Reviews of The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Regimental Museum
A fine museum within the Edinburgh Castle. Coming from Hungary, I was specially interested in the content, because of our tradition in horse riding and battles fought on horseback through the history.
It was interesting to see the details of the history of the Scottish dragoons, their various involvements (even during the World War), and the many aspects of this kind of warfare.
For me it was one the most captivating museum in the castle.
Incredible collection of history spanning many great wars! Beautiful artifacts and stories to inspire.
Really great history, loved learning about the Royal Dragoons and their impact in wars.
if you are at the castle, make a stop here. full of history and will give you an insight into scotland's history
A nice exhibition of the history of the Royal Scots. A nice addition to the Edinburgh Castle visit.
Really interesting, not to be missed if you're visiting Edinburgh Castle anyway

Don't leave Edinburgh castle without stopping here! Seeing the French eagle captured at the battle of Waterloo is the crown Jewel of the museum.
Full of history
Royal Scots Museum. If you like history it is a good stop.
It is short and could be more interesting.
I don't recommend it for children, I think they would get bored.
(Translated) Magnificent Medieval Castle, a must-see when you visit this monumental city, only the path that leads to it makes you sense what you are going to see when you visit it, it is advisable that you take a guide or, alternatively, an audio guide as we did, since there are many the corners, legends, anecdotes and curiosities that all this fortress contains with its many exterior and interior departments. It has two self-service in case you want to have a drink during the visit, it is recommended that the visit be at least 3 hours, if you can do it in the middle of the morning it is advisable that you be at the gunshot of 1. What I said is highly advisable to visit for both children and adults.

One of the many museums you will find on your visit to the castle. Ticket required.
The Royal Scots Regimental Museum has exhibits which include dioramas, uniforms, medals, weapons, drums, ceremonial regalia and silver. Displays focus on the regiment's activities since its founding in 1633 up to contemporary Army life. Admission is free but contributions are welcome. Its a terrific museum that brings the regiments combat actions and glories to life.

This museum is located in Edinburgh Castle. The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards is the oldest cavalry regiment in Scotland. The museum has a rich collection of military artifacts as well as paintings and sculptures.
A French eagle and a banner open this regimental museum. The Scots Grays took it from the French 45th Infantry in 1815, during an epic charge at the Battle of Waterloo.
Museum inside Edinburgh Castle that shows and explains through objects the actions of this Scottish royal defense force since its creation
Without a doubt, it is of greater enjoyment of the locals since, at least personally, I did not know anything about them and I was not very interested.
A condensed history of Scotland.
Beautiful museum with many historical uniforms and weapons
This is in response to Mr Fish’s review. I also served with this fine regiment and have never had any issues going to visit the museum . All you need is a bit of common sense and the ability to use the phone . Ex regiment can call and speak to someone who will put their name on the gate . The fees charged are not charged my the museum it’s the charge for accessing the castle . A worthwhile visit for tourists and ex regiment and family alike .
It's an easy place to pass by, but you can find traditional military uniforms and equipment.
Very interesting for those who love these things
very interesting and impressive exhibition
Celtic origin
Interesting exhibition
Wonderful place to visit. If in Scotland, should never miss visiting Edinburgh Castle and this museum located within. Keep at least 4 to 6 hours for both
The regiment music jukebox was fun.
The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Regimental Museum lies inside the Edinburgh Castle site. There you can learn all about the entire history of the Dragoon Guards Regiment. From the time it was a cavalry right upon the time it became a tank regiment. When you go up the stairs at the entrance you can see a timeline of all the battles and wars the regiment has fought.
A place could learn the Scottish cultures and history. NICE !
Great Museum, well worth a visit.
Beautiful museum!! So many interesting things to see here. I highly recommend a visit while at the Castle.
