Great placeto visit, only a fiver to get in. There's loads of planes, a few helicopters. Some of them you can go on and there was a few that had volunteers who you could talk to and ask questions. Also you can watch the planes take off and leave at the East Midlands Airport. They've got a great mound that you can stand on to see over the fence at the runway. Also has a cafe and toilets, will definitely be going there again.

Awesome place. Never heard of it before despite working up near EMA.
Amazing selection of planes to view, awe inspiring seeing cold war bombing planes up close.
I went on a day where they had certain planes opened up for tours into the cockpit and cargo bay and was open late to see the planes lit up by lights on the ground.
Also nice to see planes taking off and landing from EMA on the viewing areas.
Definitely worth the entry fee.

What a great place to visit!!! Fantastic aircrafts with great history behind them ( you can go into few!) , lovely people volunteering there who will tell you many interesting things about the planes... I really, really loved the place, despite I'm not a fan of that kind of stuff really... 😀😀😀 bonus: you can see many planes landing and taking off East Midlands Airport.

A wonderful place to spent as a picnic, as a place to know history, a place to have knowledge about panes and engines. My 3 year old really loved the pace and the experience he had. The surprising experience is watching the planes go by at East Midlands Airport. The place has free parking but is limited. The whole place is accessible.
J. c.
we spent a great time here. plenty to see and do especially the planes taking off next door. My kids love it. the facilities are excellent. the cafe is very reasonable and the volunteers are all very helpful and polite . we shall definitely return hopefully the aircraft will be open soon .
C. J.
Great Value for money (£5 Entrance fee), with some great exhibits. Great atmosphere whilst walking around with pleasant knowledgeable staff. Great views over East Midlands Airport, and I was lucky enough to see a Boeing 747 depart the airport whilst visiting.
p. v.
Its a good place to take the kids and have a look around the museum and also watch the plane coming and going, it could do with being opposite the middle of the runway not at one end, your view is limited when the planes are landing from the east end of the runway. But I suppose it better than no viewing area
J. N.
Quite a number of exhibits including a Vulcan: worth exploring the hanger to see the Concord engine. Great to be able to watch aircraft take off and land from the viewing mounds. (hint: bring a picnic!)
K. B.
Great place to visit and show your little ones real planes up close before their first departure.
A few of the planes were open to view inside/underneath with knowledgeable friendly staff. The viewing area is best for take-off's so check the departures before visiting so you can visit at the best times to see many planes take off. The arrivals are further away and you only catch the planes as they taxi round.
There is a cafe, reasonably priced and you can pay with card.
Quite a few picnic benches and toilets are available although not used during our visit.
The free carpark is relatively small and was full when we left so an early start is advised.
G. C.
For entry fee of £5 per person, you get to see exhibition of quite a few old aircrafts. You can get in to see the cockpit of two aircrafts. Sitting at the grass area of the Aeropark, you will see flights taking off or landing once every few minutes from within close range.
P. H.
Although there are probably better viewing places especially for watching planes taking off and landing if the planes are landing on the west side of the airport, if they are coming in from the East side there is no better area for watching them, the aeropark itself is a great optional extra for learning about older and military planes especially as there ema airport isn't really that busy like other airports, entry is a fiver for adults and £3 for children..... under 5s are free, well worth the money in my opinion 😉

Great few hours spent here (unfortunately only a few hours as we were meant to be elsewhere) but could easily spend the whole day. Best maintained/ restored aircraft I have seen from any aircraft collection, especially considering all aircraft are parked outside. Quite a few rarer aircraft that you don't see very often were nice to get photos of. If only I lived closer this would be an incredible place to volunteer at. All staff are really friendly and knowledgeable. Big thanks to the guy in the photo for taking us around the helicopters in particular which are a specific interest of mine.
P. M.
we spent a great time here with our granddaughter . plenty to see and do especially the planes taking off next door.
the facilities are excellent the disabled access is very good. the cafe is very reasonable and the volunteers are all very helpful and polite . we shall definitely return hopefully the aircraft will be open soon .

Grate place not just for aviation fans.
A lot of history and perfect spot to take pictures of staring and landing planes.
Very friendly staff.
Highly recommended.

Great Museum even on a dull damp day. Thankfully the rain went off as I arrived. But on a blue sky day it must be even better. Good collection, unfortunately due to COVID the planes were not open as I imagine the big Nimrod would be fantastic to see inside. Cheap as chips and worth a visit to support the Volunteers looking the collection. Although plenty to see it’s compact you kind of walk round in a circle and unless your walking to the viewing area for the modern airport next door your never far from the Car park. A small cafe and shop but useful if the rain does come on.
S. K.
Great place to visit . Young or old. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Bring a picnic and enjoy yourself
E. B.
Fabulous place to visit if your into aircraft kids love it x
T. G.
Fantastic time with my grandson, watching planes take off and land. Also looking around all the planes that have retired.
Staff at the park very friendly and have so much knowledge about the planes, some were open so we could go on board, he loved it and the colleague on each plane was very friendly and obviously love what they do. Very good value for money also. Looking forward to our next visit.
C. P.
Great collection of aircraft, great to go on the nimrod, bonus was the cafe and gift shop
M. H.
Excellent value for the money you can stop all day for a fiver 👍🛩👍
G. H.
Just passing by and was disappointed to find they were closed for the winter months which was slightly baffling when there were patently lots of volunteers on site - opportunity lost really.
That said, they have an interesting collection of retired aircraft from late 40s onwards, most of which appeared to be well preserved. There is a foot path that runs behind the attraction that allows you to glimpse most aircraft if they are closed.
Great location adjacent the runway at East Midlands Airport and at the end of the pretty village of Donington. Roll on summer!
H.
Lovely place. Must visit for all aviation fans.
