they would suffer without it. There are some really special spots if you know where to look and it's a lovely and spacious to walk around. There is a visitor centre open at the weekend where you can buy duck food and separately owned cafe and a place to rent bikes. There are lots of picnic tables around the park and places to stop and have a picnic. Rangers are friendly and helpful.
B. R.
Fantastic,e and my son rented bikes, played on the park did a trail hunt and had a picnic. We had the most lovely day, theres a cafe and toilets so you could quite literally spend the whole day there.
Absolutely reccomend for anyone wanting a cheap day out with the kids.
O. J.
Lovely place, lots of dog walkers though and some of the ponds have very low barriers, so not sure if it's the best place to take very young children. We had a great time though, enjoyed the scenery and the play area!
G. M.
Friendly member of staff in the information centre, the walks are gentle, and satisfying for those who dont like long walks, lots for the kids to do, and for anyone who likes nature. The cafe is well overpriced. £1.30 for a packet of golden wonder crisps, food i feel is just average, nothing stands out that would make me eat there again.
R. H.
Nice place to go for a walk with your dog. Or kids. Nice play areas.
R. A. C.
This is a lovely place to walk your dogs or take your children for a lovely trip in rural surroundings. The café served the best hot chocolate I've ever tasted and at a reasonable price as well.
My only complaint is the parking cost, but it's understandable because they have to make money somewhere. All in all, a wonderful day out.
D.
Lots of walking, lots of riding,
Bike hire, (£5 for 30 mins ) 3 wheel bike
Cafe,
Ice creams,
Adventure playground.
Fishing ( requires leamington angling book )
Car parks ( pay and display )
Good fun,
N. R.
The walks are ok. The bike place was shut which was a shame as our schools had broken up. Nice clean play areas for younger and older kids. Hire a mobility scooter if you like. I got bitten by something walking by the lakes so take insect spray if you are prone. Cafe food was hot but basic and expensive for what you get. No milkshakes or proper whippy ice creams available the day we went either. Parking is a bit pricey. Not sure you could make a whole day of it or want to for £6 for over 4 hours parking.
K. S.
Great for a pleasant not so long walk.
H. C.
Brilliant place for children's activities, as well as walking dogs.
M. W.
Nice Park.. But, the toilet facilities were closed. The café and bike hire were open but they didn't feel it safe to open the toilets! I surpose you can't make a profit from toilet facilities so it is not a priority. My Husband and Daughter both have disabilities that require access to these facilities so it did spoil our day
E. B.
A great place to be outdoors with kids. The playground near the car park is good for small kids, and there's a playground for older kids 5 minutes walk away, next to the lake. There's a good length of footpaths, or you can hire bicycles/tricycles; or just stay in the coffee shop, which is reasonable.
M. B.
Beautiful walk in the sunshine around Ryton Pools today. Always plenty of parking and the coffee shop is very welcome at the end of chilly walk 😃
P. T.
Mediocre, poorly maintained, badly signposted internally and why oh why does the parking meter take soooo long to process a card payment......
Spend the parking fees on maintenance, it may attract people back for a second visit.
V. H.
Ryton Pools has a café that is open in Tier 3 lockdown, 3 car parks and at least 2 playgrounds.
Last I went there, it was a Sunday and the cost to park for 11.5 hours was £3.
One playground is near the café and the first car park.
The other is to the left past the café and on a countryside walk.
The kids' train has been shutdown all of 2020.
The second play ground is near the lake and 3rd car park.
This is where the awesomeness is!
It's such a fantastic playground!
Many cool things.
Cycling is permitted outside of the playgrounds.
There are picnic benches.
There's lots of walking to be done.
People fish in the lake.
I. D.
Good paths through a variety of habitats. Get away from the crowds by walking on to Bubbenhall Wood or Wappenbury Wood, which are a lot quieter (and muddier).
R. G.
Lovely place for a stroll with the family, nice little cafe and great parks. Not much more you could ask for at a country park. Would definitely recommend a visit.
