Wonderful little shop! Lots of lovely bargains to be had at very reasonable prices! Something for everyone! Didn't even want to haggle at those prices! Brilliant to do a fair trade! A must see; its the best antique shop in York! Lots of weird and wonderful items. Its a hidden gem above Pine & Oak furniture shop I visit to the shop every time i go to York. From furniture, pictures, books, posters, games, records, photos, artwork and items i can't describe. I could easily spend hours looking around. It has everything you could imagine plus so much more. As a collector I go here regularly and the guy who works there is very welcoming, friendly and will help you out if any requests. You will not be disappointed on your visit here! 5 stars

My wife and I popped in and purchased some '78 records, a gramophone needle tin and a poison bottle (which she collects). The owner (sorry but I didn't get your name) was really helpful and was more than happy to have a good root around in order to find exactly what we were looking for. The items themselves were in great condition and really well priced (another big plus point). We'll definitely be returning when we're back in York (every few weeks) and look forward to another visit.

Lovely little place with everything at a really good price! Bought a display plate for a couple of quid and an Afghan rug for just £8. Will definitely keep checking back to see what other great things I can find. (If you get any banjo's in please could you get me know, thanks!)

What a fabulously quirky little shop! There are all sorts of items available and everybody can find something truly unique for themselves! If you are looking for a particular type of item Martin is always happy to help. I can definitely recommend popping over for a visit, it's well worth it. You never know what you might find!

Definitely worth your attention! The shop is full of interesting treasures as well as larger necessity pieces at very reasonable prices! The owner will help you find exactly what you want or even create it to your personal taste! A treasure trove in the centre of York! I stumbled across this gem on a recent day trip and I'm so happy that I did! So many lovely things- weird and wonderful. Very friendly owners. Will definitely go again when I'm next in York :)

A really great and unique shop. Its a little tucked away but definitely worth the 5 minute walk from the center of town. A variety of items, with real variety not seen in other antique shops, of good quality. Very reasonable prices. So definitely worth a visit!

Love this place. We used it to find some great vintage props for our Halloween event at the old fire station. I have since been back to buy some more treasures and I already have my heart set on some more of the pieces. Staff are friendly and open to negotiate on prices

I picked up some old photography bits and pieces. A real Aladdin's cave full of all sorts of interesting curiosities and you never know what you'll come across next. Well worth seeking out and having a browse and great prices too! I will definitely be checking back from time to time.

BBC Antiques is well worth a visit. Despite being sited above an average- looking furniture shop which doesn't make it look promising, it is more well- stocked with a more interesting variety of items than you would imagine, from old photos, fossils, antiquities and a good selection of framed pictures to more unusual items such as a stuffed sheep's head. Do make it a stop on any trip to York.

This is the best shop in York for finding treasures you cannot buy online or ever find anywhere else. The shopkeeper is kind and friendly and the shop itself is charming, you feel as though in a magic shop straight out of diagonal ally in Harry potter!

This shop is an antique collector's haven. There is such a wide range of items at great prices. I have been going here for years and I intend to keep visiting. Contrary to another review on here, the staff are excellent, very polite, and engage you in very good conversation.

This is truly Yorks hidden gem when it comes to antiques and collectables. There are plenty of over priced antiques centres for the tourists. This however has sensibly priced items that you can still haggle on the price with the owner. Stock changes frequently and there is always some quirky stuff amongst the standard stuff you want to see there. It is the only shop in York I can find items to add to my collections. If you visit once you will definitely return.

I purchased two paintings from BBC antiques and the service was exceptional, I was on my bike and had just popped in to have a look around and spotted the two paintings, I fell in love with them ask for a price and excepted straight away, I then explained that I was on my bike and he arranged to have the pictures delivered for a small cost, Wonderful service, I will be using them again in the near future. 10 out of 10.

Small shop tucked away in a basement. Recently they got a huge pile of vinyls where you will definitely find some gems. Worth a visit!