J. F.
Really good! Brilliant how you can get up close to the planes & also have a look inside when viewing is open. Great place to take a picnic too & watch the planes landing/taking off from East Midlands airport as there are picnic tables for you to sit at (& a hill for the kids to roll down). Has a lovely little indoor cafe area that serves hot drinks and crisps/chocolate for the kids (which arent over priced like some places) & 2 computers with flight simulators for you to have a go at. Staff are lovely & friendly & always smiling & say hello. Not expensive at all to get in either. We cant wait to go again!
C. G.
Great place to visit, plenty to see and a great view of the airport.
This place is entirely volunteer run, absolutely amazing! Lots of history, there is a shop and cafe area as well and toilets in the Hangar.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back when it opens again after the winter shut down!
C. G.
Beautiful aeropark, very interesting planes and helicopters, excellent viewing area and photography opportunity for planes landing at East Midlands airport. Very easy place to find, superb entry price and thoroughly enjoyable hours can be spent here, definitely recommend if you are interested in aeroplanes etc.
G. R.
Made for a nice local afternoon investigating the military planes that have congregated at the Aeropark. The kids also loved watching the passenger planes taking off and landing at E Midlands. Would be massively improved if more of the planes were open for a peek around, on the day we visited only the Vulcan bomber and the cockpit were open.
A. T.
Great little gem with lots of interesting airplanes to see, a great viewing area overlooking the East Midlands Airport runway and a cafe and giftshop. Perfect to spend a few hours with the kids (big and small).
H.
A brilliant place to take kids and adults alike. There are fab planes including the Vulcan on display and it borders EMA'S runway area so you can watch planes take off and land in a lovely picnic type area.
P. M.
Took our 4 year old grandson. He absolutely loved it. He was able to go on the Nimrod and even sat in the pilots seat. Great views of the planes at EMA
C. C.
Lovely few hours watching planes taking off with 2 year old Grandson.
Looked round a Nimrod which was utterly fascinating.
Excellent value for £5 admission.
J. C.
Friendly staff, good small collection of air craft with some that you can enter, picnic tables with view of east midlands Airport.
J. c.
We had our aeroplane obsessed son's 7th birthday party here yesterday. It was honestly the best day! Mike couldn't have done any more for us. (& another man who i cant remember his name, sorry) He was amazing and so informative. We got to go in some planes (and one that we've never ever seen inside before!) The children all loved it and my son felt like a VIP for the day. He didn't stop smiling. The 2 ladies in the cafe were so so lovely too and chatted to us for a long time, making my son feel special. They showed such kindness and patience with him when he was choosing a plane to buy. And one of the ladies gave him some posters too.
Everyone had a great day including the grown ups! We loved the aeropark before as always come here with our boys, but this experience has made us love it even more! Thank you to everyone who made it special.
S. B.
Lovely place for a picnic and watch the planes take off and land. There's also some brilliant grounded planes, including a Vulcan.
All the staff are so welcoming and will talk to you about the various planes they have. There's a small café with tea, coffee, ice creams and such, all at reasonable prices.
Definitely worth a visit, even if just to watch the planes take off.
A. F.
I went on the off chance as I had seen the park on youtube. Entrance fee is £5 per person with discounts for children (correct at this time). I was pleasently surprised at the exhibits with a range of cold war aircraft,(sorry no ww2 aircraft.) the Vulcan and Nimrod were nice to look at for there sheer size, one bouns was the Nimrod was open that day I went so you could have a look inside and it is all comlete with all of its equipment. There is a small hanger there with exhibits inside with a small cafe and to one side is a viewing place to see restoration work going on. Probably the bigest bouns to the park is you can view aircraft taking off and landing at East Mids Airport as the viewing area is of good size with benches and there is also a raised viewing area. There is disability access and nice toilets located in the small hanger. Note the opening times are very limited so please check.
L. G. C.
A small but interesting place to visit and learn about aircraft history and different kinds of aircrafts. Well organized, great guides, very interesting for kids (they can even try some radar/spy equipments). Takes about 2-3 hours to fully enjoy the experience. Kindly recommended!
L. H.
How can you not like this place, situated right alongside East Midlands Airport, it is very easy to access from the A42, or M1. There is a large free car park and entrance for Adults is just £4 and £2 for 5-16 years old. Under 5’s go free.
The centre is maintained by volunteers and they are all very friendly and passionate and like all people that give up their time to make things accessible for others, they should be given the utmost respect.
There are two viewing mounds with benches and a cafe and shop housed in the air raid shelter.
When they have enough volunteers then some of the planes are opened up to explore like the Vulcan or Nimrod.
If you’re interested in planes it’s well worth a visit.
D. G.
The areopark in of the side of East Midlands airport is small in size but dense in aircraft history and exhibits. They have a varied section of aircraft, raging from the VC10 to the Vulcan B2. We went in a private group and it open to the public after Easter. During the winter they focus on restoration and upkeep of the amazing aircraft. Also you get a great view of the run way of East Midlands.
J. W.
Great place to see many old aircraft exhibits and look round the museum. Good area alongside runway at EMA for pic nice and plane spotting.
L. M.
This is an amazing little hidden gem and needs to be supported and kept going! Great range of aircraft to view, and on some days you can even sit in some of them. Fun to watch the planes land and take off at the airport too. My little one loved it here.
K. D.
Great place to visit to watch aeroplanes taking of and landing and also good selection of static planes in museum to walk around.
I. A. D.
Fun for kids. Lot of planes and helicopters. Volunteers were very nice and helping to explain history of planes and their role in British Aviation history.
B. F.
I found it run down (some of the display signs were so hazy you couldn't read them), and apart from the Vulcan the planes were not very interesting. The engine hangar had almost no information displays. On the plus side, inexpensive and not crowded.
R. H.
Very nice afternoon. Staff where all very helpfull after we walked around we sat out side with a coffee and watched the planes take off from the airport .all good
D.
Lovely, informative place. Has a little coffee shop with toys for little ones.....can see as well planes taking off from the aeroport.
