The museum was very informative and interesting. The tour we were able to join was excellent. Knowledgeable staff and the museum seems to have been recently refurbished. Gives an interesting overview of Highland history with an obvious focus on the Macphersons. My partner found it fascinating despite the lack of a family connection.

Brilliant museum with amazing insights into the clan and local history, e.g. a MacPherson wrote the music to Waltzing Matilda!

Wonderful museum dedicated to the history of the Clan MacPherson. Newly renovated and laid out to enable you to get an overview of the clan from the Jacobite uprisings to current times. The citation team are well informed and friendly!

Great stop, especially if you can claim to be a MacPherson! Fun looking at artifacts and the bit of genealogy. Both young women at the museum were helpful and Isla, (not spelled correctly I'm sure) was able to look in their database and find names on my genealogy chart. Village of Newtonmore is small, but charming!

I recently visited the Clan Macpherson Museum and I throughout enjoyed my time in the museum.
The museum gives a full history of Clan Macpherson, over several centuries, using a variety of artefacts and first hand accounts. It was also very interesting to see how this tied into wider highland life and important events in Scotland's history.
The museum is also very child friendly, with easy to read exhibits and stimulating visuals.

Great little self guided tour. Runs on donations. We stopped on the drive from Edinburgh to Inverness for about 20mins.

Very extensive museum about the family and it's history. As the MacPhersons were involved in many historic events of Scotland, the museum effectively gives a nice overview of a large part of Scottish history.
There is an introductory video, a gift shop, guides with translations and countless original family possessions.
If you are near Newtonmore, spend some time here and be amazed.

Displays and storyboards are plentiful and interesting. Artefacts are multiple, swords, kilts, tartans. Excellent content for such a small area.

Well organised exhibit for adults to look at. Kids loved the dressing up chest and hunting for the wooden cat figures. Very friendly staff.

The Clan MacPherson Museum holds a large and varied collection of artefacts and items covering several centuries. If anyone has any interest in history or a specific interest in the Clan MacPherson then this museum is not to be missed. Admission is free but a donation would be greatly appreciated.

Kleine Ausstellung, nur "lohnenswert" wenn man eh in der Nähe ist. Aber liebevoll zusammen getragene Stücke, Eintritt frei und jede Frage wird sehr gerne beantwortet.

Small exhibition, only "worthwhile" if you're nearby anyway. But lovingly collected pieces, free entry and every question is answered with great pleasure.
