M. D.Beautiful tree lined, traffic free pathway in the middle of Leicester flanked by gorgeous houses. It was built to facilitate the rich merchants getting to Victoria Park quickly from town centre for the horse racing in Victorian times and has always been vehicle free. Well worth the short stroll. The oval is a peaceful garden in the middle of New Walk where one can and rest and enjoy the surroundings.
w. t.What a wonder a road free of traffic in middle of the city. It was quite nice walk there. Line up tree with fresh green leaves. Some cafés n drinking places around. The main sit is Leicester Museum & Gallery. Have seen many dog walkers as well as kids playing there.