D. N.
Great selection of planes right next to East Midlands Runway. During covid-19 plants not open for viewing. Everything else open.
S. P.
Visited here today, £5 per adult for entry which is more than fair. The volunteers who work at the aeropark are very knowledgeable, friendly and are more than happy to stop and talk to you. The aeropark has got a shop that sells a few interesting items, along with tea/ coffee and other drinks & snacks.
The aeropark offers unrivalled views of the airport runway to watch the planes taking off and landing. It also has a good selection of RAF aircraft for you to look at and even go inside a couple of them. Highly recommend!
C. H.
Had a great day at Aeropark. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and will go again. It was nice seeing aeroplanes that my father worked 40 - 45 years ago.
M. J.
Great family day out, lots to see with the backdrop of planes taking off. Museum has enough to keep the family entertained for hours. 10/10!
M. S.
Very nice place to visit for a few hours
M. D.
Interesting museum with enough to enjoy even if you're not hugely into planes.
Loved the airport viewing hill with the departures on a phone beside us!
r. o.
Staffed enirely by very knowledgeable volunteers you can get up close and personal with a wide range of retired aircraft and helicopters. A lovely little shop complements the museum, there are snacks and drinks available and a good size viewing area across the runway of East Midlands Airport. The carpark is free and the skylink Nottingham bus runs past the entrance.
M. M.
Turned up on the day £5 entry, lots of artefacts to visit shame that midweek a lot of the displays are closed. Although at weekend they’re open. Great friendly staff and a few mounds with benches to enjoy the views.
J. S.
Never been before , such good views of planes ! Check out both sides , there is two plane spotting viewings on departure and arrival sides.
A.
Expected to see Airbus first cargo plane which i saw on pics , however its not here anymore. Overall, I like the place plenty of planes. Perfect place for plane spotters.
A. D.
Took granddaughter as she wanted to go had a great time especially when was able to get inside and also watch planes landing bit rain didn't spoil the day though good time thanks to all volunteers
T. B.
Wasnt much to see, might be better if you take a picnic and if planes are taking off nearby, but otherwise it's a 20 minute visit really and you've seen it all.
Couldn't go on any of the planes, they were closed off
s. d.
Awesome day out at East Midlands Aeropark. Fantastic place, food, staff, lots to see and do. If you not been yet, it's worth a visit. Anyone say Vulcan!!!
R. P.
Great visit, really knowledgeable volunteer team. Really surprised by the range of aircraft definitely worth a visit, great for families too
A. P.
Good for a couple of hours but planes leaving are not very frequent so be prepared to wait or go to a busier airport for viewing.
L. S.
Amazing day and some great old planes, right on your doorstep in Nottinghamshire! Many thanks to all the volunteers who make this possible!!
P. b.
Great place to see some fantastic historical planes and watch the flights taking off from the runway and excellent value for the day
S. B.
Looks an interesting place to visit on a fine day. The planes, military and civil look an impressive and eclectic mix. Prices seem good value and fair
G. M.
Awesome for the enthusiast. Aircraft owners arevapproachable and knowledgeable and happy to chat and answer questions. Shame to see unserviceable aircraft but great they are being preserved at the same time. Some appear not to be as loved as others and look vary sad and tired. Would love to live nearer and be able to volunteer to help. Well worth a visit.
S. M. S.
Great place to watch planes take off and to see some of the old planes parked.
s. r.
Fab, great info, planes and plane spotting is pretty good if coming in/out of one drection. Cant see the runway much though so if they land from other way its hard to see. Good value
W. S. G. (. S. G.
Always amazing to visit this place. Some absolutely beautiful aircraft, lovingly maintained by the volunteers. The volunteers are amazing too. They are always on hand to answer any questions, and have a great knowledge of the aircraft. I would whole heartedly recommend a visit to everyone.
L. H.
We have been a few times now and have always enjoyed our visits. It’s great to see and be close to planes taking off. We love looking around the old planes and helicopters and staff are always willing to offer interesting information about the planes etc. Definitely somewhere to visit and support .. take a picnic , whilst enjoying watching the planes - something a little different for kids :)
M. H.
I went to the aeropark with my youngest who is showing an interest in aviation. There are a nice number of planes and helicopters to admire, the Vulcan takes centre stage in terms of size and it's very interesting to get up close to it and see all the details of it. The cafe looked nice and being close to east Midlands airport we sat and watched some planes landing and taking off.
W. G.
A fantastic insight into some beautiful, retired planes, helicopters and more. Hats off to the brilliant volunteers that make this site so special.
E. C.
A fab day out! If you like planes, you'll love this little gem. £5 for adults, £3 for kids! It's not huge, you'll only need a few hours before you've been around everything. But if you love planes, it's a great place to take a pic-nic and sit on the hill overlooking East midlands Airport runway, where you can get your nerd on watching planes take off and land close up.
M. R.
Great place to visit. Seating area so you can watch the aircraft land and takeoff
A. D. G.
A great museum for looking at aircraft close up and its all run by volunteers who are very knowledgeable about the aircraft there.
D. M.
Really good place to visit (weather was good) plenty of aircraft to look at and plenty of places to sit, run by volunteers, well done.

S. A.
Some great displays of vintage aircraft and a good viewing spot to watch the planes at Easy Midlands
S. F. N.
It was a perfect day for a bike ride visiting East Midlands Aeropark. We covered a round trip of 45k. Starting from near the City Centre. It was good to see the planes and helicopter taking off and flying over us. Then continuing on some really good cycle routes.
a.
Excellent place with lots of exhibits, right next to the runway to be able to watch the planes too. highly recommended
B. C.
Good little place to take your little ones to see some old planes, when you have some time to kill.. staff are friendly and knowledgeable
s.
Enjoyed the special late night open evening on Thursday Lots to see for family’s and was good to see the place busy and people enjoying themselves
A. E.
Best bit is watching real planes take off and land. Would be better if there was more access to static planes on display.
