Reviews of International Bomber Command Centre

Visited on a weekday. £9.50 plus £3.00 for parking so quite pricey compared to similar memorial places, however it is a good charity so didn’t worry too much about the cost. The tour is worth listening to and the films and info very interesting, humbling and thought-provoking. The planting is young and will only get more beautiful as the plants and trees mature. Enjoyable day out. Nice cafe with a terrace in the sun and friendly staff. The shop is pricey also.

Visited here soon after it opened and now with my 10yr old grandson. There's been a lot of updating and improvement. So ... no height barriers and plenty of parking for £3 a day - payable at reception. Free to walk round the gardens, memorial and shop/cafe. The museum is £8/£9 adults and £5.50 a child. The memorial Gardens and sculpture are amazing, well worth a visit without the museum. The museum is fairly small, on 2 levels, but with lots of interactive activities, a really good introduction film, in four 3 minute sections. There's a lot of information and visual effects. Very impressive. We had almost 2 hours visiting, by which time we'd taken in enough information and had had enough reading etc. Great place, friendly staff, well worth a visit.

What a lovely place to visit.
Very moving tribute to those who fell for our freedom.
Goid choice of food in cafe.
Lovely coffee.
Various items in shop.
FREE to enter, but a charge to go in the Exhibition.
Car Park £3.
Free use of wheelchairs, but can be difficult to push on the gravel areas.

What a wonderful place to visit and pay your respects to our heroes.
Sadly my first visit was due to a cousin passing and having a wake with all his family and friends.
The staff are amazing and showed us all great respect and compassion in such circumstances.
They supplied a beautiful buffet which was very tasty with many varieties of sandwiches etc.
As for the centre, it is new and I understand the grounds need time to grow and mature and any teething problems will be done in time but it is well worth a visit.
The views are stunning and with such an open space you feel the ambience of why you are there.
Congratulations to all who run this beautiful memorial.
See you again soon.

Fair price as it's the same whether it's for a day or a year. So many themed events on too. Today there was a Glenn Miller Tribute Band playing with lots of visitors dressing up in 40's style clothes and bringing picnics. Stark and imposing memorial on an elevated site. Glimpses of the distant Lincoln Cathedral in the distance. Very nice cafe with very friendly and efficient staff.
S. B.
First time visitors. It was clear from the start that work continues on the site as the road in was still under construction, but not a problem.
We were greeted by very friendly staff, who explained how to visit the site and what there was to see. This was important as one of the spaces is quite dark and periodically goes darker as old images are portrayed on a screen. Our granddaughter was a little frightened at first but our grandson was fine. Overall it was very informative. There was a very clever animation for children to man a bomber in the various positions and fly there and back.
We visited the cafe, that had lovely views to the memorial outside. We went outside and walked to the memorial that had spectacular views of Lincoln cathedral. There are also poignant smaller memorials alongside the path and the main ones at the end to honour those who lost their lives serving in bomber command. The memorials are not limited to ww2, as there are more modern memorials to see. It was very well done we thought.
There is a well stocked shop to peruse. The staff were really very helpful and friendly and we enjoyed the visit.
It's clear they're still working on aspects of the site, but don't let that put you off, we would thoroughly recommend a visit.
C. M.
A very thought-provoking and sobering place to visit. Excellent exhibition with many interactive elements that children would enjoy. Lots of stories and photos captured and on display. The memorial garden and spire are a fantastic way for those involved to be remembered.

Been a few times, now the place has bedded in and established it was such a lovely day with my little one, explaining the history of lincoln and showing him the brave people who gave there life's. My little one was soaking it all in. The staff were brilliant with my little one, interacting with him and showing him a few things themselves. The exhibition that was on was excellent the interactive parts were outstanding so informative. Highly recommend a visit well worth the money.. all issue I had was the road which was being relaid.. caused issues getting in and out apart from that..
M. P.
This place is amazing. The staff are super helpful and polite, can't help you enough. The monument is appropriate - strong, upright and a reminder of all those who gave their lives. The exhibition is one of the best I have come across. Plenty of interactive exhibits and very interesting. Cafe is good too. Worth a visit
S. P.
Had an excellent morning here for my birthday, from entering the centre to leaving it has been laid out fantastically, the staff are first class and treat you the same, the accessibility is brilliant, I'm a disabled person and had no problems, the whole lay out is a joy to go round. I didn't go into the cafe/restaurant but from the looks and smells its on par with the rest of the site
Well worth a visit
Thank you (if I could of given more stars I would have do e so)
J. P.
Fantastic memorial, well worth a visit to see the spire, wall of names and peace garden with the path of memorials. £3 for parking gets access to this, an extra £9.50 gets you into the small exhibition but we didn't do this.
Small café with really good cake, and a week stocked little gift shop.
Unexpected added bonus of an electric vehicle charging station (35p/kWh) here which was all working fine for us so got some charge whilst looking around.
L. F.
Had a few hours here today. It's a fantastic place have been before as local.
The staff and customer service is excellent. We had food in the cafe very nice selection and delicious soup. Graham behind the counter was very professional and polite. Nicky has a good team.
R. A.
Great experience. Beautiful grounds with spectacular view across to Lincoln. Staff friendly and very helpful. You can do the grounds for free, or pay to tour the exhibit, which is well worth it, as it really brings home what these men and women went through. Nice café, and dogs are permitted on grounds and in the lobby.
C. H.
A quiet respectful place but also a great exhibition. If I am honest you would struggle to keep very small children entertained, but good for all other ages. Facilities are amoung the best and the staff are friendly and welcoming.
J. S.
Spent a great afternoon here with friends. Beautiful views over my home city of Lincoln in the surroundings of this touching & well designed monument & memorial. The restaurant does great food & the staff are extremely friendly & well organised. Thank you to the tour guides for providing interesting information & stories. Makes you proud to be from Lincoln & respect the incredible sacrifice made by these brave men. Well worth a visit.
M. B.
Great day. Just right mix of facts and interactive multi-media experiences suitable for young and old alike. Guided tours available for no extra charge, well worth it. Good affordable food. Quite intimate and a lovely hilltop setting with great views over Lincoln. A worthy memorial to the 56,000 Bomber Command personnel who died in service so our generation could live in peace.
A. L.
Its a fantastic place to go, it's amazing to walk round and read the names and when you find a family name it makes you stop and think. Cafe does lovely drinks and it's nice to sit in the peaceful space enjoying the view. Dogs welcome except in the exhibition upstairs.
E. J.
A fairly new memorial, with amazing views of Lincoln and the surrounding countryside. The garden is a bit disappointing, when the trees grow bigger it will look better.
Parking is £3, which is a bit pricey just to go and look at the memorial, especially as there is another cost to look inside at the display.
We didn't look at the museum as they had no card payment facilities & we only had enough cash to pay for our meal, so we'll have to return.
The car park and the path to the centre has bit's of the membrane sticking out, so watch your step, especially if you are a bit unsteady.
Had a very nice roast beef dinner in the cafe, the meat was tender and juicy and there was a good amount of fresh vegetables. They were busy and were having a job to cope and there was also very little choice.
C. W.
A very informative visit and worth the effort to see the hardship our boys and girls faced during all the bad times. Restaurant was good value and if you get a sandwich there big thick slices of bread lol. £3 for parking which I feel should be free if you pay to see the exhibition
M. H.
It has taken a while to get to this memorial. In a wonderful setting, this is a very moving place . Situated beside an active R.A.F. airbase. It has exhibits, a lovely cafe, and gift shop. Parking is inexpensive, and you can stay for as long as you want. With a terrific view over Lincoln as well.
M.
A poignant place. This memorial was long overdue to commemorate the almost 58,000 who gave their lives during WW2. A controversial subject due to the switch to bombing German cities under 'Bomber' Harris so the memorial is also for those who lost their lives to the bombing. The exhibition is interesting but overpriced although with somewhere like this I don't mind spending the money. Fantastic views from the memorial to Lincoln cathedral only add to the ambience.
A. B.
Very good visit. The staff there have a passion for the place whether they served in bomber command or not. Barry, the guide I had, was very knowledgeable about the place and was full of trivia about everything, and could answer all the questions posed. There is parking food and a gift shop available. Allow a good 3 hours for a comprehensive visit.
R. P.
Incredible visit. Free tour included which is highly recommended as you learn stories of some of the amazing people and history of Bomber Command. Learnt so much. Exhibition a real eye-opener. Cafe serves great food at good price. Staff really friendly and helpful.
M. V.
Excellent visit attraction celebrating our aviation history and our WW2 veterans. Great Team and good quality food. Small fee for parking but not limited to how long you stay. Visit for a late breakfast. Good quality food and not stupid prices.
J. S.
Great place. Very interesting Museum very good history information. Plus free 40's music swing dancers, brilliant totally enjoyed the whole experience.
D. B.
Amazing place to visit, so humbling to see so many names to the fallen and loving tributes from friends and family remembering them.
Really interesting free tours by volunteers and an interactive exhibition detailing experiences of airmen and women and civilians during wartime.
The restaurant is lovely, can get busy, a great selection of hot and cold foods and very reasonably priced my party of 3 had a snack and drinks for around £20.
A nice gift shop on site with toys for the kids and a range of books and replica artefacts for adults, all which help with the IBCC stay open hopefully forever as to remember the men and women of bomber command.
R. B.
Amazing views, really interesting. The staff was very informative. We had breakfast in the cafe which was good quality and just enough food for me. R x
D. B.
A great place to visit: informative, interesting, reflective. On the day of visit there was also a vintage car rally taking place, which unfortunately detracted from the memorial, as there was a burger stall serving over the memorial plaques, which I didn't think appropriate. Also, afternoon tea that had previously been booked for us had to be cancelled, without prior communication, again, due to the event happening - it would have been nice to have been informed of this beforehand.
The museum and memorial grounds were excellent (apart from the distraction of the event). I will return, but will check to ensure there's nothing happening to detract from the real reason for the visit.