N. J.
Nice place for a days outing with your family. You can rent a bike and visit all parts of the park. Cafe was open and offers fresh n hot food. Worth visiting on a frequent basis!
s. v.
Wonderful walk around a couple of small lakes. Will come again to further explore the various paths off the route we went.
Plenty of parking available too
s. w.
Dropped the wife and daughter of in Warwick and was looking for somewhere to walk the dog. Found this place on good old Google and am really pleased we decided to try it. Was a bit worried when we arrived because I had no change for the parking machine, but luckily the information office will take card payment. Lovely walk all around the perimeter with all the good things that our dog loves - water, woods, fields, hedgerow. Loads of sniffing and exploring (the dog was sniffing, not me!). Spent a good 2 hours walking round then popped in to the little cafe for a well earned coffee and flapjack. A great place to walk the dog, just wished that we lived a bit closer.
T. P.
Lovely place for walking around, signage could do with being a bit better, plenty of picnic benches, a good footpaths.
m. p.
Love it here, walk the dog around a few times a week. Workers are nice & talkative, good cafe&shop, two play areas, both geared at different ages& lovely scenery. We have bought a parking permit as we go a lot.
J. L.
Visited today unfortunately no toilets needs sorting....
Very pleasant walk around and also did circuit in wood very good.
Would be nice to know when railway is operating 3ven if only trains.
Just a comment noted a little litter about maybe staff could have a wander around and do a litter pick items along path to pond carpark and an amount under bush nearest to car park plastic bottles near sand martin view point.
Otherwise we always enjoy to visit.
R. B.
Great park that provides fun for all the family. There is a brilliant playground, a cafe, visitors centre, train rides and lots of opportunities for walks and bike rides. Only the steep £3.50 parking charge prevents me giving 5 stars. If you are local however you can get an annual parking pass that works out cheaper.
U. M.
Nice walks and park. Lovely mini railway but only open on Sundays
H. W.
Lovely place with nice long walks for little and big kids, a park for smaller kids and one for up to 12 or a little older. They rent recumbent bicycles and bikes with toddler boxes on. There's also a cafe that does snacks and drinks (unfortunately, the coffee is terrible) and a visitors centre that sells souvenirs, duck food and gives info on the local wildlife.
There are several car parks, some are closer to the pools than others. There is also a miniature train track that does rides on a small track (this seems to be closed atm due to covid).
Car park booking is done online at the moment so book and print your ticket before you go.
There are also fishing pegs on the largest pond but I don't know if you can fish with a day ticket or if you have to join a club.
There is a fair bit to see and do and there are plenty places for picnics, it's a great morning, afternoon or whole day out for the family. We go fairly regularly.
J. S.
first visit today and will definitely be returning. Everywhere was clean and very well maintained...worth the parking charges which I didnt think was that unreasonable. my only minor objection was the prices in the cafe for the coffee, not very good value for the cost. didnt eat there so no opinion on the food.
kids loved the parks! Best we've been to for that!
Z. A.
Great place. A bit pricey for the parking almost 1£ an hour so 4£ for 4 hours. But lovely walks and play area.
p. a.
It was ok for a walk good gravel paths couple of lakes but not much wild life...ok cafe with seats kids play area looked ok 3 pound to park.
g. w.
Good place for a walk around the lake and there is a lovely cafe for something to eat and drink
M. A.
Lovely park came to do the Halloween trail. Could have been better organised though seemed a bit all over the place! The park itself was lovely and we happy to discover a lovely hidden play area we never knew was there it was fabulous kids had a great time. We had some food and ice cream which was lovely and well priced too
J. C.
Excellent value outdoors walking space. Carpark is the only necessary expense, and you'll need a few quid in change. Café on site, as well as a visitor centre. It was done up nicely for Halloween.
Couple of play areas for kids, but we were there just to walk the dog!
L. E.
Nice cafe and good walks plenty of space for the children to ride their bikes.
S. S.
Nice place for a walk or to take the kids. Couple of nice parks but food is overpriced. Take your own food if you don't mind paying mega bucks
G. S.
Fantastic for the kids, walks, dens and ice cream!!