S. M.
Really enjoyed it. Extremely interesting. Great seeing planes taking off and landing.
L. M.
Small place to visit. Mainly volunteers running the place. Can see inside some of the exhibits. Really only for those who are super interested in planes. Can watch the planes take off from the airport next door. Plenty of picnic spaces.

Been here so much I can't count. Fantastic place and staff. Go it's brill and you can't watch all the place take off from the airport.

4th July 2020 @ EMA. Felt safe with the ever present police checks.
C. C.
Great facility with planes to view and occasionally some you can stand inside. Good viewing areas, although if the runway is running east to west you can't see landings.
P. B.
Great place to visit with the kids. Friendly staff. Plenty to look at and outdoor places to sit.
B. S.
Great place my son absolutely loved it. Very friendly and knowledgeable volunteers too
J. B.
A lovely place to visit for young and okd and the volunteers that run the site are so helpful.
M. B.
Great day out for the family. Especially if you like planes!

What a lovely afternoon. Walking around the site, enjoying a cup of coffee. Volunteers really lovely, informative and knowledgeable. Also excellent watching planes coming in and out. Good place to take the children, take a picnic blanket and picnic and camera. Definitely will visit again.
C. J.
Marvelous place. A lovely range of mainly military aircraft all arranged outside located alongside the runway of East Midlands Airport. The volunteers are happy to chat about the aircraft and can be seen regularly working on the aircraft. Some days your able to enter some exhibits but due to covid restrictions this was not on offer during our visit. Viewing mounds give a clear view of the airport and runway great for watching the aircraft taxi and take off/land.
A nice little cafe with gift shop is situated in the preservation hanger and does a range of hot and cold drinks and snacks.
Lovely for couples, families and anyone who has an interest in aircraft
R. B.
Great place to watch aircraft at East Mids, some interesting older aircraft open for cockpit visits etc and little shop with ice cream, tea/coffee. Would be even better for kids if there was a play area 👍🏻
S. S.
A good place to go and what h the planes take off and land, plenty off gras to sit and have a picnic and a small coffee shop for some ice cream
T. C.
An absolute brilliant place to visit, I take my grandson and he loves it watching the planes take off and land especially the cargo planes. The staff are helpful, there is a cafe which is bonus which also sells a few toys and model planes. It is an excellent day out, we always take a picnic.
H. S.
Visited today (Sunday 15th August) with my daughters and three granddaughters. We had a wonderful time. Loved the planes and also watching planes taking off from the airport. Had a picnic on a bench next to the Vulcan, which was amazing. All the staff/volunteers were absolutely lovely. My three year old granddaughter was heartbroken when we left... She wanted to stay with the planes. We will definitely be regular visitors in the future.
J. L.
Brilliant day out great aeroplanes very polite staff and reasonably priced
N. Y.
Brilliant day out - wonderful selection of aircraft on display, from the iconic such as the Vulcan to the unusual like the Argosy. View out over the adjacent airport is fascinating, with a stunning view of whatever takes off while you're there. The highlight is the volunteer staff, who were happy to chat and share stories of the aircraft and explain things to the kids.
Gift shop has seating and a good selection of drinks and snacks on sale.
S. A.
First time we visited and we as whole family had a really good experience exploring around the different planes .very nice welcome and service. Beautiful views around the picnic area. Clean and safe for children to play. 10/10
I would definitely visit again . Very cheap entry with free parking.
Lovely day out ,kids enjoyed themselves very much.
K. S.
Good opened at 11am not to busy not many planes to go on can see planes taking off and landing
M. C.
Absolutely loved it - And not just for gawping in awe at the Vulcan..
R. H. (.
Great place to prepare your little ones for their first flight. Some classic planes and helicopters, the famous Vulcan is a must see.
B. W.
Lovely place to spend a few hours looking at aircraft from the past very interesting and so cheap to get in £5 adults £3 children right next to East Midlands Airport you get to watch the planes take off.
S. L.
Fantastic museum with some great exhibits and Andi Peter's was nowhere in to be seen which has to be a massive plus
S. B.
Haven't been for a long time and surprised by how many people were there so soon after opening, but nice to see.
Some classic aircraft on show, I'm old enough to have seen most of them fly. Our 3 grandchildren were mostly impressed! We were buzzed with a flypast by a jet provost that was a pleasant surprise.
Nice to walk around the park, also took the grandchildren into the onsite cafe, that is a distinct advantage.
We watched a jumbo jet take off from the raised up viewing area, that the grandchildren also enjoyed running up and down.
None of the aircraft were open due to covid-19 restrictions that was a shame, but understandable. It gives us an excuse to go back!
Would recommend if you like to see aircraft from yesteryear with the added bonus of a live airport as a backdrop.
L. D.
Small museum with few display aircraft open to enter as lack of volunteers. Friendly but only worth an hour or so.
m. h.
Lovely day out for all the family
J.
We went to the aeropark for the first time a couple of days ago
Parking is good, price is very good, and my personal experience was excellent.
After walking around most of the park we bumped into two of the volunteers who worked there. They went out of there way to show us around two aircraft, the vc10 and nimrod
They were so friendly and made the experience by telling the stories and facts of the planes. I would definitely recommend and will be returning, thank you
J. P.
Absolutely amazing place!
Fantastic collection of aircraft and so accommodating...
Great first visit and will certainly be going back again
Bargain to get in too... Yes its not the same size as Cosford and other museums but the personal touch makes it a must visit.
Keep up the good work all, you're doing an amazing job (XM575 looks amazing)
H. B.
Fun day out for the kids, great that they can play in a cockpit and also sit and watch planes take off from East Midlands Airport
j. w.
Good selection of planes on display and great views of the runway
e. p.
Great day out some lovely older examples on display and the chance to view ema takeoffs and landings
M. T.
Great day out, good selection of aircraft, helpful staff.