M. S.
Fascinating place. Everything is well considered and well presented. The free tours are excellent, the guides very knowledgeable. And the restaurant serves excellent food at good prices. Thoroughly enjoyed it
D. C.
Very good display of the history of the brave who gave and those who stayed behind. Nice shop and cafe and regular guided tours of the memorial.
Excellent disabled access throughout although a few pebbles had slipped onto the disabled car park area which are troublesome under wheels.
M. C.
Extremely interesting, moving and thought provoking. Much to learn about this important part of history. It also doesn't glamorise war but shows the conflict, circumstances and devastation it caused from both sides.
E. E.
Very friendly and helpful lady at Reception. The exhibition is very impressive and explains everything from many points of view both allied and Axis as well as from the military and civilian points of view.
The memorial and gardens are also impressive. We'll worth a visit.
S.
This place offers a very moving, yet inspirational experience.
The staff are utterly fabulous and the guide (Stephen) was incredibly knowledgeable and added huge breadth to our visitor experience.
My dad had mobility needs and the staff were so helpful and considerate.
The cafe has the nicest cheese scones l have ever tasted too !
G. C.
Nice place, not as big as expected, with some work to complete the site.
Cheap cost to enter and the food in the cafe was superb and not expensive.
A. G.
Excellent breakfast, then had a free guided tour, very knowledgeable guide an emotional visit as my father was in Bomber Command, luckily he was never shot down, well worth a visit and to pay respects.
I. J.
A very good museam with very welcoming and polite staff. A marvelous and fitting memorial to the men of RAF Bomber Command who flew from Lincolnshire, and very many of them never returned. Well worth a visit.
L. G. (. e.
Lovely place to reflect for an hour or so in the memorial gardens. Great view over to Lincoln Cathedral. Had dog with us so didn't get to visit the exhibition. Gift shop had lots of nice items. Cafe spacious with indoor & outdoor seating. Nice selection of snacks, drinks and meals. Staff were really friendly. Everywhere clean and well maintained. Definitely worth a visit.
M. F.
Interesting! The only charge was £3 to park! Could not resist reflection from Anderson shelter and worms eye view inside monument to wingspan of Lancaster Bomber!
S. C.
We had booked to go today and afternoon tea. On arrival there was an event on which was not published therefore hardly any car park spaces were available. As disabled and having a blue badge was told there are no spaces due to the event. On entry to the exhibition was told to inform the cafe about afternoon tea. Was informed by the cafe that afternoon tea had been cancelled as they don’t do them on a Sunday. Not a great start. On a positive note the exhibition was small it was informative and the gardens sherd peaceful
M. L.
Fabulous place to visit it has the 40th anniversary display for the Falklands conflict at the moment. All the staff there are so helpful, friendly and kind thank you.
J. F.
This place is extremely well put together. The path down to the actual memorial is lined on one side with the names of the dead. These tiles have breaks to allow people through without having to step over the names, a nice touch. Then comes the actual memorial where the names of nearly 50,000 airmen and support personnel killed during WW2 are deeply embossed in iron, inside the centre there is a touch screen database which allows you to trace the name of a lost ancestor and find out a little about them. There is also currently an interactive exhibition where you can listen to the actual words of servicemen, and women.
The whole experience brought a tear to my eye, or was it the bitterly cold wind.
If you don't already know, the spire is the same hight as the width of the wing span on a Lancaster bomber. If you have the slightest interest, then a visit is a must and with a cafe and gift shop on sight, so you can stay all day should you so desire.
L. R.
First ever visit to the International Bomber Command, parking was not over bearing its £3 to park all day which you pay at reception when you go to purchase tickets if you wish to visit the exhibition
Cafe on site which was not busy, I had a salt and Pepper chicken wrap which came with salad, coleslaw and crisps and an cranberry scone with cream and jam and to wash it down a Dandelion and Baldock mmmm
Little visitors shop not over priced and some bits that I know my brother would like, also a little area for children to do bracelets with beads which spells there name in morse code
The exhibits room was good and informative and I managed to find my name on the names listed around the spire
Overall a nice little day out there us a pub at the end of the driveway in or some green space outside to have a little picnic
Overall a nice day
M. R.
A fantastic tribute to the brave aircrew who lost their lives during WW2. Very emotional and humbling. Everyone should visit this wonderful place.
D. T.
I was there for the Royal British Legion Centenary event and was amazed. I have been before but not for a while and to be greeted at the entrance by the Holland drop memorial with the Lancaster and poignant figures reaching out was amazing. The view from the memorial is fantastic looking towards the city and Lincoln Cathedral. There were guided tours going on throughout the day with very interesting, informative and friendly staff. Well done to all involved in this fantastic memorial. Can't wait to go again.
G.
A #quality place to come and reflect upon man’s folly’s and the sometimes necessary price that we have to pay for freedom
A special thank you to my guide Paul (ex Police and an enthusiastic volunteer)
The café provided a warm and friendly venue with good food and a great selection of beverages
What a brilliant exhibition and experience
Thank you to everyone
C. B.
Visited here for a day on for my husbands birthday. He is very much interested in this period of history. He was always astounded that these young men were never given any recognition for their sacrifice doing such a difficult job. This place is not a museum, but an exhibition and memorial to those involved. It was poignant and it was also interesting, much to read, cinema footage, interactive stories, a memorial, a nice cafe and shop. We enjoyed it very much. There are guides who give short tours around outside, and I found the information very interesting and informative, plus moments of humour. We were there for 4 hours, but many say it's about a 2 hour visit. Depends if you stay to eat and then browse around awhile, which we did. We were glad we visited, and happy that these people were finally given the recognition they deserved, even though it should have been done many years ago, whilst survivors were still with us.
J. W.
Very poignant, emotional visit. Only opened this century. Go on a tour and hear stories behind names you see.... fascinating.
L. W.
Absolutely fantastic memorial. With a view towards Lincoln Cathedral you feel a sense of calm there. The guided tour is highly recommend as they tell you some amazing stories about the people who lost their lives during the war.
The staff a very friendly, there is a lovely little cafe there and some great exhibitions.
Worth a morning or afternoon visit.
Thoroughly recommend. *****
J. M.
We spent a lovely two hours here. The grounds and memorials are well kept and obviously an ongoing project. The food in the cafe is reasonably priced and delicious. The staff are helpful and friendly. You can take dogs in to the reception area, gardens and cafe, but not into the exhibition. My husband and daughter spent an hour in the exhibition and said it was very informative and interesting. I sat on one of the many benches with the dog and enjoyed the calming and reflective atmosphere. I would highly recommend a visit here.
H. G.
A highly interesting and emotive few hours made very real by an excellent free guided tour. The displays were interactive and atmospheric which added to the overall experience. Both the museum and cafe were extremely clean, tidy and well presented with staff that were very helpful, polite and keen to help. Thoroughly enjoyed my day here - Thank-you.
N. A.
The sausage roll is delicious. And the interactive bomber display was very good for all ages
L. B.
Quite a poignant place to go. The memorial is impressive and the interactive room was worth exploring. The tour guide, Trevor, was the highlight of the day though.
P. S.
Attended a charity evening in aid of Can er Research and RAF Benevolent Fund. Excellent facilities and coffee in cafe really nice.
A great evening had by all and congratulations on a superb presentation by The RAF Typhoon Display Team 2021 delivered by FT LT James Sainty.
N. H.
We visited this wonderful memorial today and thoroughly recommend it to all ages. The staff were very helpful and polite and our guide on the the tour was so interesting and knowledgeable. Although he had probably done these tours lots of times he made it seem fresh and interesting to us. The displays in the exhibition are well worth a visit with lots to interest all ages. If you are in the area please do visit and pay your respects.
z. p.
Such a lovely place of remberence beautiful 3 pounds parking free to enter but lot's of other activities that you pay for would book these in advance
A. H.
Visited the Falklands tribute at the International Bomber Command Center today. Amazing - very moving, well worth a visit.
R. F.
What a wonderful memorial! Many thanks to Roger our free guide for bringing several extra layers of detail that we wouldn't have achieved walking around by ourselves! Graphics are brilliant inside and paint a picture that is memorable to say the least. Certainly will be returning later in the year with our yearly ticket. Café was exceptional. Brilliant day - thank you!
C. 1.
Brilliant informative museum. A little expensive but well worth a visit.
H. D.
Great place to visit. More information than museum but very informative.
I. M.
Very modern exhibition, all the interactive exhibits worked. I thought the information films were a bit thin on information but the interactive theatre performance was informative. The memorial with all the names of the dead, was very moving and really brings into perspective the number of very young people who lost their lives. The café has excellent staff and delicious food.
S. L.
Second only to the National arboretum for a moving experience to honour the bravery of our past servicemen and women.
S. B.
Although we didn't see everything it was great to wander around the remembrance site and eat in the Restaurant. We will definitely book to have a guided tour and visit the museum.
R. M.
A truly humbling and poignant experience. A wonderful visitor centre which commemorates those brave service personnel of Bomber Command and supporting staff who lost their lives in WW2. Thought provoking exhibits including an interactive tabletop depiction of a bombing raid where visitors take on the role of members of an aircrew! I was Bomb Aimer. Needless to say, our operation didn't go to plan. There was a truly awesome exhibit showing the timeline of air operations during WW2 which shows the true impact of war spreading across the world. Horrifying but you need to spare 10 minutes to see it unfurl before your eyes.
On a much lighter note, they have an excellent cafe serving breakfast, lunch, cakes, teas etc. Good range of related gifts. Take a tour around the grounds to see the walls displaying the names of those who are honoured. Very informative tour with highly knowledgeable guides. Thank you Rob. We will definitely return to learn more.
P. F.
Staff very cheerful and helpful. Well designed auditorium, very interesting and informative throughout. Cafe does a large selection of food......well presented and tasty. Excellent value for money overall.
A. H.
Excellent guide Neil thank you
We bought our own poppies to put on the wall with our named relatives who both served in bomber command to pay our respects.
Shop was very nice too lots of interesting things for all ages.