L. K.
Excellent place if you have toddlers or younger children make sure you have a pushchair or are willing to carry them. Excellent place for practicing bike riding. And varied play areas, worth the car park fee and better than Coombe.
P. E.
A great place for a walk or picnic with a family or a dog with a mix of lakes, fields and small woods. It has hides and viewing platforms for bird watchers, an occasional miniature railway and a friendly cafe.
T. E.
Nice pleasant and friendly place to visit, even with dogs. Children’s play park and play area. Good overall for a nice relaxing walk.
I. W. (.
The great outdoors. A safe environment for the kids to let off steam. Lovely walks and two play areas. There is also a shop and cafe plus areas to picnic or play. The only cost really is the carpark.
C. A.
Great little country parkland and pools. A lovely walk round, play area for kids and cafe with loo. Mini train ride on select days. Dog friendly too. Most enjoyable few hours.
V. J.
Very good Park.
R. G.
Nice park with some variable length walks, paths in fairly good condition. Lake place for feeding the birds. Nice playground suiting a range of ages. Has a Café and visitors centre near the main car park. Parking is £3.
On certain days there is a miniature steam railway providing rides for £1
J. R.
Tranquil walks with lakes and woods. Limited but imaginative play areas for young children, and a cafe with cooked snacks. A small railway runs on Sundays for £1 a ride. Bargain.
Lots of benches and picnic tables spread around the whole area.
e. s.
Lovely place, lots of wildlife. Sign postage terrible got very very lost.
A. B.
Very nice place to spent time witg family and friends. Nice, big playgrounds, nice paths to walk, picnic areas... looks like miniature railway doesn't work these strange times, but this is understood. All in good condition and well maintained.
a. p.
Very nice forests to walk.
Well done.
R. M.
A good park with alot to walk around & a play area. Take a bike and explore more, thats what i will do next time 😊
S. R.
Very quiet when we were there recently, but I can see it getting busy here. And with good reason. Really enjoyed a good walk. The park is quite varied considering it's not a huge area.
Thought the cafe was slightly overpriced, but a very good visit nonetheless.
p. k.
Super relaxing nature walk.
Simple with cafe and kids play area.
Swans, ducks etc. will be back.
M. W.
Lovely walks and a good cafe
D. P.
Brilliant for the kids, only downside when getting a car park ticket and if paying by card it seems to have to check everyone's bank before it issues a ticket, it's takes a few mins for each customer to get their card authorised (which is for a very small amount), hence a long queue of people waiting.
R. M.
Thus place holds memories of great walks with my children when they were little.
A big part of the attraction was getting lost in the woods.
Unfortunately, the woods seem to have lost part of its character. The surface was chopped.amd chirned, cut up and bleeding some.of its soul.
I guess this is impact of HS2 which is really sad 😥.
However, for the rest of the attraction thst needs a helluva a lot of tlc in to the future, a lovely place to visit.
L. O.
Really great for walking, lots of steep slopes near the water so we were a bit worried about letting the dogs off their leads, really friendly staff. Cafe is very expensive!
d. R.
It's good and the bikes you can rent are fun but ideally needs more parks as there is alot of nature but can be quite boring for younger kids
H. R.
Loverly day out very clean friendly staff
r. d.
Lovely place. It has a miniature railway too. And a lake. Some sheep unfortunately, the idiots.
R. G.
Nice place to go for a walk but the parking is only one price for all day and it's not large enough to spend the day there. Also just paid nearly £12 for three small hot chocolates and a cake slice Which I think is abit expensive especially when the hot chocolate just tastes like weak chocolate water.
L. B.
The place had pretty much everything needed! Playgrounds, fields, woods, paths, walking, cycling, trail, wildlife searches ... in our opinion, the only thing that would have made this place better would have been a beach type area to paddle or row.
The info centre staff were lovely and helpful. There were some activities going on that looked very well organised.
A group of friends and our total of 10 kids aged 2.5-6 years had an absolutley brilliant time!!