G. P.
Excellent experience great exhibits very inexpensive. In a great location right next to Donnington Park race course and EM airport
A. B.
nice cheap afternoon , see the decommissioned military aircraft and watch the planes come and go from east Midlands airport
G. M.
Great place to visit and look at the historic aircraft and talk to the owners. Friendly staff and owners and you can get up close to the aircraft. The mighty Vulcan and Nimrod to smaller offerings from BN and a few choppers. Some are a bit neglected but they are there and not scrapped so for that we are thankful
V. K.
If you like to look at planes as they have progressed through the ages you will get a buzz out of seeing these.. There is a viewing site to watch incoming and outgoing commercial planes too. You can get drinks but nowhere to eat unless you take your own food. Donnington does have restaurants and pubs in the vicinity.
s. h.
great for the children to look at all the old planes and also can watch planes landing and taking off too out off east mids airport
B. W.
This place is brilliant and my kids loved it. Great to get up and close to some classic aircraft and it's proximity to the live runway kept the kids entertained for hours. Great bunch of volunteers who operate the aeropark.
I. M. G.
Absolutely superb plenty of aircraft for you to look at with loads of open space ample seating clean very covid alert a cafe shop and toilets for all. Spectator areas all along the airport boundary. Loved the Vulcan on my visit.
M. W.
What a great find, it also benefits from a small aviation museum, outside picnic areas which gives you a fantastic view of East Midlands Airport runway, also has toilets and good parking facilities.
C. C.
Place like this must be more in the country, for see different engineering solution for unbelievable airplanes
S. N.
Really enjoyed our time here. Great and very friendly knowledgeable staff all kindly donating their time to help the public see these planes. Entry was very cheap in my opinion. Nice picnic area that overlooks east mids airport runway too
J. M.
Easy to get to and very clean and tidy, well laid out area with friendly staff and reasonably priced at about £4/5 each. Plenty of seating area to watch the runway for east Midlands Airport which is just 50m away. You get to watch all the planes land and take off as well as look around all of the historic planes that the site has to offer. Staff are knowledgeable on the planes on site. I would advise taking your own picnic if you decide to stay for a few hours, this is totally accepted and plenty of space for picnic blankets and tables to sit down at. There is a shop and toilets on site so don't panic if you forget something. Perfect day out for the family!
L. Y.
Helped out on the school trip here and will definitely be taking my grandson back. He loved it.
J. &. L. L.
Brilliant!! Situated right next to East Midlands Airport so you can see and hear the planes taking off really close up, old planes and helicopters that have been retired, Nimrod and Vulcan were our favourites, on a warm day take a picnic, would definitely recommend. Very close to Donnington Park so you can hear the motorbikes as well.
A. P.
This museum/viewing area is amazing! The vast majority of the aircraft look to be well cared for, perhaps not fresh from retirement but looking as well as can be expected from a volunteer ran museum. The collection of aircraft is great, with a variety of types represented, some rare and some quite common. It's a great environment to go and chill and watch some planes taking off and landing at the airport if you want to do that, as well as a great museum.
My personal favourite is the Vulcan B.2 XM575 (incorrectly labelled as a B.2A, which did not exist. Minor point, I'm a Vulcan nerd), it's recently been undergoing a full repaint and looks amazing with the correct Dark Sea Grey paint replacing the faded coat which was looking closer to Medium Sea Grey by last year. A few spots are left to be completed, but I imagine this will all be done within a few months. Underneath the aircraft is being resurfaced so you cannot currently go all the way underneath it, again that will hopefully be finished in a few months.
The Nimrod also looks too be in great shape. 10 years on from its final flight to EMA, some electrical systems appear to be running (I saw some of the exterior lights were switched on today), and the paintwork is looking fairly good, if in need of a few of the markings being reapplied (the serial is quite faded for example). I hope the museum will get to this in due course.
Unfortunately due to Covid, no aircraft are currently open to go inside, but that's entirely understandable. I'll be back when they are open :)
Inside, there are a few aircraft in storage: a disassembled Sea Venom FAW.22 and a Chipmunk. I hope we can see these on display in the next few years. I also noticed there's another Meteor outside disassembled and a Meteor cockpit inside, I assume this is an ongoing restoration?
The only feedback I would give the museum is that it would be nice if the rope barriers around the aircraft nearest the airport fence could be changed to allow you to walk between them, it is difficult to get a good photograph of these with where the sun is in the afternoon, and the ideal angle seems to be between the aircraft. There looks to be plenty of room for this, if the museum would consider it.
D. W.
Mix of my 2 favourite places, Cosford Air Museum and Manchester viewing area. If you like planes this place is amazing.
Only thing I would suggest is if you're gonna make a day of it would be take a packed lunch. They do have onsite refreshments but it's just hot and cold drinks and crisps and chocolate, no substantial meals or sandwiches
B. D.
Small, very compact, spectacular views of takeoff and landings. Good exhibits ,can look around some if volunteers are available. Catering limited but not their main focus and done by volunteers.Small shop/ cafe. Great day out for families, could do with a kiddies play area though.
T. P.
Very enjoyable for the family! As well as educational and fun ,you are also aloud to go in a large majority of the planes and cockpits. There is a cafe and you can watch planes take off and land as the park is right next to east midlands airport runway! 4 stars though as the day we went many of the planes cockpits were closed and not open that day.Guess its just bad luck but still enjoyable!
C. L.
The aeropark is stacked full of past planes from the 50s to the 80s and sadly are parked outside in all weathers and should be parked in a hangar as a museum 100% though clean looking planes viewing only through a net fence because of covid..👎
C. F.
Good place to go with kids. Not expensive either.
C. T.
A lovely display of planes and knowledgeable guides to explain their use, many of whom had experience flying or working on board. Excellent price to get in, I think it was less than £10 for me and my husband. A great place to take children or to enjoy taking photographs, and there is the added bonus that it sits next to the west Midlands airport where you can watch the planes take to the air. We spent about an hour and a half there.