All staff very friendly only disappointment was no lunch in cafe otherwise a very nice day here
Everything spotless as it should be so a very big thank you to everyone involved
D. F.
Fantastic memorial. So calm and peaceful- time to reflect and recognise the sacrifices made by so many. Very courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and passionate staff. Well maintained facilities.
J. M.
An educational place, full of history, nostalgia and remembrance. As one might expect, it's dedicated to the lives of those fallen, but what I didn't expect was a well set out detailing of each RAF bomber base in Lincolnshire with some surprises along the way. Cafe has a very good range of food, the loos are clean, and the staff friendly. An enjoyable few hours.
A. G.
An excellent memorial to the men and boys who lost their lives serving their country.
We will remember them
P. H.
Car Park a bit dusty so don't clean the car before you go. Car park fees are paid inside reception. We'll laid out, cafe first class, video exibits are amazing, upstairs is more items. Outside is the iron spire and all the plaques with the name's of the fallen. A great memorial site and well worth the visit.
L. C.
Great tour guide who really added to our experience. The gardens and memorial are peaceful & thought provoking. The exhibition was full of information, real life stories and varied perspectives. All the staff were friendly & helpful and the café fab too.
S. L.
What a wonderful place. It is so evident that a great deal of time and effort has been put into the centre. Many thanks to our volunteer guide today, for both his guided tour and for offering a poppy to place in the wall. It was incredibly touching to find a relative of mine's name on the wall. Thank you for all the work that you do!
W. R.
Been wanting to go here for a little while and finally got the chance recently. The exhibition is superb, with the actors on the videos especially realistic.
But when we walked up to the plaques with all the names on, I'm not ashamed to say that I cried (I am a 60 year old man) - to see all those plaques, each with hundreds of names on just hits you so hard! Each one with their own history and story.
It's like visiting the WW1 cemeteries in Belgium - same impact.
Absolutely amazing.
T. C.
A great tribute to the people who have raised the money to build this memorial. No state support has been paid and it has been built by public donation. A wonderful memorial to all the brave young men and by women who gave their lives. It was wonderful to see my Uncles name on the memorial as he was shot down over France and his body was never recovered.
G. F.
Very interesting, great interactive displays, very moving monument remembrance garden.... nice coffee in the cafe
T. I.
Important place to vist for all those interested in WW II history.
Small museum but has interesting artefacts about oerations during the war. Parking avaialable, normally £3 charge for support of the museum.
M. P.
Most interesting place we have been this year guide was expert on facts found an uncle on the walls of remembrance.
R. H.
This was a very moving experience. The centre is simple in design but with the aid of modern technology presents a very poignant picture of the horrors of war coupled with the unbelievable statistic that only 25% of Allied forces bomber crew members survived. Let us not forget that in Bomber Command all air crew were volunteers!
The shop has an excellent range of products to suit all ages so well worth a visit.
They have a good cafe with a nice selection of meals at sensible prices.
All staff were friendly and helpful.
Finally, a walk down to the memorial a simple structure towering some 102 feet, the tip to tip wingspan of a Lancaster heavy bomber. This surrounded by panels structured alphabetically showing the names of those 57205 air crew who gave up their lives. This is all set in a grassed area where the planted trees map out the Lincolnshire airfields of that time.
A most moving visit and if it's not too crowded a very peaceful experience.
C. N.
Great way to spend a few hours, an amazing building.
The food in the cafe was very reasonable and looked great.
S. M.
Review of café only - - I visited with some work colleagues for some breakfast at the cafe before we got to work. The staff are friendly and they have a good selection to choose from. The is seating both outside and inside. The room, tables and cutlery were clean. Everyone enjoyed their food and we would definitely return and recommend others to eat there if visiting the memorial or even just passing by.
G. B.
First visit today, wish we had done it sooner. The free tour was great, our guide was very good with telling us interesting facts.
Lunch was great plus nice coffee too.
B. H.
Fantastic place to visit. Had a marvellous guide who didn't simply recite the history and information to us, but also had a great sense of humour. We learnt a lot during this visit. Particularly enjoyed the activities in the exhibition area, well worth paying for entry. Cafe has scrumptious cakes, but also does hot food.We however were tempted by the cakes and can highly recommend the orange and lemon ake, also the spiced fruit cake.
S. H.
What a great place, learnt so much and it's interactive for the kids and adults as well. The volunteer tour guides are so knowledgeable, we had Ray a true gem. A bonus is a fantastic cafe which is very reasonable.
P. M.
Great place to visit, staff are welcoming and knowledgeable
D. Y.
Top place, great guides/staff, we will remember them
I. D.
The memorial is beautifully designed and executed. My stepson cried when I showed him the photos I took of the memorial and his grandfather’s name, a brave and good man neither he nor his father knew. The displays were spot on for the memorial - it’s not a museum and doesn’t try to be - and the cafe was excellent. Pop in if you’re passing and think of all the talented volunteers who risked their lives and suffered, over 57,000 of our bravest and best dying, so we could live safe from tyranny.
K. B.
Great place to visit, loads of information and real film on how it was to be a part of the bomber crew during WW2. We also joined a spoken tour which was fantastic, the gentleman who took us round was very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. Also has a great cafe!
D. N.
Staff so friendly and helpful. Really knowledgeable and eager to answer any questions you want to ask. The cafe is fabulous. Fantastic food at reasonable prices and all freshly made. Highly recommended
C. T.
What a place they have put a lot of thought into this place to remember all our fallen men and women
D. W.
Lovely informative memorial. Cafe was nice and excellent helpful employees.
C. B.
Brilliant, guided tour, ideal for mobility scooters wheel chair
J. B.
A very interesting place of Important local/ International wartime history to visit. Very informative, makes One Proud to be born in the area that played such an integral part of the war effort. You cannot help but feel Pride and Admiration for Each Individual who served within "Bomber Command" regiment. God Bless You ALL And THANKYOU.
A. B.
Lovely memorial. FREE entry but not to the exhibition. £3 for day parking which goes towards maintaining the grounds. Lots of names of lost ones and inside you can type in the name and find out a lot more about the individual.
Gift shop is here and also a cafe. Also appears to be a marque for weddings/celebrations available.
Not fun for kids
S. F.
Fantastic memorial to Bomber Command. Tells the history and story of Bomber Command inside the visitor centre. Memorial is very impressive, the same size as the wingspan of a Lancaster Bomber. Names of Airmen lost surround the steel monument. Lots of names...... Lovely view of Lincoln Cathedral too.
M. R.
An amazing place.... Take the free guided tour of the memorial as it was super interesting and made our visit (Thank You to our guide Andrew Radforth)... Highly recommended a visit to the IBCC to remember and respect these very special airmen.
P. K.
Excellent, friendly knowledgeable staff, tours are available and in order to benefit from the full experiance of the facility I would recommend taking the tour. Café is clean staff are nice. The centre is interesting, entertaining, educational and beautifull. We'll worth a visit you will need 1.5 to 3hrs to enjoy and relax, good parking and facilities.
P. C.
It's such a fabulous place. They are dedicated to remembering and keeping alive the history of WW2. It's special and spiritual. The staff can't do enough to help you. Amazing experience.
R.
The centre itself is very interesting... in particular, the two level museum display.
A word a caution about the cafe though. Generally, it's expensive and I can't recommend the Wads (Large sandwiches). Consists of two VERY thick pieces of bread with minimal filling. An inch and three quarters of bread and minimum egg mayonnaise. Expensive mistake at £6.95
S. W.
Really interesting and humbling place to visit, seeing the memorials to all the brave people who gave their lives keeping our country safe. The staff were wonderful and the food was lovely.🙂👍
C. C.
Excellent place. The staff are so helpful and patient, the food is lovely and the exhibits and memorials exceptional. Would love to visit again.
A. B.
Amazing experience, take the free guided tour lasts just under an hour but very informative and I found out so much more than I would of just walking g round on our own. Highly recommended
K. H.
Good venue, location, great view over Lincoln. The hisory it records and reminds us of is important Lest We Forget. We need to remember what people went through just a few decades ago
R. S.
Very nice museum 👌stunning Lincoln view 👏
W. C.
Great place. Went to their "wings and wheels" event. Lots of lovely cars. The cafe did a really nice cheap meal too.
S. S.
Very poignant, the exhibition is OK, just nor very personal, but about time the aircrew had a permanent memorial, the gardens and plaques should bring a tear to your eye. The cafe is very good and reasonably priced, its just lacking something, cant quite put my finger on it, hence 4 star's
C. H.
Such a moving experience to walk among the names of all those selfless people who didn’t come home again.
I. B.
Scored it down as I thought there was more that could have been excluded, however this is a memorial and not a museum.
Outside the memorial gardens are still young but in time will be splendid, the metal walls with the names of those who were lost during the second World War in bomber command is staggering and very moving when you stop to take it all in.
I was amazed when I heard that the hight of the spire was the same width as a Lancasters wings, I have seen the Lancaster close up and when flying over our house, and it never seemed that large.
Inside the main building there is a very nice cafe, and a gift shop selling the usual tat that you can find in most castles and stately homes these days. And there is plenty of exhibits to keep you occupied for a while.
As for the staff, they were all lovely very helpful and just could not do enough for you.
It's still all a bit fresh, which is why I marked it down, given time this will become a major attraction for the city of lincoln, I will certainly return but not for a couple of years or so when the gardens have matured.
G. S.
What a really interesting place to visit plenty of interactive things to do. A great tour with some touching stories. Very educational.
S. C.
A wonderful experience. Everyone should visit to find out who gave so much for us.
L.