D. C.
Lovely walk in the sun, helpful staff in the gift shop - parking a little expensive, only option is to pay for the day even if only staying for a couple of hours. Paths well maintained but the mud just off path is a pain when trying to walk a dog.
R. W.
Fabulous country park. Nice playground at the entrance, great visitor information, brilliant playground further into the park, awesome woods - must see when the bluebells are in bloom.
J.
Good for dog walking. But lots of dog poop around, especially in the long grass. Also, a lot of leashed dogs get walked here, which is frustrating as mine are constantly being recalled and put on leash, so they don't run up to leashed dogs. However, it is almost fully enclosed, with wide walking paths - an ideal location to have your dog off leash (some on leash areas eg. outside the shop, parks and cafe). Holiday activities for kids can be found on their website.
K. C.
Always a good place to go for a nice stroll or picnic with the family. I've been going here for over 25 years. The developments they've done to the children's playgrounds and the sensory garden are lovely and is great to feed the sand and ducks.
G. S.
Quite a short circular walk on good paths round the pools, and a cafe to enjoy as well.
R. N.
Great for families with 2 play areas, and wooded walks etc. Nice cafe and visitor centre and all free except for car park.
J. K.
Very nice park and the cafes are okay. Do not expect any food for people with allergies. It is very busy on sunny days and loads and loads of kids. There is not enough parking so go early enough! Also...you're not allowed to swim in the pools :(
A. E.
A beautiful country park. Ideal for walking and dog walking with 2 play areas and pirate trail for children. Picnic tables and friendly cafe serving hot drinks, ices and food. A lovely day out!
R. H.
I absolutely love this place I really do. Epic scenery. Fantastic for literally everyone. Sensory garden...playgrounds holiday activities for the kids. Slightly harder to get to if you don't have access to a car tbh. But apart from that. Well worth a wander
K. I.
Great Park for all the family. I have a pushchair and found paths paved and nice and big so can enjoy long walks.
E. T.
You just pay for parking. They have 2 kids play areas, a cafe and plenty of trails for walking or cycling.
Well worth a visit.
G. G. B.
Interestingly close to Coventry and Leamington Spa, this not-so-small country park has enough to entertain you for the day, provided that you enjoy walking. Toilets and food/beverages fully operational, following covid guidelines.
P. H.
Fancy a long leisurely walk in the country? This is the place. Weekends can get a little busy but the area is big enough to cater. Take the dog, take your bike or hire one. Plenty of rest areas on the way round. £3 parking at the entrance, worth every penny.
C. B.
Lovely place to visit. Clean and loads of things to do.
Cafe is very expensive, and you have to spend over £6 to pay on card!
There is plenty of parking, but what let's Ryton Pools down is paying for it, you can not pay by card, cash only, most of the time I never carry cash. Coombe Abbey is pay by card/cash and I think they get more people visit there now because is this.
I managed to pay on card in the shop, but that closes at 3pm.
J. L.
Lovely walk in the autumn sunshine, kiddies play area not too busy for our three year old granddaughter to enjoy playing in safety.
J. R.
Excellent place for all the family
H. H.
Lovely autumn walk in Ryton Woods.
M. A.
Nice enough park with two good playgrounds for the kids as well as a few walking trails. However, the café on site is terrible - overpriced, poor quality food - so I'd recommend taking a packed lunch. Plenty of parking space.
T. T.
There is always something to do here, my son loved the priate trail. There are good walks with beautiful surroundings and wildlife. Only problem to my knowledge was the only toilets are at the main site and with a little one can be a problem. But it's still an amazing experience and place to visit.
S. T.
A visit to Ryton Pools can be whatever you make it... A short trip to eat an ice cream on one of the benches outside the cafe near the main car park, to a walk around the grounds for several hours.
You'll sometimes find activities/events are put on or that the mini railway is running, but it's generally just a lovely outside space to walk, talk and have picnics (remember to take your rubbish home with you).
There is a reasonable amount of parking, which you'll need to pay for (cash only when I visited), but it can get incredibly busy when the weather's nice or on bank holidays.