T. P.
Great place, kids loved it. Will definitely be returning with a picnic
P. C.
Excellent experience well worth going and enjoy the day
b.
Brilliant place with some really interesting planes, and some detailed information to go with it. Only £4 entry for 2+ hours worth if you look at everything exibitioned. I assume the staff/volunteers working on site are very knowledgeable although none seemed to want a conversation. That being said, they were still friendly and smiley. Also had a very nice tea made by a lovely woman in the cafe.
S. G.
Loved it .not bad for £5 pound each.
O. O.
Love it there great day out for the family. My mum and dad took me when I was a little one. And now I'm a dad. I take my little ones there to. My 16 year old girl did NOT want to go. But on the way home she said to me dad I've had a great day thanks dad :)
W. P.
Great iconic aircraft, although not open when we went, you can still see everything
J. S.
Didn't go in but I was picking up a friend from the rock festival and stopped off here. Had to get a picture. Looks brilliant for the avid airplane spotter. Looks to be a good selection of war planes too. Deffo worth a check out.
M. C.
Excellent value for money , some good exhibits, parking was a bit hit and miss, but it was a Bank Holiday and very popular destination
R. B.
Great place for all the family, take a picnic and watch planes land and take off from East Midlands airport.
Lots of planes and helicopters to see and read about, unfortunately due to Covid restrictions at the moment entry to the planes is no allowed.
A. W.
Is a great place who like to see older Aircraft that used to fly or you can see modern aircraft arriving & derparting from the near by Airport. The aeropark is also well served by public transport. Buses to Loughborough & Leicester & Nottingham & Derby. The viewing area also has picnic tables should you want to have something to eat or drink or just watch the comings and goings of the Airport. The park also has toilet facilities and a shop to buy drinks or solvaneers. The admission price is very reasonable plus it all goes back into the upkeep of the aeropark.
P. J.
There's enough here to keep an average family busy for a couple of hours. Even more if East Midlands is busy and you can watch some planes take off and land. Only £5 per adult and £3 for 5-12 year olds.
M. i. a. C.
Been to visit here to view planes at the airport (mainly) but was genuinely surprised by the number and variety of planes in the museum area.
There's not a huge variety or quantity of aviation traffic at East Midlands Airport so having static displays in the Aeropark makes for a really nice distraction.
There is a drinks machine and toilets, a raised area to watch planes at the airport, lots of aircraft and associated equipment in various states of restoration, a kids play area, small museum area. All very nice. Don't expect it to be a highly polished museum, but it is well kept and worth a visit.
On hot days, and therefore busy days, parking can be limited but only due to the volume of visitors.
G. C.
Kids enjoyed it. Get to see planes taking off but not landing
s. h.
Was closed when we got there but looked really interesting will have to back saw lots of planes taking off though.
C.
Brilliant place for little ones. Took our 21m old daughter and she loved it. Cheap to visit and brilliant for children learning about planes! You can watch planes take off and land at EMA which is great.
D. P.
Nice little museum is this, with friendly knowledgeble staff
J.
Wonderful place to visit if you are interested in aircraft, and a good place for kids. The team work hard to keep the aircraft in good condition and if they are able to open the it up, you can sit in the cockpit of the VC10. Shop with souvenirs and refreshments and a good view of EMA to see planes land and take off.
C. R.
Took the toddler here to watch big planes land and take off - he loved it! £4 entry for adults, plenty of space to run arouns, all the volunteers were friendly and knowledgeable. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is because they don't serve food, they have snacks but no food. As long as you take a picnic (if you intend on going over lunch) you'll have an epic day.
D. B.
Great place to go for a few hours to look at old planes and see how they have been preserved and looked after. There is a viewing mound you can sit on to watch all the plane movements at the airport. Nice for picnic and kids will like it. There is a small shop where you can get drinks and snacks.
Check web site for opening times
K. S. F.
Well worth a visit but more investment required. The volunteers do a Sterling job.
L. B.
Nice family day out and treated to a military landing
J. P.
I visited the Aeropark on a Sunday morning after landing back at East Midlands airport. There was ample free parking and I received a warm welcome when paying my entrance fee, which was very reasonably priced. I was then greeted by several volunteers around the Aeropark who were more than happy to show me the various aircraft. They even opened the Vulcan and the Wessex to allow me to look inside the cockpits, something which I've found isn't usually allowed at other similar museums. It was a very enjoyable morning and I would highly recommend the Aeropark to anybody with even the slightest interest in aviation.
S. G.
My partner who loves Aircraft really loved it it was easy to get in and covid safety was engaged it was so relaxed the people and volunteers do anexcellent job of keeping the place open well worth the money
D. C.
A highly interesting place and an awesome trip out, whether you have kids or just love aircraft of all kinds. If you haven't been, I would definitely recommend going. Ideal to go anytime of year during their season. Full of a hard working team and amazing history.
N. B.
Excellent day out, lots of historic aircraft, including the Vulcan and Lightning. Friendly staff. Look out for the open days and check out the viewing mound over the airport. Apps such as flight radar will give you departure and arrivals, so it’s quite nice to see where aircraft have come from and are going to.
S. A. B.
Lots of old planes to look at and good place to view aircraft taking off and landing on the main runway. Good morning or afternoon visit for all ages. Check first as it's not always open during the week.
M. B.
This is a very nice place if you or your children love old planes . Staff very helpful, good place to see planes coming and going.
G. L.
This small volunteer run museum have an unique collection that is well cared for or under an active restoration.
Not likely to break the bank, if anything possibly under charging, especially given the exhibits and the viewing across the airport.
A. W.
If you're into planes this is worthy of a visit. Old planes in varying states of decay and maintenance. Volunteer run and friendly with a little indoor cafe.
Having a picnic under the Vulcan's wings was great. They have open days where you can get into the cockpits and closer to the planes.