I'm sure this place would be suitable for historical enthusiasts who read books in their past time but for me it was very hard to learn something because it was all just text and i cant remember with that method so it was a bit boring and on the way out i felt like i couldn't teach someone anything i previously didn't know. Yes there was a guide going on but it was swarmed with primery children we kept encountering. sure some artifacts aswell but over £20 for entry of 3 people you would expect a little more than 5 peaces of equipment and trinkets. As far as I know there's 2 video experiences and 1 interactive simulation where your surrounding a table and your given a task of being pilot, gunner, bommer etc. and need to work as a group. That really was the only thing i was impressed about even though it was animated and made for the kiddies. The lighting was orange and low wich i can understand it could be to preserve the artifacts but i could barely read. I'm suprised there wasnt any bombs there to be honest since theres still some being found around the world. Maybe that's something that can be done in the future since it would be nice to see the kind of artillery and survival equipment soldiers and civilians used on both sides, even just replicas so people can interact with it instead of listening to "actors" that looked like they were reading an autoque. I get that this is more of an infomation centre but reading and listning isnt the best way to understand what those people had to deal with. Theres a café too, pretty decent and some dishes were inspired by the wartime meals wich is a good idea though i hope there not using powdered egg. Theres a memorial garden witch was nice to reflect, read dedication carvings and find possible relatives, although the signage alphabetical order seemed mismatched to me. Overall the place looks new so I can understand the limitations and struggles of finding displays and funding but paying what I would call alot for what was given, its just a little disappointing, especially having to pay £3 for all day parking when the whole experiance doesn't last all day. So unless you find a way to entertain yourself for the day, your basically being charged too much just so the place can have cut grass and leaves moved around with a leaf blower.
M. G.
Such a moving and thought provoking memorial. Dedicated volunteer guides made the day, thanks 🤓
J. B.
A very beautiful place. A fitting place to remember those who served in bomber command.
M. W.
We went to support our grandaughter dancing as part of the commonwealth torch run. To go into the shop and cafe one doesn't have to pay. Once inside you pay for the carpark and if you want to visit the museum there is a charge. I think I got it right.
Lovely friendly staff there.
S. S.
What an emotional insight into war and its consequences...This Venue shows all aspects of war from all sides and different nation involvements. Fabulous view of Lincoln Cathedral from the monument. Lovely staff too....
B. K.
An amazing place! Also very emotional. The volunteers were very helpful and knowledgeable. Will definitely visit again.
K. N.
Went to an annual shoot and the facilities were fantastic. The whole site was lovely and the surroundings were calm in the evening with amazing views and the sky was lit up soo beautifully with stars. Defo go back
M.
An impressive memorial to Bomber Command, lovely cafe and we'll worth a visit. Take one of the guided tours for an informative insight to the the part they played during the war.
B. T.
Not a lot to see but and that's a big but the tour guide with all the history and figures made it first class info also lovely resteraunt a very nice 3 hours spent
L. C.
Lovely day out and a very relaxing place
C. B.
Moving memorial to a very brave group of people. It's been beautifully designed in great detail which is explained on the free guided tours. Excellent exhibition.
The cafe was great, food was well cooked and tasty, staff were very friendly and helpful, in particular our waitress, Sue.
Book ahead during covid - and be assured that they are doing a good job of following social distancing guidelines.
s. g.
Great dat out for car show. Lovely place
S. P.
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit. well priced and very interesting throughout. Make time to watch all the videos on the monitors or you miss a lot
K. H.
Beautiful and emotive. To stand beneath the memorial spire and just have the sheer volume of names surround you of brave men that didn't come home was an incredibly moving experience.
We ordered tickets online to view the exhibition inside and that allows free returns for one year. The car park was £3 for all day. We didn't use the cafe but it smelled good! Toilets were very clean. Staff were incredibly helpful. I feel it was more geared towards adults and not small children. I didn't feel it somewhere I could take my 7 year old to begin to explain this part of history too her as it's a lot of reading. But very informative for my husband and I.
L. R.
Excellent day out, there was a 40's event while we were there so plenty to see and do!
The exhibition is great well worth the visit!
G. E.
A very interesting and poignant place to visit. Nice shop, cafe, clean facilities. Staff very friendly and helpful. Giid exhibition hall to.
Sadly lacking though is the complete picture, there is lack of other Bomber Command aircraft outside Lincolnshire, such as Sterling, Whitley, Halifax and the Wellington, to name a few. It would be nice to see some recourse to these aircraft, their crews and operations and a balance gained in the future to encompass ALL Bomber Command aircraft. Also maybe on the memorial tree's plaques the aircraft type against Squadrons would be a nice touch.
That said a fantastic day out was had .

Absolutely brilliant and well worth a visit. Very well organised and felt very safe. Would definitely recommend going.
g. w.
This place is well worth a visit time to relax
It is so so peaceful. After a relaxing moment
It's time to visit the cafe exalant food very
Friendly staff nothing to much trouble
So get in see for yourself we are going back
M. C.
Excellent value for money and a very interesting place to visit. I would recommend taking the free guided tour which gives an informative and chilling insight into the lives of the airmen in bomber command.
R. W.
The International Bomber Command Center is well thought out as a memorial place to recognise and remember the sacrifices of so many. It is very accessible to different age groups through various media.
B. D.
Absolutely beautiful and humbling place excellent service in the coffee shop and delicious food 😋 plus the tour guides are very knowledgeable definitely recommend this place 👌
M. L.
A most fitting memorial to all those brave men and women. Thanks to Roger our guide and great food and service from the Cafe.
G. J.
Incredible place, very interesting and thought provoking about how lucky we are to have had this very brave and heroic generation of people, who did everything they could to put a stop to this awful point in history, with the forewarned knowledge that they could face certain death and such a large number paid that ultimate price, All of the displays are fascinating and tell very interesting stories. Very adequate car parking.A very big thank you to all of the staff as they are nice, polite, helpful and very happy, keep up the good work, we will be returning.
c. d.
Great visitor experience. Initially found this online as a place for Grandparents to enjoy since they have had a long two weeks of entertaining the grandchildren with us. We where pleasantly surprised how great this was for children (prob age4+) Grandparents went on the tour and we got stuck into the dressing up and hands on parts of the exhibit. Searching for top secret files and listening to stories on old telephones once the girls worked out how to dial on them😂
And the fun continued up stairs.Great way to teach young primary age about WW2 history. Grandad loved it all too. As a WW2 history buff he still came away learning new things and heard some truely inspiration stories. We spent two hours but could have been there longer to take it all in. The Cafe food was excellent. The only improvement I would suggest if there was some colouring,RAF fact finder hunt or craft for the kids to make just to keep there little hands busy while we took all the history in. Overall a lovely tribute to the Bomber Command and all the amazing work they did for the war effort.
M. G.
A must visit experience. The stories and the lives of those who served are brought to life and give an insight to a world we should never forget. Many paid the ultimate price and deserve to be remembered. The stories are told with honesty and do not shy away from all aspects of this type of warfare and how people's lives were affected. The site is spectacular and the facilities excellent. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the cafe sells a wide selection of quality food at very reasonable prices.
L. T.
Loads of visiting aircraft, well it was a Lancaster and Mosquito running day, stalls, the hangar, forties live music, good food, all in all brilliant.
J. V.
Amazing tribute to those of bomber command. The exhibition is interactive and you can learn what it was like from many different perspectives. I only wish I had more time to spend going through the exhibition in more detail. The memorial itself was superb. It was a chance to pay my respects to those who lost their lives, with each name recorded in metal. I will be going again and can highly recommend it to others.
K. S.
Lovely staff, but it is not ready to be opened, seems very rushed. There are improvements that need to be made to make somewhere I would encourage others to go to. Parking is £3, but there are free parking at the bottom of the hill. Shop in minimal and cafe is overpriced.
W. J.
The memorial is well thought out and the visitor's center is very smart.
It was a privilege to be able to be there for the memorial service to the railway people who served in Bomber Command.
The flypast was was wonderful, thank you to the RAF and the staff of East Midlands Trains.
S. M.
Visited 10th May 2022.We were totally unaware of it,s existence until visiting Lincoln. It commemorates R.A.F personnel who lost their lives during WW2.while serving in bomber command.Their is visual and audio information, telling about life of all staff involved. The most poignant area for us was a remembrance monument with the names of all who died(relevant to us,as a family member,s name was on the metal wall.We were given a poppy to place next to his name). So if anyone wishes to do the same ,then I recommend a visit.Parking is £3.Cafe on site which is not over priced. We had a good visit lasting 1.5hours approx. If you do visit Lincoln then as it is only 15 to 20 minutes drive I would recommend taking the time.
R. W.
Easy to get to and park. Just a short distance from Lincoln centre which you can walk in 30 minutes. Great exhibition, takes you back in time. Lovely cafe if you fancy just tea or more if you want a bombers breakfast. Memorial is beautiful and moving. Free tour if you just want to turn up and look around. Lovely tour guides. Would love them to add mock up of a bomber or two.
M. C.
The memorial was good to see but the visitors centre has no artefacts at all so on that side it’s an expensive book and video so I was a little disappointed with the visitors centre which in my opinion is a bit pricey !!!
But go and see it and make up your own minds !
Me personally I would give the visitors centre a miss ! But that’s up to you
L. R.
Amazing place, great exhibition lovely large cafe. Guided tour was fab, some great stories of the men who flew with the RAF. Such a shame we lost so many.
G. S.
The memorial is moving and comes with a good view of the cathedral and city. The exhibit was overpriced for what you see
M. P.
A tribute to the brave crews of bomber command in WW2, who carried the war to Germany, in the most extreme of circumstances. The losses were colossal, but they were underred.
Much has been said about how wrong our actions were, but it is always wise with hindsight! Whatever your thoughts , it does not distract from the heroism displayed by these men
The memorial garden, brings home the sacrifices made
A. H.
Wow what a place to visit. The gardens remembrance spire cafè and shop are free. The car park is only £3 for all day. The exhibition is around £8 but you get a discount online.
The exhibition is fully immersive great for all ages. If you have no concept on what the aircrew and ground staff had to suffer during the war. This will give you a great insight. If like me you know your bomber command history. Then this will bring the history alive and also teach you at the same time.
The free guided tours are a must. They take about 40 minutes and the guides are very knowledgeable and friendly.
It has great access for disabled people.
