Took the tour on Sept 8, 2022. Had a great time on the tour and in the museum. Our tour guide was awesome, I think his name was George. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the stadium and all the teams that have played there over the years. We had the tour to ourselves and it was a very enjoyable experience! Highly recommend.

Ok so if anyone knows me I don't like football at all. Zero interest. My son wanted to go for his 11th Birthday so along we went with only my son interested in football. But I actually found it very interesting and having never been in a stadium before it was very impressive. Lots to see, read and do. Allow a few hours. My youngest 2 6yr old enjoyed it too. As there were a football table and fifa on xbox's and other things to do.

Great tour of the stadium, dressing rooms and museum. Lots of interesting exhibits and great info from Paul added to the occasion. He went the extra mile to find out more info one of our groups old relatives who played for Hearts and Scotland, Davie Hope. Thanks Paul for a great day.

Booked the stadium tour with museum on December 28th.
It's been great. a lot of interesting facts about Scottish football history, about Hampden park.
Tourguide Tom (or Tim, i forgot) was also great.
Had a nice chat with him about German football history and about my favorite club Kaiserslautern. he's really passionate about football and interested in learning about the people's love for football.
Otherwise I would've never found out that the museum director is a Kilmarnock fan who's traveling to Kaiserslautern once a year.
Thanks again. i enjoyed it.

Outstanding facilities and the guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. excellent visitor attraction, even if football is not your first love. Good section on ladies football. One of the best museums, stadium tours and pictures in the corridors that I've been to locally. Reminded me a little of the Nou Camp experience

A first class visitor attraction. Take a trip through the annals of Scottish football history from the late 19th century to the present day. It really does make you appreciate the role Scotland has had in the birth of the ultimate game. Great exhibits, interactive media and very helpful staff on hand to answer any questions. Well worth the £8 for an adult ticket.
J. K.
Lots of memorabilia on show, mock turnstiles and supporters peeking through fence etc to try and create something like the atmosphere of an old style game. Was there for opening of a curling collection being displayed within the museum. Worth a look at the heritage of that game too.
M. G.
Went on the tour at 3pm on Friday 16th, can’t remember the tour guys name, but he was excellent. He clearly had a passion for Scottish football and answered all our questions, making the tour fascinating.

Fantastic place. Rich history, suitable for all ages, men and women no matter where your from. Guides are there to answer any questions and have great stories when they are taking you on your tour behind the scenes of the home of Scottish Football. Also does kids birthday parties.
S. H.
We had a fabulous tour guide Ronnie who was very enthusiastic and well informed. All the staff were friendly and forth coming. Definitely consider a birthday party here for the children.
S. H.
I am not a keen football fan but I found this museum of great interest and was very surprised at the amount contributed to women's football. Curators here have a passion and are welcoming and informative.

This is as great as its known to be. This place is massive and it was spotlessly clean. Further to this everyone that worked there were friendly and extremely helpful.
M. C.
An interesting tour and a great museum to explore. Definitely worth a visit.
M. C.
Really good experience with my laddie
R. D.
Fascinating history of football in the land where organised football was invented and in a ground which is still owned by Scotland's oldest Senior football club.
T. P.
Took the stadium tour and museum visit...So much to see it's hard to do it justice in a single visit...I'll definitely be back!
W. M.
Third visit here with grandchildren. I must have a visit myself to have an in depth visit to the museum.
J. M.
Really interesting and informative stadium tour and museum. Was a great day out

Incredible museum full of history.

One of the best football museums I have ever visited. Unlike the club museums that span around 3 or 4 rooms and have some jerseys and replicas of trophies, it is surprisingly large and exhibits are more diverse. It is not much interactive and will be enjoyed mainly by those who are fond of football history and like to dig deep into history of the game or some of the forgotten clubs (the museum is certainly not only about the old firm) - then you can easily spend here more than 2 hours like I did. The accompanying texts are well informative, in particular clashes with England and early history of Scottish football are well covered. Also need to point out presence of 2 researchers who work directly in the museum, show you around and can answer you anything about Scottish football. I visited on the day when there were no tours around Hampden, yet they were very friendly and individually showed me the stadium! Definitely great experience and worth going 15 minutes by bus from the centre

I honestly don't recommend the tour if you're expecting anything interesting to be seen as they don't put out the regalia unless there is an event. However I recommend just paying to see the Sports Museum downstairs it is vast and can easily take more than an hour looking at each item and reading it's description as well as interactive areas.
A. W.
An interesting museum although I wouldn't call it exciting with lots of Scottish football memoribilia and souvenirs, photos and videos. The tour is quite good with a trip behind the scenes of all those areas you never get to visit including the dressing rooms, referees room, a training pitch under the main stand where you get to kick a ball into a small net and they measure the speed then out on to the pitch where you can go up the steps as if to lift a trophy. The guy taking the tour is quite knowledgeable.