You can also watch the occasional plane fly from East Midlands Airport.
Don't expect too much but could be a good half day in this interesting museum.
H. E.
Cheap and cheerful place go spend a couple of hours. Located next to the runway at the airport, so double the fun if you're into your aeroplanes. We went on a day when the exhibits weren't open to see inside, so worth checking first.
N. S.
Great afternoon out with the kids. Lots of interesting aircraft to see and ice cream in the kiosk.
J. L.
The exhibits on display at the park were superb and things have been very nicely put together. Some fascinating history can be uncovered during your visit. However, due to limited owning hours the park can be extremely busy and gets to the point where it's not even worth waiting in line to view inside some of the planes. We ended up walking to and from the Aeropark as only one shuttle bus was running. People smoking in line while waiting for the bus was another thing that prompted is to walk...
K. M.
We went here for one of their open days and I really couldn't recommend it more. Excellent day out, my partner who is a plan and model enthusiast and my children all had an excellent day out. Prices in the shop where fairly reasonable compared to other museum prices. Plenty of picnic tables and a fair amount to see. The only thing I will prewarn is there is little to no shade on a hot day(unless its under a plane wing), so make sure to bring hats, suncream and plenty of cold water. We where prewarned the viewing mounds are difficult to access for wheelchairs and pushchairs but didn't find it too difficult.
K. W.
Lovely collection of aircraft throughout history. Unfortunately you can't really enter any of them at the moment so only external viewing is allowed.
B.
Brilliant place for a visit and picnic. Excellent mix of civil and military aircraft plus old and newer. Renovations on the go, new hangar being built plus museum displays inside. Great for views of everything arriving and leaving East Midlands Airport too ! Friendly helpful and knowledgeable staff.
z.
Probably visit the aeropark around 10-15 times during the season as we live locally, the kids love it and quite frankly so do I, the statics are great, watching the EMA traffic take off and land is always interesting, the hanger cafe does a lovely cup of tea and stocks the usual snacks and ice creams, basically if you like aircraft in any way you really can't go wrong with this place. Probably my favourite place to go on a nice summer's afternoon.
A. A.
Nice place to visit and very beautiful view of landing and taking off of midlands Airport.
Runway is about 250meters from park and you can view planes landing and takeoff.
C. P.
It is open few days a week. The aircraft are not open to enter but hopefully it would be.
Collection is decent and has great views of airport.
T. H. T.
If you like planes this is the place to go. Our boys had a great time and it's such an opportunity to sit in a plane cockpit. Thank you so much especially to all the volunteers that make the experience so interesting.
A. G. M.
Was a nice spot. Only went to see some planes with my 4 year old. Will be going in the actual aeropark next time looks good.
m. c.
If you have a couple of hours to go and appreciate just what made us great then visit this snapshot of the RAF.
Great exhibits, knowledgeable volunteers, easy viewing for all ages.
We had a bonus visiting spitfire fly pass.
C. P.
Very good had a picnic watched loads of planes great spot to see them take off car parking free pay to go in to see museum and planes
L. S.
Enjoyable day out for all ages.
S. R.
A great little aero park that is still being developed. If you want to entertain your kids for a couple of hours looking at the old aircraft and ones taking off from EMA then this is a good place to go. Value for money to get in and it has toilets and a shop to be able to buy refreshments
R. M.
Love planes?
The Aeropark is definitely the place to be if you want close up shots of landing and departing airliners from East Midlands Airport, but also provides a fantastic selection of vintage fighters, bombers and other military aircraft for you to explore.
Facilities are a little light on the ground though, so if you intend to make a day of your visit I'd suggest bringing a picnic of some kind. :)
T. H. F.
Kids love it!
It would be so much better if we could go inside on some of the air crafts but it was good none the less. ☺️
a. t. (.
Not a bad place but there's never any planes open to the public. So don't expect a look inside the planes for your kids. The sweets and drinks in the cafe are very Expensive. Bring your own lunch and drinks.
J. S.
Love going here to watch the plane land take of.
T. H. -. O. T.
Brilliant and the volunteers are very informative.
L. p.
Very happy after our visit today the volunteers were very happy to answer our questions, my daughter had a brilliant time exploring all the planes and watching them take off. Overall for the price of entry this was a brilliant afternoon
m. b.
Access is pretty reasonable and not a bad little collection of cold war jets with an argosy thrown in for good measure. Sadly lack of volunteers and cash means some of the exhibits are looking tired. Well worth a look and it's only £4.
S. B.
Great place for the family, right next to runway. And some days you can go into old aircraft (not enough volunteers most days)
Cafe inside and picnic area on the hill. Only a few pounds and free parking.
D. V.
great day!found everyone I spoke to friendly and helpful. a small museum but well presented so that the planes can be photographed well. the whole park was priced right, nice coffee and food. with some iconic planes worth a drive for me
J. H.
Great air museum. Went for the first time with my son on an open cockpit day. Could not believe how popular it was, with a long wait to get in. Be aware the post code given for the sat nav is for a local Street, as the museum car park cannot cope with with high visitor numbers. Wish I had taken a picnic, as refreshments limited.
B. B.
Cheap trip, only a few quid to get in, lots of old rotting aeroplanes, a Vulcan, a Nimrod, a Lightening and other great stuff and you've a great platform to watch the jets take off from East Mids Airport. Police presence was more noticeable this time but gives some reassurance. I think £4 adult £2 children, there's a cafe and toilets, I think it's worth 2 hours with a cup of tea.
G. B.
Worth the trip, there was lots to see, unfortunately couldn't see the cockpits due to current restrictions but the kids liked the whole experience
S.
It was nice to look around with my son, not very big, it was nice to see the planes land on the viewing spaces
W. B.
Limited interactive things to do, I presume, due to covid restrictions, also couldnt look inside any of the aircraft. Still worth going & didnt affect our visit to much.
c. j.