The food in the cafè is good value and quality. The gifts in the shop start at kids pocket money prices and go up to limited edition signed prints.
Whether you spend an hour or all day here you'll leave feeling humbled by the sacrifices made by the young men and women of bomber command.
This centre doesn't glorify war it's for remembrance and reconciliation for EVERYONE.
Also you might be lucky enough to meet one of the bomber command members and talk to real heros.
J. S.
Really nice and well presented place, modern with a humbling WW2 feel.
Will definitely be going back again.
Thank you so much for keeping the memory alive, lest we forget
T. H.
Wonderful visit. Guided tours available, gift shop, cafe, toilets (inc disabled) incredible exhibition and beautiful gardens and memorials with great views over the city of Lincoln.
Theres a Beefeater (and Premier Inn) 10 mins walk away if you fancy a steak instead of a jacket potato.
R. N.
Very very good place to visit fully enjoyed it
G. S.
Though this is an exceptional memorial to the bomber crews ideally positioned in Lincoln I would not recommend the museum side which I think some people would find disappointing.
A very nice cafe/restaurant with great views.
J. E.
Nice memorial to those that perished.
Lovely garden and spire, didn't get chance to explore inside, but will revisit another time.
C. W.
Great monument in honour of all Bomber Command airmen! Visited on Queen's Jubilee and watched a great 40s style swing band. Great service by staff and very friendly and sobering. Highly recommended!
G. D.
To get the full experience attend one of the tours given by the volunteer guides. Learnt lots that you would not by just exploring on your own.
G. G.
Poignant visit. Brings home the sacrifices made.
Well laid and informative. Good staff and guides. Nice restaurant well priced. Good way to spend a few hours.
A. L.
Superb what a lovely relaxing calm place enjoyed every minute of my visit.
G. W.
Nice place to spend a couple of hours. Modern building and nice outdoor memorial garden. Very informative displays and films about WW2 aerial warfare. Shop and Cafe also on site, also plenty of carpark space. Reasonable entrance fee (£7.70). One minor complaint is the lack of signposting for venue.
A. L.
Very interesting and moving history described by an excellent volunteer guide. The exhibition was also very informative presented in a variety of ways. Also a great café, delicious soup 😋
S. M.
Great idea to have a memorial and lovely views to Lincoln but the building seems very plush, souless and totally corporate rather than something focused on those who served and learning about them, plus whats the point of letting dogs into reception and the shop but refusing them in the empty cafe with just outdoors area in the cold and damp. Considering cafe and centre empty at the time surely turning four patrons away as a result shows corporate attitude rather than common sense.
N. G.
A nice day out, it was raining when I left Norwich, but by the time I arrived in Lincoln, the sun was out.
A spacious car park, that charges £3.00 for all day Parking.
Enterance to the exhibition hall is £8.50, which I thought was reasonably.
The restaurant area provided a varied selection of food. I had the Baked potato, with green leaf salad, a portion of baked beans + a portion of tuna, a Black coffee + a bottle of Ginger Beer, was also purchased.
All in all a smashing meal, which I realy enjoyed. 10/10.
The area up to the Spire is lined with Memorial Plaques/Tiles, that are very interesting, dedicated to a perticular aircraft's crew, an Individual or a Squadron.
At the Spire you will find sections of metalled walls with the names of all Allied Airmen killed in actio or servise.
Whilst at the Spire, you have a beautiful view overlooking the City of Lincoln.
For those who like a souvenir of their visit, there is an amply stocked shop in the main concourse.
A. L.
Good place to visit if you want to learn all about what the bomber crews did during WW2
G. H.
Amazing place and well worth doing the tour with the very knowledgeable guides. Great gift shop and cafe and plenty of parking suitable for Motorhome's too.
M. B.
Our second visit, just as interesting as the first. Children would enjoy the experience.Very tranquil place. Restaurant is excellent, we had breakfast, all cooked fresh and staff exstremly helpful. Will go back. Free entry, carparking fee.
S. R.
Very emotional but very interesting. The monument is beautiful, and the views are stunning. Nice and reasonably priced food as well
I. H.
Evocative, memorable, moving, thoughtful and most of all respectful.
"Lest We Forget." Highly recommended if you're in the area.
S. W.
Another good visit. Although a reduced menu, still very good food. Even though there was 20 of us, the food came quickly and hot.
R. P.
Excellently done. The memorial Gardens are free to enter but it's worth paying to see the exhibition. Horrifying and moving
L. H.
Brilliant day. Staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We'll set out. Easy to navigate all around the site especially if you are less mobile.
M. K.
A beautiful, touching and well deserved memorial.
It is just such a shame it took so long to have these amazing people recognised, for all they did for our future.
Thank you all for your service & sacrifices.
A. W.
Absolutely brilliant, great for anyone who is interested in the war
R. C.
Great cafe and food, marvellous memorial to all the aircrew who died in WWII. Didn't visit exhibition space but I can imagine that is well laid out and very informative.
V. F.
Poignant and sobering. These memories must never be forgotten, and are especially relevant at the moment. Thank you to all who keep them alive. Well worth a visit.
E. M.
My sister took me here. Very interesting. Only problem was I found it difficult to read the smaller print in the upper exihibition. Cafe very good and everyone helpful overall.
J. W.
Fantastic place, very informative, hands on, educational but not a stuffy museum. Everyone so very friendly.
A. R.
We've been a couple of times and must when visiting Lincoln, recommend the guided tour, Andrew our tour guide was brilliant and so informative, with galleries and gardens adding to the experience, the wall of remembrance is a very sobering reminder of the ultimate sacrifice made by all the men and women of bomber command.
W. P.
8/10/21
Fascinating and mind blowing memorial to WWII with a small museum about it that mostly covers in bombing mission in the war. The information is well presented and for the youngsters, there are some interactive exhibits as well. Cafe serving hot food also available. Superb views of the cathedral as well
M. S.
Truly awe inspiring. To see the names of so many who gave so much in the cause of freedom. A fitting tribute that they may never be forgotten or their sacrifice diminished by time.
I. G.
Well laid out, very informative about Bomber Command, Aircrew etc during WWII....if you want to see WWII aircraft and aircraft artefacts then this ISN'T the place for you !....otherwise well worth spending a couple of hours or so there.
c.
A lovely place which always brings a lump to my throat when I see the names of the 55,000+ men who never came back
M. E.
Interesting, and we'll organised. Easy to find, good parking.
C. R.
Worthwhile visiting. Most enjoyable and informative . Staff excellent. Food from cafe(nafi,) excellent. Knick knacks from shop very good.. Would highly recommend.

r. r.
Excellent experience. Free tour included. Much more comprehensive and interesting than anticipated.
P. K.
Absolute must visit with very friendly staff, great food and regular summer events on top of the usual attractions of the centre .
A. C.
Took the tour which was extremely informative, would recommend
L. D.
Didn't go in the paid exhibition. Just walked round the gardens. Parking is £3. Parking machine only takes coins, although you can pay at the desk when you first walk in by card. Beautiful memorial, friendly staff. Was a lovely quick visit.
A. F.
What an inspiration all these heros are to all generations. I am an RA vet from the 80's and will always show my upmost respect for that generations, Airforce, Army and Navel. Rest easy ladies and gentlemen. Ubique 🥃
T. M.

A very interesting memorial site. Poignant and moving. Recognition long overdue to those who served in Bomber Command.
Very thoughtfully set out. Do go in the free guided tour. The guide gives out very worthy info. We also visited the exhibition centre. Worth a visit. Add about 90 minutes for this.
Get thee sen down to IBCC tha waint be disappointed.
A. B. (.
Excellent and very informative . A great, long overdue, memorial to the outstanding work and sacrifice that these brave men and women endured on our behalf.
M. H.
Enjoyable visit. Much information, some eye opening.
P. M.
I was so moved by the stark simplicity of the memorial...the reality that the place only existed at all because all those young men died.
May we remember them.
P. “. W.
Great place to visit and learn.
C. W.
View from the IBCC.
This place is an interesting momorial, bomber command, the cafe is excellent too, we've had breakfast here a few times and it's really good..
M. B.
Fantastic place to visit and see loved one's names on the plack, absolutely brilliant view from monument
D. A.
Love going up there to learn about world war 2 and about the bombers. It's an interesting place but emotional at the same time as it has names around the spar who lost there lives during world war two. They shall never grow old least we forget.
T. W.
Great museum with many interesting exhibits, cafe with a varied menu and the memorial spire. The memorial wall(s) contain the names of all those who served with Bomber Command and the many who did not return.
The site is also used for varied club meetings and displays. Check the website for details.
J. O.
Friendly staff, nice little cafe and spacious car park.
P.
An excellent experience and an opportunity to learn about a part of history that I didn't know much about. Our guide Roger was amazing and very informative. All the staff were great and the exhibition was amazing. Well worth a visit
L. H.
Great experience, learnt loads, nice cafe good food, nice gift shop bathrooms were small and crammed, friendly staff, great views of Lincoln castle and cathedral over all good place
C. R.
A lovely place, very friendly staff and fantastic views - well worth a visit and we'll be coming back again!
D. W.
Lovely cafe, museum and grounds. There is a shop you can buy memorabilia.
C. T.
Great museum with an excellent and informative exhibition. The memorial to bomber command has been beautifully done and is a stunning space.
L. H.
Well organised, helpful staff, cafe very nice. Website leads you to pay £7.70 each + parking, when actually this is the cost into exhibition, not entrance fee.
K. S.
Very moving, liked the new Falklands memorial and the sun shined.
J. L.
Interesting and well put together exhibition. It was too wet and windy to spend much time outside when we visited, so the guided tour was moved inside - informative and well presented by the volunteer guide (Barry Steele). We had a quick drink and cake in the cafe, but others were having what looked like a very substantial Sunday lunch. Just outside Lincoln and easy to get to, I'd recommend a visit to learn more about Bomber Command.
N. G.
Fantastic memorial and lots of information in the exhibition. Very moving. We also had a guided tour, our guide Steve Moore was amazing.
