A really excellent visit, made even better by the welcoming, friendly and very knowledgeable staff. The house is a really good compact snapshot of a bygone era that was used by an incredible woman who was obviously well liked and appreciated by everyone she came into contact with. It really is well worth a visit and I cannot recommend it highly enough. A really big thankyou to the staff for making the visit that little bit more enjoyable.

A delightful time capsule from an age before all the mod cons we now take for granted. The guides were welcoming, knowledgeable and really enhanced our visit. More than just a snap shot of social history the character and personality of Mrs Smith shone through and whose life encompassed near enough the whole of the twentieth century. The exhibition areas were well-designed and at the time of our visit the focus was upon the various wallpapers that had been discovered and conserved.

What a wonderful house to visit. The member of staff was so friendly and informative (20.5.22) and the house itself was remarkable. It was almost as if Mrs Smith had popped to the shops and would be back at any moment. I would and will recommend a visit to this house to everyone. You are truly able to step into another time for a brief glimpse of a simpler life.

Excellent tour of cottage. Not as old as expected but I'm in my 80s so a lot I've seen in real life. Very good guide and well worth £3.50.

Great fun to look round, a real period piece. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers. The books of carefully preserved wallpaper layers are fascinating.

Very friendly and welcoming environment. A credit to the ladies on 13.3.2022. Lovely gift shop. And a fab guided tour if the Cottage and its amazing history. So much better than we anticipated. Weldone NKDC for keeping this Gem alive and visible to the public

Really well organised, great to see, point in modern history. Great stories relating to Mrs Smith. Amazing life time. Little cottage garden, and small exhibition rooms. Good value, great guide, very informative. Well worth a visit.

We spent a pleasant hour here, the visit further made enjoyable by the friendly and knowledgeable guides. Certainly evoked memories of our grandparents' lives. Loved reading the excerpts from Mrs Smith's diaires.

Really interesting little time capsule in Navenby of how one amazing lady lived and climbed up a ladder to bed even when she was over 100 years old. Well worth a visit.

A heart warming, cosy visit and a time capsule to the past. The hand written notes in various areas of the cottage a nice touch.