P. T.
Was taken there whilst visiting family. A great place to take a walk - very child and dog friendly. Cafe serves good quality food at reasonable prices. Good gift shop and toilet facilites. Try it!
M. G.
Great spot to relax and go for a bit of a nature walk, busy around the children's park area but that's to be expected
V. V.
The park is beautiful. But the parking is way too expensive. £3.5 for 24h, but it doesn't mean 24h but only until 23.59. And the parking machine doesn't offer change. So paid £4 for a visit. And you cannot pay with card, only cash. Only £1 coins. So...be prepared if you visit.
D. W.
Nice place for a wander. Does get busy....watch out for kids on bikes and recumbent MTB's....they are like flies! Nice den building area and s good adventure playground. £3.50 to park (Pay and display)
J. S.
Excellent semi countryside experience. Gravel paths are good year round and suitable for dog walking, prams bikes and running. Get the season pass and spend every weekend there!
J. T.
Great family place and great for dogs
J. C.
A great place to walk the dog, albeit that the parking is ridiculously expensive but then, the car parks are good and something has to pay for the upkeep of the place. There's a café and a model railway during summer months, although I haven't seen it in operation.
B. T.
Had a lovely day out. There is two parks, kart and cycle hire. The Karting is so fun. Lovely long trails and large picnic area.
J. J.
Lovely little park a short trip from where I live. Perfect place to bring small kids to tire them out, the longest circuit around the pool is about 1.5 miles. Currently also in Ryton woods are bluebells and lots of them!
A. “. S.
Went to Ryton Pools with the kids and the dog. This was during the COVID pandemic and the place was extremely well organised. We booked a ticket to cover our parking from 9-12. The park was clean, fun and generally enjoyable to be in. The girls loved the little pirate bits and especially the area that has lots of man made dens from sticks. I've had to promise my daughters that we'd go back and build our own. 10/10 from me. You'll see me and my family again.
J. V.
Lovely afternoon walk here, accompanied by a very nice ice cream from the ice cream van halfway round. The seller was such a super friendly guy.
S. L.
Great day out. Brilliant pirate trail and two fantastic play areas for the kids. Will be back to explore the woodland area soon.
N. P.
Fantastic location and amenity. Some great walks, esp bluebell woods in the spring. Dogs and bikes welcome. There are further car parks down the service road if the first one is full.
R. H.
A lovely country park with ample space to enjoy a relaxing walk. Be aware that parking charges apply. Currently £3 for first 2 hours.
P. D.
Great Park with two good playgrounds. The car park used to be pay in cash on entry but now it is a normal pay and display car park. You can also get a ticket from the shop of you've got no cash. Also had the minature train which the kids loved!
S. T.
Massive country park with lovely walks for the family and plenty to do with the kids. There are didn't activities put on here during school holidays and a couple of playgrounds for the kids to burn off energy. Great day out.
C. T.
Great place to go. Lots of walks. For children, dogs or just yourself. Play area is very good for most ages
P. M.
Great place for a walk through nature. Nice cafe too.
P. k.
Perfect place for family day out. Nice play ground. Relaxing walk in woodland. Nice small cafee.
T. B.
Very busy Sunday morning visit still lovely to visit. Glad the parking machines accep cards now
B. B.
Absolutely love this place. Great for walking the dog or a stroll with the family. The park is kept immaculate. Plenty of facilities toulets, cafe, shop and 2 parks. Great in the summer for a picnic.
E. F.
Good play facilities, a little cafe, visitors centre and lots of places to walk.
M. E.
Ryton Pools with its two playgrounds is always a hit for families. The one at the visitor center is smaller and it's definitely worth walking around the lake to the other one. The cafe offers a variety of drinks, beverages, cakes and food. It claims to have a vegetarian option for everything on the menu, which is impressive. Not the cheapest in the world, but good quality and friendly staff too. We could only convince the little one to go home again by promising to come back!
Z. Z.
A great place for the kids. A couple of different size play areas. A lovely cafe and ice cream parlour, also offers a discovery centre although im not sure on its opening times.
