Reviews of Belgrave Hall
A very interesting historic place with superb gardens. I went on a guided tour and it was fascinating to see the inside the hall and gardens. Close to traffic free cycle and walking routes along the river Soar.
Historic village in the Belgrave area Leicester, a fascinating step back in time.
Hidden away in a city. Lively as the hall and gardens is welcoming a Jubilee garden party today. Lots of plants and flowers to see. Gotta come see the blooms in July.
I went here last night with my uncle, grandad, brother and mother, it was so much fun! Me and my family loved it and will definitely do more paranormal investigations in the future!
Modest but interesting merchant's house with lovely gardens. Super free tour with Mark - just the right amount of information.
Amazing venue, most definitely worth to pay a visit, has the kindest staff and gorgeous gardens, perfect for an important life events!
Lovely museum with beautiful gardens for the kids to explore ...also large park across the road....parking can be difficult and no tea/coffee facilities but take a picnic
Visited the annual food and garden festival once, the large selection of different stalls with vegan and vegetarian food makes it a worthwhile event to attend.
A nice place to take small children for a couple of hours when they're running one of their events during the school holidays.
Lovely place and staff very knowledgeable. Nice to wander around the gardens and also very interesting looking around the graveyard next-door which had an open day with guides
Fantastic place. Hidden gem of Leicester!
Went for a wedding which was one of the best I've ever been to the venue is perfect and the staff were great!
Great City museum. Currently have a Star Wars exhibition. Great for big and small kids.
Beautiful 18th century manor House in spectacular gardens, which have been brilliantly maintained by an army of volunteers.
We had a super day out for the Teddy Bears picnic day. Just right for young children and plenty of activities. It was a bargain price. I would say that parking needs to be better signed and directed on the website too - lots of us had to reverse out of the dead end by the hall.
Really good days outwith kids. Especially on event days. Inexpensive great for picnics. So much for kids to learn about outdoors. Plants / veg / trees abd flowers. Brilliant layout with different types of gardens to explore.
Went there for a wedding. Staff very accommodating and venue is lovely.
Been visiting here since childhood. House was interesting to look around but haven't seen it in years as it's always a no show! Garden's better than it was and event days are better too, although entry ticket prices are a rip off for families when you pay for everything else anyway. Would be so much better if house was open, that would justify the cost of entry!
I've been to Belgrave hall several times and I've had two ghostly encounters . 1. Inside the coach House. And 2. At the door of the children's nursery. At the coach House the ghost was dressed in a cooks uniform of the day and was explaining to me how to make chutney. The second encounter was at the door of the nursery the children's nursery where I had my hat which I was holding yanked aggressively out of my hand of which my hat ended up on the floor. I spoke to the warden about my experiences who told me after he started grinning that I'd actually encountered a spirit in the coach House. And the same at the nursery
Not only did I grow up going here, loving the museum through the years, the quaint but gorgeous house and gardens opposite Belgrave gardens is basically a paradise away from the hustle and bustle of the city WITHIN the city! Oh, and also, I got married here, I wouldn't of wanted anywhere else!!!
The gardens are lovely, the historic value it brings is amazing, the man at the front desk was so fabulous I loved him. A little sad about the museum being closed but the gardens sure make up for it. Have been going since I was a young child now I’m enjoying it from the adult persepective and I’m loving it
Absolutely gorgeous I've been using the pub next door for the last 30 years unaware of the beauty and history that lay only yards away it just blew me away when I visited today I would highly reccomend seeing these beautiful gardens *****
Guided tour around gardens. Informative tour given by Helen. The tours are held once a month during the summer. Lots of old specimen trees and plants. The hall itself is now used for events, weddings etc. but is an important historical building of old Belgrave and Leicester.
On the days the Hall is is open, it is well worth the time taken to come away Leicester's historical centre. A variety of events happen thru the year which enables the visitor to see both garden and hall. Sadly the nearby St.Peter's church is closed,(being redundant). Across from the hall is Belgrave House (closed to the public), and park with the River Soar beyond. Footpaths on both banks of the river give pedestrian access to the Abbey Pumping Station, Space Centre and the Abbey Park.
Great place to visit very spooky good for those who are interested in the paranormal and good place to see how those live a long time ago and it's free entry ask for donations
Famous for being one of the most haunted buildings in the UK. Well looked after historic building with regular events on Wednesdays for children and overnight 'ghost hunt' for those of us that should know better.
Belgrave Gardens are fairly extensive are run all the way to watermead park northwards
Today (12th September 2015) my friends and I enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at Belgrave Hall. The tour and talk given were most interesting and the staff involved attentive, knowledgeable and entertaining. We hope to return to support another event later in the year at the hall. Many thanks.
It is a lovely hall with gorgeous grounds. Nice it's being used by the public, you'd never know you were near a busy Rd. Well worth a visit 🙋🏻♀️
Nice gardens and house, family friendly events throughout school holidays. Parking not great at busy events. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Very nice to visit when it's snowing. Also a very historic museum about the Victorian era has some great souvenirs that aren't very expensive either.
Beautiful house and gardens, and a wonderful day at Belgrave Hall Food and Garden Festival! What a perfectly relaxing day it's been🤗
Really lovely old house and beautiful petite gardens. Worth a visit.
We go to a food festival at belgrave hall every year and it's got a great garden and space for kids to explore
Had good chemistry event on. Nice gardens. Parked easily. Free entry. Cafe bit of an add-on.
A poor imitation of what it once was. Most rooms closed , the gardens poorly maintained. Knowing it from when I was young it's a crying shame it's been allowed to get into this condition. The Council and Mayor should be ashamed.
Absutely beautiful gardens in the summer months. Its such a shame it is no longer open as a museum or that often
Such a beautiful little place tucked away in the heart of Belgrave. The hall and grounds are incredible, just a shame that more isn't done with the place.
Saw Gangsta Granny, great open air show.
This area is so pretty and peaceful.
The Hall is still closed
