Shame the main building is closed but the area around it is worth exploring too.

Absolutely fascinating place - find out from their website when they are next open and you'll be there with very knowledgeable people who can explain it all to you.

Keep finding this wonderful prehistoric site closed.
More effort should be forthcoming for it's upkeep and access.

Looks amazing to see trees just as they would have been hundreds of millions of years ago. Volunteers put a huge effort in to make it engaging and there were lots of interactive displays

I've been before and it's great! Although currently it's only open 3rd Sunday of the month 12-4pm, April to October 2022 so couldn't get in today!

Felt as though I had gone back in time, amazing to think what it would have looked like when the Dinosaurs were roaming amongst them.

A visit here won't last more than 20-30 mins but it's well worth it if you're interested in Earth's ancient geological and biological history. Note that the visitor's centre providing access to the fossils is only open during the summer months (Approx May - Sep) although the surrounding park and gardens are open all year. Check the website for exact opening times before making a dedicated trip.

Amazing preservation of fossilized tree stumps from 350 million years ago when this part of Scotland lay in the southern hemisphere, close to the equator.

A wonderfully calm place to stay and look at the remains of ancient giant club moss trees. 330 million years in the making

Fabulous geological site set in lovely wee garden.
Ignore the naysayers saying it's neglected, they are talking utter nonsense.
Well worth a visit, open weekends from April to october from midday to four.
It can be seen at other times by appointment.

The place itself is a fantastic attraction for anyone interested in natural sciences.Set in beautiful and interesting scenery of former quarry. The building however is a bit run down and requires renovation.

Great history in the city centre! Rather than move the trunks to a museum they made a building around them - where they fell millions of years ago. Come and learn what Glasgow looked like when dinosaurs roamed the earth....

Sparingly open (11-4ish weekends) but a quirky and interesting look at a part of natural history not readily available elsewhere in the city. Worth a quiet meander during a run through the park, especially given the surreal atmosphere of the slot canyon-like quarry.

I used to love this place and it’s so interesting! I haven’t been in a while as I’ve not had the chance but when it opens again after the New Year.

It only opens in April on every 3rd Sunday of the month till August

Smashing spot when the display is open in Spring and Summer. Always good to walk through any time of year. Could do with some funds to upkeep and improve.

Great place to visit, unfortunately it's only open at weekends and for a short time. The pond and garden area is not being looked after. Very sad

As a wee boy I used to come here weekly and gawk at the trees... Now as a man living in faraway NZ I wish I could walk there again. Fabulous place.

Fantastic..I really wish there was more lighting around the fossils though! It's incredible, definitely worth a visit.

One of the best geological sites in the world. Well worth seeing if you enjoy geology and the natural sciences.

Magical place to be. =]
(Can't say the sound of the staff member watching a TV show on their phone was quite as magical, however...)

This is a fantastic place for a wander - feels like you're 1,000 miles away in this beautiful sanctuary.

Truly interesting site just needs som TLC and a bit more promotion so others can get to see this site. Worth a visit for sure.