It we amazing new planes on display but no spitefire with it amazing merlin engine
P. O.
Visited the open day and if you're into military planes it was excellent as they have a Vulcan and nimrod which you could view inside. Small amount of refreshments available at a reasonable price. It was well advertised as it was extremely busy
S. W.
Brilliant museum. The guides were really interesting to talk too and great to see the aircraft being kept in good condition.
g. G.
Good display of static aircraft not always enough volunteers to open aircraft for viewing. Plenty of picnic benches and raised viewing areas over looking the runway. Easy free parking.
D. W.
Great selection of aeroplanes including a Vulcan. Excellent place to view planes taking off from East Midlands Airport as it is next door and the viewing mound is above the fence. Good fun for 5 year olds and up.
C. S.
Absolutely fantastic place to visit especially with the planes taking off from EMA.
D. H.
Ive came on my first visit today at the aeropark and it was amazing lots of nice planes and a good viewing area of the runway ill deffo be coming back again
C. D.
We went on a community day which brilliant because all the planes were open - even the cockpit and bomb bays of the Vulcan. Whenever you go, theres a great selection of aircraft and it's right near EMA to watch aircraft take off and land
P. W.
Nice outdoor collection of aircraft and helicopters. Whether your interested or not in aviation it's a great place to have a picnic. There's a small cafe and toilets which is handy.
T. W.
Lovely little museum with awesome staff and volunteers
p. r.
Good if you like military aircraft, bit untidy , air craft in average condition. The mounds on the edge of the museum are great for watching commercial flights take off and land at East Midland airport.
J. S.
Well worth the £5pp entry fee. Was rather busy but it was bank holiday.
e. n.
Great experience for the kids. My boys loved watching the planes land and take off. Being able to sit in the cockpit of an old plane made their day.
J. H.
Interesting place to visit with friendly helpful staff
M. W.
If you like planes you will like this place where you can see old planes and also watch planes take off and land just over the fence. Lots of space to picnic and let children fun around. Run by volunteers and reasonable admission prices.
N. J.
Fantastic value. Well kept range of vintage aircraft. Burger van and indoor cafe with coffee and biscuits (no cake, sandwiches or hot meals). Woman behind counter chatted as if there was no queue.
L. J.
Nice cheap day out great to take a picnic and for children
J. T.
Ok for the money, couldnt go on any planes but it was ok. Not good for more than a couple hours max though, so dont plan to make a day of it
A. A.
Fast and efficient service. Ran smoothly and would definitely use this service again. I live relatively local to East Midlands Airport but this car park was the same price as getting a taxi there and back.
M. S.
Great place to see classic aircrafts. The Vulcan is worth the trip alone. Nice cafe and benches to sit outside too. Very friendly and helpful staff and volunteers.
Z. B.
Aircraft from the past restored and displayed to the public by a group of enthusiasts.
R. N.
Anywhere that has a magnificent Avro Vulcan has to be worth a visit, also next to a busy runway. Definitely will be going back for another visit. Nice friendly staff ( especially the one in the daft hat) seem to know what they talking about. Thanks for a great day Richard.
D.
Lots of variations of historic planes, also was able to view and sit inside the planes which was an experience! Visited years ago although I Highly recommend here.
J. “. F.
Great for the kids. Fun to watch the planes moving around the airport. Not the best view of taje off n landing though. Research if you want the best viewing area
G. G.
Great on a summers day to sit and have a picnic with the kids and watch the planes coming in and out. Great price to.
A. S.
Perfect for getting them airplane shots!
C. P.
At an entry cost of only £4 this small museum represents good value for money with its collection of mostly military aircraft from the post war period. The Aeropark is situated alongside the East Midlards Airport main runway and so it is a great place for plane spotting. In fact it was the location for the recent BBC series "Planespotting Live"
d. l. d.
Good place for sunday out. Open
k. b.
Great place for a bit of plane spotting. Clean and tidy, good selection of planes to look at. Take a nice pack up and chill for a few hours. Great on a sunny day.
K. P.
Great informative museum and good viewing area for take off and landings of passenger and commercial aircraft. Not expensive either and can easily spend half a day and then picnic in viewing area.
J. R.
Great for old and young but does need more toilets. Great volunteer staff who are both cheery and engaging.
S. W.
Love it here. Great view of the runway at EMA and lots of planes to look at for a very reasonable price.
A.
It's good place for someone who loves planes.
J. D.
I just love to come here and have a stroll about, then laze about St on the grass on the top hill and watch the aeroplanes cone and go at East Midlands Airport. There are snacks and drinks on site and this site is run by volunteers. I pay to cone in here so I can relax and watch the planes and support the Aero Park. Plenty of old planes with lots of history.
C. C.
Have just started photography so good place to go,things seem ok so far and it's not expensive to enter...just not open all week, but as run by volunteers they seem to do a good job, great for family and kids.

k. n.
Nice little aeropark with loads of planes, good viewing of the airport runway too
V. T.
The aeroplane museum is such an interesting place for families or not.
The lack of a proper tarmac path made it difficult for wheelchairs but over all it was a great day out.
B.
Great place to spend a sunny afternoon. You can watch the planes take off and land at the airport or look round the historic planes on site.
J. L.
Enjoyable day out, good for having a picnic & watching the planes but sometimes there's a bit of a lull so you don't see any for a while
A. W.
Brilliant place it's a shame that more planes weren't open but I realise this is very much due to the availability of volunteers. I will certainly be visiting again. Paul.

B. P.
Nice place to watch planes, take a picnic, several vantage points plus the museum. Go several times a year. Suitable all ages
J. T.
This is a great place to hang out and inspect aviation from yesteryear. Take a decent camera, watch planes coming and going. Take a scanner and listen to the airband chatter.
G. J.
Good view of airport, interesting static displays and a cafe. Make sure to check arrivals and departures as there are often long stretches of nothing.
M. L.
