Went here on a Sunday morning (waiting for Prana Cafe next to it to open). Beautiful square and fountain. There were plenty benches around (mainly available at 10.30am) which we sat on. A great peaceful area to get away from the busy streets.

A lovely spot to sit, eat lunch and watch the fountains. The only downside is the number of parents who allow unruly kids to chase the pigeons - kids need to be taught the importance of being kind to all beings, instead of thinking its OK to allow them to frighten the birds. If you visit here, please spare a thought for the birds, if you let your kids frighten the birds, do you also let them frighten other children?

Definitely my favourite place in the city centre. I usually go there in the night and enjoy the soothing sound of the water dropping from the fountain. If you are a tourist, you definitely need to check the Town Hall Square. It's true that it's located right in the middle of the city, but it's a peaceful haven for me when I feel burdened or sad. The changing colours of Town Hall tower are just amazing to watch, the pigeons that come to drink from the fountain, the little garden in there ... it's just beautiful. It's the place that will always remimd me of Leicester if I leave it one day. Also, you can grab a bite from nearby restaurants and sit in the chairs there and just enjoy the view. I usually buy shawarma wraps from the Shawarma place which is right behind the Town Hall and sit in the Square to enjoy my food. I definitely recommend this place for visitors 🖤🖤🖤

It's such a beautiful place to sit and relax. I really love how calming it is. Unfortunately you never know what people are going to be there and a lot of them are...of a certain type. For example, seen a man snort coke off of a bin, about three day light drug deals happen, a drunk man sniff another drunk woman's hair and he repeated the word "lovely" and she says to him "Don't touch what you can't afford". Honestly the place is beautiful, the people are just a mess.

A little space in the centre of town to relax. On a nice day it's normally very crowded and noisy but it's nice to sit and watch the fountain. A great background for weddings which take place in the town hall adjacent. At Christmas time there is always a moving display and nativity scene. Also home a beautiful war memorial sculpture.

Leicester Town Council accepted on 29 October 1878, "a handsome ornamental fountain to be placed in the centre of the land fronting the Town Hall Buildings" which was a gift to the Borough from Sir Israel Hart, a former Mayor of Leicester. It's constructed of bronze-painted cast iron, Shap granite and Ross of Mull granite. Francis Hames, the architect of the town hall, also designed the layout of Town Hall Square and the fountain, which was unveiled by Sir Israel Hart on 24 September 1879. A lovely place to sit and have lunch while doing some people watching!

Popular place to sit and eat. Unsurprisingly due to its location it can be quite busy with footfall. Kids will love the fountain. Sometimes they have events on like Samaritans band, Christmas carolers and Wintery stuff.

The Town Hall was designed and built by the architect of the time and a native of Leicester Francis J. Ha around 1874 ;it has a fountain placed in the center of the square in front of Twon Hall.This architect distinguished himself from his other colleagues of the time for having created his work with a completely modern and innovative style called Queen Anne. The tourist in front of the imposing facade of the Town Hall and of the whole context, that gives life to the square, cannot but remain fascinated by the simple style, but at the some time refined of the whole architectural work. Here you can sit on the benches, that form the Crown of the fountain, and enjoy moments of pure relax.

A very beautifully designed fountain! and all around this place is quite unique and nicely looking. Town hall is located near fountain and it have it's own unique, Integrated small "Big-Ben" like (if you will)- Clock Tower :) if you guys will visit Leicester so this is the must place to visit, and it's quite old historically!