The restaurant serves excellent food at very good prices too.
K. W.
Great place. Unique memorial to the men and women of Bomber Command.
S. S.
Fantastic, better than I thought it would be, great tribute to the memory of bomber command, cafe is a nice place too relax as well.
C. C.
Memorial, museum and garden made in memory of the RAF Heavy Bomber Command, this is one of the best WWII museums I have visited. Expect to spend at least one and a half to two hours here if you complete the full museum experience on the ground floor as well as the memorial. On-site cafe is an added bonus with coffees and full breakfasts available.
On a clear day the views from the 30m tall structure at the rear of the centre look directly out over Lincoln towards the cathedral.
Contact the archive team if you need any help researching relatives; they were a great help locating the names on the plaques as well as providing background stories and information on the crew.
M. B.
Excellent memorial, a must visit for everyone. Excellent food, and very friendly staff.
N. D.
If this is your interest or hobby it's well worth a visit. Very moving tribute to all that gave everything for us
i. s.
Lovely memorial .well looked after and easy access
j. f.
Good day out. Very interesting would go again. But disabled parking could do to be closer
K. B.
Very good memorial for all who lost their lives in the war. Well thought out and the engraved stones of crew laid along side path to pinnacle very fitting.
T. B.
Very interesting place to visit. Easy parking for all size of vehicles. Good displays to look at and very good shop to make your purchases. Exceptional cafe to enjoy good food after your tour of the site.
B. S.
A free, well described tour about every hour. Lasts around 45 mins.
Museum a bit pricey but you can use the ticket for a year.
m. r.
This is about the people involved in bomber command. Well worth a visit. Very well done.
P. H.
Super facilities and exhibition. Take the free tour.
P. S.
Visited on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th November. A wonderful Museum.
c. w.
This was a great experience but a bit pricy for the amount of time it took to get the full experience. Staff are knowledgable and friendly which adds to the experience.
R. C.
A well presented, architecturally interesting but respectful history and tribute to the Bomber Command crews. Learnt a lot and well worth a visit.
C. M.
A very special place to visit. Staff are very friendly and helpful and a great cafe.
D. B.

Amazing new memorial to all who served in Bomber command..Some small teething issues but once sorted this will be a world class site.
J. G.
Excellent memorial with plenty to see and thought provoking. Shop and cafe have good selections so make sure you leave enough time..
D. S.
Plenty of parking.
Easy to pay & enter.
Very interesting & needs supporting.

Very friendly reception by staff. Interesting displays and information. Guided tour to explain history behind centre and memorial garden. Cafe was popular and food nice
G. H.
A fitting memorial for those lost in conflict. The tour adds context to the site, delivered professionally by tour guide Mike.
Great café offering a great choice of lunches & cakes.
a. d.
A terrific monument to those who gave their lives in the war. A modern building which manages to connect with the past. Very well done. As a side note, the cafe does excellent food.
L. B.
Outstanding place to visit nice cafe and the staff are friendly and warm parking is good
s. d.
Walked up through south common hoping to enter but gate was locked. So had to enter off the main road which is quite dangerous to cross. Apart from that a pleasant place to walk around.
D. H.
Friendly and informative staff. Free guided tours with explanations of the various areas of the grounds. Decent cafe too.
K. G.
An amazing piece of history. I had goosebumps listening to and watching original footage in the exhibition. Gardens and memorial are free but the exhibition costs but I would definitely recommend paying to see it as it is well worth the money. It was just a shame we did not have time to do the free guided tour. Will definitely be going back.Staff were lovely too.
J. h.
I went with my wife and we both found it very interesting and informative
J. C.
This place only opened in 2018 there is a museum were you can relive the past with lads & lassies who experienced the war first hand. The cafe has a good menu and the staff are very helpful food is good as well, they even clean down each table after everyone has left ready for the next party to sit down. You can have a guided tour or just wander around on your own outside, there is a big statue with names engraved on huge plates for those who lost their lives. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
R. C.
Interesting museum, but a bit pricey for what is was. Lots of interactive stuff but a bit thin on the ground for artefacts to look at. Nice cafe. It would be nice if you could get an hour's parking free if you're just using the cafe. £3 parking for a £3 coffee just seems expensive. Recommend the tour of the spire and the outside, very informative!
K. C.
Well worth a visit to see the memorials and gardens with nice cafe & shop also an exhibition centre and also guided tour too give much information such a wonderful tribute too those that lost their lives relies on donations usually £3 to park for the day which is nothing considering what's there to see with nice views also over lincoln
S. M. (.
Great site and amazing design. A lot of detail and thought has been put into every party of the building. Highly recommend a visit.
A. B.
Wonderful exhibition area with fantastic interactive displays that give a very good feel for volume of bombing in WWII and how bomber teams had to work together. Neice and Nephew loved it
P. M.
Loved it, lovely meal, kind relaxed atmosphere, staff were very helpfull looking after us during the visit.
A. N.
Beautiful place and worth the visit. Will be one of the attraction centre for future. Nice cafe with good selection of food.
M. E.
A memorial to over 55,000 airmen and other people who lost there lives in WW2.
Also the humanitarian carried out in the same period of conflict.
A. E.
Modern facility with exhibition, memorial garden, shop and cafe. Great views of Lincoln and Lincoln Cathedral.
L. A.
Interesting exhibition (although at £9 each and £3 parking, not cheap). Entrance to the memorial is free.
S. A.
What a fantastic place to visit. It makes you realise the huge sacrifices made by our brave bomber aircrews in world war 2.
T. M.
A must visit for the whole family! Simply amazing, informative, interactive & awesome cake in the cafe!
P. H.
Lovely place .. six of us bikers for breakfast in The Hub Cafe.. excellant food , nice staff and clean environment... recommended...
J. 1. R.
Excellent and humbling place to sit and reflect.😊😊
G. M.
Inspiring memorial. Well worth the visit.
D. N.
Well worth a visit if you want to find out more about the subject. Guided tour of the memorial a must.
G. P.
Very moving and well thought out memorial and museum space explaining the impact of Bomber Command to the region and the sacrifice made by the RAF personnel and others during WW2 in particular. The centre provides a view from both sides and explains the impact on the civilian populations who suffered under the bombing raids.
The monument carries the names on the 65000 personnel who died, I strongly recommend a visit.
K. S.
Very informative, and the cafe does a great breakfast. Staff always very pleasant and helpful 😊.
K. C.
A wonderful place to visit. Excellent exhibition, very moving & thought provoking. Friendly & helpful staff. Great facilities.
G. B.
Brilliant place, Fantastic views of Lincoln AND they have free tours. It's a great experience only have to pay if you want to go in the museum bit but that's cheap anyway
P. M.
The spire. The 55,000+ names, each one paying the ultimate price for our freedom of choice and lifestyle; all too often taken for granted. Looking for familiar names: Gibson GP, Hopgood JV, Knight LG, Maudslay, Astell, Byers and I could go on and on and on. Going from wall to wall. A tear in my eye, a lump in my throat, thinking of their story, pilot and crew so often locked in the same fate. Quite a spiritual place. I think that's ultimately the point.
The inside displays all really well done, great technology and the stories, audio and video, of aircrew and ground crew, all fascinating.
But that spire and those walls.
Per Adua Ad Astra.
Lest We Forget...now we cannot.
H. m.
Well worth a visit if you are interested in Bomber Command or WW2. This is a good location to visit if you've been to see the Lancaster Just Jane based at Lincoln Aviation Heritage Centre.
R. B.
amazing time fantastic exhibition also very moving a must visit if u in area
D. W.
Guided tour very informative. Had a lovely breakfast. So peaceful, and a lovely view over Lincoln. Second time I've been, worth a visit.
p. h.
Excellent memorial to Bomber Command.
The guided tour is very informative and well worth taking. Cafe is modern and serves a good selection.
D. L.
Very simple but quite poignant, however didnt visit the cinema part.
The monument is depict the wings span of a lancaster.
S. B.
Lovely centre and memorial, lovely display inside and information, films, good how they have done it...
B. F.
Very interesting tour. Lovely cafe
m. H.
Superb place to visit to learn about these beautiful aircraft the staff who work here are very knowledgeable and happy to answer your questions
S. C.
A stunning and well thought out memorial for Bomber Command, particularly the layout of the trees representing the stations, and an interesting and accessible interactive exhibition that involves visitors in the story - an experience rather than a museum.
C. L.
Very impressive exhibition. We had a free tour from Chris which was excellent, explaining how important Bomber Command were in the war and some of the personal stories behind the headlines. Just out of Lincoln city centre and definitely worth a visit. Great views of Lincoln too.
B. H.
Quality over quantity. The exhibition at IBCC is fantastic; very powerful, educational and has elements for all age groups.
The main room of the exhibition, but the content within it is top notch. A short introduction for those unfamiliar, followed by a tense experience of what bombings would have been like.
The artefacts on show add realism to the stories that are being replayed through survivors and actors. There is also plenty of interactivity for younger ones, with a really cool game in the centre of the main hall.
Staff were very accommodating, and the building was very well presented. I will definitely be coming back if I'm in the area.
S. P.
Its a a really nice everyone was really helpfull it's a very interesting place
M. U.
What a great memorial to those that gave their lives.
A modern, interesting, good value experience that tells the stories. Every lost life is named at the site.
Really friendly and enthusiastic staff and lovely cafe. Highly recommended.
J. B.
Excellent memorial for the sacrifice yesterday's men made for our freedom of today. The International Bomber Command Centre is well worth a visit it is only a small place but very informative we spent 3 hours walking around and getting involved with the hands on activities, our tour guide Roger I think he was called was a really nice chap. The cafe is also well worth a visit the food and drinks we had were very good quality not the usual rubbish you get in a regular cafe. Well done and keep up the good work 👍.
a. s.
Really interesting visit. They explained a lot and treated the subject with sensitivity and respect.
