It's just a pretty average tower. It would be a lot nicer without the brain-dead anti-vaxers shouting their nonsense around it. Overall its quite nice but let's be real it's not worth a family day out.

No tickets needed to visit this landmark as it has no entrance. It's just a sculpture, I would say, free for everyone to see. Its beautiful and makes reference to Britain's iconic men, namely, Sir Isaac Newton

Historic landmark of Leicester City Centre. If you grew up in Leicester in 70's or 80's it was probably where you arranged to meet your mates. Unfortunately town has become really run down and in short not a nice place anymore. Lots of empty shops, vagrants, drunks and undesirables. A real shame.

This is a unique and distinctive clock tower in the very centre of Leicester. It is worth taking 10/15 minutes to look closely at it to appreciate it's features which, unfortunately, have become a part of the familiar background to most of the passers-by who gave it scant notice to it or it's features - beyond its clock faces - whilst I was there. It was completed in 1868 so is 150 years old. It was built mainly of Ketton Stone (limestone) on a base of Mountsorrel Granite. It has four statues mounted on it of two notable former sons of Leicester: William Wygston and Alderman Gabriel Newton and two historical figures who had significant connections with Leicester: Sir Thomas White and Simon De Montfort, 6th Earl of Leicester (whose involvement in the Second Baron's War of 1263/64 against King Henry 111 - whom he captured along with his son the future Edward 1 in the Battle of Lewes - lead to "Montfort's Parliament" of 1265 so he's considered to be one of the progenitors of Parliamentary Democracy. Leicester's De Montfort University is named after him). It's a Grade 2 listed building but it is not fenced off and is now surrounded by pedestrianised streets - unlike past times when it isolated on a traffic island - which make it easily accessible. There is an information board nearby explaining about it - see my photos.

I love the clock tower but I was a bit dubious cause there was a load of Russian supporters there when I was going to the market to get some meat from the butcher's and some doughnuts from the doughnut stall I had two doughnuts then moved off to window shop down Humberstone gate so it wasn't so bad

This is the central meeting place in Leicester city centre. Most days you can see some very talented musicians, artists and speakers doing their thing. Often you can see exceptional up and coming talent performing live and for free, but if you enjoy the music, don’t forget to drop a few coins into their hats!

It was nice and memorable time at this place. I have massive gathering at Easter Friday, holiday. Many people many face. Black white brown, shopping and crowd. In the road and other areas funny people was buay to do their own staff. Enjoyed the whole areas.

I'm a regular visitor to the Leicester City Centre and I've noticed the Clocktower area seems to be the place for people to arrange to meet up. There's normally some sort of musician religious stall or something like that and going on around the area is a lovely place plenty of places to sit down and watch the world go by particular recommended around Christmas time with all the lights

What's not to love, it's the focal point of our city centre. If you're from out of town, us strongly recommend visiting whenever the world food fair is in town, great atmosphere I do wish there were less folks with megaphones though, it's difficult to enjoy a big mac when there's someone protesting or telling me I'm going to hell.

A true Leicester landmark, if there is any meaning in such an expression. Marks the center of town, is a classic place to meet, and is the epicenter of many of Leicester's important Civic and festive events. It's a pretty cool piece of Victorian gothic revival architecture that feels like a public building rather than a sterile heritage piece, and I think it adds a dash of welcome colour the city's modernist centre. Moreover it tells the right time, and has an adjacent tree at Christmas time

Great place to meet people as almost everyone knows of it. Situated at the intersection of town's most visited roads (and between Highcross and The Haymarket) so easily accessible for everyone. Can't be missed! If your date doesn't turn up, you can also amuse yourself by reading up on it's history😂

Meeting point!!!!! Almost every one from Leicester knows it!!!!. There is almost something happening at any given time. From streets artists, musicians, those preaching the gospel to people using it as a meeting place. As soon as you say to someone" meet me at the clock tower" you will know that they wont have to ask much for directions if they are new to Leicester.

Commonly referred to as 'the Clock Tower' this is the number 1 central landmark for most Leicester people. For example: -Where shall we meet? -Clock Tower of course Additionally, as it is the single undisputed centrepoint for the city (a rarity for similarly sized British cities) it is a main social hub and usually boasts buskers, religious personnel and street events which showcase Leicester's diversity. Finally, it is the easiest place to start a shopping trip with all main streets (and the large modern Highcross shopping centre) spreading out from it.