P. M.
Very nice walk, well maintained and has a shop on site, ideal for drinks and ice creams on a hot day. However i would recoment arrows or sign posts on the walk as very confussing walking around as different routes with no direction.. Water also had blue/green algy so had to keep dog away from it as repordily can make them ill.
p. C.
Quite and peaceful walk with the dog
D. P.
Some great views would recommend the filled in quary /pond at the back, it's an easy walk round, not sure why just feels a little confined!
M. M.
My kids love visiting the park is the the right size for young children, there are 2 parks usually an ice cream truck and a cafe for refreshments! Plenty of fun to be had with the wooded area aswell.
G. B.
Beautiful. Great parks for the kids.
S. J.
Great space to walk with children, dogs & have cafe & toilets, parking etc
G. T.
Super little place for the family.
You can walk, run, or cycle around the pools. There’s also a cafe and children’s play area onsite too.
Plenty of parking and a lovely place to lose a few hours in.
T. T.
Peaceful place to walk , great bird-life . Suggest midweek as very busy at weekends . Food and drink available at the café . Toilets open . Cashless parking ticket machine's .
R. M.
Lovely place nice coffee shop
M. G.
Had a lovely afternoon with 3 year old grandson. Good icecream enjoyed also cafe and toilet facilities. Childrens pirate playground with sandpit. Shop for 'souvenirs'. Small sensory garden and lovely walks. Costs £3.50 payable in carpark.
E. M.
How lovely!!! Thus was my very first trip to this place and I will certainly go again. I've been nervous about going anywhere with this virus pandemic still at large, but my fears were allayed as everything was handled brilliantly, from prebooking a car park ticket, showing it from a closed car window once you got there, to the amazing outdoor space which allowed people to distance from each other. It wasn't crowded, there were no queues and despite my fears I had an ice cream which was was undone in front of me with the stick offered towards me so I could pull it out of the wrapper without anyone else touching it. Then I had a cup of coffee, again all served so once you've picked it up and put your milk and sugar in, you can dispose of the sugar packet and stir stick and use the hand sanitizer provided. I admire them for thinking about everything and the way it was all handled and it's given me the confidence to go again. Thank you to all the staff there who were so very good. Its made my day!
I. L.
What a hidden gem for all those mums and dads and even older.
A well surfaced walk around the lakes and a great little restaurant serving a basic fayre. Oh, and don't forget the bike hire centre.
Highly recommended.
J. M.
Built on top of landfill, the giveaway is the methane gas plant tucked into one corner. Pleasant enough to stroll around, miniature railway looks fun but was closed. Can attract dim-witted errant local adult vermin who mistake lounging about on the kids playground in late evenings as a way to attract a mate. (Hopefully they don't and natural selection takes over.)
A. B.
This is a wonderful place to bring your children and is dog friendly, there are 2 play areas for children and a small cafe for drinks and food with seating inside and out. Parking is £3.50 all day, gets very busy on sunny bank holidays.
M. W.
Really nice place to visit and walk the dog and get some exercise. The only pain at the moment is you need to pre-book via the website. the event brite software that that using does not allow you to auto input your card details. Which then freezes your phone or tablet.
So don't forget to manually input your card details payment goes through ok then!!!
p. t.
Great place for a nice walk with your dog or just on your own. Plenty off parking at just £3 with nice cafe and plenty for the kids to be entertained with play areas and adventure areas to explore. Worth a trip.
A. G.
Wonderful place for everyone. Easy disabled access with loads of accessible paths for scooters, wheelchairs & pushchairs. Only cost is parking & there is a good cafe, children's playgrounds & activities.
S. D.
Perfect trails for casual rides and harder rides. Super clean, nice wide and well maintained paths. Beautiful scenery
S. P.
Excellent views. Great place for exercise. Parking easy to access. Would come again.