I. B.
A fitting tribute to those from the many nations who joined the RAF. The names cut into the steel plates is quite something to behold. The view of Lincoln Cathedral is very fitting. It will only get better as the gardens grow and mature.
J. P.
Very interesting place, showing the sacrifice by the Bomber Command as well as the similarities between bombed out British and German families
G. F.
Definitely worth a visit, even if you aren't in to history. Well worth the entry fee, and take advantage of the free guided tour.
Cafe serves good food and it's not expensive. Will be visiting again.
M.
Beautifully kept. Perhaps a parking refund for groups buying tickets to exhibition might be in order as £3 parking, on top of £8 entry per person for group of 4 made for an expensive visit. For those just accessing cafe, shop and monument parking fee reasonable. An interesting, moving and interactive exhibition but not particularly extensive.
A. J.
It was an excellent museum, very informative and knowledgeable staff, also very clean. We found it very moving and reflective of what is happening in today's world
m. s.
Great exhibition, gives a good idea of what that time was like.
S. O.
An amazing Testament too the men women that dedicated their lives to our future it will fast become something that people of all ages will use in the new year looking forward to going again with my family when it is opened in April
L. R.
A beautiful monument to the fallen, in great location overlooking Lincoln. Excellent interactive exhibits. Personal and informative free tours of site.
B. S.
Amazing. Our second visit. So peaceful and moving, beautiful memorial. Exhibition very good and well worth doing. Whole area and staff welcoming. Excellent cafe.
N. H.
Really enjoy visiting this place, not much more you can say, very humbling.
B. D.
Not a bad museum. £9 entry was OK but not asked to gift aid it ( I'm assuming it's a registered charity). Disappointed there wasn't a 'mock up' of a Lancaster bomber or such like or even a 'mock up'bomb to better understand the size of those things.
J. D.
A fantastic memorial to our fallen heroes and heroines. All staff are passionate and enthusiastic about this memorial.
J. W.
Well worth a visit, whether you had family serve in WWII in the RAF bomber groups or not. Immaculately kept and very poignant. A very nice cafe and shop will help refresh after spending some time looking at all of those whose lives were cut short protecting ours today.
N. J.
A great place to visit.
R. M.
This place is a comfortable place to visit. What it reminds us of is perhaps less pleasant. I never find talking about war easy and having visualisations on how many people died is always striking. The cafe is lovely and it's a modern well thought out museum. The view of Lincoln Cathedral is also amazing. It's not a place for kids in my opinion but if the weather is good they can run around the grounds. It's a place you could visit for a morning or afternoon but not the day.
M. D.
Really appreciate this type of memorial. Found this place moving, respectful and informative.
M. C.
Good place of respect, nice feel to this place.
S. F.
I visited with my 90 year old mother. The staff were kind, helpful and very well informed. Mum as able to access everything on the site in the wheelchair loaned by the centre at no extra charge. Quiet reflection, remembering what these people did for our freedom. Well worth a visit.
A. L. (.
Very sobering experience.
D. W.
A long overdue memorial to the brave aircrew of bomber command. We were even lucky enough to see the Red Arrows over the cathedral.
M. B.
Parking is £3, but I think it's all day. Track and trace is in use to go inside the information centre, and also for the café. We were only interested in wandering around the perimeter and viewing the huge spire because we can see it from where we live. I can imagine when lots of visitors are there, it would have more atmosphere. There is an outside seating area for talks about the exhibits which should be interesting. Will be returning.
G. J.
Great place to visit and a bargain entry fee. Went on the free guided tour, which was very informative. Whole place is thought-provoking and poignant. Thought we'd be there for an hour but still there after 2.5 hours. Café is very good too. Reasonable price and great tasting food.
t. h.
First time visit and worth going if you like history/second world war. We had a knowledgeable guide who showed us round. Love the memorial spire and and the wall of names as well as the way it is laid out. Also has a terrific view of Lincoln cathedral.
K. L.
We really enjoyed our visit, the overall aura is very moving and really makes you think. The staff were friendly and very helpful and the tour guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. We ate in the restaurant and the food was top notch and good value for money. The shop stocked a lovely range of good quality products. We would definitely recommend a visit.
A. H.
Loved it absolutely brilliant
D. D.
About a 20 minute walk from the centre of Lincoln on Cannick Hill. Well worth a visit and a fitting memorial to those airmen who lost their lives flying for Bomber Command in WW 2. Includes a shop, restaurant, exhibition room. There are Peace Gardens, Walls of Names and the Spire. There is a car park which costs £3 but the money which goes towards the upkeep of the centre.
P. H.
Awesome and respect to our airmen, who's lives were taken too early.
N. K.
A fab experience, definitely worth the trip
M. W.
This is a fitting, moving memorial, with a first class exhibition. The staff are knowlegable, enthusiastic and helpful.
The memorial is fully wheelchair accessible and wheelchairs are available to borrow if required.
We had the added bonus of a Red Arrows practice, which was spectacular.
C. M.
Cracking place to visit. Both sombre and informative. Suggest really taking time to listen to the exhibits.
M. S.
An excellent memorial to remember some exceptionally brave young men who gave so much for our country. The exhibition, gift shop and cafe are all very good.
V. S.
Brilliant memorial .Thoroughly enjoyed my visit here.
J. S.
Very moving and found the name of a friend of my Mum, Bob Harley, who lost his life in the war.
M. T.
Amazing and enthusiastic teams. Great food and service. Absolute credit to the Memorial.
We owe the fallen and survivors of the war. Humbling experience. Thank you
C. P.
Fantastic place. A must see 👍🇬🇧
G. P. (.
1940 weekend very good enjoyed it go again mint
G. T.
Very interesting lots of information good for familes also dog friendly. With excellent cafe.
L. J.
Nice to visit the IBCC today. Great to pop in whilst visiting Lincoln, we spent about an hour here. Informative and lovely staff!
c. s.
Fabulous time very informative
S. k.
What a wonderful memorial to the bravest of the brave.
Make the effort and visit. You will be moved. Excellent staff, a nice cafeteria and a well stocked shop.
G. H.
Had Sunday lunch with family members. Warmly welcomed as we arrived and serving staff were excellent, especially the young waitress who was assigned to our table. Food was beautifully presented, very tasty, and great value. Of course the backdrop is the Bomber Command memorial and the sobering roll call of those who gave their lives. I thoroughly recommend IBCC whether eating or not.
P. C.
Brilliant day out and very interesting.
Food was excellent and piping hot. Steak pie full of meat and lovely creamy mash with carrots & peas. Brownie and Ice Cream for Sweet. Lots to see, read, watch and read. Will definitely go again.
R. K.
Very interesting with lots of information and a lively exhibition
J. B.
Another fabulous memorial, we'll set out along with interesting exhibition showpiece. Really helpful & knowledgeable staff who found about a wartime (WW2) family acquaintance & if their name was listed at all. All in all a good "profitable" visit & somewhere we're going to go back to.
C. C.
Brilliant place you must visit
B. L.
Very professionally run.The staff are polite and respectful and extremely knowledgeable.Well worth a visit.
F. T.
This is a memorial to the thousands that died in the service of Bomber Command.
It's also informative and doesn't pull punches when it's describing the horrific results of strategic bombings.
And amongst all of this it has a human touch describing the lives of not only the aircrews but the lives of those people who provided the support for those crews.
The huge memorial is both impressive and truly saddening. All the names on all those walls. Might just be me, but it does make the eyes leak.
P. D.
A beautiful tribute to all those brave men of bomber command. Well worth a visit with a stunning and evocative view over Lincoln. Cafe good and staff very knowledgeable and helpful.🐯
D. B.
Lovely place to visit and have lunch.
M. B.
Beautiful afternoon tea for Covid secure wedding celebration
r. g.
Invited to show my classic car here fab place of history of our bomber crews
G. M.
Very clean, nice gardens and some information about the bombers.
Would have liked to have seen life size bomber.
G. P.
Really good memorial with a very interesting and educational exhibition, especially for children ( our 10 year old niece found it very good). The one thing missing, in my view, is the physical experience of a bomber. Would be great to have a mock up of a bomber to see inside. Thoroughly reccomend a visit though.
A. M.
Incredibly moving memorial to all those 50,000+ servicemen and servicewomen that made the ultimate sacrifice during the many years of bomber command.
Beautifully laid out and the tour guide was very good and a mine of useful information. Great idea that the lime trees are laid out in the same layout as the RAF bases that were active during the war
We were lucky with the weather with it being blue skies and this really accentuated the contrast of the spire against the sky.
Useful fact - the spire is as tall of the wingspan of a Lancaster bomber
J. L.
Car parking an issue doing some work and therefore no disabled bays too far to walk
N. B.
If you have any interest in WW2 then you must visit, the guide we had was very informative, don't forget to look round all the centre as there is lots to see
S. C.
Great concept, wonderful place and a fitting tribute to brave people. Plus staff lovely too!
A. O.
I attended the International Bomber Command Center for for the Royal British Legion 100 year parade. I thought the monument was meaningful and poingent.
The staff were very friendly and all the amenities you expect were accessable and clean. The shop was reasonably priced along with the cafe.
Shall definitely go again
W. M.
Moving and educational experience well presented by tour guide.
V. G.
This was an interesting place and very poignant, it certainly made you think when you read all the names on the memorial walls. It had a nice view over Lincoln, it is only a small place, but well worth a visit.
N. B.
The exhibition was very engaging and informative for both kids and adults alike and gives you a real insight into what these people's lives were like. The memorial is awesome. We didn't venture out into the grounds due to the weather but you have a good view of it from inside and the scale model in the shop area. Cafe was very reasonably priced and decent tasting food and coffee, good range of choice savoury and cakes and the staff were lovely.
A. A.
Perfect location with views to Lincoln cathedral. Very impressive interactive audio-visual exhibition & knowledgeable guides to walk you through the outside memorial which is thoughtfully designed.
S. T.
Good location. Plenty of room to walk around and see the memorial.
Tour guides good. Expect this could expand over the years to come.
