Played the escape room tonight with my partner and 3 of our children (21,16,15). We had an amazing time. Our host really set the mood with tales of ghosts still roaming the hallways and hinting as to what was to come. You really have to work as a team to work out the clues. The castle is an wonderful sight, especially at night. Would recommend anyone to give it a go...10/10

Just had an amazing experience at the lily of Lumley escape room! Brought my mum for her birthday and we had a team of three. Although we did not complete the puzzles the host still took the time to show us the rest of what we had not completed. It was great fun and challenged us well. We will definitely look at booking in at one of the other escape rooms in Durham. The host although I did not catch her name was amazing and helped us just enough but also didn’t make it too easy which was good!

Amazing escape room, lots of different types of puzzles, well thought out and enough to involve everyone. Had so much fun in such a fantastic setting - massive shout out to Emily as well who set us all up and set the scene with the Haunting tale of the Lumleys! We did their online escape room as a fun way of binding with some team mates. Absolutely brilliant, clever and a very well thought out experience. If I didn't live 4 hours away I'd head up to sample their escape rooms in person.

Me and my girlfriend had a great time at the escape room in Lumley castle. It was a super thematic experience that was all very well executed. Matt, our guide, gave us just the right amount of help to navigate our way through the numerous puzzles. We solved the room with 6 minutes to spare. Cheers Matt!

Alannah was great, brilliant host. Helped when we needed it but didn't make it easy (which is the point), good banter aswell from the host. Nearly finished it but even though we didn't it was great fun. Will definitely be back when the puzzles change.

Did the Lab Escape Room down Durham, 2 of us... never done one before so wasn't sure what to expect but the host was friendly and it was good fun, the clues were a bit ambiguous at times and we had to get a lot of clues, we escaped with 2 mins to spare and we will definitely go back for a different one.

We did the dungeon escape room based at Lumley Castle and can honestly say it is the best escape room we have done so far. Helena was amazing and made us feel that we was part of the story. The way in which you become enthralled in to the story line. The props and puzzles was so well entwined to the story line. Just be aware there is one point you have to get on to your hands and knees and crawl, but it was all part of the experience. Can not recommend this escape room more highly. We are not from the local area, but we enjoyed the room so much that we are wanting to plan to return to complete the others.

We did Lab heist and found it well mapped out intriguing puzzles and gadgets. Many annoying locks however that were not in the best working order and they actually insist on masks been worn duspite been the only ones in a concealed room. However we did find the on duty Staff member kind, friendly and helpful.

Every single game here is fun, exciting, and were highly innovative. We’ve had sessions here as a couple, and with others new to escape rooms, and felt the team were great at introducing new people and supporting more experienced players.

This was our first Escape Room experience and it was the best thing ever!! Matt was our guide and behind the scene superstar and he was the best partner we could have! The clues were great - certainly made us all pull together and work out what was going on and what was needed to move forward. My younger daughter (turned 11 on the day) was scared of the background music, but even she was able to take part and we all (5 of us altogether) had a fabulous time. I thoroughly recommend it and if I'm ever back in the area - I will go again! Thank you Matt, you were fantastic!!! :) einav

Our group of 6 (4 adults, 2 children) completed the Lily Of Lumley escape room with 2 minutes to spare! This was our first ever escape from and Matt (our guide) was great at keeping us on track. There was something for all ages from 11 (our youngest) to 65 (our oldest) to do and the time absolutely flew by. Very highly recommended ❤️

Visited here for my daughter's birthday! Thoroughly enjoyed it . Very mind boggling, but once we got our heads together we managed to solve the puzzles. Only needed a couple more secs and we would of completed it. Gives us chance to come back and do it all again. Would highly recommend it xx

We recently did our first escape room at Lumley Castle, for my birthday, we made it about halfway through which wasn't too bad for a first attempt. our host was fab! very friendly with excellent customer service. We wasted a lot of time on one of the puzzles but I think even if we did figure it out we still wouldn't of completed the whole game. We really enjoyed our escape room experience at Lumley and will definitely be doing more, it was great fun even if we didn't complete the whole game :P Thanks for topping off our stay at Lumley with a fun night :)

Outstanding experience!! Loved the lab heist so much and hoping to try the other room some time soon. Although we didn't get on the leader board, we still got out with minutes to spare and had a fab time!

Pretty good escape room (Lab Heist). I don't know if it's because I've done a few rooms now, but it felt a *bit* like you were plodding along just doing puzzle after puzzle - there wasn't quite the interesting additions there sometimes are. But it's definitely worth going to!

Me and my friend played the Lily of Lumley game at Lumley castle and it was amazing. One of the best I've done and we were so impressed with the company too. Massive thank you to Danielle for enabling us to start early and for being our '3rd team member' you were great! I would highly recommend anyone to give it a go.

If you like the crystal maze then you'll love this. Brian explained the rules and have advice about what not to waste time on when you're searching for clues. Listen to every bit of advice. You have to follow clues which will unlock different things until you find the key to get out and you have 1 hour to do this. Very very challenging. We had 16 seconds on the clock when we finally found the key. Great experience.

Wanted to do one of these for ages (always loved the Crystal Maze, the old one not the new one) and wasn't disappointed. Lots of different challenges to work out, discs to find. Looking forward to going back to do the other room!

Make sure you listen to Brian who is a gent and seems to really enjoy it even though he must have played it many many times before 😊... I would give it a lot more stars if I could 😊😊😊