Not a football fan, I was reluctant to visit this place. The boys were too excited and I dint have the heart to protest. Nevertheless, it wasn’t as boring as I has expected.
It wasn’t crowded , as we visited during the week.
The memorabilia were vast. I couldn’t understand a lot of stuff, but could see two happy boys at the end of the tour.
M. H.
Really interesting museum with really friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. We couldn't have a full stadium tour due to music concerts happening the same week, but the staff took us out into the arena and we sat in the Royal box and learnt a lot from him. Very good for anyone even slightly interested in football, would definitely recommend a visit!
K. M.
Really enjoyed the visit today with my son. Very good tour with informative tour guide. Accessed all ares of the stadium. The museum is excellent. A must do for all football fans if in the area.
J. M.
Took my two sons today. Neither of them are big football fans however they really enjoyed the museum and the tour. They liked having an audio guide to operate as they went round, they also liked the table football, seeing the changing rooms, having a go at scoring at Hampden and also going out onto the pitch.
I found it very interested being able to see inside from where the players would be, although unfortunately there were no naked men in the shower room :(
Going out onto the pitch was quite exciting too.
The museum has some good statues that i could take picture of the boys beside. The cafe was good value and overall we spent an hour more than I was expecting on our visit. Also used a voucher to get in a bit cheaper. Went home a happy mum and boys.
D.
Run down inside apart from museum. Still great tour but shocked cafe sold no hot food because in staffs words it was weekend. Thought most stadiums opened weekends but hey I bought a sandwich and girl toasted it . Helpful enough staff just poor selection of grub .
w. o.
Maybe a day after a Kilmarnock defeat wasn't the best day to go. Quite poorly lit, maybe to protect the exhibits, but didn't add to the display. Heating seemed to consist of two fan heaters blasting out. Really felt it could have been better displayed and followed a more logical time order. A bit like Scottish International football at the moment, disappointing.
M. M.
Only reviewing the museum gift shop, because of time constrain couldn't visit the museum which according to other reviewers is fantastic.
The museum gift store is very small with a very limited selection of items for sell, but we found d what we were looking for. There is a small cafe next to the store and serves good food.
Always have trouble with the sizes of shorts.... the XXl barely fits me, I am 6'1" and is like that all over Europe...
Girl tending the store was helpful and nice.... we will make time to visit the museum and field some other time.
P. H.
Been twice in the last 3 months each time. Enjoy 3+ hours each time. Still never saw everything. The tour is good and lasts 45 mins approx then you go into the museum where you can spend hours. Very good indeed

Wonderful history and stories about Scottish football

The Hampden Experience is a must for any football fan. I took by two boys, 13 and 14 along with my husband, a family ticket was good value at £30. The tour guide, Jim was knowledgeable, entertaining, full of anecdotes, personal stories and kept everyone in the group of about 20 people involved. We went in the changing rooms, walked out into the ground and had plenty of photo opportunities. There was a chance for everyone to score a goal in the warm up area. The museum is full of loads of football history with many items going back to the 1870's where football started to become the game we love today. It includes the Scottish Cup, European Cup and even Ali McCoists Golden Boot.
There was a small cafe which did panini, cake and coffee which was friendly and reasonably priced. This was our boys first trip to Scotland - we live in Bristol, and flew in that morning, making Hampden our first stop. We weren't disappointed. 😍
R. M.
Recommend doing the Hampden tour first then you have as long as long as you like to take a look around this fantastic museum. You don't evem have to be Scottish or a football fan to be impressed by some of the historical stuff they have in here. Guarantee you won't be disappointed.
N. M.
Brilliant couple of hours and great museum and tour.
P. H.
Had a really enjoyable afternoon and only wish I had more time. Our tour guide was Jim McKay who was great fun. Thanks to Jim, I can now say that I've actually scored at Hampden (you'll need to do the tour). I can't wait to go back.
P. W.
Excellent place to be and the cleaness. The people were very nice.
A. S.
A must for all football fans, Scottish football through the ages, lots of memorabilia and silverware on display. They also have a great café and the toilets are the cleanest I've seen.
R. H.
Excellent Place to see some great history of Scottish football and world football so much to see I spent almost 4 hours looking around great value for money too and nice wee cafe attached.
R.
Totally worth the trip down to the deep south. If you are a football fan this is a must see as it shows the real history of the oldest footballing nation in the world. Even learn about how Brazil owes its footballing heritage to Scotland.
A. C.
Plenty of memories of my hometown Kilmarnock with a great display for their 150 year Celebration. Many exhibits to be proud of in our football history.
T. R.
Uau, one of the most complete and beautiful football museums of the whole world, the Scottish Football history is amazing and it is necessary all day to enjoy properly the place and the stadium.

V. L.
Very good and highly recommend. Level of heat was very uncomfortable in sections of the museum so we didn't stay as long as would have liked.
G. M.
Visited shop to purchase Scotland top. Young man serving was extremely helpful and suggested a bargain top and there in a couple of programmes - good experience all round.
J. S.
Me and my friend went back in time. When men and boys played football all day with a tennis ball and you never got trousers until you where 15.most people walked to games and players where paid a fair wage. (Translated) A very interesting and informative football museum. In 1990, during the reconstruction of the country's main stadium, the issue of allocating a place on the territory of the arena to display memorabilia and exhibits dedicated to the history of local football was first raised. As a result of close cooperation between the Football Association of Scotland and Glasgow City Council, the first thematic exhibition was held in 1994, and in May 2001 the Museum moved to its permanent place of "residence" - "Hampden Park" The museum has 14 rooms, which contain about two and a half thousand exhibits[4]. The most valuable and notable among them are the ticket for the first international match between the national teams of Scotland and England, dated 30 September 1872, and the Country Cup, made in 1873, which is the oldest football trophy in the world (despite the fact that the FA Cup was made in the 1871/72 season, the award was stolen in 1895)[4]. The so-called The Championship of the World Trophy also attracts the attention of visitors to the museum. The trophy was contested in 1888 between Scottish Cup winners Renton and England's equivalent West Bromwich Albion. In the match, which took place in difficult weather conditions, the victory was celebrated by representatives of the "highland" country with a score of 4:1.
Two special halls of the Museum are reserved for the Scottish Football Hall of Fame and portraits of members of the Honorary Roll of the local national team (players who have played 50 or more matches for the “tartan army”

The Championship of the World Trophy).