Relies on donations except for car park payment
r. 3.
Great way to spend an hour
There's a small cafe and a shop.
The monument is impressive and has a great view of Lincoln
C. F.
Excellent guided tour (by Roger) of about 40 mins outside; there was a free tour every 15 mins. The exhibition (entry charge) has exceptional audio visuals; one display illuminates the main screen, secondary screens and the ceiling and walls. There are other displays where on screen service people tell of their roles and trauma.
Cafe, shop, toilets. Bit of a longish bus journey from the station; there is of course a car park.
Lincoln does not appear to promote this facility which is a missed opportunity.
p. r.
Very moving and thought provoking visit. Definitely should go and take the kids along, the future lies in their hands...
S. G.
Moving experience. My father was in Bomber Command. I was in the PMRAFNS
It was interesting to learn some more.Beautiful setting.
C. S.
Lovely cafe.
Great modern feeling bringing a harrowing past to the forefront of the mind
V. S.
My 1st visit since this memorial opened. Very well done to all who campaigned for this.It is a very touching and fitting tribute to all who lost their lives in WW2.
I. R.
Great experience, wonderful tour round, enjoyed very much 😀
C. H.
Lovely and interesting day out , Neil was great guide
G. W.
Fantastic memorial for those who gave everything for all of us.
W. O.
Lovely place to visit!
For £3 for a day's parking (Payed at Reception due to COVID) it's great!
The tour guides are very knowledgeable of the centre and all staff and volunteers are very friendly 😊
The café has a good selection of food including all-day breakfasts, cakes, Paninis and more! Very good value for money and very tasty 😋
Well worth the visit!
P. B.
Well laid out and informative interactive information. Allow at least 3 hours for a visit.
J. L.
Great centre dedicated to the brave men and women of the RAF who risked everything for our freedom, great interactive experiences and the memorial spire is fantastic, good range of souvenirs etc, didn't visit the cafe but heard its good food and value
N. J.
Excellent place to find out all about bomber command and the history behind it
T. B. S. E.
Amazing place to visit whether you want to see a great tourist attraction or pay your respects to the fallen, they also have an amazing cafe here which serves very high quality food.
L. C.
Impressed of what I've seen while setting up to display Amateur Radio tomorrow. Hope to get round it all while there , though if not a trip to look round at another date
M. B.
A brand new building with pictures on the walls but I feel it doesn't tell you enough about bomber command, not enough exhibits, just tv screens . Of course this is just my opinion I just wanted to see more artifacts
L. A.
Can't recommend a visit enough. Such a calm peaceful memorial to those we should never forget. Interesting informative and such lovely staff.
L. D.
This is a very peaceful, moving place. Seeing those metal walls and remembering that every single name was a young, hopeful person once, put some of today’s trivial values into a shameful perspective. They aren’t here to thank but this wonderful memorial is a truly fitting reminder of the price that was paid for today’s freedoms.
The guide we had was an incredibly helpful man, he went to look for additional information for us and was really interesting to listen to. The shop staff were also informative and helpful and as a museum type shop I think there are great items for sale at exceptionally good prices. To round it off we enjoyed a very nice lunch where all the Covid rules were observed. So, top marks to everyone, a remarkable place to visit....even in these difficult times. Thank You.
J.
had a great day out here and enjoyed a great free tour alongside the exhibit (which you do need to pay for) the cafe had plenty of options and snacks .
overall had a fantastic time here and would recommend visiting it if youre in the area
M. H.
Well worth a visit, lovely location and views over Lincoln. Very well laid out, clean, covid safe, good spacious cafe and very informative staff. Short guided tour worth it for the extra information and stories that bring meaning to all the names on the memorial walls and plaques. Sunset at the spire a bonus as it gets dark early in October.
H. B.
Very well done and poignant reminder to the 57,861 individuals who gave their life during WW2 under Bomber Command. Site also has a great view overlooking Lincoln and the Cathedral. Interesting gift shop with in the main tasteful reminders about what the site is about. Also has a cafe.
T. C.
A memorial to those who served in Bomber Command, those who supported them and the devastation they caused in the act of performing the jib they were ordered to do. Remember war crimes only became such after the second world war
A. B.
Amazing place free tours and a very good breakfast
S. B. (. P. P.
Wonderful place to visit... The staff there are very friendly and knowledgeable about the Centre and the Exhibition. The center is free to enter, but the exhibition is pay to enter. The exhibition is well worth the cost of entry, if you pay few pence extra you will receive an identity card that will give you free entry to the exhibition for a year.
This is a serene spot just outside of Lincoln City centre.
This is a great place to educate people of all ages..
M. 1.
Good museum. Parking on site - cost £3. Three main display areas with a host of interactive activities. There are various exhibitions. Garden ground to rear hosts peace garden and memorial, and has great views towards Lincoln cathedral (which is why the museum is located where it is). Cafe and shop in main building.
L. B.
Nice place to go, good exhibition.
T. P.
Absolutely fantastic place to visit amazing exhibit and experience, very friendly staff and the tour is almost certainly worth doing, the amount of knowledge the guide had was great
m.
Excellent centre recognising the amazing sacrifices and achievements people have made in the past to preserve our valuable freedoms. A very smart facility manned by brilliantly enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers that are genuinely pleased to receive their visitors.
R. M.
Absolutely brilliant. Didn't know what to expect, I don't think the leaflet does it justice. Thought I might only be about an hour but was there for three hours and could have been there longer. If you go make sure you pay to see the exhibition, brilliantly planned and executed. Also take advantage of the free guided tour, knowledgeable and entertaining staff. Restaurant is excellent, large choice, freshly cooked/prepared and not expensive
j. j.
Excellent memorial and well worth a visit.
R. F.
Excellent experience. Fitting memorial to the brave men and women of the RAF.
Very friendly and helpful staff, and, great full breakfast !
G. L.
Great venue and full of intetest
P. J.
Fantastic. I am so glad this centre was built in the 2010s and provided a contemporary, people-centric story that will touch and appeal to all future generations and so provide a fitting memorial.
F. B.
Interesting but not very “well done” in the sense of the way the interpretation has been set out. The map showing the bombings across Europe is interesting but the bigger show the whole place goes dark for is not really anything a decently educated person wouldn’t already know about WW2.
M. W.
Lovely please to pay respect to our fallen heroes. Nice little interactive area too. And good food from the cafe.
K. J.
A very interesting place to visit. There was lots to see. The memorial walls, walkways and sculpture was breath taking. The guide was very knowledgeable and well worth having.
The indoor interactive displays and information was brilliant.
Tea rooms welcoming.
Parking is an extra £3:00, which goes to the charity.
The only downside was the gift shop, this was very good but pricey so I didn't buy anything.
J. D.
Exceptional memorial to the lost crews and service men and women of Bomber Command. Well worth visiting.
a. h.
Our tour guild Sam was very interesting and knowledgeable,
K. S.
Interesting visit re RAF memorial. Stunning views across Lincoln. Excellent food.
S. F.
Very well laid out and fitting tribute to Bomber Command. Lots of information available about Bomber Command and it’s make up. Knowledgable staff always on hand to talk too.
S. S.
Had a great day. Made to feel very welcome. Had a very informative guided tour from Alan, who was very knowledgeable. Cafe was lovely, very efficient and tasty food, not too expensive and very efficient service. Thank you.
C. G.
Wonderful memorial to those who flew and gave their lives in a terrible war.
s. h.
Great 40's event really hot day.
J. H.
We visited before the exhibition re-opened. We had a lovely breakfast served by friendly and helpful staff, followed by a fabulous tour. Very knowledgeable guide and 45 minutes flew by. Learned loads. Highly tecommend.
B. C.
A poignant experience us - enthusiasts of the RAF and world aviation/warfare history ; took a guided tour by a very knowledgeable and engaging person who told us incredible previously unheard of stories of the stoicism, bravery, valour of the military and the human sufferings/sacrifices endured 🙏❤
W. C.
The only negative observation I would make is that dogs are allowed everywhere except the cafe. With you so close to the sth common we would call in regularly if not for the ban on dogs. That aside, one can be nothing than proud of bomber command.
C. S.
Superb venue and a fantastic tribute to our armed forces. Combine this with very knowledgeable, friendly staff and volunteers. Well worth a visit, for both Lincolnshire visitors and locals alike.
F. H.
Really good exhibition of what Bomber Command was all about. If you get the chance go on the free tour of the site. - the guide was very knowledgeable. Nice cafe serving a variety of food.
S. M.
Really interesting place to visit. The exhibition was well thought out so that it engaged with all ages including our four year old. The guided tour was informative- the volunteer who did this was really knowledgeable. Would highly recommend a visit.
R. M.
This is both an amazing and sobering experience. The new building is absolutely stunning: the exhibits are respectful, clear and interesting (and yet not too many of them); there are some explanatory films; and there is a lovely cafe. Outside, the spire and memorial walls are again stunning. Set against the backdrop of Lincoln, it's a great 2-3 hour visit.
G. K.
A worthy memorial to thousands who lost their lives serving with bomber command. If you are visiting lincoln, try & visit.
M. E.
Great memorial to brave fliers who never came back from war.
J. R.
Fantastic place with great tour guides
r. a.
This is a special place. Above all it is a memorial and quite rightly evokes a lot of emotion in people. The outdoor area and spire is awesome in its truest sense of the word. The visitor centre is compact with a very interesting exhibition on two levels with lift access. It is detailed and immersive with lots to read and interact with. The cafe is well priced and very good quality. Overall an impressive place to spend two or three hours .
A. “. D.
Very well set out and interesting museum.
Only disappointment was paying £6 for a coffee just because wanted an extra shot!
P. H.
Great place with great views and lots to learn. Amazing day out for all ages.
A. T.
Such a great place. The volunteer tour guides are amazing and so friendly. It could do with being a little more interactive but I imagine that will come with time. Everything is free but the exhibition (which you don't have to visit), and they only ask for you to pay parking which is £3. Amazing tribute and memorial site.