F. H.
There are some lovely signposted walks of varying lengths. There are areas where ducks can be fed and proper food for them is sold in the visitor centre. There are two main carparks which are pay and display or if you visit regularly there is an option to purchase a season ticket which lasts a year and covers two cars. Ryton Pools is dog friendly, though dogs must be kept on a lead around the centre hub where the cafe, visitor centre and little children's play area are located. There is a play area for older children on the far side of the main pool. Most of the paths are tarmaced so it is wheelchair friendly too. There is a bike hire hut behind the visitor centre and plenty of wooden picnic benches scattered around the park if you take your own picnic.
J. B.
Nice strolls with a variety of landscapes, good paths suitable even when it's been raining heavily, and a nice cafe for hot/cold drinks and food back at the car park!
D. C.
It is an amazing place to walk round and plenty of benches to stop and just watch the world go by
D. A.
Great place to visit. Lots of parking.. All pay and display. Lots of different paths to walk all signposted. Variety of bikes to rent. There's a small train ride for kids and parents. Play areas too. And ice cream truck

Stunning place. Lots of walks and things to do. Can hire bikes and karts too which is brilliant. Pirate trail and park for children. Very clean too with beautiful things to see and lots of wildlife
S.
A lovely nature park situated around the remains of an old quarry. Lots of walking and cycling. A decent playground for the kids ( not the one by the carpark, but rather the one situated midway in the centre of the park).
s. s.
Really nice place for a walk, lots for kids to do including den building, 2 play areas, cycle hire etc
Paths could do with a bit of TLC
R. S.
Loverly big park with good walks and play area for the kids. 5 inch miniature railway on site well worth a ride. Good for a day out and picnic. Cafe on site .
G. H.
Brilliant place for the whole family. Lovely walks and play areas. Plenty of parking
D. S.
Nice and quite. Lovely for a walk.
J. G.
Too hot to walk far. Miniature railway closed. Kids fed ducks. Shame about people leaving their rubbish laying around. Otherwise nice open spaces and kids play area.
A. C.
Great day for the kids with a pond to feed the ducks, and swimming baths for all to enjoy. If you want a nice relaxing walk there are plenty of fields to walk round also dog friendly.
K. G.
Good place for a short walk. Can get busy. Coffee could do with improving.
R. B.
Lovely place to visit anytime of year, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. There is a cafe there and a small gift shop also a play area for the kids.

Unique place to spend time with family and friends
S. W.
Lovely place to walk around. Can get busy at weekends but plenty of parking space mid-week
L. K.
Driven past here loads of times but never seen the need to go in. One day I decided to go here and was pleasantly surprised. Pay to park then go for a wander around. There's a gift shop and cafe and a playground for the kids. Go for long walks and there's other playgrounds etc. All in all it was pretty decent and the kids etc seemed to like it too.
h. T.
Lovely pools, easy walking
K. B.
Great place for a walk, run, explore with cafe and bike hire too
P. R.
Lovely place ... one 'moan' I'm afraid... too much litter everywhere - many disposable coffee cups and plastic bottles... plenty of litter bins so why don't people use them?!
P. C.
A beautiful country park on the outskirts of Coventry, 2 play areas for children ,a decent cafe, bicycle hire available, great for long walks and dog walking, picnics and more. A great place for a day out with the family.
s.
I've had a few amazing walks with the kids and my dog what a beautiful place
P. H.
Peaceful, pleasurable stroll through the country side
M. C.
A lovely experience in a well kept clean environment. And I found the prices in the cafe cheap by comparison! £3 all day parking, and no entry fee.
G. M.
Great variety of walks, especially for the dog! The cafe was very expensive 3 bottles off pop £7.50... best to bring your own
J. 1.
Even with restrictions still a great time.
S. M.
Lovely walks and plenty for the kids to do. Dog friendly and easy to access. Food in the cafe was nice but the wait was rather long
J. K.
Had a really good walk with my dog. Parking seems expensive, but other than that it's a 5 star from me. Great nature trails, and many hundreds of dog walkers agree.
F. D.
Love this park. Beautiful lakes and amazing views. Contactless car park payment machines. Nice to enjoy the great outdoors in such a beautiful setting.
j. w.
Lovely place for a walk and can rent bikes out which are fun. Cafe there is nice but quite expensive
