What a beautiful and historic setting. As a person from the USA, 200 years seems old! I absolutely love the historic significance of places like this and how they have been lovingly maintained for generations. We came here for a tour and spent hours walking in the gardens and touring the house. We have nothing comparable in the US and the people of Scotland should be proud of places like this.

Greeted at the gate by a lovely cheerful man who quickly set the tone for the day, and lift dowsed spirits, although the weather was very wet.
After an enjoyable, leisurely tour of the grand yet homely castle, we managed to visit the serene walled garden as the rain had stopped.

In one word... SUPERB!!! 6 stars of 5 ;-) 👍
We already got a warm, friendly and personal welcome at the entrance. With the tickets came tips and some priceless humor. The grounds and castle are breathtakingly beautiful and kept to the highest of standards. After the excellent carpark there is a small childrens playground. First you can enjoy a brief history video in an extended building. Then one can either enjoy the magnificent gardens or lush interior. Walk the castle is allowed without guidance which is great so timing per room is no issue. The McPherson - Grant - Russell family history is presented lovely and the building is still in daily use. Connections with Raleigh bicycles, Craggenmore whiskey and Aberdeen Angus beef I leave for you to discover. Let's just say, they have been busy.
This all adds to the atmosphere and respect as you literally walking through someones private home. The finish and quality of it all is very high indeed and lovingly decorated. It's defenitely not an austere museum. Finally there is the shop annex tea room. The shop is nice but a bit generic. Food and drinks (sandwiches) however are delicious of which I do recommend the Aberdeen Angus. All in all an excellent place to visit and enjoy. Admission castle plus estate 11£50p pp. Parking for free.

Beautifully kept rooms and gardens with many personal touches and notes. Friendly and welcoming staff. One of my favorite castles to visit. The lovely porter's lodge is with the walk and not to be missed.

Very beautiful castle and gardens! The castle is well kept and the rooms were an amazing insight into the times back then. The audio visual was very informative. We had some tea , cakes and shortbread too after which was real yum!

Fascinating place, lovely gardens and grounds, friendly and welcoming staff and Laird. Located in the beautiful Spey valley. Good tea room; arrived at 10.00am and had fresh fruit and treacle scones warm out the oven with freshly brewed coffee. The other cakes looked equally as good. Tastefully stocked shop. Excellent toilets too!
